1st time going to the Mercury Lounge. We stopped by after a concert and it was a blast! The service, people and atmosphere was great! I love music and this is the place to be if you do as well! I'll be back! Mamma don't let your Cowboys grow up to be racist!

Such a VIBE!!! Awesome bar and the outdoor area is GREAT! Great selection of brews. Nothing too pricey! The sound quality for live music is amongst the BEST in town! Brunch on Sundays is GAS! Definitely a MUST GO place in Tulsa!

If you haven’t been to “the Merc’,” you haven’t been to the best small music venue in Tulsa. Gobs character and authenticity, plus the best Americana/ country/ honky-tonk/ soul and rock musicians in town.

Inclusive and welcoming dive bar with some of the greatest music in town. Our favorite is happy Hour with Cassie Latshaw Fridays and Blue grass brunch on Sundays. LGBTQIA affirming joint with a pretty great tack truck out back.

Mercury is an excellent place to enjoy my thoughts about life. Good vibes from the staff. The different bands at night are cool and satisfying. From a 21 yr old in a 60+ yr body.

Wow, was I shocked when I showed up to this venue for my first Tennessee Jet concert the other night. I absolutely loved the intimate feel of the venue and the eclectic decor it had inside. The sound system for the band and artist was absolutely spot on and at no time was it ever distorted or hard to hear. The small bar was hoping and they had 3 bartenders who definitely knew what they were doing and kept everyone happy with short wait times. I was impressed with their sign language skills to the guests when the artist or band was playing. I am so amazed that this awesome venue is in Tulsa and that we have access to such great bands and artists like Tennessee Jet! I can’t wait to see more shows in this great place!

It is a staple in the Tulsa music scene. Great music here any night of the week.

Google
I visited a few weeks ago and it is an intimate venue with excellent sound for smaller musical acts. We reserved a table by the window and there were no complaints. Great bar and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Yelp
Mercury is as local as it gets. Been living up the street from the moment I moved back & a lot of Hip Hop acts have been included more than ever. Being an artist + curator gave me the opportunity to do some things here + be a part of other events, whether I'm putting shows together or DJing for others. One thing's for sure, Big Fish at the door doesn't play. I've witnessed twice that he had to kick out people for their wrongdoings. He does a great job at making sure people are safe. He also makes sure that artists get paid + helps push events. Just like Big Fish, the bartenders & staff are very nice and never gave me a hard time for as much as I've been up there. This place has live music at least 3-5 days out of the week on a WEEKLY basis. If you want any kind of a idea of what kind of music Tulsa has to offer, this is your spot.

Yelp
The Mercury lounge is an amazing punk rock dive bar in downtown Tulsa. Great music, dive bar drinks and service. Looking for a fun night out with amazing live music ? Look no further. Also. The outdoor patio area are great. Dalesandros and TXMZ are both across the street with fantastic dining options.

Ashley T.

Yelp
Disgusting bathrooms. The whole place is nasty. Same bands. Some songs. Super boring. Everyone is on the hunt for drugs. The music used to be good. They hire all the same local musicians. Can't pay with change. Which is completely idiotic. But I don't mind keeping my precious coins. Always a way too expensive cover. Save your money. Everyone is super rude. Used to be a nice neighborhood bar. The security yells and screams.

Marcia L.

Yelp
They put a new meeting to Sunday Funday! It is a blast. The bands are amazing. The beers are cheap, and the people are fun. It's a great dive. Bar bartenders are really on par and attentive with a smile on their faces. Bring cash though because they take donations at the door to get in.

Molly M.

Yelp
I love going to the Merc! Amazing music and genuinely welcoming atmosphere. As a queer music fan, I know I'm safe and will have fun there!

Anthony K.

Yelp
I've been to the Merc several times and always had a great time! Awesome to listen to the local music while getting good service as well!

Ron J.

Yelp
The Mercury Lounge has amazing ambiance, friendly servers an fantastic music when we were there. We saw the Red Dirt Rangers who were great, but it would be a great venue to see any band. It is a welcoming environment unless you are a racist, sexist, homophobe, or asshole (as the sign by the door says).

Matt M.

Yelp
I don't drink, but I love the bands featured here and the general camaraderie. I love my anti-racism t-shirt from The Mercury Lounge, as well, and wear it often. (I read somewhere that the t-shirts sold so well that Mercury Loung had to order more!) COVID-19 prevention measures in place, as well -- greatly appreciated. P.S.: The men's room has been hilariously "advertising" a "glory hole coming soon" for years now. So far, nothing. (If the owners actually installed one, they would definitely get even more Yelp stars. Allegedly.)

Michael V.

Yelp
great music - dive bar smells - kind of sketchy service unless you are a regular. i think i'm in love with the place. no food but plenty of nearby options.

Torrin A.

Yelp
if they have a cover and you ask the security guard if they take card, he will yell at you for not having cash. if your out of town and dont know how it all works, it's even worse.

Jane F.

Yelp
I have been coming to the Mercury for many years now. I know they have been making some changes around there which is good, but I didn't have a great experience there recently. It was around 5pm. Sat at the bar and ordered a beer. The security guard came over and asked if we were staying for the band or had tickets.. something like that. We said no, and he left. Didn't say anything else. We finish our drinks and just sat there.... The bartenders are almost obviously not looking at us.. they keep tending to the patrons who come in the front door and walk straight up to the bar. They weren't dead, but also not at their busiest I have seen them. After about 30 minutes, We finally had to ask the bartender trying to clock out to get us another beer. We left after that. I don't know if the service was bad because they wanted us to leave because we weren't staying for the band or what? Which if we were told something to that extent we would have done that, no problem. But it made me sad that a place I used to go to for a chill environment with affordable drinks and great service let me down.

Ryan B.

Yelp
There are other businesses in the Tulsa area that have better atmospheres and entertainment. The owner is an absolute dick. I've never been to an establishment where I was treated with such shrewd language from the employees. They were often in the back goofing off and could be heard cursing and talking about vulgar subjects.

Lori S.

Yelp
If you're a masochist, this is the bar for you. The bartenders are rude, insulting, snobby and judge mental. The music is usually great but the lacking hospitality is so uncool. If you really want to get under their skin, order a Budweiser product.

Mike T.

Yelp
So far so good. I've been in here twice for a quick couple of beers. It's in walking distance so I'll be back quite a bit. One night they had some live music that was amazing. Good vibe and cool people. I can't believe our governor is shutting places down at 11pm . As if a virus knows not to attack before but after 11 it's on the attack what type of idiots so we put in office. Anyways I'm glad this place is open and hope to have many more good times.

Andie S.

Yelp
I have always had the best time at Mercury Lounge. The venue is small so the entertainment is always intimate. Drinks prices are very reasonable. The staff is kind. You never know who you will run in to. I definitely recommend checking out a show!

Jacquie B.

Yelp
Best place for Sunday day drinking. Great atmosphere, people watching, live music. And our tab was ridiculously low.

Alex F.

Yelp
Listen. Let me tell you about music venues. Sometimes they have great sound and great acts. Sometimes they have great staff and great drinks. Sometimes they ooze ambience. Rarely, rarely I say, they have it all. Mercury Lounge stands like a monolith in the city of Tulsa. A standard demanding to be met. It's delightfully divey neighborhood hang attitude stands in contest to what it provides musically. But rather than detract from the experience, it heightens it. Come for a show, leave feeling like part of the place.

Katie D.

Yelp
I love Mercury Lounge! The only thing that I don't love about it is that it is smoking. I mostly like to go here in the summer and sit on the patio. But they have some of the best music in town so I bite the bullet and often just go deal with the smoke. They have great drink specials and cheap draws. But awesome music for sure!

Mark W.

Yelp
THIS BAR SUCKS! Is their motto but it does anything but. It's a local dive bar with all the ambiance that you'd expect from a place that draws great live music. From the tattooed bartenders and bikers sitting hipsters at the bar to the gig posters and band stickers that adorn the walls and everything else. The drinks are cheap, the crowd is friendly and the bands that come to town to play Mercury are often "up and comers" that don't quite yet rate the audience to draw a crown to Cain's Ballroom or Brady Theatre. I've been there and seen great bands and seen other local musicians just hanging out for the show. It's great to just sit outside where the misters help cool the summer nights air, or go inside for a more lively atmosphere. It looks like a biker bar, but I have only seen one fight in there over many years, and that was quickly broken up and the perpetrators removed from the bar by the staff. To be fair though, I saw the same two guys get into a fight earlier in the night at another bar and they appeared to actually be hanging out together both times. They were probably either fighting over a girl or who's dad could beat up who's. I'm not sure. Another cool thing about Mercury is that after bands get a bit bigger and play at Cain's, they will often stop by after the show for a drink at Mercury. Maybe as a way to say thanks for letting them play there before their following grew. UPDATE...the Mens Room has been advertising a Glory Hole coming soon for years. So far, nothing. If they installed one, they would definitely get the extra star!

Justin B.

Yelp
I'm a fan of this little joint. Yes, it is really a 3-star dive bar but I tacked on another star for the clientèle and the bar tenders. Reggie (the guy with the mohawk) is on top of things and the drink prices are very fair. I don't smoke but I'm pretty good at ignoring it. There are also outside patio tables for when the weather is nice. I haven't been to many shows here, so I can't really complain about a cover. All in all, its a small, smoky, dive bar with cool people, a decent jukebox, a patio and cheap drinks. Simple but near the top of the 'dive bar' class. (oh, one gripe - needs more pissers. I usually resort to the parking lot when its crowded.)

Erica W.

Yelp
I just... Mercury Lounge... when the friends invite me here, I somewhat cringe. I think I do it have, whatever it is, in my personality to embrace this little joint. I mean, I guess I get it. The bikers like it, rockers like it and the Boston Terrier owners like it. Those peeps need a place also, right? The selection of drinks is ok. The band can be ok. The bathroom- I was not a fan of the condition of the bathroom. The overall bar seems to be up with the type of atmosphere it is wanting to stay true to keep. The bartenders are nice. Like I said, this is not my bag, but maybe it is yours! Parking is ok, but try the street. You may have to walk a little. Prices are comparable. There is an outside patio area.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Best dive in Tulsa. Cheap drinks, beer and shot special and frozen Vegas bombs! Live music almost every night with great bands. Occasional cover on Friday and or Saturday. Bartenders are usually on top of the crowd, quick and efficient. There's an outdoor patio and a smoking only room off of the main building. The crowd is eclectic, everyone fits in.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in the rude bartender in my VERY short visit to this establishment. It's my birthday, and he was extremely rude to my husband. We stayed less than 10 minutes and returned to Ripley's, where the bartenders are so friendly. I absolutely do not recommend going here unless you wanted to be treated like something you find on the bottom of your shoe.

Tawny T.

Yelp
The Mercury Lounge is Tulsa's rockabilly bar. It's located at 18th & Boston where a number of other bars/sort-of-clubs are (Vintage, Rehab, Pour House, F.B. Oscar's, and newly opened Pink). I appreciate this fact because it's walking distance from my apartment, which easily adds a star to this review. That said, the Mercury was pretty much just okay. The music was good (if you are into that. My partner is one of those people that has genres he cannot stand, and rockabilly/psychobilly are two of them.), and the kamikazes they made were made with (as far as I could tell) fresh sours, which is nice and makes the flavor a little more complex. You can smoke inside at the Mercury, which is great for those of you that do, but for me is kind of like "great, now I will smell like carcinogens tomorrow." I can take or leave this aspect, really. My biggest problem with the Merc is that they charged me $5 to get in. I'm sorry, dudes, but a cover for a bar is really kind of crappy, and I would not have gone if I didn't have a rockabilly-obsessed friend who I'd promised to take with us. So, overall, this place is pretty mediocre. I think maybe if I were more into the subculture, I would be all about it. So if you are big into the Rev and all that, you will probably have a lot of fun. But if you are kind of an average everyday normal guy, you might be kind of unimpressed.

Amanda K.

Yelp
I really don't go out much any more, but when I do I go to the Merc. As a girl, it is one of the FEW places in town I would go by myself. the Bartenders are great, 5 dollar shot and beer special. they seriously have the best juke box in town, and feature some killer bands if you havent been, go now. Like right now... and yes, it is punk/rockabilly type crowd but there are plenty of other "types" there as well.

Henry O.

Yelp
The door guy was super friendly when we first arrived however when we were leaving after spending a lot of money he accused us of walking out with beers, and we never even had beers while we we're here, he was a bit aggressive & we never said much but just answered his questions saying no we didn't have beers, then he said he thought our mask we had just taken off were beers, he didn't apologize. The bar tender with a grey beanie did not like being asked questions about their liquors, he kept saying I don't know, he's not good with people, he had a bad attitude, we still tipped him very well, we spent plenty of money here and weren't appreciated. We dreaded getting a drink each time we wanted one unless the orange beanie bartender helped us, he was great. We should have had one drink and left. They had things on the table to scan and it pulled up a menu for next door restaurant and no employees there could explain why, we rented a booth for the music. The bar tender with the orange beanie was very good and friendly.

Laura H.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars to travel to. Fair priced drinks, staff that make sure your drinks are nothing less than fantastic and the jukebox is the best in town! ...when they don't have a great live band playing. If Missouri had a place like this I wouldn't need to make trips to Tulsa quite so often. One of the best parts about the bar would be the people that end up there. You never know what/who will walk in...and that adds to the charm - if that's what you want to call it. I just say it makes it a fantastic bar.

Garrett Addison B.

Yelp
I just saw that they have a "I free miller light" promo. If that doesn't tell you what kind of place this is I don't know what will. This is perfect for people who are more on the country end of the spectrum. Lots and lots of smoke was billowing out of the door when we walked in. Avoid this place if you can.

Nicholas C.

Yelp
I walked in and felt at home, awesome music, awesome people, just awesome overall, if your in Tulsa, stop by there, You to will give 8 stars! shot of whisky and a beer $5 for both!

Jude H.

Yelp
I've seen several stars knocked off complaining about the smoke... but awesome news: they are smokefree now! We got to stop in and STAY for the first time. Very exciting, great music.

Jim B.

Yelp
We stopped in her for a drink before going across the street to the Shrine to see Coco Montoya perform. (He was great by the way) The place was a little intimidating from the outside. Inside is very dark and divey. It looks like a biker bar and there were a couple of bikes out front but i couldnt even tell who they belonged to. The joint is decorated (if you can call it that) with military and local union flags as well as stickers and writing on the walls. Im not sure if the owner of this bar is making any money on it but the owner certainly is not putting any money back into it. Everything in this bar is old and worn out. They have 1 pool table but no other games to play. The Mercury Lounge has a stage for live musuc and an outside seating area which is nice. I didnt see any live music here but they must have it. The stage could be hard to see from a lot of areas in the bar. They do have the obligatory jukebox with a good sound system You could tell that smoking was allowed as soon as you entered. They do have pretty good air circulation so the smoke didnt overpower me to the point where i had to leave. The bartender was Beth who was very freindly and made some good drinks. I would come back here for a drink again but im not sure if i would come here on a weekend night unless i really wanted to see that particular band and i certainly wouldn't bring someone here that i was trying to impress but for a few drinks before a show, it was great.

Johnny A.

Yelp
I suppose a bar like this in a bad location has to attempt to steal money by giving incorrect change ......twice. Oh well now I can say I've been there.......only reason to go there is pregame before shrine shows.......I'll wait for the doors to open at the shrine next time

Linda J.

Yelp
My son drove from Oklahoma City to Tulsa to spend Mother's Day with me. Unfortunately, I forgot my ID, and bouncer would not even let me sit outside and drink water. I'm 59 years old and obviously old enough to drink. It was very disappointing.

Patrick V.

Yelp
Dingy and dark are a couple of words I would use to describe this establishment. Those attributes aren't necessarily negative though, because they totally fit with the overall environment. Its a divey bar. I went to see my friends band play, the stage was a little off to the side and awkwardly placed, but overall the sound quality was great. A few people were dancing in front of the stage, but its a fairly small place, so most of it was crowded with tables and people. I would say the average age of the crowd would be late 20s and up. The bar was completely full, but understandably so, they have really affordable and cheap drinks. Which I obviously appreciated. The bartenders were great, but some of the other staff had a bit of an attitude. Which, once again, I guess I can attribute to the divey nature of the place. If you're into divey bars or biker-esque bars, you should definitely check the Mercury Lounge out.

Western D.

Yelp
I love the Merc. Why? Cool people, Beth the bartender kicks ass and Reginald, well he's just poured into those jeans like a delicious beer. Yummy.

Paul A.

Yelp
Not a fan. It is a decent stinky dive bar in the part of town where bars such as this are appropriate. In fact, there are a variety of bars in the area so it is definitely worth the visit; if you don't like it, there are three or four bars with walking distance. The reason I like it is that they draw in decent bands frequently and great bands often. The drinks are reasonably priced. The reason I dislike it I'd because of the smoking and then cover charges. This place gets cliquish and I always feel bad interrupting the waitresses conversation with her friends to ask her for another beer (which happened last time I was there). If there was a decent band playing, I would go here. But as far as just drinks, there are cheaper dive bars within miles of this bar.

Brian H.

Yelp
It gets 5 stars from me because IT IS WHAT IT SAYS IT IS!!!! A dive bar. Where you can dive right in to many cultures and types of people just hanging out. Plus it's one of the only places I know in Tulsa that expects The Live Music to be ORIGINAL!!!! You wanna see the next Hank Williams or Steve Earle. This could be the place!!! It sure won't be at a bar that has a band playing Brickhouse!!! Thank You Mercury Lounge!!!!! It has a patio, it's biker friendly, cheap prices and a cool jukebox. Come as you are. Plus a beef and a shot $5.

Linsey H.

Yelp
The Mercury Lounge is a great place for good music and cheap drinks! $5 beer and shot combo = awesome. I have yet to see a band there I did not enjoy, a rockabilly feel with variety. The cover charge is to support the band, they have to make money too! C'mon $5 - $10 is a small price to pay considering what it takes for the band to travel, perform, practice, etc. I'm a non smoker and I think its pretty well ventilated - especially when the windows are open - if not you can enjoy the patio as well! The staff is friendly - Reggie is da boss - I have never had a problem getting a drink at the Mercury!! Check it out, I bet you'll enjoy it!!

Brian B.

Yelp
Great place to stop in for a beer. Prices are pretty low and its a great place to enjoy some pretty good shows. The patio is the perfect place to enjoy a summer night. Stop in for great service and cheap beer. Highly recommend.

Andrew D.

Yelp
I've been a patron of this bar for several years. I'm a fan because it provides what most other "dive bars" don't. That's good company, better drink specials and great bands. I would recommend this bar to anyone looking for a different experience in the heart of Tulsa, OK.

Jacob I.

Yelp
The merc does a good job. The prices are nice and the patio is chill. This was the first place I saw Billy Joe Shaver (years ago). I don't really fit in with the rocka-a-billy crowd though. It's never been a problem, i've just always felt a little out of place there. I have to say that I'm mostly there in the afternoons. It's the best time to be there. Sitting on the patio in spring or late summer and looking at the skyline is great.

Faye B.

Yelp
Husband researched this place for local music. The papers said the show would start at 8pm, but they were only just setting up the stage at 8:30. This place really is a dive bar, but not as dingy as you would think. It does the dark ambiance really well with the tatted bartenders, but they were pretty friendly. I'm sure we looked a bit out if place, but there was a pretty diverse clientele; mix of tattooed regulars to frat guys, now that's an interesting mix. We liked one of the performers, but ended up heading out when the main band got on. The headliner actually played three songs took a long break then came on after the opening act some time after 11, which we thought was very confusing. Coming from Chicago we did have to get used to bars that allow smoke, but that did add to the dive bar character.

L G.

Yelp
This is the best place to go for cheap drinks and great music. Fair warning though, they do allow smoking.

Johnny L.

Yelp
The corner of 18th & Boston has restaurants and clubs and bars, and is a great stop on a Saturday night out. The Merc is "Tulsa's punkabilly bar." Hipsters, hip-hoppers and preps don't hang out here. They often have bands playing, and it gets very loud inside. They have a big patio outside. Inside is small and the worst part is, they allow smoking inside. $5 shot and beer special is great! The place is cliquish. Tattoos and bikes and rat-rods. I don't like the music, but I still go here occasionally to enjoy a cold beer on a warm night outside. Merc's been here for many years.

Matt M.

Yelp
Always a great mix of people, the Mercury Lounge is a place where anyone can go and feel at home, I have seen some great live music there, and the drink specials are some of the best in town. $5 beer & shot! How can you beat that? The bartenders are very attentive and they also sell Screamin Steven's beef jerky, as well as jerky infused vodka, you HAVE to try it in their bloody mary.. best bloody mary i have ever had...

Malory S.

Yelp
the bartender working 06/12/13 wearing pink should be fired. she was incredibly rude and refused to serve some of our group for no reason. I won't be going back to this bar.

Skippy R.

Yelp
I was in Tulsa for a few days and stopped into the Mercury Lounge on a Saturday night. This place made my week. The music was really good, the crowd was nice, and you can't beat a $5 shot and a beer. All around the vibe is just right. There was a cover, but it wasn't too steep.

Josh K.

Yelp
Friendly staff with cheap drinks are hard to beat. Also they tend to have good bands coming through.

Nicholas H.

Yelp
Charged a $10 cover and the bouncer pocketed my money. Didn't see him charge other people money. Bar tender charged me $22 for 3 $3 beers and a $2 beer. Not a great place to be. Highly suggest avoiding it.
