The food here is AMAZING! Even the napkins are delicious!😂 And the owner Manna is a kind and sweet woman, very friendly and communicates well. I left a review because finding good food in Atlanta with good service is like finding a unicorn in Brooklyn NY! And as a New Yorker I really appreciate great food that is topped with amazing service, this is a hidden gem and a must try.

Google
This place is a gem! Food is great! Food is authentic! The owner is awesome and always has a smile. We eat here often. There have been several times that I have eaten way way too much (extremely uncommon for me) because the flavor is just so good. I don’t want to stop! Get the shawarma platter!!!!!

Very good food! It was my first time here. Owner was ultra nice and patience bc too a little long to decide. I will definitely come back.

I came here to do a pickup order for dinner and got the combination plate and the vegetarian plate. The food was delicious and flavorful and servings are large! The woman who owns/runs the place is very sweet and nice and makes everything fresh. It is a small place so not a lot of seating, mostly just for takeout. Will definitely be back again!

Google
Small, casual Mediterranean inspired eatery best suited for take out. I had the combination plate which consisted of gyro, chicken shawarma, rice, and salad and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was seasoned well, the salad was fresh and crisp and the garlic sauce that the shawarma was topped with was SO good that I had to get extra on the side. The owner is super nice, attentive, gives generous support portions and gets the orders out quickly. Can’t wait to eat here again.

Google
The best shawarma around. The lady and her daughters are lovely. I almost always stop by when passing through.

Google
I was in the.area and got hungry. I googled what was around and decided to try them out. The lady, which I assume is the owner was very friendly. The food was also good.

Google
Food is so good and made with love like your mama food. Customer service is outstanding and I would recommend to anybody.

Yelp
There's much to like here! All of the food is excellent and prepared by the owner, Manna, herself. The food is tasty while being actually healthy as well. Parking is sometimes a hassle, especially around lunch time. There's plenty of parking, however, around the corner on Main Street. All of the food is prepared to take out but there are a couple of tables indoors and a couple of nice tables out in front of the building.

Yelp
Eating isn't just about the food, it's the vibe too. Beautiful spot right by the rail tracks in Clarkston. A warm and friendly elderly woman working at the front desk took my order and was very attentive. Southern hospitality and immigrant hospitality. Only in Atlanta. I got the combo plate and it was great, meat and salad were fresh and fries were crisp. A great sunny day and good vibes. Come for the food stay because you're happy.

Yelp
Great food, freshly prepared right in front of u. Had the chicken Shawrma plate with rice and salad . Delicious ! Worth the wait, and the owner is a sweetheart . I wish continued Blessings on this business

Yelp
The owner was so nice. The food was delicious! I came to the area to get my car repaired at the neighboring repair shop and had an empty stomach. This was my first time trying Mediterranean food and I will definitely be back! :)

Yelp
Love this place. The food is delicious and the lady who owes the shop is extremely welcoming and friendly. They are take out only but do offer some seating outside. The gyro plate is my go-to but the chicken shawarma looks insane. Maybe one day I'll get out of my rut and try it!
google avatar

Yelp
I was BEYOND disappointed. The people were nice but the food flavor and quality was subpar. Dry chicken shwarma wrap. I literally gave it to my neighbor dog. I won't be returning.

Yelp
Amazing amaaaaazing amazing! We visited the Clarkston after seeing a clip on National Public Television about the diversity there. Merhaba is EXCELLENT! Go there now, you won't regret it. My husband had the mix chicken & meat shawarma plate and I had the falafel plate. Oh my goshhhh honestly the food here makes me want to move to Clarkston. WOW! Whatever the spicy sauce came on the side... CHEF SMOOCH!

Pamela G.

Yelp
The food was great. We were not sure what to expect, but everything was so flavorful and good. The lettuce was crispy and fresh. The chicken wrap and the chicken and rice with salad were so good. Much better than we get in other places. We were impressed that the restaurant inspection sheet on the wall said 100 A. You don't often see that in restaurants. We will definitely go there again.

Yelp
Visited Merhaba Shawarma late last week for an early dinner. The restaurant is easy to find, but the parking lot is small, like enough-parking-spaces-for-6 cars small. There was only one other car when I stopped to order food, so the small parking lot was of little concern for me. I have no idea what the inside of the very small restaurant looks like. Due to Covid-19, the friendly female owner had locked the front door and posted a limited menu on the glass door. She keeps an eye on people who show up at the door, and, while you're still standing outside, will take your order, then, while you wait outside, will lock the door and cook your food and prepare it for take out. You can also call your order ahead of your arrival. I ordered the beef shawarma plate and took it home to eat. For the good price and the amount of food given, it was a good deal. The weight of the food must've been well over a pound. Strips of beef were placed on top of a very generous helping of spiced rice. However, I didn't really care for the taste of the beef. I'm not sure if I actually was given the beef, because it tasted more like lamb, but it could've been the spices. I should have listened to that knowing voice in my head when I ordered. My brain told me to order the chicken, but my mouth overruled and told the owner beef. The salad, which had what tasted like a vinaigrette, was good. If I come back, I will try the chicken next time.

Yelp
Delicious food, cool store front - seating outside, very friendly owner. She's down to earth and cares about the food she is serving. I was lucky enough to have a quick chat with her.

G Q.

Yelp
Best shawarma spot in Atlanta hands down. isn't always open but when she is the food and service are excellent
google avatar

Peridot L.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Best falafel I've ever had- crispy and oh so flavorful. Be patient, though, because the owner runs everything- she has no other employee. Ring the doorbell and she will come and take your order. Parking is tight and there is no indoor seating. Those small inconveniences should not deter you from patronizing this amazing establishment.

Yelp
I love this little place and OMGosh the Chicken Shawarma with garlic sauce and fried rice was so tasty and yummy, I came back the next day for another. You'll be greeted by a lovely Eritrean woman Manna the Chef/co-owner that clearly puts real care into her food. It's just only 4 miles away from my work, so I am grateful to have tried and found it. Just one more thing to love about Merhaba Shawarma is very cozy and friendly space. This place might be very small with 8 to 10 seating at a time and not fancy, but the food is amazing. The lady that served me very sweet, nice, welcoming and friendly. Absolutely loved it. I'm there at least once a month or more. Shawarma is a Levantine Arab meat preparation, where lamb, goat, chicken, turkey, beef, or mixed meats are placed on a spit, commonly a vertical spit in restaurants and may be grilled for as long as a day. Shavings are cut off the block of meat for serving, and the remainder of the block of meat is kept heated on the rotating spit. Although it can be served in shavings on a plate, generally with accompaniments. Shawarma also refers to a pita bread sandwich or wrap made with Shawarma meat. Shawarma is eaten with tabbouleh, fattoush, tomato, and cucumber. Toppings include hummus, pickled turnips and amba. Shawarma is a fast-food staple across the Middle East, Europe, and the Caucasus. Halal foods are foods that are allowed under Islamic dietary guidelines. Merhaba Shawarma offers the best Chicken Shawarma in Atlanta, GA. With their free Wi-Fi at Merhaba Shawarma restaurant, customers can access the Internet using their laptops or PDAs at no charge. So grab a Chicken or Beef Shawarma and log on while you are enjoying your meal. They are open Monday thru Friday 12 PM to 8 PM and Saturday's from 12 PM to 6 PM. Their is limited free parking space in and around the restaurant but it's manageable. It is a must stop when you're in the area and could be a destination dinner location. Do yourself a huge favor and get your next meal here. I will be back for sure and would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Yelp
I consider myself to be very fortunate to be close in driving distance to the Clarkson neighborhood. This place has been on my list of "Places to visit" & I'm glad they're holding on even as we all get through this COVID-19 pandemic together. Their food is Nom!Nom!Nom! SOOO good! Great energy here in this wonderful little international community. Happy to support our local global community. Now, 'bout to throw down on this food & be blessed!

Chuck R.

Yelp
Delicious gyros. Wonderful owner! It's great to have this place so close by. Good food made by a great lady.

Yelp
The flavor was good but the chicken was old. It tasted like left over chicken . I couldn't eat most of it because it was so hard. It was a Tuesday around lunch time when I ate there. Maybe if they had more business during the week, the food would be fresher. The food was hot but it was clearly just heated in a microwave. There were even some hard clumps of rice, which tells me that it was yesterdays rice as well. I soooooo wish the food would have been fresh. I would have been able to give this place 5 stars. The lady who takes your order is very nice and accommodating. I just think that it's expensive to make fresh food when you may not sell it all especially in this economy, but I will not visit this place again. I can't risk paying $15 for food that isn't fresh, again.

Yelp
Clarkston, GA has been called one of the most ethnically diverse areas in Georgia, and Merhaba Shawarma fits right in to that discription. Leaving Revolution coffee, which is literally a stones throw away from Merhaba, if you aren't looking for it, you may miss it because it's a very small lot, holding maybe 5 or 6 cars. Walk inside and you probably have seats for about that many people as well (3 tables inside, 2 tables outside). 2 of the tables were occupied inside, so I decided to take the third. The woman working the store (not sure if she's the owner), was very friendly, and helped me narrow down my selection (I didn't want a dish with much rice) so I decided on the wrap ($6.99) I was undecided on the meat (she mentioned chicken was their top seller, the beef looked great) so she allowed me to mix chicken and beef in the wrap (very cool!). In the wrap came banana peppers, pickles, lettuce tomato, red onion, garlic sauce and a spicy sauce, all wrapped in a warm pita. From the first bite, I was in love! Flavors punched my tongue in the mouth and the flavors of this thing were crazy good! In addition to the wrap, I ordered a side of Hummus ($2.99), which also came with warm pita. The hummus, I have to admit, is why I can't give them 5 stars. It was swimming in oil, and it was missing something in terms of seasonings. Minus the oil, it wasn't bad, but it couldn't hold a candle to the wrap. Located at the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Market Street, Merhaba Shawarma is right next door to a small auto shop, and like I said, if you aren't looking for it, it's easy to miss, but it's definitely worth a stop in for a bite to eat. Small hole in the wall place with big vibrant flavors. Please check these guys out and give them some business!

Yelp
Was looking for options whittle at Clarkston. Came across this small hole in the wall through Yelp. Glad I tried it out. The Shawarma lamb plate I had was so good. The rice is flavored well and the salad was good. The place is small with a few tables and chairs but you can still eat in the restaurant. The lady working it is not very fast as it's a small space and she's the only one there. It's still worth the wait. I wish I tried the hummus and the baklava looked so good.

Yelp
Very tasty food! We enjoyed it and can't wait to go back. The falafel was tasty and so was the hummus!

Yelp
Ran across this place randomly, we wanted a quick bite, so we stopped by. So glad we decided to come here and support this business! Food was so good that I didn't even get a chance to get a picture of my plate I ate it so fast! My hubby got the gyro platter w rice and salad, and I got the chicken shawarma platter w rice and salad. Both dishes were packed with sooo much flavor! You can literally taste the love in the food. Not only was it delicious, but also, they give big portions. I will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu. Thank you for our great food and awesome customer service!

Yelp
We went at 6:30 pm on a Wednesday. It was closed with no hours listed. We had folks coming from Athens. Very disappointed and based on this poor customer service I don't foresee going back. I'd give them 0 stars because, uh, closed. What does this picture even mean? Well maybe if you had said you were on vacation I wouldn't have been so upset. We had folks drive down from Athens, Ga to eat there. No hours posted, no explanation. I understand needing a break, but that should be communicated to your customers. Nowhere did it say that. Not at the store, on the sign or the website. Nor did it say when you'd "be back". 5 minutes? 5 weeks? Most people are understanding if you communicate.

Laura W.

Yelp
Amazing food and even better service. Manna is an absolute gem of a human. The chicken schwarma plate is out of this world.
google avatar

Kelle N.

Yelp
I love this place! Realllllllly amazing spicy Chicken Shawarma wrap! My favorite thing to get here aside from the heaven-sent Mango Lassi (drink). The owner is such a cool guy, incredibly nice. If you're near the Memorial/Rockbridge area, you should drop in!
google avatar

Horn E.

Yelp
Overall, the taste was good, but there were some minor quirks not related to the food. It doesn't open until 12PM, it's closed on Sundays & Mondays, and the number of parking spaces and room to maneuver cars in the parking lot are inadequate. Due to COVID, the server (owner?) takes your order outside and then goes back in, locks the door, and prepares the food. It looked like a one-person operation. So, if she's in the middle of preparing an order or doesn't see you at the door, you might have to wait a few minutes before she pops back out again. The seating is limited and it's all outside for now. There is a retractable awning that provides shade for sunny days. I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich ($8.99). It was a satisfying one-footer (size matters!) pita rolled with hot steamy roasted chicken drizzled with some delicious spiced creamy sauce. I liked how she crisped the pita in a panini press! It would have been better if the filling had more lettuce, tomato, and other things that they usually put in a shawarma (turnip pickles, onion slices, tahini, banana pepper, +/- harissa paste, etc.), but perhaps this was the Eritrean version? Anyways, I enjoyed it for what it was. Looking a couple tables over, however, I noticed that each lady ordered the shawarma salad ($8.99), not the shawarma plate ($10.99), which looked like a better deal than my sandwich, except that they did not have pita. Their salads had more lettuce and looked more filling yet had the same amount of meat! Maybe I'll increase my fiber intake next time by ordering the salad for what would be the same price as a sandwich!

Alison E.

Yelp
Best falafel I've ever had. Seriously, the BEST falafel. Go try it now. My husband also really enjoyed his chicken gyro.
google avatar

Leah Z.

Yelp
Such a wonderful experience here!! She is a stunning lady that runs it by herself, and does an amazing job. The service was great, she was so kind, and you can tell the locals really love the place! As far as the shawarma, literally the best I've ever had. Can't recommend this place enough!

David J.

Yelp
Came by here on a Tuesday a couple weeks ago at 1230 and it was closed. Went by again today (monday) at 315 and it was closed again. Moved to the area recently and have been wanting to try it but please update your hours, or be there when you're supposed to!
google avatar

Yelp
So good...every time! Just a small operation in downtown Clarkston. Hits the stop! Never had a bad meal!
google avatar

Just M.

Yelp
I ordered A falafel wrap. I didn't ask for anything special or removed. I just wanted to see what they had to offer. I was asked if I wanted it spicy. I said yes. I've tried a lot of falafel in Atlanta in the last 14 months. This one is average on ingredients but slightly above on taste. The falafel itself was a little dry. Not the classic dry as bone garbage from imposters but not much better. For just under $7, it might be worth it if it's on your way. But for me, it wasn't worth the 4.6 mile drive. I will still try other things in the future. It's not fair to judge the place by a single menu item The parking is almost non existent. If you have a small car you're fine. The seating inside is about two small tables but the whole place looks really clean. The lady behind the counter is very nice and courteous. Non comital About recommending. For what it's worth, the best falafel I've had is either from yallas or ameers. Yalla makes their laffas so they get an edge but you have to contend with krog street market...
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
So, so good. Everything is seasoned well, and the portions are large. I had a combo plate consisting of the chicken shawarma and gyro on top of rice, and a side salad. The garlic sauce is amazing, and ask for spicy if you like some heat! Excellent customer service, and extremely accommodating. Not much table space for large parties, and limited parking. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Little hole in the wall with about three tables. The woman (maybe owner) told me not to get the food to go even though all the tables were taken. She said she would tell this guy to make room at his table. I was not interested since, how can I put this, oh yeah, I don't like people. However, I found this extremely charming. She was very nice and the service was quick. I got the spicy combo plate and it was extremely flavorful and pretty mild for spicy. Good experience
google avatar

Mercedez L.

Yelp
I really wanted to share a picture of my food but I had to dig in as soon as it arrived! It was spectacular. I haven't had good Mediterranean like this since I was living abroad. The owner is amazingly sweet and does a great job of handling the crowd. The restaurant is definitely on the casual side and there is seating for about 10 people inside. The prices are very fair (less than $10 a person). I got the beef gyro wrap with a side of rice and my fiance got the chicken wrap. The rice was delicious and you can tell it had been slow cooked for some time. It was packed with flavor! My beef wrap was also delicious. The beef was well seasoned, I loved all of the fresh veggies and garlic sauce. My fiance's ordered the chicken wrap spicy and while it had some heat, it wasn't too spicy. We will definitely be returning soon!

Yelp
Delicious schwarma in a cosy spot with charming service. This is a great place to try on your next visit to Refuge Coffee.

Yelp
I looooove this place. Huge portions, delicious flavors, and fresh food. Also, the women who runs this place is wonderfully nice and it's like eating in her kitchen at home. Make the trip out here!

Porcia D.

Yelp
Her Shawarma Wraps are fixed to perfection!! I travel a hour away Every weekend to buy my wraps from her she's the best !!!
google avatar

Kiara R.

Yelp
I happened to be in the area and got hungry so I stopped in and boy am I happy I did. I've had shawarma overseas and this definitely meets the standards. The owner is really nice and down to earth, even with a busy lunch hour. Please go in and try everything if you can!
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
The owner responded to my initial review after 4 years and asked me not to racial profile. HUH? He sounds dumb! I said the shawarma was not authentic and may have been an Ethiopian version of a shawarma. How is that racial profiling? I'm calling it what it is! It is not an authentic shawarma, which is a middle eastern sandwich. It was not good and that's it. Mr Alvin the owner, next time respond with something more intelligent or go and learn how to make an authentic shawarma. Better yet, call your sandwich something else. Yes, some people like it because they're your people and may not know what an authentic shawarma should taste like.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Wednesday night with a party of 6. We gathered the tables together and ordered. Recommend: Chicken Shawarma plate, vegetarian plate and stuffed grape leaves. The lady who is both the owner and chef gives huge portions for the food and seasons the salad well. The chicken was flavorful and the RICE WAS AMAZING! I could eat the rice alone for all of the spices in it. Our food was dressed in garlic sauce or white sauce. Service: the owner asked if we wanted spicy sauce and delivered each of us our own spicy sauce for our food. A great halal shawarma place in the heart of Clarkston. Support Clarkston local businesses!

Yelp
I recommend the combination plate with spicy sauce. It was so good and it hits the spot. Wouldn't expect food from this place was so good.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Love this place. Awesome shawarma, and it is located in an area of downtown that is in desperate need of quality, non-chain restaurants.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Always amazing! Shawarma, wraps, baklava. Ask for the spicy sauce (it's not too spicy). My kids love the rice...
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
Good Service, really good spicy falafel ... Terrible hummis The lady that works the front is super friendly and makes all the food fresh to order The falafel sandwich is made with wheat flour pita, which doesn't taste too flavorful. The spicy sauce is really good, and the falafel is crisped fresh. The wrap includes fresh pickles and onions with tahini and lettuce The hummus was gross, overload of garlic, a slight drizzle of olive oil and some weird chunks of curds through out = skip it
google avatar

Turtle B.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place. I had never had Shawarma before and the spices and flavors on everything is the best that I've had, hands down. There is some love in this food. This place is run by a very kind woman, she cooks, plates the food, and rings it up. Sometimes there is a wait and I don't mind waiting for this food. Well worth it.
google avatar

Anh B.

Yelp
I have never had Shawarma food before until my friend brought me food here. This place has the best fries rice over chicken, I think this plate called Shawarma chicken plate. If you ever come here order this dish and extra rice, bc after eating this dish you will want to eat more of the rice. So much flavor to the rice. The rice tasted like Indian fries rice but with a kick of Shawarma flavor but so much better. Just thinking about this makes me want to have more of it right now. This is a MUST HAVE DISH HERE!!. I try their hummus and it was ok, not the best but it's better than most place. You have to order the pita with it and its's wheat as well. I like the flour pita more than wheat. I tried BaBA Ghanouj which is eggplants and this wasn't really my favorite dips.
google avatar

Tynisa H.

Yelp
Love at first bite! I love going into an establishment where the owner gets up close and personal with you. You will be treated like family here and not just some mere customer. The food is absolutely amazing and you can feel the love that's poured into it. Generous portions sizes, inexpensive and the freshest food you can have! You can dine inside or out. Take it to go! Now that the weather is warming up, this is a great place to have a bite and enjoy the outdoors while doing so! If I can give more stars, I would!
google avatar

Ariel A.

Yelp
I just got here and I love this place already! This is a small stop on the side of the road with the best food. Eating Halal! Great! This is the place! I had the Gryo with lamb. It was so good! Spicy but not to much. I will be going back
google avatar

Elijah G.

Yelp
I had the rice with chicken and gyro meat! It was so delicious I loved it! I would suggest you come here as well! Great pricing and friendly customer service. Will be back!
google avatar

Rebecca O.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The chicken shawarma is a perfect mix of flavor. The falafel wrap is a little more savory than your traditional Mediterranean falafel wrap, but I liked it a lot. It's run by a very nice woman who makes you feel like you're eating at her own kitchen table. Overall, I'll definitely be back and will get the spicy chicken shawarma!
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
This place is five stars all the way around. I got the beef gyro and it was very good and I love crinkle fries. The best part about this place is the customer service. The lady was so sweet and nice and it seemed the whole crowd knew her and was coming to order just so they could see her and eat her food. I had a great time by myself just bc of the warm welcoming and atmosphere.
