Google
This location is no longer Meridian Hive meadery, it’s now Celis Brewery, but the twist is, they serve Meridian Hive here still. So I was able to try their lemon mead, which was delicious. I loved it so much that I bought a 64oz growler, and drove around Texas with it for a week.

My girlfriend surprised me with a tour of the brewery because I love mead. I was skeptical about mead in a can. We tasted some flavors and they were all pretty decent my favorite was Discovery. Was surprised to see it was that packed with people. I was very satisfied with their flavors.

Google
The place to drink amazing mead made by Austin alchemists. Join their club if you want the perfect experience, or just find their elegant bottles for any celebration. Bring Rosé and Lemon, they will probably make you popular at any gathering. But, Ella, just save it for yourself!

Google
I love this place. Went there last November to try mead, its delicious. I go to chill and have a glass and play a game they have available and then buy a bottle of my favorite seasonal selection and enjoy from home. Highly recommended.

Mike & Kyal are wonderful. Very personable and the Mead is great. A must try for Mead & honey enthusiast.

Google
Great brewery and taproom hidden in northeast Austin! They have many different flavors, and are always brewing new ones. They have both draft (carbonated) and still (wine-like) meads.

Google
I placed an order and it came in pretty bad shape Meridian Hive got my replacement order out in a timely manner and made sure it was packed correctly. Their customer service is great. Cannot wait to make it down there for a visit

Google
These guys know what they're doing...if you haven't tried their mead, you should. They have a hopped mead that is fantastic and refreshing. They're experimenting with different honeys and adjuncts, and each one has been great so far. Their labels are cool too. They are also very nice and helpful. They love talking to people about the mead too. Nice visit.

Yelp
I am coming from out of town and was looking forward to a Meridian Hive brew. However,The Celis Brewery (10001 Metric Blvd Austin, TX 78758) makes their beer and shows up as Meridian Hive on google. The company doesn't have a taproom location but Celia occasionally has Meridian on tap. The beer at Celis is still really solid. I had a Honey Blonde Ale.

Yelp
Owner Mike is super nice and informational. We had a groupon for a tour which is think Matt have been a bit different than what we expected. It isn't a very big layout so there isn't much to see but overall a really nice laid back place to hang out. The mead is pretty cool...kind of tasted like a cross between a wine and a cider with more of a craft beer audience. The honeys they offered to taste were lovely.

Yelp
They lied to us about being dog-friendly. NOT DOG-FRIENDLY! My husband and I were in town from Austin with our 2 pups. I called and asked if they were dog-friendly, they said yes. When we got there, I walked in and asked if they were dog-friendly, they said yes. My husband and our 2 pups walked in, grabbed a flight, and played a game. After an hour, I ordered another drink while he took the pups out for a bathroom break. He texts me "They won't let me back in." Apparently they weren't actually dog-friendly, and the bartender lied, or at best had mis-information. They offered us their outdoor picnic table, but there was broken glass everywhere. They comped the drink I had just ordered, but really should have comped everything. We wouldn't have gone if we would have known that we weren't welcome. That said, this isn't a terrible place to spend a rainy afternoon if you're from Austin. They have games and flights. Their draft meads all kind of taste the same, but the recent elderflower LTO was pretty good. We're from Dallas, and I won't waste an afternoon here again.

Yelp
Meridian Hive is expanding and growing up! It's great to see quality local businesses thrive. The experience at Meridian Hive has changed. There is now a wide selection of meads to taste, and you have to pay for a tasting. There are different tasting flights you can select from on the menu, or you can try it all for $15. The place is no longer quiet and sleepy, it is busy and buzzing. They need to re-organize themselves to be able to better handle the traffic. They need a separate line for those just coming in to fill growlers, and those enjoying a tasting experience and interested in learning about the different meads and the process. The two staff members were friendly, but were rushed to serve others. The mead is still as delicious as always, and they are planning to even start canning some of it! They are also re-branding and their growlers now have their new modern logo. I just hope they keep the awesome art on their bottles. I love the genius artistic bottle labels. For the first time they also had a meat and cheese plate that you could order. Something new they were trying out. It was tasty! They should definitely keep it. They also now have a loyalty program that earns you discounts. Also, be sure to check out the board as they have reoccurring monthly events like Friday board game night!!

Yelp
Meridian Hive Meadery is pretty cool! I hadn't tried mead until this year when I tried some of Meridian Hive's stuff at the Mueller Farmer's Market. We bought a growler from them and we were always determined to fill it back up, but we always seemed to go to the farmer's market when they weren't there. Darn. No more worrying about that, though, because now they have a building for all your mead needs! I always seem to gravitate toward the Rhapsody, because it has blackberries in it, and I love anything and everything blackberry. Meridian Hive will let you try anything for free, which is great. Some day, I'm going to branch out and try all of their stuff instead of just getting the Rhapsody. They also have several different kinds of honey for you to sample, which was really cool. You can purchase various things here, like growlers, glasses, and metal signs, if you're into those sorts of things. They sell their mead by the growler or by the bottle, depending on what you order and have much you want. There isn't a ton of seating, as they seem to be a newer operation, but I didn't find that to be a problem. They also have some board games out for anyone to play, which I thought was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they don't have any food here yet. I don't know if they allow you to bring food in, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if that's something you are dying to know. The ladies who were working the day I visited were very sweet and super willing to answer any and all questions. Funny story: this place is basically right down the street from my old office. I bet a mead buzz would have made work more enjoyable, but now I never have to find out. No complaints here!

Yelp
Not only a delicious and unique twist on mead (awesome traditional mead as well!) but top notch service too! They have great events like movie showings, game nights, etc. I highly suggest you come check it out - they even provide a free education on all the ins-and-outs of mead.

Molly L.

Yelp
Having never tried mead before in my life, I was a little hesitant to try this place, and I can say I am quite happy I did try it. I sampled a few different meads and ended up ordering one that was a blackberry flavor, it was absolutely delicious , not too sweet which had been my worry when it came to mead. All of the other flavors I tasted were yummy as well. The atmosphere is a open warehouse. They provide some board games to keep you entertained which made me and my friends quite happy . The employees were very knowledgeable and friendly as well.

Jocelyn F.

Yelp
Highly recommend! They have knowledgeable and friendly staff with a great atmosphere. Great variety of meads of all different flavors and sweetness levels. It is highly affordable and a great alternative to other alcohols. Try a flight of their still meads and draft meads. Only good things to say about this establishment!

Bianca B.

Yelp
Where to start...maybe with the word Fabulous or Flavorful is best. Each and every mead they have I tasted and found to be delicious. From refreshing and crisp to aromatic and fruity. Definitely give them a try.

Jason D.

Yelp
Amazing experience, and the atmosphere is the best part of it. Great vibe with great lighting, warm friendliness, great staff, and an overall welcoming feel that has to be cultivated and nurtured.

Collin G.

Yelp
I'm not a local to Austin, but this place was recommended to me by a local and they were not wrong. This place is awesome. I was shocked how few people were there on a Saturday afternoon. The employees were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Absolutely love this place. It's just a great place to gather around, drink some mead, and hang out with friends.

Rachel F.

Yelp
Great experience and amazing staff. Shared a full flight tasting with the boyfriend, and was walked through all the flavors and styles patiently. We even came in towards the end of the day, and didn't feel rushed or anything. Fun place to visit and easy to get to.

Kelseigh R.

Yelp
Warning: Apple Maps puts this on the wrong side of the road. It's on the South side, East most unit. Once we finally found the place, we were greeted quite quickly and taken back for sampling. Immediately we were treated to generous samples of *everything.* Samples just kept coming until we had tasted the entire lineup. Evan ran us through everything with great explanations and loads of information. As any good teacher, he snuck in repeats of information in different ways to help cement it. He took us on the grand tour. It doesn't look like much since it's small, but there's a lot of information and a lot to learn. Evan was great at tailoring his tour to our level of expertise: two of us with Mead and home brewing experience and two n00bs. Apparently they distribute from San Antonio to DFW and they've only really been on the market for a year and a half! Their prices reflect their quickly growing popularity, but it's well worth it. They have a Mead for everyone and even honey to sample. The staff was able to tell us about a lot of events as well. The Texas Mead Festival isn't too far away from Austin and it's in September. The world festival is in Longmont, Colorado. They also make appearances at local farmers markets as well.

Yelp
My first time trying mead and I love it! Friendly and knowledgeable staffs. My favorite is the colossus and om.

Lauren R.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming here Fridays after work with some friends. They have some really great classic meads as well as nice draft meads. They also have EA collection of board games that you can play while you're drinking. I just wish that they had more hours.

Wendy K.

Yelp
Loved the sweet meads. The grand opening was great and it was wonderful hanging pie with friends. Got to see people I have not seen in a long time. Reasonable prices and friendly service!

Tasa B.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! By far the best mead I have ever tried! I would recommend it to anyone. I will be back!

Kristen G.

Yelp
This was quite the surprising little spot. We went on a Friday after work for an old movie premier they were doing at the brewery and were very pleasantly surprised on what we walked into... GREAT I promise!! Not only is everyone there extremely knowledgeable about the brand but they are friendly and accommodating. If you are an avid mead drinker or want to try it for the first time Meridian Hive is where you need to go. We went for a taste and left knowing that they made a forever customer.

Len S.

Yelp
We went yesterday afternoon and celebrated national mead day (who knew there was such a day?) they had a breakfast food truck & a musician playing. They have 10 plus meads on tap. We tried the hoppy one, lemon one & blackberry one. All were excellent. Was a cool place. Only open weekends

Charlie S.

Yelp
Cool place. You can bring your own bottles or growlers. Their pricing is based on liters. Not all of their mead is available on tap. Some is pre-bottled. It's all good.

Dorothy M.

Yelp
This place is well kept and clean. Trucks are too. Good people. Friendly place. Dogs are welcome. Don't go during Halloween due to the haunted house next door you won't find parking.

Lara B.

Yelp
What a great place to go and enjoy some great wine made of honey instead of sugar. Really good and definitely recommend going if your looking for a new taste to add to your wine collection. Plus the bottles are super cute :)

Hopeye M.

Yelp
Located in a quiet industrial area near the main post office. The tasting room is nothing fancy but you can try all their meads before you commit to a glass. There are also several pilot batches on which are only available at the Meadery. Their meads span the spectrum of low alcohol session meats to big boozy ones. You can get glasses of mead most for $5. You can also fill a growler to take home. On nice days they open up the back area where you can hang out and enjoy the weather. A great place to kill a few hours and have some great mead

Xtina R.

Yelp
I love mead. I'm very picky when it comes to mead. I discovered Meridian Hive on a chance outing to a pizzeria in Round Rock one day. Upon viewing the drink menu, there was mead listed. My eyes instantly lit up and I immediately ordered a glass. It was divine. Then it was discovered that said mead was local. As in made in Austin. A quick Google search later I was following g directions to the hive. The building is super easy to miss. There put a sign outside since the first visit there. At first glance you will think you are in the wrong place. Trust me, go into the parking lot, and take a walk inside. I thought it was awesome that I was inside a local meadery, was able to taste the different varieties, and sample the honey as well. My first visit I purchased a growler and two glasses to take home. I've since decided this will be one of if not the only mead I drink. I love the selection and variety, I love that they are local to Austin, and I love that you can go an sample new flavors.

Yelp
We purchased your product today to try, it was literally one of the worst things I have ever put in my mouth. We paid $4.49 for ONE CAN, and was the worst $4.49 I have ever spent. I would have been better off just flushing my money down the toilet (where your product belongs). My husband described it like this: "this tastes like if you took all the retarded bees, gave them their own hive, the took the honey to make then drink from that hive of retard bees"...this stuff is AWFUL.

Wendy C.

Yelp
We your wineries and meaderies as a hobby. This is the longest we have ever waited in line at a tasting room. We still haven't tasted the mead yet and it's 20 minutes and counting. The tasting room, while spacious there isn't enough counter space to accommodate the patrons for a tasting. We are next in line and there are two groups behind us waiting. There is a group of 6 tasting now and that complicates things even more. We tasted some mead from here at HEB last weekend and we thought we would actually come by.

Andrew B.

Yelp
As of March 2015, Meridian Hive Meadery offers tasting at their North Austin location of all their current offerings on Fridays and Saturdays. Their dry-hopped sparkling mead is outstanding, and their traditional still meads showcase some wonderfully unique honeys. Makes a great outing with friends, but see to it that your group has a designated driver or plan to hang around for a while.

Robert B.

Yelp
Love this! Tired of the beer/wine/spirits of the central Texas area? (don't get me wrong, we are blessed with incredible wineries and distilleries in the area!), however, Meridian is incredible! Sweet to dry, amazing flavor profiles, and great knowledgeable staff. You will find a mead that suits your taste and preference. Well done Meridian!

Yelp

Yelp
Jess was so nice when he gave us his wonderful tasting tour. We ended up buying quite a few bottles of Meade. I especially liked the Blackberry Blossom.

Ashley B.

Yelp
I was introduced to Honey Mead several weeks ago at the Mueller Farmer's Market. And I have been hooked ever since! Several friends and I had the opportunity to visit the the meadery on Saturday and boy did we have a good time. It was great to just relax and sample several awesome meads. Evan was extremely knowledge, patient and kind. I can't remember the name of the blond lady who was working there as well, but she was a sweetheart as well. I recommend that anyone wanting to try something different but delicious, check out the Meridian Hive Meadery!

Joanne P.

Yelp
One of the next big trends to come up in Austin. Meridian Hive Meadery is a humble area tucked away in Austin. We walked in and were greeted with a 10+ mead tasting for free. I forgot the guy's name who helped us but he was very knowledgeable on the mead there. I had tasted the rhapsody mead at Hopdoddy last week and I was inspired to find where it came from. Now I am not the biggest fan of mead. However, Meridian Hive Mead is very drinkable without being too sweet. My husband isn't a sweet person either and he loved everything. We bought some Aurora on tap and drank there for a while, watching others come and go for their tasting. We ended up buying growlers of the Aurora, Rhapsody, and a bottle of still mead. I highly recommend trying this place out, even if you don't like sweeter wines. You will like this mead! The service is hospitable and the workers are very nice. I see this place becoming popular in the next few years :)
