The most exciting new MICHELIN Guide hotels for January 2022

"In a city that’s impossibly old and picturesque, competing in historical splendor would be a mistake; instead, this hotel sensibly opts for a contemporary, Modernist‑influenced style and leaves the ancient opulence to the rest of Kraków." - Le Guide MICHELIN

The most exciting new MICHELIN Guide hotels for January 2022

"Poland’s second city, Kraków, is impossibly old and impossibly picturesque — so much so that it would arguably be a mistake for a luxury hotel to attempt to compete in the arena of historical splendor. Much more sensible for a hotel like the Mercure Kraków Fabryczna City to opt for a more contemporary, Modernist-influenced style, and leave the ancient opulence to the rest of the city." - Le Guide MICHELIN

I had a wonderful stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional. The rooms are very clean and beautifully designed, with very comfortable beds. Housekeeping does a great job every day and provides complimentary drinks such as coffee, tea, and water. The spa area is excellent! It includes a bio sauna, infrared sauna, Finnish sauna, steam room / roman style sauna), a salt room, as well as a swimming pool, jacuzzi, warmer pool, and a children's pool. The pools are a bit smaller and can get busy at times, but they are always very clean. The food in the restaurants is also delicious. The location is a bit outside the city center (about a 40 minute walk), but the hotel can easily call a taxi for you, fares are very reasonable at around 3 - 4 PLN per kilometer (0,70 - 0.90 eur / km).

The hotel itself is quite new and nice, with good cleanliness and decent housekeeping. It’s a bit far from the city center, but that’s clearly stated, and for us as heavy walkers, it wasn’t a problem.||The pool area and especially the spa are quite small for the number of rooms, but it would be sufficient if it were for hotel guests only. We knew in advance that some lanes might be reserved for swimming lessons, but it turned out that lessons take place there every weekday evening, leaving only one lane available for hotel guests and other visitors.||My biggest complaint goes to the front office. When I made my family booking directly on the Mercure hotel website, I added the breakfast option. In the confirmation email, however, it stated that only one adult would have breakfast included. So I wrote to the front desk, clarifying that I wanted breakfast for all guests — two adults and two kids — and asked them to double-check. The front office confirmed this.||In the end, we were charged again for the second adult’s breakfast, which I can accept as a misunderstanding. However, the day before our departure, they wanted to charge us for our older child’s breakfast as well. Of course, both children’s ages were correctly entered in the booking form. I immediately discussed the issue at the reception; the lady there explained that children over 12 are charged for breakfast, but she agreed it was clearly a mistake on their side and promised to discuss it with the manager.||On the last day, however, we were still charged for our child’s breakfast. The same receptionist seemed surprised when I pointed this out during check-out, as she said the restaurant staff had been instructed not to charge us. What a mess.

I stayed at this 4-star hotel with a spa and swimming pool, but the experience was disappointing. There was no drying rack or any option to dry clothes in the room — only a paid laundry service. The hair dryer is not suitable for swimsuits or clothes after the pool. The pool water was quite cold, and several lanes were constantly reserved for training, so guests had limited space. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but overall, this stay did not meet 4-star expectations. Unfortunately, I will not return to this hotel.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room is nice and big enough for a family of four with a comfortable sofa bed. The location is good if you don't mind using trams.

Excellent hotel, neat, modern design. Rich choice for breakfast, adapted to families with children. Friendly staff, but I have to especially praise Dominika, who delighted us with her kindness and helpfulness. Great price for what you get!

I have stayed in wakling distance from the Old Town, but considering Uber connections I think this hotel in the outskirts offer better value for my travel budget. The rooms are modern, offering a spa area and dining in walking distance. Good value.

Our experience was made extra special thanks to our amazing waitress Patrycja K. She went above and beyond. She’s very attentive, kind, and truly cared about making our experience memorable. From thoughtful recommendations to anticipating our needs, her service was exceptional. It’s rare to meet someone so passionate and professional. Thank you for making us feel so valued! Also a big thank you to the cleaning lady who cleaned our room on 07.21 (Room 206) She didn’t only cleaned our room but she also went the extra mile by arranging our toiletries so neatly. She didn’t have to do that, but her attention to detail and care truly stood out. It’s the small, thoughtful gestures like this that make a stay feel extra special. I wish I know her name so I can let the management know about her extraordinary service.
