Mercado 1 de Surquillo

Marketplace with stalls selling fruit, meat, souvenirs, clothes. When we visited the inside space was closed, it was all outdoor stalls (perhaps it's no longer open inside?). Not a huge place, just a few rows of stalls. Fun to try some fruits previously unknown to us. Sellers don't hassle you to buy from them, which is nice.

Awesome local market with beautiful fresh produce and very good value food stalls. Good vibe & very safe, great place to wander around for a while to marvel at the amazing produce Peru has to offer.

It is a must visit. They have a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and dried fruits. You can buy fresh juices, smoothies and sandwiches. As a tourist would recommend going with a guide here so that you can learn more about the local produce.

Large local market. Excellent selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood. A nice stop if you’re in Miraflores Lima Peru Not a top turistic attraction, but in my personal opinion a place you should visit if you want to explore the “local” side of Peru. Enjoy it I wish we’d have more fruits and vegetables in US, not to mention the prices, 0.99 cents for an orange 🍊 🥲 in Florida 🇵🇪

I'd say it is a must visit. It's really cool to see the fruits, veggies and all of that being sold. I was a bit taken back with all the meat hanging, but I guess that's normal in their cuisine. You can also buy fresh juices everywhere, cheviche and sandwiches.

Very cool place to spend time and eat fresh ceveche..very fresh!! The abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables is mind boggling. The vendors are great, and not aggressive as are some foreign mercados can be. Loved it!
