The Best Hotel Restaurants in Minneapolis and Saint Paul - Eater Twin Cities

"With creative small plates and an unbeatable wine list a mile long, Mercy Bar & Dining is a major perk to staying at the swank Le Méridien hotel in downtown Minneapolis. During the winter, cozy up at the bar with a drink during happy hour and get the Old School Cheeeseburger: laden with a house “special sauce,” molten gouda, and all the fixings." - Julie Zhou

Throw a Holiday Bash Inside These Private Party Rooms - Eater Twin Cities

"Located at Le Méridien in downtown Minneapolis, Mercy has a number of private and semi-private dining spaces available, both within the restaurant and in the hotel at large. Particularly of note is the Library Lounge downstairs: dark wood paneling, long leather couches, book-lined walls and a full bar." - Julie Zhou

Not amazing for the price, but good. The cocktails were fantastic. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food quality for the price is where it all fell down for me. The scallops were perfectly tender, and the mushroom risotto that accompanied it was good, but the greens and unseasoned, crunchy squash didn't do much for me. The brussel sprouts were insanely smoky/bacon flavored. The apples that accompanied them were necessary to tone down the smokiness. The duck was superb and the cherries in the dish were a perfect companion, but the root vegetables were a little bland. Their lavender ice cream was delicious and definitely worth a try though.

I'm not normally someone who raves over fancy restaurants, but this is the real deal. We were entertaining a client. Their private dining room downstairs was a classy and intimate setting. Service was professional. Food was excellent. Pricing, particularly for the value received was reasonable (worked out to about $120/person with starter, main course, drinks and dessert).

Good experience. Loved the huge serving of garlic bread as appetizer. I was pretty much the only person in the restaurant. Went around 2pm on a weekday. Had the turkey avocado sandwich and it was okay. I feel like the turkey slices could have been warmer and crispier. Service was good.

My friends and I choose Mercy because it’s conveniently located across the street from the Orpheum Theatre. The menu is seasonal, we all opted for their fresh fish dishes! Shrimp and grits, bass, salmon. All cooked with great side dishes. The desserts were amazing as well. Don’t miss out on the chocolate creme brûlée’. Wonderful layers of Carmel, chocolate and fresh whipping cream. Yum! Very reasonably priced wine list. My only criticism was the Caesar salad—it was so bland.

This review was long past due. We visited this place on September 28, 2016 Chef Gustavo...you are a true artist, your dishes are not entrees no more they are poems of your history and your life-thank you. When we arrived at Marin, now called Mercy, we were seated right the way. Decor of the restaurant is very cool and modern, I like it. We had a pleasure to talk to the bartender who explained to us all drinks we were having with our dinner. Ahmed was our waiter- nice gentleman, very pleasant and calm I just wish he would be a little bit more attentive , overall good job thank you. Here was our Pre Fix Gustavo's last supper menu with following wines and drinks: Amuse: Duck Taco it was as always amazing ,so fresh , delicate. I love to eat it more and more. 1st course: Scallop Aguachile, I love seafood and scallops make me happy, the sauce was fantastic. Pine Ridge 2014 Blend Chenin Blanc, Viognier 2nd course Beet Salad, Simple dish but so different- very tasty and exciting. Requeson was a great helper here :) Broken Earth Winery Pull Chardonnay 2013 3rd course Sea Bass Pazole, I need to admit Chef Gustavo's Sea Bass is the best in town- so fresh, fragile, delicate and totally exciting. Joel Gott Pinot Noir 2014 4th course Pork Belly, Wow...that was a surprise- my new favorite dish . Pork had this special cedar smokiness , it was a phenomenal dish. Tequila Cabrito Reposado with an orange skin in the glass- it was super delicious. Dessert Black Forest, It was very nice to cool down my taste butts - Dark Chocolate was my favorite. Amaro Montenegro Liqueur Italia + a few more ingredients . The entire night was a great celebration of the Chef Gustavo's talent and passion. We hope to see you again. Our entire visit was fun, very exciting and very successful. Marin is a special place to dine in Minneapolis . I understand chef Gustavo is gone but I hope the vibe is still there.

This place has some great breakfast (haven’t tried the lunch or dinner) We have been coming here for breakfast every morning because we are staying in the Le Meridian Hotel. I have tried multiple of their breakfast options, but found that I love the steel-cut oats that come with glazed bananas and peanut butter.

Talia was amazing! She provided the best service and was very helpful with the menu. We went for dinner and we really enjoyed their patio. You should definitely get the ceviche, the burger is very good too!

This is one of those places where you just have to sit and close your eyes because the food gives you pure bliss. If your down in the room past the library (where I was seated) it was quiet but peaceful with a excellent atmosphere. I really liked my server who was respectful and polite but still approachable and friendly. I will definitely be coming back. They catered the orpheum crowd expertly. Make sure to make a reservation though. The lemonade and most drinks is very expertly blended
