The Best Restaurants in the Laurentian Mountains, Quebec | Eater Montreal

"You won’t find better pastries, bread or brunch anywhere in the Laurentians, and this café-bakery gives Montreal pastry chefs a run for their money, too. Owners Johanne Martineau and Albert Elbilia make everything with love, and it shows." - Ashley Joseph

We had lunch there and the food was really good, love the unexpected mix of flavours. Sitting outside is so calming and loved the scenery. The only remark is that you can’t really modify anything on the menu to accommodate certain restrictions of food so my young kids weren’t able to eat much other than a croissant and some bread. But they did enjoy the matcha ice cream very much 😀

Had a wonderful breakfast here very simple but very tasty I had the pancetta with two eggs over easy on a open crossiant amazing it was called dej de Gars, I do like having eggs on a croissant I do that at home for myself. My partner went for the vegetarian open croissant Desayung Espanol which looked great with eggs tomato and lots of dill. The food here is really good it's a very busy place the staff are great and parking is tight but it's worth the wait. I have tried the lemonade that they do both strawberry and pineapple I find the strawberry is better. There breads and baguette are very good quality also there pastry's l really like the smoked maple croissant a favourite. It's a 50 minute drive from Montreal but it's well worth it.

Very beautiful local bakery, fun to dine in!! Limited food options, but all of it was very fresh and delicious. Service really good. Pastries are also amazing. The only downside was the waiting time, and to make up for it, they gave each couple in our group a free loaf. Truly a gem!

It was a great start to the weekend. We would like to thank Ben and his other friends who were very friendly and helpful with us from the very first minute. We were very pleased with all the food and drinks we chose. A wonderful atmosphere, we can't wait to experience this again.

Worth the trip from Montreal! We visited in September 2024, and overall, it’s a nice place. The parking lot was a bit of a downside, as it turns into mud when it rains, which is a major drawback. The entrance area doesn’t give off the best first impression – it could be more lively (though it might be too late for changes now). However, once inside, it’s great! Seeing the clean and organized kitchen on your way to the seating area was a nice touch. The seating area itself is spacious and bright, with large windows providing a pleasant view. The portions are filling, and the croissants and cookies at the front were delicious. Be aware that some items might not be halal, so it’s a good idea to ask while ordering. They are accommodating and can remove ingredients if necessary. The staff speaks English, which is a plus. Also, refills for tea and coffee are free after the first round. The music was enjoyable but a bit loud – it made conversation difficult at times. We were lucky to hear some instrumental tunes with Anatolian vibes, which added a nice touch. The washrooms were clean, and the menu items were tasty. Prices are around $30 per person. Definitely worth a visit – I recommend it!

Google
I love this place. The food is exceptional and interesting. It’s really a diamond in the area. Pastries are great and fresh. The food, if you sit down to eat, is great and the space outside is so lovely. Not to mention the ice cream (which is vegan!). Big fan! I wish it were open for dinner! My only criticism would be that wait times can be very long (for sit down lunch), so plan accordingly.

The baked goods looked and tasted great, but prices were somewhat expensive, but acceptable... The problem is with our dining experience... We had gone for breakfast... We were directed to the outside picnic tables, but I immediately asked if we could sit inside, for my spouse's eyes are very susceptible to strong sunlight... We were given a small table inside, but the employee seemed annoyed by my request, as per her facial expression... The prices for breakfast were steep, for what they offered on the menu... We ordered coffee, which was not served before the meal, but rather served a while after receiving our food order... There was no sugar or milk caplets on the table, so I asked the same employee for some sugar and a stirring spoon... She seemed disturbed by my request... She finally brought me one sugar pouch and a wooden stir stick which she held in her bare hand, and then placed it directly on the table top which is not hygienic, and unacceptable.... We asked for some cool water, and we were brought a bottle of lukewarm water from the outside dining area, which was exposed along with other bootled water in direct sunlight... We may possibly return for the baked goods, but not for dining...

Yelp
Food - 5 star Service - 5 star Ambiance - 4 star I really like this place a lot. We come here for lunch when we're in the area, which is semi-regularly during ski season. The food is outstanding. Creatively conceived, really well executed, and delicious. Service is excellent, and not being great with French isn't a problem as the team here all speak English very well. And trying to converse in French even though I'm not good is appreciated. Ambiance is good, but there are communal tables, which I'm not a fan of. Not a big deal at all though, especially considering how consistently excellent the food is. The baked goods are all fantastic, too. Great breads, and sweets. It gets packed at lunch, so be prepared to wait. It's worth it.

Yelp
Loved the vibe. A very nice setting, sitting outside under the trees. We ordered a variety of food - pancakes, Korean pork sandwich, chicken sausage sandwich, and lamb sandwich. All were very fresh and tasty. The service was great. They were helpful with recommendations and query nice.

Yelp
Excellent products but expect to pay a higher price for them. top quality ingredients. It is also a cafe. there was a lineup outside to access the cafe and counter. The service is great at the counter and the lady knows her product and is ready to suggests nice breads. Difficult to find a parking spot outside.

Yelp
Super service au niveau comptoir boulangerie. Incroyable pain artisanal, savoureux.. Très accueillant. Le pain pomme de terre a été dévorée vite!! Brunch is packed on weekends, $18/20 range. Amazing bakery, delicious and original savoury beds. We bought potato loaf and got it hot out of the oven.. was so tasty the loaf barely lasted outside the parking lot! VERY popular on Sundays with returning Montrealerz but service is friendly and fast..

Yelp
Waited in the rain for almost 30 minutes and then were let in and told wait here for a table. Around 15 minutes later we were directed to go to the counter to order and get a table and then they said " you have to wait outside to get a table" some basic communication in the team would help stop this ridiculous issue. Thanks for the wasted hour!
