Paul Shaw is amazing. I don’t know how he does it all. With a smile on his face and joy in his heart he handles the entire operation of managing 1) a showroom of beautifully staged collections 2) organizing special events; I ran into our mayor at one of them 3) arranging front and back of house connections so clients and customers get the best service 4) the plants everywhere! They always look healthy and loved 5) AND the social media posts. I look forward to see what y’all got going on. I love seeing your recent renovations and am happy you’re in my neighborhood; I always send friends and tourists to Merchant House

I absolutely love this place and everyone who runs it! It’s one of those hidden gems you almost don’t want to share because it’s that special. Beautifully curated home design pieces, furniture, antiques, and unique finds—truly the best. ❤️

Merchant House is a treasure trove for designers. Rosa has curated an impeccable marketspace with tasteful vendors and a helpful staff. I make a point to stop by at least twice a month and I am always surprised how different it looks each time! Modern vintage furnishings are a rare find in New Orleans and Rosa has made it happen. You can find vintage clothing and jewelry and lots of eye catching accessories. My favorite stalls are Caravan and Bay Leaf and Besom and of course don't forget to stop into Freda for one of a kind outfits and jewelry for your next day /night on the town.

We happened upon this place by sheer luck on our last full day in New Orleans. I thought I had found all of the second hand/thrift/consignment stores in the area. They had so many unique pieces in good condition. The prices were also quite reasonable. After spending considerable time downstairs, we made our way up the stairs to the second floor. There we found a wonderful collection of vintage clothes, hats, gloves, handbags and more. My friend found an great full length black cape and I left with the coolest dark rose leather jacket. Now that I know about this place, I'll be stopping by whenever I'm in town.

Magazine merchant is a vintage co op filled with some of the best dealers in New Orleans. The prices are fair and the selection is always changing as these pickers return home from their treasure hunts.

We love Merchant House! They always have beautifully curated items, and it's so much fun to talk with all the team members. We did a style consultation with Paul Shaw and he helped us think about how we could move things around in our house to have better flow and create some beautiful "moments" with our existing items. He did so much in just an hour! And he's been amazing with follow up also - answering all my questions. Would highly recommend this team to anyone.

Google
Merchant House always has a great selection of vintage/antique pieces, possibly the best in the city. My only critique would be that (as someone who visits similar places all over the south) the prices are generally a little off from the normal. However, there isn’t really “junk” here and you never have to dig to find something quality and unique. Definitely worth a visit every few weeks!

Yelp
Fun place to walk through even if you aren't in the market to buy some high-end vintage goods.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit at Merchant House and loved the quirkiness yet very cool ambiance here. This is the place you come to so you can find those one-of-a-kind momentums to give your place a personal touch. Come here if you're looking for those pieces that are conversation starters. I saw so many different eras of furniture and knick knacks which had my heart fluttering with joy. You can also find a few variances of plants and I noticed there was clothing on the top floor! They host a wide variance of local vendors but everything flows together so nicely. This is a great place to explore and perhaps find a new piece that speaks to you personally.

Yelp
This is a huge warehouse space on the corner of Calliope and Magazine. I've been to a few things in this space. It used to have monthly sales where different vendors brought in their wares. But now it seems to be a permanent used furniture spot. I really miss all the used furniture stores that used to be on a different section of Magazine back in the day so I love these kind of spots. I think there are a couple of different people who sell in the space so you might have to negotiate prices with different folks and they pretty much want what the listed price is. But you only pay at one counter, I think. The space is a warehouse but it is clean, BUT has no HVAC so be aware that it will reflect the temps outside. Parking is on the street.

Yelp
Merchant House Collective. Neat, well organized, good variety, friendly Staff, on the less-expensive side. Four Stars.
