Yelp
Clarkston, GA has been called one of the most ethnically diverse areas in Georgia, and Merhaba Shawarma fits right in to that discription.
Leaving Revolution coffee, which is literally a stones throw away from Merhaba, if you aren't looking for it, you may miss it because it's a very small lot, holding maybe 5 or 6 cars. Walk inside and you probably have seats for about that many people as well (3 tables inside, 2 tables outside). 2 of the tables were occupied inside, so I decided to take the third.
The woman working the store (not sure if she's the owner), was very friendly, and helped me narrow down my selection (I didn't want a dish with much rice) so I decided on the wrap ($6.99)
I was undecided on the meat (she mentioned chicken was their top seller, the beef looked great) so she allowed me to mix chicken and beef in the wrap (very cool!). In the wrap came banana peppers, pickles, lettuce tomato, red onion, garlic sauce and a spicy sauce, all wrapped in a warm pita. From the first bite, I was in love! Flavors punched my tongue in the mouth and the flavors of this thing were crazy good!
In addition to the wrap, I ordered a side of Hummus ($2.99), which also came with warm pita. The hummus, I have to admit, is why I can't give them 5 stars. It was swimming in oil, and it was missing something in terms of seasonings. Minus the oil, it wasn't bad, but it couldn't hold a candle to the wrap.
Located at the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Market Street, Merhaba Shawarma is right next door to a small auto shop, and like I said, if you aren't looking for it, it's easy to miss, but it's definitely worth a stop in for a bite to eat.
Small hole in the wall place with big vibrant flavors. Please check these guys out and give them some business!
