How to Plan a Ski Trip to Whistler

An Eater’s Guide to Whistler, British Columbia - Eater

"At Blackcomb’s Upper Village Base, Merlin’s packs in the crowds with its casual and classic ski-town-bar feel. Most tables begin with an order of the epically enormous nachos." - Naomi Tomky

Had a great experience at this location! The customer service was outstanding. If you’re a calamari lover, it’s a must-try. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, so you can choose what suits you best.

Stopped in for Merlin’s 50% off Brunch quite the deal! I ordered the Full Monty and as you can see by the picture it sure is massive. The dish was savoury, salty, and fatty with the perfect amount of acidity to cut through it. I devoured the whole thing, sometimes you need to treat yourself. Everything was cooked to perfection definitely recommend.

One of my favorite after ski spots. I love a burger after skiing and had tried several before Merlin’s and it’s one of the best. I tried the other top rated burgers on google and yelp but this and Provisions were my favorite. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, overall great spot!

One of or favourite bars to go to in Whistler before or after skiing. Great atmosphere , loud music playing great tunes, friendly service from the staff and great lager. Close to the gondola and our accommodation too. Food was excellent and comfortable seating. Good menu with plenty of choice.

Merlin's is an iconic Blackcomb ski bar! We went here on Christmas day and it was so fun! We got the nachos which is huge!!! I unfortunately forgot to get a picture but it was so good! The bartenders are so friendly and fun. We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend stopping here! Edit: Went back and got the nachos again! Got pictures this time, lol! It was just as great the second time as the first! It was a lot busier so it took longer to get drinks but the food comes out in a timely manner. So happy to have gone here again!

I ordered the “Big Canadian “. It’s lives up to its name. It was huge. Chef Spencer made the combination just right for the palate. The order consisted of bacons, hash brown, baby potatoes, omelet and waffle complete with syrup. I highly recommend it before hitting the slopes. Also Connie and Ire made us feel comfortable which added to the Cosiness of the cafe’s ambience.

Pretty good spot for lunch. After a full morning of biking, my group and I rolled up to the nice patio and enjoyed lunch. We were able to leave our bikes next to the railing to keep an eye on it. The patio is very large and most tables have umbrellas. It was nice to seat ourselves and go inside to order at the bar. The food came out quickly and was hot. I ordered the chicken souvlaki w/side of fries and my husband ordered the lam kofta bowl. The bowl seemed a little small but ended up being filling. My fries were delicious and a large serving, so easy to share with my husband.
