Mercy University - Manhattan Campus

I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone; the staff are very unprofessional. First, they told me over the phone that I could learn English from scratch, but then they put me in a class with people who had already been studying for six months and already knew the language. When I approached them and asked to be placed in a class for beginners, they refused and simply said that if I wasn't satisfied, I could leave. And on top of that, you have to pay almost $1,000 every month for this, even though they don't teach you anything from the very beginning.

Faculty members are approachable and genuinely care about student growth and achievement.

Still remember when I had to drop a course after the first class, due to an emergency unforseen situation. I went to my PACT counselor and filled out paperwork to drop the course. I checked a week later on the portal and it said I was still enrolled. So I checked in with my counselor again who ensured that it was in the process of being removed and that it took some time. I trusted her to do the job while I was dealing at home with an emergency situation. I get my transcript and see a FW as a grade for the course. This meant I was never withdrawn and an F was averaged into my GPA for that semester. Because of that my GPA dropped below a 2.5 even though I received As in all other courses. That was unfair and significantly impacted my overall GPA at graduation. The school said they could do nothing about it. I still graduated in 2017 with a 3.7 GPA but had yet to hold a job over $17 an hour over 4 years later. After graduation I tried to contact the school to ask for help and job resources and network opportunities. They told me to use the job networking website they offer students but there were literally 0 options for careers in my field of study after months of using the portal I contacted the school again for more opportunities and was told "we don't know how else to help you, sorry". I ended up going back to a CUNY for my Master's but I really wish Mercy did more for their students. I'm left with 40k in debt and barley any way to pay it back. I feel terrible

A pretty good college with a wide range of programs. Has options for a mix of in-class and online classes, which allows for flexibility based on different personal circumstances and schedules. The best advantage is that many of the bisiness teachers are or were executives in the private sector and they bring this real experience to the classroom. The admin side could benefit from some fine tuning, but overall a very good experience, never had issues with payments, processing or graduation. Recommended and the Manhattan campus is very well located, both in terms of access and being near center town.

It's quiet. It's nice. Did an IELTS exam here. People are friendly

Educational institution that has faculty experienced professionally and academically. Here you can find great teachers and bright young minds. Faculty here also teach at very prestigious schools in NY and from around the globe. As long as you are actively involved in this institution, continue to dream, and seek progress, you will always do fine. Mercy College is a valued stepping stone providing top tier mentors for anyone who wishes to become prepared for their career. Looking forward to seeing the community flourish.

Visited the college for a IELTS testing on a Sunday. The staff is pretty polite and helpful. The place is easily accessible from the Penn Station. May not be the best place for IELTS testing as the Manhattan street noise can be very disturbing, the test rooms and not sound proof.

When you try and call their office Nobody ever picks up the phone.

New Campus and amazing Professors! It's a great school and well worth the investment.

I came here with my father in a open house orientation. The place was two blocks from the train station. While I was there, I was given several papers about what I would expect from there. I was with a group. We had fun and we applied for classes. At the end, I had lunch with my dad. The places only consists of two floors. Good thing Baruch accepted me because it is also well-known for its business courses, it's much cheaper there than Mercy, and it's bigger.

Don't apply to the Manhattan Campus. It's incomplete as that only has two floors listed as the sixth and seventh floor respectively as it looks like they're renting those floors of the building knowing that it's an apartment where people live in the other floors. It would've been better if they have the entire building with having a gym, cafeteria, bookstore etc. Just like in Westchester County. They can do better than that, I would say that they should be locate the Manhattan campus but at least just make it bigger and half the entire building for Mercy in general as the new location should be near the east side of Manhattan. I'm sorry but they can do better than this once again. And not to mention the student services staff are just rude at times.

This college I actually preferred because I had 3 scholarships it is a little pricy but worth it in the end of the day because I am a Homeland security student and they have the majors I want and convenient for travel I suggest you take online because it's easier and I max out on the credits because I want to finish faster as well.

Open admissions college with a lot of ill prepared students and a few good ones, mostly older. Good faculty and a lovely campus at Dobbs Ferry, as well as other campuses in the Metro area.

I hope I have less issues with this school as I become an upperclassmen in 2 years but so far I'm not enjoying the organization of this school. There have been constant holds on my account because of documents the school has misplaced. Even as I was applying to this school they misplaced documents. They have me running around looking for copies of this document only for my counselor or whoever to misplace it. This school is more unorganized than my high school and they were worse than this. I'm only going to this school because they have a 4 year program in my major and its the best and only program in new York city. Not trying to scare anyone away from this school but if you have a better option with your major, please choose it

Decent school...way overpriced...ok teachers i had one terrible one in psychology too bad i forgot her name but almost her whole classed failed...so my suggestion is if your psychology teacher is a women BEWARE....Overall i would not go to this school because you can get the same education at a community or cuny college which i decided to do n it worked out way better...

The Manhattan campus actually isn't the main campus, the one in Dobbs Ferry is. Whatever you do DO NOT apply to this campus. I've heard that the staff at Dobbs Ferry care more about their students than the people at my campus. The staff here are terrible (I am not talking about the professors) and don't do their jobs. They are sitting around and making free money. The faculty in the Student Services office don't know wtf they're talking about and on top of that they are ALWAYS miserable. If you walk in asking questions about registration and classes they make you register late - without your knowledge- and then tell you about it after when you walk in freaking out about your bill. They are also unwilling to help you in the process of registering for classes; they think that because the only way to do it is online they can just tell you to do it at home. All of the staff are women and it's a shame because out of all of them only ONE knows how to do her job. Like I said earlier, don't waste your time or your money - take it elsewhere while you can.
