"Our first week is all about hitting our favorite spots — like this great open-air market, Mercado San Agustin. I’ve found that midweek, it’s more laid-back, which is always a bonus. There’s both food and shopping — you can get flowers from Bloom Maven, and get lunch from this great taco spot, Seis. We go there a lot, so I try to order something different every time, but their guacamole is delicious, and I’m a sucker for a good al pastor taco."

So, my first time here, I'll try to be short.. but first things first there is parking next to the restaurant but I do think it's a shared lot. I went around 6:20-6:30 pm. There was plenty of parking around that time, so I was unsure if there was a busy point during any other time frame. I did get a little lost trying to find the entrance it's on the side/back. Staff were all super friendly and attentive, which is a huge plus for me.. the food tasted great. There will be pictures to follow. Dessert was not as many selections as I would have preferred as well as meals go.. but I did go with a work party, so it could have been it was a set menu.. but all in all, I would give this place a 4 star because the atmosphere was nice. Waiters are attentive food did taste great there was some things I wasn't to happy about. Like there Cesar salad... it looked nicer than it was.. a bit hard to eat without looking like a pig trying to shove a full lettuce in your mouth.. haha, and also not your normal Cesar salad.. and prices are a bit high, but the quantity was fair.. Definitely would recommend i will most likely be coming back and next time check out the bathrooms.. normally, I check but forgot to this time around

This is such a nice, upcoming part of town and is a great place to grab a beverage, a snack, and people watch!

Google
A super cute spot but the restaurants have outdoor seating so it can be hot. They do their best to cool you off with misters and shade, just be prepared with a hat, sunglasses, or whatever you need to stay cool.

Looking to switch up your usual brunch, lunch, or dinner? This spot offers a variety of options from Tucson’s beloved La Estrella 2 bakery, along with dishes from other local favorites—all with that authentic Tucson flavor.

Google
Despite visiting this as a tourist when it was rainy, We really enjoyed the coffee (Presta) and the donuts provided by the bakery (La Estrella) in the Mercado. Due to the rain, it was hard to find seating as all the indoors spaces were taken, and there wasn’t many in general. However, Tucson being in the desert and I’m sure we just got unlucky and most people probably just sit outside. If staying downtown during our trip, we would’ve frequently gone to this place for breakfast and at least once for dinner. I would also recommend walking around the area, as there were some really nice streets with good spots to check out desert landscaping, and old historic homes. Th zone around definitely seems like an up-and-coming area and will change as time goes on. I would say this was one of the urban highlights for me in Tucson.

Google
Ate at Seis! Food was wonderful and service was great. Drawback is just one register to get a food order in and a long line develops in the hot sun. It's worth it, but it seems like is doesn't have to be that way! Yet I still recommend!

Google
Wonderful place to spend the day! Beautiful ambiance with a huge patio, an array of specialty shops and restaurants. Great place for out of town visitors to get that Tucson feeling!

Jacob Martínez

Google
Great brunch at Seis; delicious pastries from La Estrella. Coffee from Presta is always good. Lots of great shops and other options.

Yelp
The wonderful thing about coming to Mercado San Agustin in Tucson is that it's contained- but in a relaxing way. This outdoor market is small enough that you can cover the whole place and make a day out of it. It features a nice mix of boutiques, artisan shops and cafes all nestled around a courtyard creating an inviting feel. My kid and I enjoyed a smoothie and fresh pressed juice on a gorgeous warm morning. Even if you aren't shopping, you can still grab a bite from one of the eateries, get a bench or chair and enjoy.
google avatar

Annette L.

Yelp
Cute lil hang out! Lots of goodies to be had. The coffee was delicious if a little bit spendy. The pastries at La Estrella are fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. The courtyard is lovely just be aware a lot of the outside seating is claimed by the restaurants. We shared a table with some friendly folks since seating is limited on a busy weekend. Overall a great vibe and want to return to try out restaurants.

Yelp
Mercado San Agustin District: A Vibrant Community Oasis @mercadodistricttucson Mercado San Agustin is more than just a market; it's the heart of a thriving community. While the market itself boasts a delightful collection of local shops and eateries, such as @la_estrellabakery and @agustinkitchen, the true charm lies in the surrounding neighborhood. A World Away from Suburbia The architecture here is a refreshing departure from the typical American suburbs. Here, houses are built with local materials and designed to foster interaction. Forget sprawling lawns and car-centric living; the Mercado District encourages walking, meeting your neighbors in plazas, and enjoying a true sense of community. Award-Winning Design The neighborhood itself is a marvel of design. Moule & Polyzoides Architects (@moule_polyzoides) have crafted a space that seamlessly blends traditional aesthetics with modern functionality. With eight blocks, seven plazas, and a stop on the Tucson streetcar line, the Mercado District is both beautiful and conveniently accessible, reminiscent of San Miguel de Allende. Many of the homes are tucked closely together, with inner courtyards filled with fountains and plants, or rooftop patios for watching a sunset. A Breath of Fresh Air If you're looking for a place that celebrates community, sustainability, and local character, then Mercado San Agustin is a must-visit. It's a place where you can ditch the car, embrace the outdoors, and connect with the vibrant energy of Tucson. Down the street you will find the MSA Annex. A series of shops, cafes and eateries serving local goods, all houses within repurposed shipping containers.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
MSA, MSA Annex, and Monier have a nice mix of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and unique storefronts. We usually come for Seis, Presta, Decibel, or Beaut Burger. But, places like Why I Love Where I Live and Petroglyphs are great for visitors or just to drop in periodically. It's great to have a place to support so many locally owned businesses.
google avatar

Carolyn C.

Yelp
A must place to visit in AZ. Great shops and eating. We went back the second day and tried the breakfast tacos. Stop by Petroglyphs for fun artwork and Mexican themed decor.
google avatar

Rain Bow T.

Yelp
For something out of the ordinary you should visit this outdoor/indoor market with food, coffee, shopping, and socializing opportunities. Everything is locally owned and operated so is a great opportunity to support the Tucson community. It is somewhat convenient with good parking and a couple great spots to eat a full meal or just top in for pastries and coffee.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
Great food! The courtyard very nice to relax and enjoy wonderful food and drinks. The tacos were amazing!
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
A must visit in downtown Tuscon, the Mercado San Agustin is a small but mighty mercado around a small outdoor courtyard in the old section of town now called the "Mercado District" by smart local relators. A couple of the better restaurants in town (Sei's Kitchen) are located here with outdoor dining, one of the best Mexican bakeries (panaderia staple La Estrella), a couple terrific boutiques with antiques (La Cabana) and local wears and one of the best coffee houses in town. Don't miss it. Small but worthwhile.
google avatar

Carolyn T.

Yelp
Cute little courtyard converted into little bakeries and restaurants. Seems to be the hangout before Embarking on long group Bike rides
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
This cute little outdoor plaza is a true Tucson gem. I wish there were more places in town like Mercado as it's got so much to offer for every kind of visitor. Grab a coffee at Presta, a pastry at La Estrella and some food at Seis. You can even do a little shopping! We used to come here after hiking Tumamoc and it was always a nice treat. They have lots of events that happen like night markets and weekend thrift shops. Check it out if you're in town visiting or even a local looking for something to do.

Yelp
COVID19 Update: It's about time for an update. I love the MSA. It's home to locally owned businesses that reflects what our Tucson community is all about. All of the businesses are open with the pandemic going on, but with some adjustments! Know before you go: Mask up! Even entering the mercado, please wear a mask. They have signage up to remind the public. The shared courtyard which was formerly a place for people to gather, enjoy a meal, coffee or listen to music is no longer open for those activities. The tables have been moved out. But if you wish to sit on the stairs in the patio, you are welcome to. To Eat and Drink: Agustin Kitchen: Open for takeout and dine in on the patio. Seis Kitchen: to go only. Presta Coffee Roasters: takeout only. You can order online directly from their website or order in person. La Estrella Bakery: Open for normal hours. It's always been a takeout type of set-up. Dolce Pastello and Sonoran Sno-Cones are also open and have always been a takeout ordering system. To Shop, there's MAST, Bloom Maven floral and plant shop, San Agustin Trading Co, La Cabaña. Check with each store for their hours. The Thursday farmers market is still operating during COVID19 with changes to the operation to make it safe for everyone. The market runs in the morning during the Summer time. Thursdays from 8:00-10:00am They have set-up a drive up market. Checkout their updates here: https://www.communityfoodbank.org/Our-Work/Programs/Farmers-Markets/Markets Parking: There is a dedicated parking lot West of the entrance of the Mercado District. Follow @MercadoSanAgustin on Instagram for daily updates!

Yelp
This is a must if you visit Tucson! The staff was amazing (Tanya helped us and was very knowledgeable on the menu), the outdoor dining was perfect and the food was fantastic. We came late in the evening on a Monday, so there wasn't much going on, but it wasn't too crowded and we got seated right away. The food and cocktails were on par and just what we were looking for. We couldn't have picked a better place for dinner with friends and we will for sure be back.
google avatar

Desiree B.

Yelp
What can I say, this location is one of my favorite places to just relax, people-watch, and grab something to eat and drink. I love all the choices and the events are the best.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Not much going on today, a Sunday. The flea market I usually attend next door was not in operation, so the area was very quiet. The typical food places were open, but many of the shops were not open on Sunday. Is there another Mexican Market in a Tucson I don't know about.

Alysha C.

Yelp
I love it here at the Mercado. Delicious food and music on weekend evenings. My favorite place.
google avatar

Lindsey H.

Yelp
This place has it all. Great restaurants and shops, and a cute bakery and coffee shop, this place is a one stop shop with awesome atmosphere. Matcha latte and oak milk latte hit the spot! Soooo yummy! Heavenly little area in a great part of town. Another reason why I love Tucson!
google avatar

P H.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious also extremely happy to see they had many gluten free options. I had gluten free chicken salad sandwich with fries while others in my group had burgers a bit greasy. My other guests had salad calamari and Cesar. All together not bad. Was a little slow but it was very busy.

MariiaWithAbunn ..

Yelp
Aesthetically beautiful. Seis restaurant is amazing. Food is satisfying. Drink menu is great. Great for kids and dog!
google avatar

McKenzie S.

Yelp
The cutest little marketplace you've ever been to. The overall aesthetic and vibe here is trendy and casual as well as warm and welcoming. I fell in love with everything here. From the gorgeous courtyard, mature trees, and patio seating. It was so nice to grab an iced coffee and just enjoy the day. There are so many great shops and restaurants in The Mercado. Literally something for everyone. Like Lyly N mentioned, of all the places in Tucson this is where I miss most!
google avatar

Hannah J.

Yelp
What a cute place! Located in downtown Tucson, this place offers unique shopping all held within a lovely atmosphere. We absolutely adored the flower shop. Very friendly customer service, and the quality of each flower product was fantastic. I didn't notice anything wilted, and the employees answered all of my questions about this one type of succulent (super exciting stuff). The desserts were interesting. Mexican styled desserts that are unique and not too sweet.
google avatar

Michelle M. A.

Yelp
I always enjoy the atmosphere when we visit the Mercado. My first stop is always for coffee. This morning I enjoyed a Dirty Chai Latte. It was perfect! As an added bonus he warmed up my travel cup with hot water first. Then I like to grab a breakfast burrito from Seis. Unfortunately, it was too early to enjoy breakfast at Seis I'll catch them next trip! Saturday mornings are my favorite day because the traffic is lighter. Sunday mornings they are slammed. The line for Seis is out the front gates and there are several bicyclist groups. I think what impresses me though is that even when they are slammed the quality is still there in every sip and in every bite. I am usually there too early for the shopping but I can window shop.
google avatar

Coco Q.

Yelp
There's really not much going on here. 2 restaurants. 2 stores. Theres no where to sit if u get a pastry. There's nothing wrong but i won't be back.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Mercado San Agustin. The property itself is beautiful, charming, peaceful, serene, and always clean and cared for. In the center, there's the courtyard with some green space and a variety of different seating options for the various eating spots in the building that boxes around the courtyard. The seating is all shaded, and most of it is comfortable. There's also some relatively new, decent, shared seating with longer tables inside the building, near Stella Java/Sonora SnoCones. Seating inside was much needed for a long time, so it's good to see that it has been added! The shops inside of the Mercado are locally owned and they make fantastic products. You can get everything from breakfast burritos to lunch to fancy dinner to dessert to coffee here, and all at different shops! It's awesome! There's also some shops to buy knick knacks, furniture, and decorations. Most stuff is more rustic in style, which is not for me, but I still love walking through the shops. What I love so much about my time here is the feel of the atmosphere. It feels like you're in a quaint little neighborhood, where everyone is relaxed and nice to interact with. I always feel so at peace here, and I never want to leave. It's a real gem in Tucson, for sure! And now, the streetcar stops here! No excuse to not go to the Mercado and try some of the awesome foods and treats available there! You won't regret your time there!

Yelp
I love visiting Mercado San Agustin, the ambiance is super relax and the patio seating area is just perfect. The public restrooms are clean too so thats a plus.

Yelp
Outstanding environment. Best vegan burger I ever had in my life. Kind people, great food, top notch drinks definitely worth a date night!
google avatar

Shahla H.

Yelp
This a great place to chill with friends and enjoy music and good food and bakery options. They also have a farmers market set up on Thursdays with fresh produce from local farms. The place has so much to offer and has a great vibe. Definitely a place to check out for one who wants to have good food, or grab a delicious cup of coffee and pastry and meander to the farmers market to support local businesses. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
I'm a neighbor and regular fixture at the Mercado! They have really stepped up their game over the years I'm been coming. It's always well groomed and has a chill vibe. There is live music on Friday's nights and they have great local businesses. AK Kitchen is great for a date night dinner, Seis makes an awesome breakfast burro, Presta for a perfect cappuccino, and Estrella for some Mexican pastries! A more recent addition is Bloom Mavin which makes great floral arrangements! I feel so lucky to have all this in my back yard
google avatar

Maris D.

Yelp
Only had a few hours in Tucson and someone recommended this area. Was perfect for window/souvenir shopping (check out Why I Love Where I Live). Lots of parking too!
google avatar

Bill L.

Yelp
This is a pleasant place to go or just to kill time. There are several restaurants, two bakeries a coffee shop and a number of stores. It's a nice treed courtyard with tables and chairs. Tucson needs more public spaces like this.
google avatar

Casey G.

Yelp
My friend took me to this fun gem. I love the feel of the Mercado. Outside dining with different vendors. There is a Mexican diner, a bar, bakery, cafe, and other small shopping stores. All the businesses come together in a courtyard where you can relax to enjoy some live music and the evening. I only had some chips and salsa but the Mexican restaurant's menu looked amazing. I hear their breakfast burritos are delicious. I can't wait to go back and share the Mercado with friends.
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
My mom and I had a great afternoon at the market and the annex. Cute shops, got a birthday gift for my sister-in-laws birthday too!

Cherice H.

Yelp
This is a very upscale shopping area, but the restaurants are not. So I'm confused by it. We ended up just eating at the Habit burger by our hotel instead.

Yelp
Bomb tacos, coffee, bakery and a bar!!!! All in a Beautiful and clean patio, with comfortably quiet environment and friendly servers. Yes, a thousand times year, perfect for any situation, meeting, families, dates. Plenty of parking. Tucson must!

Yelp
So, my boyfriend and I went here for their Cinco De Mayo Block Party. There are a lot of shops and a few restaurants. Apparently the restaurants are good, though we did not try any (the lines for these places were wrapped around the block). I think the best way to describe this place is an in town Tubac - i.e. a tourist trap. There are some interesting shops, but they sell nothing that you will ever need. It kinda makes you wonder why it is there, especially the MSA Annex that they have built on the other side. The Annex is a group of shops that you will have never guessed were shops from the outside. They look like rusted cargo carriers on trains. The insides are gorgeous, but you would never guess that from the outside. Apparently a huge hotel is going to be built in that area, which in correlation makes the shops that have opened in this area make more sense, but right now it is just a dusty construction site. This site has a lot of potential...right now, it doesn't really make sense. I will,be back though to try those restaurants. They look good.

Yelp
If this wasn't the surprise of this trip!!! My son brought us to Seis for dinner- an amazing dinner! We also ended up with the most amazing pan dulce!! Very quaint location! The horchata at Seis, hands down the best ever!!! I had the quesadilla and it was perfectly delicious with my pickle pear limón!
google avatar

Yelp
My girls participated in the Food Day event this past Sunday at this location, and not only was the event SPECTACULAR! but the space is indeed very nice, and the commercial kitchen is awesome. It really has everything a caterer or cooking class could possibly need. My girls really liked the courtyard and the shops as well. My only complaint is that every time I have tried to contact the management about using their kitchen space, I received no response. Then many months later when I tried again, I finally received responses from two different people only to tell me that they were full and not taking any new renters. They also said they would get back to me with an update within a month. Well it's been 4 months and nothing! Anyway, so 4 stars for the facilities and coolness of the place.

Yelp
What a lovely space!!!!!!!!!!!! I was here for a canning class, hosted by Food Swap Tucson. Lorraine Glazar schooled us on traditional water bath canning. Water bath canning requires no fancy equipment and is easy to do at home. Lorraine shared her esoteric recipes for tomatoes, prickly pear preserves and an onion relish. We even got to take home the jelly and the onion relish....I was really lemming for the tomatoes too! FAQ: Q: What is Food Swap Tucson? A: It is an uber cool group of bakers, gardeners, cooks who assemble and swap food! They also, host canning classes!!!!!!! I believe the next one is going to be on olives. I should mention, you may be swapping and hob nobing with some of the chefs who host underground supper clubs. I was so jazzed to work inside of the 1, 300 sq. ft. commercial kitchen, something I had never done before. This kitchen is brand spankin new, sparkly clean, top notch equipment. 6 burners, 2 commercial grade ovens, plenty of preparation and packaging room, two steam trays, two chilled sandwich tables, 40 lb. fryer, broilers, and the refrigerator/freezer/dry storage space. What an asset to the community....esp. small craft local food businesses! Even many of our tasty food trucks use the space. They have lockers to store your equipment (you need to bring your own pots/pans) for the frequent patrons. Get this! You can rent it between 5 and 20 dollars an hour! I seriously am considering putting on some Indian and Thai cooking classes to share my mad skills. After class, I checked out the bakery, the taqueria, the brasserie, and sno cone place.....all looked really nice. People were noshing on pasteriesand scrumptous Mexican egg dishes in the open air courtyard under the cerulean sky, while two musicians merrily played some sweet tunes. I spied some super cool locally-made products for sale, some really cool jewelry and some lucha libre pinatas that could festoon the best of the best shin digs! Pictures coming soon.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful market surrounding the inside courtyard. Some really good food options. Why not five stars? It is pretty pricey.
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
The Mercado has been a welcomed addition to Tucson's Westside. It has been and continues to be the destination of many cultural events. Every Thursday there is a delightful farmers market in the courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by shops serving coffee, food, Mexican bake goods, raspados and more. It's also a stop on Tucson's Sunlink. This time of year it's perfect weather to enjoy a bite to eat or a meet up with friends to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Yelp
Beautiful interior, awesome location, and great shops! While not everything is open yet, the Mercado San Agustin still shows a lot of promise. I have a feeling when this place gets going, that is will be one great location. While things are still getting ramped up, you should definitely check out Taqueria El Pueblito for some amazing and authentic Southern Mexico cuisine. I love their Al Pastor burrito! Lebanese style shawarma in a burrito, that's amazing! If you like cooking for yourself, and have always wanted to play with some high end cooking equipment, consider renting their shared kitchen for some of your gatherings. With their truly affordable rates, this may be one offer people have a difficult time passing up. Stop by Holly's Little Farm for some delicious and unprocessed honey from the Tucson and Phoenix area. If the amazing tastes don't get you, the allergy benefits just might. You have to go to La Estrella Bakery. They have the nicest people I've ever met on their staff, and their baked goods are incredible. Pretty soon they will be doing a mural explaining the history of their bakery, and the origins of their unique and tasty breads. These are just a couple of the reasons to go check out the open market at Mercado San Agustin. Go for yourself, and discover all the rest!

Yelp
Cafe Agustin Restaurant I've eaten here twice. I'm not impressed. Mediocre food. Mediocre/ forgetful service.
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
Cool place clearly under development. We attended a holiday craft fair here before Christmas and even though it was crowded there was a great selection of artists. I am glad we ate first because there were long lines for the food offerings but whomever handles the marketing is doing a great job. We even found parking which I was shocked by. I want to go back to try some of the restaurants next time.
google avatar

Eidderf O.

Yelp
Expensive Burrito LOTS OF RICE LESS MEET! Just hang around and maybe order some chips and that's it! I always like to buy Adobo Burrito but after 3 visits here I realized they just put so much rice to make the burrito bigger!
google avatar

Alexa R.

Yelp
I love everything about this place. La Estrella, the coffee place, Seis Kitchen... mmmm. This place has great vibe to it as well and it's in a convenient location. Close to downtown but also slightly on the west side with good parking options.

Yelp
Of all the places I will miss in Tucson, Mercado San Agustin is what I will miss most. This outdoor marketplace is so cute and relaxing. The courtyard has plenty of seating and is surrounded by a number of different shops. The shops range from clothing, restaurants, a bike shop and bakeries! Presta Coffee and La Estrella Bakery were the two shops I frequented the most, Seis Restaurant is also very tasty. The overall ambiance is so comforting and relaxing. It is definitely an awesome place to chill with friends or even by yourself. There is plenty of parking along Avenida del Convenido, whether in the extra lots or the 2 hour parking spots. This place gets pretty busy, especially around lunchtime and on the weekends so there may be limited seating available in the outdoor courtyard. Regardless of how crowded it is, Mercado San Agustin definitely a place to check out! Definitely one of the more unique places in Tucson.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Local new shops, lots of Restaurants, lots of very unusual things to see on the Westside of town. This area is in it's infancy stage but you can see from the crowds of people that in years to come this is going to be the "hippest" part of Tucson. Unusual types of housing is starting to develop here. Linked up with the Trolley so it is so convenient for visitors to tour of beautiful town. Coming here on Cinco de Mayo made it more special today. Will be back to check out any further developments. Looked like the shell of an apartment complex was in the early stages.

Yelp
Love this place! I have visited every shop and eaten at every resturant/bakery. The patio is great, calm & relaxing. Farmers market on Thursdays have all the great local familes come together. Really all you need is here!

Randy V.

Yelp
I went to San Augustine Cafe for lunch today and was disappointed. It was a holiday and they were fairly busy but not packed. Waitress was slow in getting to our table and explained that they only had 2 servers working - poor planning. Drinks were slow to come and had trouble getting the server to return for refills. I ordered a simple BLT and it was served without tomato! When I pointed it out, the waitress brought me a few cherry tomatoes. Not good. Price was $14.00 for a bacon/lettuce sandwich. Won't be back!

Yelp
A variety of foods and delicious drinks as well as a outgoing & fresh atmosphere. I've had the French inspired food, Mexican food and the pastries... the best part of the place (for me). On our way out there was a farmers markets setting up in the center or the building area. That was awesome. Before we left we also grabbed a coffee with horchata in it. The best !!! Good customer service and if you're there and they have the tamales out for sell, DO NO MISS OUT.
