"The notorious 19th floor of the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel is where droves of Charlotteans chase long, lighter nights and have a chatty good time around the sleek fire pits, couches, and standing tables showing off cityscape skies. Visitors also usually take photos (of the drinks and themselves). As for the drinks, chai and fig extracts add personality to a typical gin cocktail, and the mint and amaro do the same for the mezcal drink. Cocktail prices are on the higher end, around $17-$20. Nonalcoholic drinks are ample. Although it’s a staple spot for pre- and post-dinner sips, the food menu has some sneaky good bites, like the whiskey-glazed sweet potato hushpuppies or the pimento cheese and pork rind plate." - Kayleigh Ruller

"Although it’s undeniably swanky, Merchant & Trade, the chic rooftop bar at the Kimpton, has the ability to morph into whatever you need it to be, whether it's post-work cocktails with co-workers or a romantic spot for a date. When it comes to drinks, you can order the classics, but give the unique house cocktails a try. The Velvet Slipper features Tito’s vodka, blueberry syrup, lemon juice, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, and hibiscus saline; the Blushing Belle is made with gin, lemon juice, lavender syrup, raspberry syrup, cherry bark vanilla bitters, and egg white foam." - Lauren Levine

Went in on a Saturday night for friends birthday celebration. All staff members including security were very polite and accommodating. I was able to make my way in to the establishment with my knee mobility scooter no problem at all. The vibes were great, with a DJ performing catchy unique beats. There is no dress code here which is nice especially when you are just venturing around the charlotte area looking for something to do. There are both open seating and reserved areas all with wonderful views of the city. After looking around for a few minutes for somewhere to sit, a staff member spotted us, kindly explained how the seating areas worked and guided us towards some open seating areas. Although a bit crowded, I had no issues making my way throughout the area with my mobility scooter. Our party of 3 was able to find a lovely open seating area at a cozy tabletop fire pit. The cocktails we ordered were beautifully crafted with fresh ingredients & candied cherries for a garnish. Perfect location if you are looking for an upscale yet casual friendly date night or somewhere to decompress with family and friends. Added to my list of places to drop in again whenever Im back in the area.

Google
Very good rooftop bar in Charlotte with very good views. Drinks are nice and food is also delicious. Only downside is service can be a bit slow, but staff were apologetic and when our drinks and food arrived, it was very good! We returned every evening for drinks and to enjoy the view Be warned, on a Saturday evening it basically becomes a club. If chilled out is your vibe i do not recommend Saturday evenings

Google
I would go there for the fantastic view and atmosphere, not the cocktails. Got way better, bigger and cheaper ones elsewhere. Super overpriced and basic in my opinion. Only three (!!!) non alcoholic cocktails also. That was disappointing. Otherwise very fancy people, great dj and attentive staff. Their desk policy is also very smart. Went Friday around 8pm, after 9/10pm very packed.

Google
We had a great view of the baseball game from the roof! We weren’t huge baseball fans, but it was fun to see, along with the sunset skyline. Drinks were really good, they’ve got so many liquor choices. It was packed! Even for being a Tuesday night, but the bartenders were working pretty quickly, and were still polite and made good cocktails.

Google
Drinks are good. Service is decent. Sometimes attentive sometimes youll be left waiting to order. One of the best rooftops in Charlotte though

Google
Wow ! What do I say about this place , justice makes great lavender martinis !! Shoutout to him for being knowledgeable! And Cecilia is outstanding, it’s my birthday and I was so particular about everything . She did everything with a smile ! Love them both ! Coming back soon . Highly recommended

Google
Great drinks and atmosphere! Our server was Allie—she is the best!! And Eric the bartender makes the best drinks! Great rooftop views too!

The bartender exceeded my expectations, creating a drink with my favorite flavor and rum, the music was great and the views were outstanding.

Yelp
Came on a weeknight to catch up with a friend. Beautiful view, great service, good cocktails and tasty food. We were seated right away at a high top table in doors, but still had a clear view of outside. I tried: - Pork & Brussels: the brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy and the whiskey cane syrup balanced out the saltiness of the pork belly. I also love cheese in all forms so the parmesan was a nice touch - Crab Cake Sliders: these were fine, decent amount of lump crab in each cake, could've used a bit more of aioli - Sweet Corn Hush Puppies: Literally the best hush puppies I have ever had in my entire life. No exaggeration. I don't know what magic yall are working in that kitchen but keep it up. I was pissed I had to share them. Would've eaten a second bowl. All of our cocktails were also well made! No complaints there. Would certainly come back if I were in the area again!

Yelp
This rooftop is a treasure on top of the Kimpton! It is a must see if you are staying in Uptown, I highly recommend you add this to your afternoon or evening plans! It is absolutely beautiful with views of the city, and there are so many gorgeous details from the lighting to the design of the inside bar to the outside deck and patio to the furniture to the fire pits, the seating and even the restrooms - everything is done perfectly. The cocktails are worth every penny to be enjoyed in this unique and special place! Go here.

Emmanuella M.

Yelp
The vibes are always 10/10 here! We ordered the fried chicken sliders which had a lot more breading to chicken ratio than I cared for. The wagyu beef sliders were great. The server was nice and made sure we had our orders in before the kitchen closed.

Caroline F.

Yelp
This place is a vibe! We came here after visiting a more disappointing rooftop. This was all-around a better experience. The view was stellar, the interior was beautiful, our drinks were great and it was lively on a Friday evening despite some light showers. We did have to wait a few minutes for the elevator ride up. We saw a couple get turned away for bringing their child so beware!

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Loved my experience here! Late to review but went a couple of weeks ago with two friends. Did not have a reservation but we went pretty early so lucked out. Our server was super attentive and always knew when to check in and ask if we needed another drink. We got a bottle of Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc and shared their charcuterie board. Obviously, the view was perfect and the mixture of service, yummy food and drink, and a good view made for a wonderful evening.

Dominique C.

Yelp
Hosted an event on the rooftop bar. The views were amazing and it was the perfect ambiance for our vision. The food was great and bar lovely really quickly and smoothly .

Cristen T.

Yelp
Great bar with limited menu. More of a place for drinks. The charcuterie plate is delicious and plenty for 2 people.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Food was pretty good but burger sliders were a bit dry. Good cocktails as well. Atmosphere was great until the DJ started blasting music indoors so be aware of that when dining indoors.

Courtney M.

Yelp
Beautiful city views! I went on a Thursday evening so it wasn't crowded. I had the southern traditions grazing charcuterie boards. If you like pickled things, you'll love this one.

Yelp
This is a nice spot to go to for Nightcap, Happy Hour or Date Night Uptown Charlotte. The rooftop bar has beautiful skyline views, extensive cocktail menu and cozy ambiance and gorgeous aesthetics. We stopped in shortly after 9pm on a Wednesday night and walked right in. There wasn't a crowd so we didn't need reservations. They do accept walk-ins for the bar and lounge areas. We sat at the bar and the mixologist Tay was very helpful in helping us select a few cocktails. I wanted something sweet and fruity and my friend just wanted something strong! We ordered the Rob's Zombie and Long Island Ice Tea. The cocktails were pretty strong and refreshing but too much ice in my opinion. When the glass is filled with tons of ice it's hard to drink because you have to keep rearranging your straw to get to the liquid. I was a bit disappointed by that because I asked for drink without ice. Next time I will try the espresso martini. The fire pits and views were definitely the selling point of this visit. We could see the ice skaters at Truist field and pedestrians walking along Uptown. With the weather starting to cool off having a nice heated rooftop is a plus. The igloos won't be coming back this winter but there is now additional lounge space. I'll be checking back for events happening here.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Our favorite go to spot. Great mix of ages and all people. Yummy food and strong drinks. Go early to catch a couch or table. They are more of a club scene under the roof and a comfy lounge area under the open sky. Beautiful view of the city.

Donna L.

Yelp
So I've decided to give this place one more try and they don't cease to disappoint. The process to get upstairs is a little inefficient to say the least. Coming for a large city there is a much better way to curve the crowd than drawing a false narrative on crowd size. It's might be a Charlotte thing. And then to add insult to injury after purchasing 2 rounds of drink after sitting in the table with the fire pit there was a cockroach roach that decided to make an appearance. Needless to say I didn't get to finish my cocktail because I went to see the manager. The waitress that killed the roach didn't move it she killed it and left it there. Please see my picture. I was so disappointed and disgusting. I think the same waitress I believe went to tell the manager as well. While waiting for the manager for 10 minutes the bouncer and hostess killed another 2 cockroach. Which one they left on the floor. I wasn't going to post this photo but this but again it took way too long for the manager to come. The manager mentioned pest control spraying downstairs which I believe was the hotel and that they said some pest may come upstairs. Which you could see the dumbfounded look on my face. If it was known that the cockroach's in the building would travel up to the open air roof top maybe it should have been closed for that day or treatment done during that week vs on the weekend.

Yelp
I asked the bartender to recommend me a drink since I don't really drink cocktails much - i asked for something sweet and refreshing and she recommended the 'Kind of a Pornstar'. This drink was so yummy! and it also looked amazing , i loved it! I thought the view of this place was great, we got to see Charlotte downtown while drinking - we hadn't made a reservation here but we were still able to get seated on Saturday night, however I would recommend making a reservation beforehand to get the better seats (they have more comfier ones seated around a fireplace too). We also got truffle appetizer to share amongst the three of us and i thought these were very delicious! It was enough for the three of us as appetizers and the texture was perfect - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The truffle sauce was really good with the fries !!

Yelp
Company had their annual Christmas party at the location. The location cater to what the company wanted as far as color theme, matching pillows and food to go with the ambience. All all the staff was friendly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that everyone was having a great time during their holiday party.

Marharyta K.

Yelp
Merchant and Trade is my absolute favorite rooftop in Charlotte! Their cocktail menu offers everything from timeless classics to signatures and seasonal drinks. They even craft a Carajillo, a classic Spanish-Mexican cocktail with espresso and Licor 43, which is a rare find in Charlotte. Among the must-tries are the robust M&T Old Fashioned, perfect for those who like it strong, and the Rosemary's Baby, a cozy drink that tastes like a Christmas tree! And for those sweet-toothed souls, the Queen Bee cocktail is an absolute delight. Unlike many bars, Merchant and Trade pairs its drinks with equally good food. The burger, the charcuterie board, and the octopus - everything is on the level. The ambiance is top-notch, with panoramic windows allowing the city's energy to flow right into your soul. The ceiling, adorned with LED lamps, adds a touch of glamour. However, the masterpiece is the terrace, where you can enjoy the city's skyline and cozy up next to the fireplace. This spot is in high demand, and the weekends draw crowds. If you desire a seat, I strongly recommend making a reservation. Waiting in line? About 30 minutes. Waiting for your drink? Another 20-30 minutes. It's worth it, but plan accordingly. They play the music to suit every taste, from reggaeton to 2000s hits, R&B, and rap, setting the perfect mood for the night. Yes, the place is a bit on the pricey side, but the experience is worth it, and you will have an unforgettable upscale night out. There's just one downside: they close at midnight, which feels like the party ends way too early.

Cameika H.

Yelp
Merchant and Trade has one of the best rooftop views in the city. I prefer dining in the evening to have a better experience. The food is always amazing and the staff are very friendly. The oysters and crab dip are my favorite dishes. The drinks were also great.

Alecia C.

Yelp
I've only been to Merchant and Trade at night and view is absolutely beautiful. On both occasions, getting in was hassle free and completely free to get in. I'm unsure if there was a strict dress code, but outfits ranged from casual to upscale. For guys, I would recommend dressy to business casual attire and girls were wearing heels for the most part. My only points off would be for the drinks and the musical selection. The average price of a drink is around $15. I ordered a Mexican Mule and I don't think the drink was made correctly because it tasted like seltzer water. I didn't taste any ginger beer and there was a COPIOUS amount of ice in the drink. The DJ played a wide variety of music to cater to a diverse crowd, however, the music was outdated. This place is very chill and a nice place to relax and wind down with friends. I would certainly recommend this place for a good first date or to bring friends/family from out of town.

Chandra J.

Yelp
Gorgeous views with an amazing vibe! My mom, cousin, and I hung out here on Sunday night and had a time! Yes, it was Sunday night, but it did not feel like a Sunday night as tons of people were out enjoying the view, weather, and the music. The DJ was phenomenal as he was spinning a great mix of new and old school rnb, pop, and disco. Our waitress was very nice and informative. She recommended the Flatbread, steak sliders, and Brussel Sprouts. All were super good! The flat bread was stuffed full of mushrooms, peppers, cheese, and a nice drizzle of sweetness. My mom and cousin devoured their steak sandwiches and their Brussel Sprouts. I am not a fan of this veggie, so I took a bite and passed. Minus one star for the lack of fire pits outside. As the weather gets colder, they need to have more areas to warm up. I think more people would've been outside if there had been more heat. One of the areas that has heat was reserved, but the people never showed, and it was super large, too.

Dallas A.

Yelp
Went to Merchant and Trade for a company dinner -- I was visiting from out of town and had no expectations because I'd never heard of it. Turns out that it's a rooftop cocktail bar with a fantastic view of the city. The food was excellent--loved the sirloin and mashed potatoes, and the charcuterie board was nice for snacking. And while I don't drink, I had a mocktail that was flavorful, but a bit sweet for my taste. As the night grew later, the lights grew dimmer and the music grew louder. Definitely gives off club-like vibes after 10:00p. It was very difficult to hold a conversation and I found myself starting to get a headache because of all the noise. Fun place to go if you're looking for a dinner/drink spot with a view. Just know that it's on the pricier side and turns into a club late at night.

Adriana S.

Yelp
Great view and great service! Shout out to Jess, our server, who made our first visit a memorable one. Delicious food and drinks, combined with a great ambiance, play list and view. This rooftop can give you a taste of Charlotte's night life. We will definitely comeback!

Monica M.

Yelp
Your mileage may vary. Parking is painful and expensive. The area is not nice. There are people fighting and living in the park. The same park where all those shootings took place. This is a very fancy rooftop in a part of town I don't think you should be in at night, let alone be drinking alcohol and trying to navigate the dangerous neighborhood. The bar itself is clean and has a kitch vibe. The prices are high for drinks and apps as well. The food is nothing notable. The preparation and flavor aren't any better than you could do at home. The presentations are nice. I had a great time here with great friends of mine. If not for these friends the night would have been a complete flop. Waiting for the elevator and all that pomp didn't impress me and really made me feel uncomfortable. It made me more aware that they were trying to control who gets into the place and all the reasons why they need to do this. The same way armed guards and razorwire increase security but don't make you feel more secure.

Chi A.

Yelp
Merchant and Trade was giving vibes on vibes. My cousin used to work here so she hit up one of her colleagues to get us a table. On Friday & Saturday nights, in order to get up to M&T, you have to walk in through the hotel, head to the elevator and get in line. We bypassed the line because we had a table so this is just an FYI. When we got up there, we checked in with the host, who then walked us to our table. The waitress came over, took our drinks and we just caught the vibe. The DJ was playing a very impressive mix of music from all genres. While it was crowded, it didn't feel like anyone was on top of you and there was enough space outside, and inside. There are two bars as well so that reduces the volume of folks trying to get a drink. If you're looking for nice views, good drinks, great music and a blended crowd, this is the place to be!!

Kien H.

Yelp
Dopest rooftop situations I've seen in a while. I can't stress that enough. You can see the baseball game of this one going on, you get a really good view because the balcony part wraps around a little bit, it's very lit and decorated, everything about it is truly dope. You going to pay about $20 for a drink, and of course if you seen my reviews you know what drink I got, but the ambiance is worth it. If it was nice and a ball type season where it was actually cool outside, it will be a really good time to sit out. All the bartenders was really cool, they have a menu of what they do for specials but they can make whatever you need. I felt like they were very knowledgeable and experienced and I would definitely go to them again, because a saffron a drinks they actually had a regular conversation with me as well. When I am in the city, this might be a thing I have to dabble in. I would 10 out of any recommend if you can.

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Had been wanting to visit this location for a while but never able to attend due to not being "appropriately dressed" aka wearing sneakers and athletically dressed. So if you're planning on visiting, dress as if you're going out. When you get to the lobby of the hotel, they make you wait in a space on a red carpet and bar beside us. Then, once they have a count of how many are in your party, they send you up in the elevator, and you arrive at the bar. This is an open concept bar, so make sure you bring a jacket or sweater to be comfortable. We went on a Saturday and it was not really cold but it had been sprinkling a bit. There were heaters throughout the bar, so it was not an uncomfortable night. The view is amazing. In the middle, there is a bar with seating, and then around the bar is plenty of seating as well with views of the seating. Bartenders and everyone were super friendly and efficient when ordering drinks. Def. Will return when we can.

Janelle P.

Yelp
This is the perfect little spot to go on a warm summer night to enjoy beautiful views of the city + the knights baseball game when they're playing! We got our drinks from the bar really quickly (it was a Thursday night though, so I don't know what it's like on a busier night like Saturday). I got a zero proof Madame Blueberry and it was very delicious! Highly recommend.

Albert P.

Yelp
Amazing Service, Beautiful Views, Modern Vibe and EXCELLENT food. I went on a cool and windy night before a big storm and the place was still packed... mostly 30-40s crowd, professional, courteous and appropriately casual/styling. I opted to sit near the edge outside to enjoy the view, the sounds and the atmosphere. Excellent choice, there is less inside space than outside, which is perfect for this venue. Starting with the charcuterie board for 2-people.... PERFECT size, not small, not too big... high-quality selection of cheeses and sliced cured meats. Enough quality crackers and a beautiful mustard and jam... I would get one just for myself next time. The burger was AMAZING... the smash-burger style of the high-end meat in between an amazing bun with fresh toppings. Accompanied by what I would call Burger-king style seasoned fries! Very nice. Dessert: They advertise it as a Carrot Cake... but it is like a little pastry... a candy shelled, covered cake pastry with an AMAZING pumpkin puree and a perfectly sweet cream topping dotted with nuts. VERY, VERY pleasing! Our server was beyond excellent, providing us with information about the food items, the venue and the hot-spots around town! Looking forward to our next visit!

Natavia M.

Yelp
Came to this establishment with a party of 15 for a proposal party and called ahead. When we arrived, we were greeting with staff that seemed to have attitudes and was unnecessarily rude to the ladies when splitting our group apart when it could have been dealt with professionally. Then tries to tell the second group that they're almost at capacity. We ended up leaving early. Unprofessional and untrained security at this place.

Daniel P.

Yelp
it's loud, it's expensive, it's got a flashy colored back wall right in the middle of the block and 19 stories up in uppest part of Charlotte so no surprises yet... the patio is mostly protected from the elements but parts are still open to the sky and all the glories/hazards found there. the view of the park is interesting but the general untidiness of many of the rooftops must needs addressed lest we suffer embarrassments. in town for a bit of fun and frolicking on a warm spring night. a couple drinks and some quiet conversation with the cutest of chicks sitting away from the groups of young people and looking out over the park and the ball field and the rest of thinking it doesn't get much better than this... and then the music man played a song we kinda knew and we danced a little dance :-)

Sylvia R.

Yelp
Nothing beats a great rooftop bar. The views are spectacular and this place is top notch! The drinks seem to taste better when you're 19 floors up! Fresh air, the sounds from the "era" of old school music, sipping on drinks and nibbling on charcuterie, WOW!! This bar is strategically placed atop Kimpton Hotel with striking views of the skyline. Hubby and I arrived just before sunset and found the perfect spot to people watch and take in the breathtaking views of downtown Charlotte. Our server was attentive, super cute and informative. I would definitely revisit this rooftop on a return trip to the city.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Most rooftop spots are overrated (in my opinion) and Merchant and Trade is included in this grouping for me. My friend and I stopped in for a night out and it was a glass of rose for me and an espresso martini for her. The drinks were overpriced but we liked the music. It would not be my first stop for a night out.

Rose E.

Yelp
We haven't had an uptown date night in awhile, so decided to hit a few rooftops, starting with this place. We hoped to avoid the line and the wait, so arrived here super-early, at 5:15 pm...but no luck. There was already a line...and we ended up waiting nearly an hour for a table once we got up to the rooftop. It sucks that they didn't take reservations. Frankly, I expected better. I just didn't like their awkward layout (long, tight quarters...super-busy lounge areas...fussy all over!) and I didn't care for their preppy color scheme (blue/green?). As for the rooftop views, they were good, but not stunning (as I had hoped?). I thought Fahrenheit or Nuvole were much better, for instance. Also, it was pretty hot even nearing 7 pm, and the sun was just relentless throughout the rooftop. If I had to do this again, I'll avoid coming here during the hotter months...and maybe opt for coming in the Fall. Worst part of the experience was the relentless waiting. In fact, we were quite ticked with the unnecessarily long wait...given how there were several tables open, that is! In fact, there were at least 2-3 tables that stayed open for over 30-45 minutes...while we all waited and waited. Ridiculous! Even the bar service was delayed...as it took forever to get our drinks. We didn't care for the overly loud, blaring overhead music either. Anyway, we finally got seated...but not by the overlooking screen, as hoped. No matter, by that point, we just wanted to eat and get the hell out. Well, it took a long time for our foods too (despite the fact that we only ordered 3 small plates). Also, they didn't have the Lobster Roll or the Mahi Mahi Tacos on the menu (as anticipated)....so that was yet another bummer. We ended up ordering Deviled Eggs, Fried Calamari and BBQ Pork Sliders. Luckily, the foods were good enough (good...not great)...and our waitress did her thing...so no big issues there. Overall, we both left thinking that the whole place/experience was a big Cluster***k. Poorly managed all around. We both thought the place was over-rated, over-priced...especially given its bad/slow seating service, and bad/slow bar service. Even the initial wait just to get up to the rooftop was awkward. I'm glad I was able to check out this place, but definitely not itching to come back anytime soon.

Sue F.

Yelp
As we didn't have reservations, we were told where we couldn't sit and were left on our own to find a spot - we finally found a table inside so we missed the views benefitted by a rooftop bar. I highly recommend you have reservations. I chose "It's All A Dream" as my cocktail. It was sweet but not too sweet and too many of these would definitely not be a good idea - it was pretty strong. It was also delicious. We shared the Chicken Fried Mushrooms. They should have been called Buffalo mushrooms - they were tossed in hot sauce and served with marinated celery and a cool green goddess dressing. They were interesting but definitely not something I'd order again. They were also $16 for 5 smallish mushrooms - I'd have been much happier with another cocktail instead. We were doing a rooftop bar crawl so were only here for one drink. Honestly, it was pretty pricy and we probably couldn't have afforded an entire night here. It definitely was worth a visit though.

Alicia S.

Yelp
There is a two hour limit. No reservations. Spectacular view. Good service. Try the bbq pork sliders. Great amaretto sour. Bad tiki (rum punch)drink. It was watery cheap punch. The burger is great but the sauce on it taste a like Mayo mixed with old ketchup and is a not so nice tang (my opinion). Calamari is ok, a little tough. The sauce on it is like pure mustard. Classy. Intimate. Pay for parking.

Heather V.

Yelp
This rooftop bar did not disappoint! The views were stunning... Come here at sunset. I didn't love the layout of the tables though; clunky and didn't make sense. There were two private parties that took up most of the space. Maybe don't have those on the weekend? But the drinks were delicious (we did not eat) and even though my friend and I were standing the entire time, we still had a blast.

Karina E.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel and were recommended the Roof Top bar at the Kimpton Tyron. We arrived at opening. Very friendly & helpful host, but the bartender was the most unwelcoming & rude person I've come across since I've been in Charlotte. We ordered 3 drinks, which were all horrible as well & when I asked if he could make a tequila drink with a different tequila he said no. Overall, he ruined the experience and made terrible drinks, which sucks when drinks are $20.

Rika T.

Yelp
The vibe was amazing. We went on a Saturday evening around 5pm. Wait wasn't bad at all. We signed up for a table. The staff was amazing. The food was definitely 4 stars out of 5. We ordered a burger, calamari and surf and turf. this location is only for the vibes definitely not the food. Beautiful overlook of the city. Nice, relaxed crowd

Alexandria D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, the vibes are great. The cocktails are delicious and we ordered food which was also really good. Will definitely be returning.

Iman D.

Yelp
If you are looking for a nice lounge environment with an AMAZING DJ look no further than Merchant & Trade! The vibe was absolutely amazing and views of the city are stunning. Tip: Get there early to snag a seat because it gets busy early.

Carolyn K.

Yelp
Total package with location, view, and food. The skyline view was beautiful, service was attentive and trendy, and the food was delicious. Sat outside at a little table. Music was great and really added to the ambiance for that good happy hour vibe. We decided on several small bites (garlic hummus, chicken fried mushrooms, and the small charcuterie board). The only thing that knocked this place down was the drinks. The mixed cocktails were inventive, but primarily just juice with a hint of alcohol. For the price I would have expected a little more of a kick.

Kelley K.

Yelp
I recently came here for a friends birthday to do the igloo experience on the rooftop. We had an absolute blast and the view was amazing! I would highly recommend this to anyone. Cost was about $140 for myself and my boyfriend out of a group of 12 and everything we spent money on had to meet a minimum drink/food budget. With drinks being $22 a pop, that minimum can easily be hit. So why 4 stars? The igloo said it could hold 12 people, but it was a wee bit snug. I would almost say limit this to 10 people. Additionally, getting our food and drinks took a long time and for the price I would say really you're just paying for the experience.

Yelp
It's a nice place. Honestly it's a great spot for your instagram. That might be about all though. They should relax on the forced club scene and do less. I get it... you hire a dj but the overpriced drinks, the long wait, bouncers letting just their friends in, and the dress code can all be kicked to the curb. It impresses your out of town friends, but wouldn't go here routinely as there are at least two better rooftop bars only blocks away. You have to really drink the juice to enjoy this place.

Yelp
It's a good place to go if you're already in uptown for a night out. Get there around 9:30pm so you don't have to stand in line to get in. The bar area is packed and it's SLOW to get drinks. Nonetheless I still had a good time and came here on a spontaneous whim. I've been a handful of times so knew exactly what to expect

Yelp
We've visited twice, both on weekends and had two completely unique experiences. Our first visit was on a cold, damp, February evening. The vibe was low-key and chill, mainly couples. The outside seating areas were totally open, everyone was huddling comfortably indoors. We found two seats at the bar. The service staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our well-crafted cocktails. A five-star experience. Our second visit was in September. Drake concert weekend!!! Definite millennial singles hook-up vibe. The place was crowded and cramped, I'm a bit surprised we were allowed in. Outside tables were full except for a few held for reservations. Bar area was congested. Wait staff was harried and overly busy. Finally found seating in high chairs outside which I fought to hold while my two guests struggled in a quest for drinks. Later moved to low-back chairs, still sardined but at least more comfy. Overall a two-star experience. Hey at least the views from the roof were great! Interestingly there appears to be no dress code here. Many were very well-attired in suits and dresses, but we also saw a few who looked as if they had just arrived from the gym. I suspect neither of our experiences were the norm for this rooftop bar/restaurant/club.

Yelp
During a recent business trip to Charlotte, we ended up at this bar on a Saturday night with a group of other conference attendees. Just about the only thing I thought was worthwhile was the view from the top. Other than that it was your typical purple lights, twenty somethings trying to look cool, way too loud, overpriced gimmicky drinks kind of place. Upon entering, the first thing you are assaulted by is a "DJ" spinning music that is super super super loud to the point where you can't even have a conversation unless you move away to the outside areas. The speakers are set up like right on top of the bar and the "dance area" was basically a 10 x 10 section in front of the DJ. The whole time we were there, there was one solitary guy going hard, trying to get the attention of a group of ladies sitting nearby... hoping to seduce one to join him. Which was actually comical and somewhat entertaining in a cringe way. They acted like he was invisible (alas, his moves weren't very good) but this did not deter him. He was in it to win it. There is some nice seating around the periphery if you want to grab a table and maybe be able to talk to/hear your companion(s) while enjoying the view (which is beautiful). There is an adjoining section we didn't make it over to which looked like more of an outdoor lounge (maybe eating?) area. We spent about an hour in the bar section and honestly I was totally over it after my first drink. Pretty boring. Seemed like any other untz untz untz untz bar scene: girls with all their bits barely covered trying to act like they don't notice the guys trying to buy them drinks. *Yawn*

Yelp
Cool vibes, nice view of the city 10/10. Drinks are affordable and there is great music! Totally recommend the place.

Yelp
I can't vouch for the food because i didn't eat due to excessive wait times. The view is top tier. Beautiful rooftop. If you get there early there's seating options. The wait on food can be lengthy. Went with a group of 3 put our name on the wait list was told 30 mins but it was over 1.5hrs. The view was nice and music was decent so time escaped us and we got drinks at the bar. Sometimes there are signs that say the seating is for people who are dining. So we sat down thinking we could because we planned to dine and there was empty seating, only for the waitress to come and ask us to move. I wanted to try the calamari but the wait got insane so we told the host to give up our spot and we left.

Yelp
Beautiful view of the downtown area from the rooftop. The DJ was great, blasting a lot of early 2000's dance hits. I enjoyed a Pillow princess, which tasted like a vacation in my mouth. I also ordered the calamari appetizer, I wasn't a fan of all the pineapple as pepper garnish, but the calamari with deliciously seasoned and fried. All the servers were friendly...the bartenders were stressed. It was a super crowded night, so parking was a hassle. Uber is a smart choice for the downtown area anyway.

Yelp
Love this place but the line is usually always long. Tip ****Make a reservation to guarantee seating Reservation: not required but I highly recommend it Parking: street parking or garage parking Location: on the rooftop of the Kimpton Tryon hotel Cocktail: Hand signal sub vodka for tequila 5/5 absolutely delicious Food: Lamb sliders with yogurt sauce on the side. The sliders are pulled lamb with onions and yogurt sauce. The lamb was tender and had great flavor. I opted for the yogurt sauce on the side, it was okay. 5/5 Dessert:(not pictured) Smores cheesecake it was rich and very tasty. 5/5 Overall, the atmosphere is amazing. They have space inside and outside for seating. The views of the city are beautiful, the staff was friendly and all wore mask. Be prepared to wait in line then wait in line again at the elevator before being allowed to the rooftop . Be patient. The views are worth the wait!

Yelp
The majority of my ratings go towards the view! It's spectacular. You can see the baseball stadium and the city lights at night. In addition, the drinks are also very good- at an expected price though. The rooftop is more of a chill vibe, which I think is perfect for sit and sipping with friends or coworkers on a nice evening.
