The Best Art in Santa Fe, According to a Local

"Meow Wolf's House of Eternal Return is an interactive art experience. The company commissions painters or sculptors, including Native artists, to curate murals or installations. Being in a space and looking at things that you've never seen before, such as an Alice in Wonderland–like fireplace that's a portal into the next room, and having that experience with my children and my grandchildren has been really fun." - Ashley M. Martin ( Game of Thrones ) and operated by an art collective of almost 200 "creators." Guestsareencouraged to find clues of what happened to a missing family by sifting through various diaries and opening a series of doors—including those of appliances like a refrigerator and a washing machine. Don't like audience participation? Worry not. Simply go along for the journey throughan all-encompassing dream world complete with high-tech visuals: kaleidoscopic laser beams, jungle gyms, and musical treats, like a synthesizer made fromdinosaur bones."

You have to experience this place. Words can't really describe how amazing it is. Buy the glasses for the extra $2. It makes the experience even better. We spent 2 1/2 hours there and could have spent more time finding all the hidden gems. I highly recommend this!

The original Meow Wolf is just as awesome as ever. We first visited here 6-7 years ago and it's as great as ever. We have a Portal Pass (highly recommended), so we've also been to the Denver location multiple times and recently visited the Houston location as well. Tons of fun stuff to see and diving into the lore is always interesting. Great work by all the artists involved! My kids love exploring here and we usually spend hours at a time.

Google
What to even say?? I had no idea what I was walking into. Just along for the ride. I had no idea what was going on so it took a second to realize there was a storyline that you could follow if you wanted to. The storyline helped give direction but not necessary for enjoyment. There is a mystery to solve OR just enjoy the fun. It is such a whimsical place with wild art, great music, and wonder. It can get quite busy, but everyone is in awe so it’s just fun to explore. *Highly suggest downloading the app, know what you want to do (wander and enjoy or be on the hunt for clues) and plan for several hours to explore.* The rooms just continued and seemed to never end. Loved every minute of it! *Buy ticked in advance to help enjoy the fun!*

Google
This was an amazing experience, the rooms are endless and have so much detail! Drinks, snacks, and a gift shop available up front. Definitely give yourself at least 2 hours for this activity. Strollers aren't allowed but I understand after seeing the limited amount of space, I would recommend bringing a baby carrier. There are some spots where you may have to crouch or crawl but most usually have another way to enter.

Google
WOW. Just go and see for yourself how amazing and talented this team is- well worth the price. I could spend all day in there wandering around. There is a storyline to follow along with if you’re into that- really awesome interactive art space. Tickets are usually a bit cheaper online. Gift shop is pricey but everything is unique and quirky. They also sell local artists work in the gift shop. 1000/10

Google
Plan ahead! This is a busy attraction (for good reason) and is worth investing time in. Once you step in to the house, you become a part of a mystery and self-direct around a maze of different rooms with clues. Bring a charged up cell phone so that you can download the app to check your progress around the house. We went in the mid afternoon and it was quite busy but still enjoyable. This wouldn't be a good place for someone with sensory sensitivities, claustrophobia or panic attacks in public. Getting out of the house could be confusing and frustrating if you have those considered. The art and style throughout was amazing. The storyline, for us, wasn't the main thrill. The art and music was.

Jenna Bishop

Google
Prepare to be here about 1-2 hours just to see everything. To follow the story line and find clues or research, plan to be here even longer. Lots of walking but a lot of fun. The cafe doesn't have much so I'd plan to eat before or after showing up.

Google
Psychedelic but thought provoking medley of different art forms ranging from conventional to bizarre. They all work very well together with the sound tracks. The exhibit have a 'lore' use the app to navigate. A little bit of patience goes a long way if you are not comfortable with the rule breaking art forms. Delightful whimsical and deeply thoughtful.

Yelp
One of a kind, stimulating, family experience not to miss. Unbelievable interactive and immersive art installations. so many unique things to look at, play with, and explore. my children did not want to leave and was captivated by the fictional Selig family storyline. We spent about 2.5 hours during our visit, but it did not felt that long at all. Since there is so much to do, time really flew by. Staff members were always around to help find places or answer questions. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Don't skip visiting this place if in Santa Fe. An art experience like no other, Meow Wolf gives you a way to experience interactive art. The walk through is self guided but download the app to really dive into the story at the beginning of the house. This won't be a quick thing either. You'll get captured into the art and there are so many rooms/spaces. We stayed here for about 90 mins. Prices will vary during the season and time but we paid 45 a person (off season peak hour in January).

Yelp
Wow, this place is amazing!!! We have been wanting to come here for years and finally we made it. We got there at 4pm. We stayed until 7 when the daytime closes. But then we came back 15 minutes later because we got tickets to see buckethead. While we were there 3 hours was plenty to see everything and make our way back to anywhere we wanted to see a second time. Got tones of great photos. Was more crowded when we got there but thinned out as it got closer to closing. For the concert, they had a full bar. The stage is pretty small and intimate. The upper levels were hard to get a good spot. But easy to get close at the ground floor. Had an amazing time! Would like to no visit some of the other locations.

Yelp
Meow Wolf is an amazing immersive art experience. All on its own. (And now there are a number of spinoffs in Denver, Vegas and Texas. But we were here at the OG.) To have MW House of Eternal Return as a wedding venue was absolutely AMAZING! Wow! Such a fun experience! So we were part of a small wedding party, 6 people allowed and 7 if one officiates the wedding. We were allowed in as soon as MW was closing to the public. MW Staff were super helpful at assisting us at every level. We quickly set up, had the ceremony, and then had the run of the place (mostly to take absolutely gorgeous wedding pics). Definitely recommend going to Meow Wolf just for fun, or for an amazing wedding experience. Truly out of this world!!!

Yelp
OMG I loved this place. I've been to Omega Mart in Vegas, so seeing the origins of the Meow Wolf experiences was pretty mindblowing. Good: - I liked how it started out pretty scary and spooky like a haunted house and then you go through the fireplace or fridge and get into a bright sparkly alien place - I was thoroughly entertained for 2.5 hours and would have been there longer if I could. There's so much to see and do, and even found new rooms in the last minute - The story was so smart and I liked how all of it started to fall into place as I found secret TVs around and saw characters and names click Bad: - It sometimes gets super crowded and hard to move around - Some stuff feels a little older and creaky, but otherwise most of the place is in a good condition Overall I would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Meow Wolf, and this is my 3rd to visit and explore. The story is engaging, the clues are tough to collect! The experience is engaging and clean and large! It was surprisingly kept for how busy it was and how long the line was. The movie snippet clues scattered about are good and interesting, would love to see them as a full length movie! But lots of people trying to watch them at once is a bit claustrophobic! Did not have any food or drink from the cafe, but the options appear to match the same idea as others: local quality goods! This is a great adventure. I recommend bringing friends and family who like a puzzle and a challenge, or simply like the whimsy of immersive art-chitecture :)

Yelp
I cannot begin to tell you how f'ing cool this place is! This was my first Meow Wolf experience and now I want to go and see all the others. I really like how well made everything was and how this place starts out somewhat spooky and then you go through the fireplace and end of in an alien land. The storyline behind the house was so good and at times it felt like an escape room where you had to pay attention to clues in order to open certain things. Definitely download the app and use that as you explore the house as it will explain certain things and piece it all together for you. I was entertained for about 2 1/2 hours and could've spent more time here but we had to catch our flight in Albuquerque. We were there on a Sunday so it was a bit crowded and seeing some of the rooms was a little difficult...but we made it work. I liked how everything was interactive and the attention to detail throughout the exhibit was top notch. The art work was also amazing and I'll never forget my experience here.

Yelp
Took my boys here and thought it wouldn't be that fun. We get in and you have to follow this storyline that is very interesting and each corner of this place had some extremely interesting rooms. I love the storyline and the people that work here are very helpful and extremely nice. I have never seen such a colorful area and the only way to explain is Disneyland type of feel, it's chaotic but fun. We didn't eat anything here but from what I saw they had a great deal of snacks. Would definitely recommend as you can get lost and caught up.

Yelp
This was a cool way to spend a couple of hours and break up the heat. There's not a set way (that I was aware of) to explore. However I highly recommend going to the room at the far left that has the computer monitor to start. It helps give some context and I think I'd have enjoyed and understood the concept a lot better if I'd started there. This would be a great place for a rainy day or to take kiddos. It's easy to get lost and start one place and end up somewhere else so you'd need to keep an eye on anyone who you don't want exploring alone. It is an immersive art exhibit so touch and explore! The exhibits change so you can go back multiple times and have a unique experience each time. Parking is free but I would imagine could be difficult if it's busier. I went on a weekday evening and it was not crowded - no wait, empty parking spots.

Yelp
My friend brought me here a few years ago, and Meow Wolf is truly a unique experience unlike any museum or art exhibition that I have visited. I loved the portals, interactive art exhibits, mysterious clues to evolving puzzles and upcycled art/junk decor. I would love to attend a concert here. Hopefully, I will get the chance on my next visit to New Mexico. I'd also like to visit Meow Wolf Museums in other locations sometime.

Yelp
Hot take: There aren't many reasons to visit New Mexico. I know, it's a HUGE blanket statement, but for me it's held true for all my life. And when I did visit the climate was so dry my eyes were constantly crying. My skin cracked from the dryness, and for some reason people were really into chiles and a bald, mustached Brian Cranston in his whitie tighties. I felt justified for feeling like New Mexico wasn't the place to be. However, when I arrived at the only reason I came to this state and started exploring the enigma that is Meow Wolf, my justifications started melting away under psychedelic settings. I was instantly intrigued and loved what mystery would start unraveling. From the moment you arrive to the parking lot of Meow Wolf you know it's unique. The exterior is mostly a parking lot with largely crafted figures outside. The exterior of the building is brightly decorated for the name but otherwise not much is given away when gleaning at it. You'll go through a quick security check and make sure you have a reservation made ahead of time. Once inside you see an eye catching mural of black and white on the left hand side where the exit is and a vibe-y type of cafe right next to it where you can get drinks ranging from coffee to cocktails. On the right of the entrance is the souvenir shop and a long hallway leading to the bathrooms. You could spend a good amount of time just looking at the artwork decorating the walls of the hallway, but that would take time away from what awaits you after entering. I want to tell you more about what actually awaits you inside the House of Eternal Return but I think it's best to go in blind and without expectations. There is so much to explore and so much to experience. The best things I can say is to leave yourself open to explore and thoroughly look and read everything. You are living and breathing a real life mystery and the strangeness it all entails. For some, this can be overwhelming while for others it'll be immensely entertaining. Whichever outcome lands on you, give yourself a few hours to really take it all in. Would I return back to New Mexico? Most likely not. But if Meow Wolf created another museum here I'd probably think real hard about it. They got me hooked.

Yelp
My daughter and I came back to Meow Wolf after several years. The main story is the same but they refreshed many of the displays. They expanded the cafe area and moved the gift shop. The front desk attendant was super helpful. He explained using the app and other new features. If you get the bundle you get tokens to use inside. Of course the theme is about the mystery in the house and the portals. Very fun and colorful. We stopped and had a chai tea on our way out. The tea was good. If you come definitely use the app. It helps us make sure we found all the rooms. The app also adds a lot of details to the story of the installation and makes navigating to find clues much more interesting.

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to Meow Wolf for ages, and I happened to be passing through Santa Fe on a roadtrip. I'm so glad we went out of our way to check it out! The spectacle of it was really something. You feel like you're inside a fever dream inside a funhouse or something. It is very immersive and surreal. There seems to be a big meta puzzle (or puzzles) to solve throughout the experience, but upon first visit, you'll probably find yourself so wrapped up in the art of it all, that you'll have a hard time focusing on the puzzles. I'd love to go back and try to solve some of the puzzles, though!

Yelp
What an unusual immersive and interactive experience. Meow Wolf was like nothing I've ever done before. It is visual, tactile, sensory and fun! Most would miss the subliminal and satirical messages about today's culture, the environment, materialism, and reminders of being kind to each other. Very creative!

Yelp
Meow Wolf was a delight! This is absolutely worth it. While I don't want to share too many pictures to give this masterpiece away, there is so much to see and do here. Coming to the original Meow Wolf is quite the eclectic experience. We stocked up on some swag at the gift shop. All I will say is dress in clothes that you can comfortably move around in, charge your phones to 100% and be ready to be immersed in the magic.

Yelp
During our recent trip to New Mexico-- a visit which saw us enjoy dune sledding at White Sands National Park, snow skiing in Taos Ski Valley, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul film-location-touring in ABQ, and museum-hopping in Santa Fe-- we purchased tickets for House of Eternal Return - Meow Wolf. The website for Meow Wolf states, "House of Eternal Return is a scene straight out of science fiction: an old Victorian house inhabited by a family that has been sweeped into another dimension through a spiraling void, inside a former bowling alley." Visitors are given the task of solving the great mystery of what happened to the family that lives/lived here... navigating trippy rooms with intense colors, lights, sounds, and textures. ...And I have to admit... I didn't really think about that once I stepped inside of the museum proper. What I did find was a devastatingly-sober experience of psychedelics. The artists who contribute to this place certainly captured the essence of pushing your five senses to the limits... and then shoving you from behind while gently pulling up on your nostrils with two fingers... like that pie-smell in old cartoons that seductively drags you along towards terrifying bliss. Secret passageways, optical illusions, strobe and black light features, and aural stimulation across the human range of hearing all contribute to an almost hallucinatory experience... but one that you can experience with your wife and kids. Honestly, the whole thing was sort of just like a big haunted house, with a sort of psilocybin edge... but as one of the t-shirts in the gift shop suggests, "No Bad Trips." Yeah, we all got the joke, here. But what a punchline. And honestly, we had a really great time... except for one passage through a false back of a closet that led to a secret passage that got more narrow and narrow, until I sort of had to squeeze my 6'3" frame through an opening not designed for a guy my size. Call it chest pressure and move on. The thought, of course, as you explore and discover in this place is a distinct wonder of what this place might be like if you were... well, otherwise *impared*. And for what it's worth, with three kids and my Mrs. in tow, my truck parked in the lot outside, and a bit of a drive to our hotel... I'm glad I was sober as a nun when it all came to an end. At around $45 bucks a ticket, it was not a cheap cheap cheap night for a family of five, who really aren't cut from the cloth used to upholster the art museum set. Still, we had a blast, and chances are, you will too. Even if you leave your Instant Zen and microdot in the car, man. ‍

Yelp
Having explored three Meow Wolf exhibits--starting with Las Vegas, then Dallas, and now Santa Fe--I have to say that doing Dallas first was a bit of a mistake. The Dallas exhibit outshines this one and feels very familiar, likely because the layout in Dallas is based on Santa Fe's original. This gave me a strong sense of déjà vu throughout the visit. That said, my wife and I still had a great time exploring. The exhibit offers a lot of value for the price, and I recommend setting aside ample time to fully enjoy it. Whether you choose to follow the underlying story mode or just roam around freely, there's plenty to discover. It's great that you're encouraged to touch and climb on things, with clear signs marking off-limits areas. One thing to note is that there wasn't much staff interaction throughout our visit, but the few times we did engage with staff, they were pleasant and helpful. However, given how similar the Dallas and Santa Fe exhibits feel, it would be nice if there were a discount for those who have visited both, especially considering how different the other installments are. On the plus side, the café and merch store in Santa Fe are fantastic. We grabbed a few local beers and snacks, which were decently priced--not the usual inflated venue prices you'd find at a theater or sporting event. We're heading to Vegas next week so my wife can experience that Meow Wolf for the first time, and we're both excited for the Houston spot to open and the Austin Spa!

Yelp
The love child of a Choose Your Own Adventure Picture Book mixed with a carnival funhouse maze, Meow Wolf is to art what food truck nights are to food. One of the coolest things is also the most maddening, especially if you are the kind of person who goes to the market and starts in one corner and snakes down every aisle until you reach the other corner. This place has no corners and it's impossible to do in order. You might open one door that leads to another room that leads to another room that leads to the room from which you came, if not another room that brings you back to a room you will eventually reach from another room. Don't expect to see IKEA arrows on the ground- you can't really go in order... you will eventually if not repeatedly cross your own footprints, but just when you think the bag of Oreos is empty, you will find a few more cookies. Think of it as an art exhibit you can touch, walk through, and even lounge, with lots of photo ops. We spent an easy two hours there (plus we hung out to watch a band warm up for an after-hours concert). The fun parts were the "secret" portals we found behind bookcases, refrigerators, ice machines, and washing machines. I got so accustomed to these secret doors that later, in the Plaza, I nearly broke a three-way mirror at Malouf trying to climb through and I got kicked out of San Miguel Chapel for repeatedly pressing the hands of Jesus to open the door. It's not my fault stigmata looks like red buttons. The place is clean and climate controlled, with friendly workers and a cool gift shop, with plenty of free parking with a few giant photo op installations and a food truck. There were maybe 14 hand sanitizing stations, but almost none of them worked. Well, this is "Art", so maybe they symbolized McDonald's ice cream machines. Also, there's a "mystery" or a "story" that unites the journey, but if you are like me and do not want to be Scooby Doo, then Scooby Don't. I see it as a bonus for nerds who want to do extra credit homework. Unless the mystery solves why the hand sanitization machines are all broken, I don't have time for that. Anyway, just as the Pueblo Indians envisioned, Meow Wolf was the highlight of our Santa Fe trip.

Yelp
I finally made it, but as impressive and interactive as it was, it was more crowded than anything. Trying to do something without stepping over someone was just about impossible. However, there are a lot of great things about House of Eternal Return. It's sensory overload galore, but in a good way. There are a ton of rooms, all with different themes, which I enjoyed. The house was definitely the hot spot, and where most people were. I loved all of the interactive elements of this Meow Wolf and how you also got to join in on the creativity. Out of all three Meow Wolfs, I think this is definitely the most interactive, which is great for the mind and soul. All in all, this spot was great and a fun way to spend a couple hours, just be mindful that it will be busy.
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
Two words. Mind blown! This immersive interactive art experience is beyond imagination and with over 70 "rooms" it's an exploration for all your senses. My photos cannot capture the sheer wonder of discovering this creative multiverse! It's truly a journey into another time, dimension and space with many "oohs" "aahs" and gasps of delight, childish amusement and giddiness of cracking the code. I may never recover ... and that's a good thing! Expect to spend a good amount of time in here, so dress comfortably (thank goodness for stretch pants), wear athletic shoes and take the time to sit and absorb it all in. A gift shop and cafe are conveniently located inside. ENJOY!

Yelp
Definitely one of the weirdest places I have ever been to. If you've ever heard or seen City Museum in St. Louis, MO, Meow Wolf kind of reminds me of that except everything is a lot cleaner and more curated. The St. Louis City Museum seems more trashy and dirty. Either way, definitely recommend reserving a spot beforehand because especially around the holidays, the place does get full pretty quickly. I was kind of confused why the tickets were almost $50 a person for adults but I can understand why after you walk in. Here are some of my favorite parts of Meow Wolf: - I appreciate how different each of the rooms are. Some rooms I loved, some rooms I got creeped out about, and some rooms I was downright uncomfortable. You really don't know what will happen next and I love this overwhelming sensory experience. - I appreciate the way different rooms led to each other like going down a washing machine and going into closets. It made the experience more fun. - The gift shop was actually so amazing. I feel like usually gifts shops are pretty boring and standard with stickers and t-shirts, but this gift shop felt a little bit like a curated art museum that you can buy with a lot of weird and unexpected things. They also pre-empt Omega Mart goods in here which makes me also want to go to Omega Mart as well. - Despite there being a lot of people, I never felt that it was very crowded because if it was, you just go to another room. - There's a lot of seating which you definitely need as it gets a bit mentally exhausting. Definitely some things to keep in mind next time I visit: - I wish I spent more time here and tried to read some of the things in the House of Eternal Return. I know that there's a storyline and mystery behind it which I wish I read up on a little before I came so that I can understand what I'm looking at a bit more. - It feels like there's not enough oxygen in here. It's honestly quite stuffy and your brain starts to hurt after being here for too long. - Definitely come in the morning or dinnertime as the lines outside the place gets pretty long and they don't let the next group to come in until their ticket time begins. Overall, very interesting experience at Meow Wolf, really unlike anything I've ever seen. Your brain might be a bit overloaded because of the lack of oxygen and the sensory stimulation, but it is definitely worth it. I would love to go visit the other Meow Wolf locations like Omega Mart pretty soon and read up on the story before I go!

Yelp
Great place to visit when you are in Santa Fe, NM. Be sure you allow plenty of time to explore all the nocks & crannies. Allow plenty of time. This isn't a 30 minute stop. It takes time to enjoy all three clever "art work". Even if you've been here before . . . things change. Enjoy!
google avatar

Brandye K.

Yelp
While visiting Santa Fe our friend told us we should check it out. I had heard of it but was dismissive due to thinking it was some instagram pop up. From suggestions to showing up it was about 30 minutes. Yay spontaneity!! Turns out it's a pretty dark story with creative immersive art experience. This place got us hooked and was part of the fuel for future destinations.
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
After having been to digital art museums (ie TeamLab ones), we probably would not put Meow Wolf in the same category. Built into a previous bowling alley, Meow Wolf is a campy, super oversized maze of random dark rooms decorated in a variety of different styles. It truly does take 2-3 hours to get through this. Much grimier and - again the emphasis on - campier compared to some of the other "art installation" places we've been to in the past. Think of wandering through an old amusement park/haunted house that hosts frat parties on the weekends. The mystery hunt was also a bit beyond us in its randomness and requirement for a substantial amount of reading. Despite loving the typical escape rooms - the mystery story of this place is easily missed and hard to keep track of with the crazy number of people that were also there on a random Tuesday afternoon. We enjoyed our time but also found it incredibly pricey for the experience. Happy to have done it but no need to go again.

Yelp
Everything about this place has already been said -- you'll get lost here for hours and that's a very, very good thing. Real art and the definition of an immersive experience. Maybe the original.

Yelp
This was my first trip to House of Eternal Return and second Meow Wolf experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being spring break, there were lots of young kiddos and teens about which can make or break the experience. It was also a bit toasty in some of the exhibits. Overall, it was a fun time and I'll check out the other locations.

Yelp
Loved the concept the experience. Refreshing new interesting totally "Twilight zone". Staff needs some help in customer service. Just a simple greeting from the ticket counter staff of w simple Hi would've been nice. Then a thank you for visiting basic piloteness.

Yelp
If dreams were real and you walk through it. That's what I've experienced at Meow Wolf. There are many realms, secret doors, and art installations. It's feels unreal but real at the same time. Many secret doors, closets, small doors and appliances to open. It's an amazing place for art lovers and taking photos! I would suggest to buy tickets online ahead of time. I would not recommend this place for little children, it might be overwhelming and they might get lost. It feels claustrophobic in many rooms with people in small spaces. Overall, it's a place for people to enjoy different types of art media.

Yelp
What a fantastic and out of this world experience. The ticket system was easy and organized. I brought my out of town family here for a fun day in Santa Fe and this was the highlight. We loved the artistic exhibit function as well as the mystery. There were live actors and performers on the day we visited. There really isn't a proper description in words, one really needs to experience. I loved the tactile nature and that everyone is encouraged to touch the exhibits and immerse yourselves. I cannot recommend this experience enough. There is so much to look at and experience, we will be returning again to soak it all in again. Truly the House of Eternal Return. The only negative is the minimal parking and most parking around the establishment clearly states "Not Parking for Meow Wolf".

Yelp
- don't read this review, just go - a very original experience unlike anything you've ever done unless u went to the other ones - it activates every sense #sensoryoverload - this is an indescribable experience it starts out as an investigation of the disappearance of a family, then gets zanier from there - the app is a battery burner - u don't need the glasses u really don't necessarily need the tokens I ended up giving mine away - i did not solve the mystery but it was a cool experience nonetheless - we spent 2+ hours there and we did not read everything - cool cotton candy maragarita u can mix the cotton candy into marg

Yelp
Could be fun but way too many people. I didn't enjoy trying to work my way through the crowds, listening to people blab away on their cell phones, kids hogging the interactive exhibits. It's a fun concept but not worth the expense and hassle.

Yelp
The OG Meow Wolf. I don't want to say too much but this is a trippy, mind-altering immersive experience that sets the bar for all other pop up immersive events. So much thought, planning and artistry went into the creation of this alternate universe set in a deserted storefront in Santa Fe by bonafide mad geniuses. Would I want to live in Meow Wolf? Certainly not. But a few hours exploring, enjoying and unraveling the tangled web of the House of Eternal Return is well worth it. I hope to make pilgrimages to the other Meow Wolf locations soon.

Yelp
What a cool experience! It's hard to describe this place, but it's completely immersive and surprisingly easy to get lost in all the trap doors, hidden passageways, and unexpected turns. Every room is decorated in new and exciting ways, and there's random inexplicable intrigue in endless measure. I spent a good 10 minutes just sitting and marveling at how they made one room's walls change colors so convincingly. A great place to follow up a drink or a visit to the dispensaries too, but even sober it was quite a trip.

Yelp
What an exciting event. Surprises around every corner. There was always an attendant nearby to answer questions or to guide you to the exit. Food was limited to packaged snacks and most drinks came in cans but that's not why we go. The ambiance was one of excitement and laughs. A definite 5-stars for fun.

Yelp
If you are looking for a mind-blowing adventure that will challenge your perception of reality, look no further than the Meow Wolf House of Eternal. This is not your typical art museum, but a multidimensional journey into the unknown, where you can explore, interact, and create your own story. The House of Eternal Return is a 20,000 square foot art exhibit designed by the Meow Wolf collective, a group of artists, writers, musicians, and makers who have transformed an old bowling alley into a fantastical wonderland. The exhibit is centered around the mystery of the Selig family, who disappeared one night after conducting a forbidden experiment inside their Victorian mansion. You can enter the house through the front door, or find one of the many secret passages that lead to other worlds, such as a neon forest, a space station, a giant robot, and more. The best part is that you are free to touch, play, and explore everything you see. There are no rules, no guides, no maps, and no linear narrative. You can follow the clues left by the Seligs, or create your own adventure. You can also enjoy the live music and performances that happen throughout the exhibit, or join in the fun and express yourself. The House of Eternal Return is a place where anything is possible, and where imagination is the only limit. It is a place where adults can feel like kids again, and where kids can discover new wonders. It is a place where art becomes alive, and where you become part of the art. I highly recommend visiting the House of Eternal Return. The House of Eternal Return is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves art, mystery, and fun. It is a unique and unforgettable experience that will leave you wanting more. It is, in one word, awesome. I had many more pics & videos to share, however Yelp limited to only 20.

Yelp
I'm giving this 3 stars because this just wasn't my cup of tea. If you have kids age 12 and under, I think this will be really entertaining and magical. Teens would probably find this entertaining too. Adults who delight in haunted houses will probably like this. If you like cartoonish, pop-art-ish, graffiti-ish, comic book-ish art, you may very well like this. Otherwise, I don't recommend. Be prepared for lots of people, especially lots of kids running noisily around. Someone wrote that he thought it was stuffy inside. I thought it was well ventilated and not stuffy at all. I went on a Thursday afternoon, 3 pm entry, about 75 degrees outside. Parking was free and, while most spots were taken, we found a spot with only a little trouble.

Yelp
I could spend hours here. This place is a trip and I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone visiting the area. My 3 year old and one year old loved it!! They explored everything, interacted with people, and climbed everything they could get their hands on. Perfect place for a date also. The bar is a great addition with alcoholic beverages available. Buy tickets online, go in at your time slot and enjoy the magnificent art work and imaginative designs.

Yelp
It seems the more I come here the better I like it. Meow Wolf has kind of grown on me.

Yelp
Great attraction! Amazing art work all throughout. This was our main stop in Santa Fe and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
I highly recommend visiting. My friends and I stayed in Santa Fe for the weekend and Meow Wolf was the highlight of our trip. We purchased the tickets online and checking in was very easy. I recommend spending the extra $2 on the glasses. It made the experience even greater. The vibes here were awesome.

Yelp
This place is nuts! All I can say is go experience it for yourself and take pictures, but you'll look at the pictures later on and wonder what planet you've just visited ;-) Otherwise, it was very sad to hear the news about Matt King - it's clear that he was quite the visionary and blew everyone away with these exhibits. I wish he could have been around to see how much his creation is appreciated and hope he is looking down and smiling at how much joy (and bewilderment) he has given everyone.

Yelp
My daughter and I enjoyed Meow Wolf on our visit to Santa Fe. We traveled to Santa Fe three years ago, but it was closed, so she was anxious to get to visit this time. I suggest ordering tickets online. If you select a date and time, you will save money. It also helps pace the flow of guests at the time of your visit. We didn't have to wait in any line on this Saturday afternoon. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. Meow Wolf Santa Fe is an extraordinary and very creative art experience, with 70 uniquely decorated rooms. You never knew what you might see when you opened a door. A visitor could spend 1-2 hours here to see everything. I was amazed as we enjoyed Meow Wolf to see that we went up two floors during our experience. I was also surprised when I opened a refrigerator and walked into a totally different room. I opened a clothes dryer and went down a round tube slide. There are lots of surprises at Meow Wolf. There is lots of walking involved to see everything, but there are plenty of padded benches and places to sit along your tour. Meow Wolf also has a gift shop and cafe to enjoy after your visit.

Yelp
Gross disapointment. This was a complete waste of money and time. We went a little later in the day so we did not have to stand in line. Parking stinks. I am glad we went later because if I had been waiting in the sun, in line for this, I would have probably demanded my money back. If you like annoying and rude reenagers, this is the place for you.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times now with my husband! Once for the actual intention of walking around. We were there for almost three hours! People who have negative things to say about the place I don't really think they understand the concept of the story behind this place and how it came to be. Or how you are supposed to come together with your kind or others to try and figure out what's going on and how to find out the story throughout the entire time of walking through. You can get lost in this place. Its crazy, and endless. I want to go back by myself just to spend more time exploring. The time and effort that went into this place is exceptional. My husband and I have also been to events here for music. One being a pop up event for a listening session for Zhu and EDM artist who reached out to Meow Wolf personally. I love this place. We can't wait to experience more stuff here. It's the shit.

Yelp
The most unique and fun art experience out there! Got there near opening and it was busy, so got some food across the street and came back. It was really easy and convenient to buy the tickets online and shift them to later when lunch took a little longer than expected. For this site and for The Real Unreal in Dallas (which is similar by design), I definitely recommend using the app! It helps collect all the story-related documents with the "Psychic Sensor." It's triggered when you enter each different area. You don't have to wait for other people to finish reading to look at the lore. The app also has other fun silly features that are very in-theme with Meow Wolf's style.

Yelp
Where the imagination reign supreme! Let your child guide you and open door to a magic world of fantasy and dreams. You realize quickly that some of the folks who created Meow Woolf must have been high or/ and on a serious trip as this exhibit will blow your mind! The originality and creative genius of every rooms of this génial labyrinthe is simply amazing- LOVE I! . This is fairly pricey ($45) and no coupons available online unless for military ($40) . The place was packed and the atmosphere was definitely on the fun side. This is definitely a monumental achievement in world creation, featuring over 70 rooms made by local and community artists.

Yelp
THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN!! We easily spent 3 hours here due to closing hours.. but could've spent way more time! So many photo opportunities, interactive art works, and fun secrets at every corner! I recommend this to all ages, but it does have A LOT of stairs, ladders, and small spaces so it may not work for those in a wheelchair, crutches, etc. We saw lots of little kids there, but some interactive artworks might be too flashy for little ones, or smaller ones may get hurt. There's even an arcade inside you can play!! HINT HINT! Some of the games are free!! In the front you could purchase a drink to drink before coming in, and there is also a gift shop. Throughout the visit you're supposed to solve a puzzle as to what happened to the people the once lived in the house... but we didn't do that and just walked around, played with stuff, and took pictures. Don't be afraid to touch the stuff!! I hugged a pole as a joke and it started SINGING!!! There's also a piano you can play, screens you can change colors on, and so much more. Bring a camera, a good mood, and be ready to spend 3+ hours there!!

Yelp
Ready to have your mind BLOWN? Then this is your spot! In a recent trip to Santa Fe, I opted to get us tickets to the famed exhibit for an afternoon of fun! Let's just say - it was one hell of an experience! PROS: ++ Tickets were easy peasy to snag, as I was able to book online and have them delivered via email. A line easily formed at the entrance for others who were hoping to just walk in, but I assure you, reservations are necessary for this popular attraction! Staff checked our tickets, provided instructions on the layout and theme and left us to explore! ++For just $42/person, prices to enter the insane space are totally reasonable - especially for out-of-town visitors like us. However, there are military/student and resident rates that are a bit lower, including a group rate for more to enjoy the fun! ++The space itself is INSANELY awesome/interesting/wild/confusing/entertaining/hard to track yet a total mind F*uck! There are so many twists, turns, tunnels, and wild takes on this massive space, that starts small but gets even bigger than you could imagine! It's definitely colorful, fun and a wild ride - and 100% worth it! WITH THAT BEING SAID - there are a few Cons! CONS: -- It does fill up FAST and many folks are allowed in the space at the same time creating a funnel like effect. Everyone wanting to access the same small(ish) spaces at the same time became kind of overwhelming. -- There was a story line associated at the beginning which required us to scan QR codes that provided additional information to help solve what the F was going on. Naturally, as stated above, with the sheer amount of folks doing the exact same thing, it created a little bit of a problem. As a result, we opted to forgo the story line and just explore the bizarre space just for the hell of it. -- The space isn't accessible to those disabled, in wheelchairs, crutches and the like. Be prepared when heading to this spot! However, I'd easily attend this trippy exhibit yet again and look forward to attending the one in Denver and Las Vegas in 2023!

Yelp
When I was first referred to Meow Wolf, I thought it was a kitschy tourist trap. It was the complete opposite. A wonderful playground of artistic creations. An incredible mind trip without drugs. The building consists of two floors, and over 72 rooms of entertainment. There are also innumerable tunnels in the most unexpected places leading to other unexpected places. Several visitors lost track of kids and friends while I was there. Should you be vacationing in Santa Fe, plan on at least two visits to Meow Wolf to absorb the full experience.
