Where To Eat & Drink With Someone You Haven’t Seen In A Year

"If you’ve given this friendship the same level of love and care you offer that poor cactus in your bathroom, then Meraki is the perfect place to create an aura of ‘hi, so very sorry I’ve been an aloof asshole, I do miss you’. We’re talking smile-inducing tzatziki, the crispiest of great crispy squids, and some of London’s all-time must-order lamb chops. A relaxed but feelgood restaurant, it’s the kind of place where a spicy paloma and some tuna tartare can easily turn into a four-course meal and a sweet bottle of white from Santorini. Basically, it’s the perfect apology in hummus-packed form." - heidi lauth beasley

Where To Have Your 30th Birthday Dinner

"Those that can, do; those who can’t, teach, and those who write about restaurants full-time must confess when they actually pick a restaurant for their own birthday. Yes, we’ve had a birthday party at Meraki. The excellent lamb kebab compensated for the fact that our one grey hair had opted to bring eighteen friends to the scalp party that very morning. The zesty courgette and feta pasta gave us confidence that we actually would spend this next decade eating more vegetables. And the great assortment of Greek cocktails gave us a hangover that truly was the best way to kiss ye olde 20s goodbye. Plus, it’s in Soho and has a great sophisticated party atmosphere. Full-time restaurant writer approved." - heidi lauth beasley

Meraki Review - Fitzrovia - London - The Infatuation

"Meraki is a Greek spot from the people behind flash, upmarket London restaurants Roka and Zuma. This fact might give you a certain idea about the type of place it is, however it’s nowhere near as showy as they are. It doesn’t have ice sculptures, sparklers or creeping vines, and as a result it doesn’t feel like just another overpriced place made for blowing your boss’ bonus, although you might want to do that anyhow. While there’s an outside chance you’re going to spot one of the owners, negroni in hand, throwing a silk scarf over his shoulder and guffawing over a joke he didn’t even hear, there’s plenty to distract you from any hint of pretentiousness, starting with the food. photo credit: Meraki There’s something for everyone here, and the most important thing to know is that they do all the important parts brilliantly. The Mediterranean flavours are big and powerful— think lamb chops served with an encouragingly large dollop of tahini—and the portions are substantial rather than heavy, like the courgette pasta which is buttery and rich but balanced perfectly with mint and feta. It’s not cheap though, and something like the tomato, caper, and goats cheese salad is very small and very expensive. If you’re thinking of getting it as a refreshing addition to your grilled meat and fish order, think again. It is definitely not a priority. The freshly baked donuts, however, definitely are. photo credit: Karolina Wiercigroch Classics like kebabs, pasta, and donuts done as well as any speciality restaurant are a good enough reason to hit Meraki for a birthday dinner, date night, or even an after work drink, but it’s the atmosphere that makes us want to come back again and again. It’s the perfect antidote to London’s seriousness, and there’s an emphasis on hospitality that makes it a perfect storm of relaxing Greek beach bar vibes and a party atmosphere. An amazing evening out is all but guaranteed, and at the very least you’ll drink great wine, eat good food, and leave a little poorer and a lot less serious. Food Rundown Greek Style Hummus On the one hand this hummus is served with crispy warm pita and so it is perfectly normal. On the other hand, there’s smoked eel in and so it’s fcking amazing. photo credit: Karolina Wiercigroch Courgette And Feta Pasta The most surprisingly sensational dish we’ve had in a long time. This pasta is rich and buttery which is balanced expertly by a lemon zest. This is by no means an easy call to make, but this is the best dish here. Octopus BBQ It’s amazing how seldom octopus is cooked right. This one is. And the capers and grilled onions compliment it wonderfully. Rosti Greek Style You’ll want two of these as they’ll be hoovered up in seconds. The crispy potato is offset by the softness of the egg, and the truffle works brilliantly. photo credit: Karolina Wiercigroch Lamb Kebab These kebabs are rubbed in a secret spice recipe that we feel should be released in the public interest under the Freedom of Information Act. The Steak 1.2kg of rich sliced steak. If you’re in the mood, it’s absolutely worth your time." - Sam Collins

This is a truly unique restaurant that I have visited for over 5 years. The food is of top quality and the service is impeccable. It is consistently perfect. Certainly a chic location but it is the definition of value for money. Utterly incredible. Make sure you stay after dinner for some of the best cocktails in the world. See you soon!

Dining in the living room is a fantastic experience. I’ve been a frequent visitor of Meraki ever since the bar opened and I’ve had many many unforgettable nights. Seng, Alain and Olivier are fantastic hosts and always make it an enjoyable evening. Only thing I’d change is bring back the Zeus cocktail. See you all again soon

Love this place! A very cosy dinner spot with a great weekend vibe with DJs. One of my go-tos in London!

Took private hire of the "Living Room" space recently which is the downstairs space hidden away from the main bar. It's a fully independent space within Meraki with it's own bar, sound system, comfortable banquet seating and two vaulted "caves". It also has it's own private bathrooms. We catered for 45 guests for a stand up canape & bowl food scenario followed by a DJ until late (extended license until 3am is possible). From the initial contact with Clara-Louise who guided us through the booking and event planning, to Patrick, Antony, Vincent and the rest of the fabulous team on the night it was perfect. Having arranged many events I can hand on heart say this team was by far the most genuine and caring I've come across. I should also mention Chris, the doorman, who was a true gent and a pleasure to chat to. If you are looking for an exclusive upmarket speakeasy vibe with the added benefit of one of London's top restaurant kitchens upstairs supplying the food then look no further! We've eaten in the main restaurant countless times and will continue to return time and time again. Thank you again to the entire Meraki team! You made a special event spectacular!

Nothing spectacular, especially if you are Greek and you know the real thing. Spinach risotto with the cod was really great though. The place was very crowded, the service somewhat inattentive and the prices not justified by the quality

Uncomfortable experience. The waiters were clearly instructed to hurry us along. Eventually we were told that our table was needed for the next set of customers. The individual waiters were fine and apologetic but the atmosphere was tainted. Food was ok but not great. Also expensive. Won't return
