"On a nice sunny day, Ashley Boalch Darby met up with her mom at her favorite Falls Church nursery and paused to check out its chives and tomatoes. She was prepping for her housewarming party, which was handled by DMV-wide catering company Creme de La Creme. The themed backyard garden party, called “Seaside in the City,” also featured a specialty cocktail menu for the ladies showcasing Baltimore-made De La Craft Mixers." - Vinciane Ngomsi, Tierney Plumb

Google
Merrifield has a ton of different options to choose from, whether they’re for outside or inside use. Their staff is also very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be how expensive everything is in comparison to other stores selling similar products. I still recommend checking this place out though!

Google
I stumbled upon this location by accident and immediately visited. I was super impressed by the huge variety of plants, trees and anything you could think of to start your own garden. I was a very disappointed because everything is extremely expensive. I was able to find what I was looking for but I but I noticed that some of the plants had pests and some plants were in very bad shape too. I asked for help from an older white lady and she was very dismissive and kept correcting me with an attitude. When I tried to ask her a second question she ignored me and she walked away. Im not going back.

Google
Merrifield Garden Center is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful garden centers in the DC area that offers an extensive range of plant selections and decorations. They also have a large selection of Christmas decorations and trees that might leave you amazed. The pictures showcase the impressive collection of Christmas decorations available for sale. Additionally, the staff is incredibly friendly, making your shopping experience even more delightful.

Google
We selected 36 trees and shrubs from Merrifields for a large landscaping project at my church. We received the highest quality plants, plus very helpful service from the staff onsite on several visits. Can't speak highly enough for this company and their staff. They had all of the plants that we wanted, including many native plants that can be hard to find. Postwinter update: all the trees and shrubs are still in great shape and are budding!

Google
If you need mulch and need it fast, go here. Merrifield Garden Center can provide you with quick service and deliver the mulch straight to your car. We got 6 bags of hardwood mulch and were in and out in 5 minutes flat... Can't beat that!

Google
Always a great place to come and look for garden supplies, from tools to seeds, from plants to full grown trees of all kinds. I spoke with Jay (1 of 2 full time horticulturalists) this time about killing off bamboo and he was so thoroughly helpful in giving recommendations. Yes you can go elsewhere and find things cheaper, but you can’t put a price on experience, knowledge and true customer caring staff. Highly recommend visiting Merrifield. A recommendation form a life long resident of the area and a locally based General Contractor.

Google
What a beautiful place!! I just wanted to get a chair and a drink and sit in the middle of all the plants. It was uplifting and what made It even better is Tony. What a great customer service. I went to Merrifield looking for a bloodgood japanese maple tree and found exactly what I wanted. I felt sad walking away without the persimon and the fig tree and I wish I had space and backyard for them but will definitely comeback very often . This place is therapy!!

Google
Amazing (if at times, overwhelming) selection. A great way to spend a time warp, as you will, no doubt, forget to check your watch. A bit perplexed by the "no returns" policy with the greenhouse plants. It's a very strong message. Maybe a gentler approach would be better? Something like, "we're here to help, so your plant shouldn't die..." I still bought one... a baby mimosa! I had fun!

Yelp
Wow do I love these folks! The original location. Parking is still plentiful, and their employees are the best. Good luck finding better, as my apologies for forgetting the employees name but his recommendation of "The Secret Lives of Trees" was an incredible book. It taught me a lot, and as a life long learner my thanks! If you're in the area, definitely go to Merrifield Garden Center. They have other locations, but this is where I like to be. Their selection of everything from plants to trees is unbelievable. Also they are very competitive priced. With inflation these days, you don't want to pay an oak tree load of acorns. They have truly an incredible amount of choices, and always have been grateful for their support. This place is legendary.

Yelp
I stumbled across Merrifield Garden Center and it was a wonderful find. The complimentary parking was an added bonus. While the prices lean towards the higher side, it's a genuine flower shop with a broad selection and much more. Overall, I would consider returning to Merrifield Garden Center.

Yelp
Frequently visited all 3 locations of this garden center when I was living in NOVA - my favorite garden center in the country! I miss living near this place and being able to peruse the aisles of their beautiful selection of plants and always taking something lovely home with me.

Yelp
This was my first time at this store. I decided to check it out since I saw an Instagram post about them having decorated Christmas trees. There were a ton of decorated trees and ornaments to pick from. I was glad to finally check it out during the holidays. I will definitely come back next year to pickup some Christmas decor.

Sadia K.

Yelp
Huge selection of flowers, plants, garden decor, trees, etc. - you can get lost in this garden center for hours! Jose works in the trees area, and is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He helped us pick out an apple tree with four varieties, and gave us very detailed instructions on how to care for it. They get very crowded on the weekends, for good reason!

Mark N.

Yelp
Superior selection of trees, plants, flowers and gear. Decent prices. Great customer service.

Yelp
My home away from home, lol. I Adore this place! They have everything for your home & garden needs & if you're a plant head like me, then this is heaven for you! I went to get a bird bath, a nozzle for my hose, & some mulch. A storm blew in & the skies opened up with mother nature's shower! Several trees & plants had fallen victim to the intense storm but the employees just had fun with the crazy weather & it was so nice & refreshing to see! I was enjoying it too so I appreciated their laissez-faire attitude toward the storm! Love this place!

Yelp
As another reviewer noted, this place is like Candy Land for the garden enthusiast. Great selection of plants, and they are generally of high quality. For example, a few years ago we bought a selection of various apple trees for our orchard from Merrifield and some more rural competitors a bit further outside the beltway -- the Merrifield trees have flourished while the others not so much. Would give five stars if it were not for the high markups and walking straight into an active wasp nest while perusing through one of their outdoor displays.

Yelp
Lovely nursery w/well knowledge staff/experts, fresh popcorn.... Pricey compared to other nurseries but well stocked

Alex P.

Yelp
Came here for some fun plant shopping for indoor plants. They have such a variety in their greenhouse. All of the plants were in healthy condition. They have common and unique plants. I was able to purchase a medium sized prayer plant $34.99, string of pearls $12.99, and a marbled pathos for $8.99. Additionally I found these beautiful off white/tan terracotta pots. Overall, prices are on the higher side but the quality is high. Less unique plants like the pathos run similar pricing as Lowes/ Home Depot but better value. I will definitely be back, my plants are already happy at home and no sign of over watering, pests, or disease. Would recommend this location for your indoor plant needs

Yelp
The help clinic desk is awesome. The first time I needed help, they gave excellent advice on selecting fertilizer and the correct portions for planting strubs we purchased there. The 2nd time I had a fungus growing on my lawn, I took a picture of it and showed the person at the desk, he informed me it was ash fungus which very common in July and it is not harmful. No treat necessary. They have an excellent selection of high-quality plants and trees. The staff are truly invaluable. They are knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Monica R.

Yelp
I love this place! Really lovely to visit and walk around, lots of areas of plant interest to investigate. Plants look very healthy and well cared for. Nice gift area. Helpful staff for any questions you may have.

Bob J.

Yelp
Recently went to Merrifield Garden Center and there was a huge inventory of trees, shrubs, bushes etc. Staff was very helpful and courteous. I live in Alexandria so it is not close to my house but is worth the trip.

Yelp
Single most disorganized, unprofessional, and downright infuriating business I've ever interfaced with. I live in the Midwest and designed a small flower garden for my mom in northern VA as a gift. Merrifield is the most expensive landscaper in the area, but I decided to go with them because I thought I could trust them with the job since I wasn't going to be physically present during install. Boy, was I wrong. I flew to VA to meet with the landscaper in May and we discussed how it was going to work. We looked at the property, agreed to finalize a contract, then get it installed a few weeks later. Fast forward to the present moment while I'm writing this review: tomorrow is September 1, and we still don't have a finalized contract. The several-hundred dollar's worth of rhizomes I bought in April need to be planted in the next week in order to develop roots strong enough to withstand the first frost, or else they'll go bad and all that money is wasted. For the life of me, I can't get the designer to return my phone calls. The job is very simple: plant three different things, add fertilizer, take a bush out. $1500. Over and over again I have written emails correcting the faulty contract and the designer simply isn't taking the feedback. He takes weeks and countless voicemails to get back to me. I made it a weekly practice a couple of months ago to call the flagship every Friday to bother Merrifield about the job. I probably sound insane for not just finding someone else, but I had already put money into the project with them and because we met in person, it has felt like if we can just get over this edge, it will be easier than flying to VA to make another appt with someone else. I decided to make a last-ditch effort today, and I called this morning around 11am. A woman took my name and phone number and promised to call back within an hour. Do we think she followed through? No, of course not. Now it's 5 pm, and I called back again. I got someone else who interrupted me mid-sentence and transferred me to someone's voicemail. It's always dead ends with a woman named Arianna's voicemail with this place. You call and everyone wants to send you to Arianna but Arianna is never around and when she is, she indicates vaguely that the problem will be fixed but look at this...it's September, I'm begging these people to take my money, and I can't get them to plant my flowers. I called back two more times and the guy took the phone off the hook and hung up. I kept calling and after a while, I got him to pick up again. I asked why he kept hanging up on me, he played dumb, and then got the General Manager. Within 30 seconds of talking to the GM, he found my file and all the info about the job. Voila! I have a week to get this done and will update my review then.

Yelp
At the Merrifield store I was helped by a wonderfully supportive sales person. In looking at the few remaining Winter Ornamental Cabbage on the rack, Christine walked me around the yard until I found others to choose from, actually two that matched. She answered my questions and trimmed off the dead bottom leaves as I indicated it was a present. I couldn't have asked for better customer service. Thank you and Happy Holidays.

Yelp
Eleanor and Larry are the best and care about what they do!!!!! such a fun place with nice workers! they took the time to make us a nice mistletoe bunch and we really appreciate it !

Yelp
Merrifield Garden Center is the ultimate gardening hub for Northern Virginia. The place is honestly HUGE, and it's covered from front to back with every kind of plant, shrub, flower, and tree you could possibly imagine. They have experts walking around to help you (and you WILL need help!), wagons, and shopping carts at the front, and literally just so, so, so many plants. It's a fun place to take your kids to look around and walk through the aisles (as long as you can keep track of them -- mine are a little shorter than some of the shrubbery so I kept losing sight HA!) too. My daughter picked out a nice little flower pot from the annuals section when I came here recently to help my brother and sister-in-law look at bushes for their front yard. A classic Northern VA experience is to be had at Merrifield Garden Center! Just be aware, now is clearly their busy season -- the place was packed! They do a great Christmas tree business in Nov/Dec too.

Yelp
I was very confused about different treatments for my garden plants. Jay (in the Merrifield Center) was kind, patient and knowledgeable. It was an excellent learning experience and I'm indebted to Jay and Merrifield for employing him. Thank you, again, Jay. I follow your instructions (buy the right stuff) and I get the outcome you advise. .cm

Yelp
I just love this place. Not only is it gargantuan, but it's gardener's heaven. Every plant and accessory known to woman, and then some. Particularly nice is the greenhouse, where lately I've been entranced by the spanish moss and other air-based plants, as well as a decent selection of carnivorous plants. Yes, if you are a fly, you should stay off of my balcony.

Yelp
The Merrifield Garden Center is celebrating their 50th anniversary (see my photo), and they were very busy on this sunny Saturday afternoon. So many people! The employees were all very nice and friendly; several of them said hi to and petted our doggy, and offered him treats. The Center is just as beautiful (the indoor space was decked out with spring decors).

Dan N.

Yelp
Ordered a few crape myrtle trees with delivery service. Good services all around. Thank you.

Johnny N.

Yelp
I placed a mixed order for delivery more than two weeks in advance for an a.m. delivery. I called just before 11am looking for an ETA which could not be provided by the girl who answered the phone. She also said that no time slot was selected which was untrue because I was staring right at it on the invoice. I wait several more hours, now it is 3:30pm, and call back hoping to speak to someone who can get an ETA for me. The same girl answers who now directs me to a manager. While I am on the phone waiting for the manager to pick up, probably to pretend to be proactive, the driver calls and I do not switch over. After speaking to the manager, who coincidentally can see my a.m. time slot, I am transferred back to the same girl who tells me that the driver has tried calling several times today and got no answer. This was absolutely false as the first time anyone called from Merrifield Garden Center was while I was on hold to speak to the manager. This girl (and I wish I got her name but she didn't give it and probably for a reason) essentially lied to me three times rather than follow through with anything resembling customer service. I call the driver back who tells me that he is about to load the truck and will be at my house in 30 minutes. 45 minutes later, they call me asking what I purchased... Wow. A similar delivery fiasco happened last year, so it's obviously a training issue. Or they drop service after getting paid, I don't know. I'll admit that I'm a small time customer spending anywhere from $2000-4000 every spring. From what I'm experiencing, they apparently don't mind doing customers like me wrong and losing the business. Post delivery note: My a.m. delivery ended up being completed at 5:30pm. The delivery was missing 6 sacks of natural hummus. I'm sure stopping by tomorrow after work to get my money back will be quick and painless.

Adrian C.

Yelp
Great customer service and good pricing. I went to look around and ended up buying 4 plants and $80 worth of planting materials They have so many planters! Probably one of the better selections I've seen around Northern VA.

Ian P.

Yelp
Great selection, great friendly service and totally recommend for garden needs. Thanks!

Yelp
One of our favorite nurseries in the DC area. Merrifield has a large selection of high quality plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Staff members are helpful, although not all of them are equally knowledgeable. The space allows for good organization by type and growing condition, although we always get help from staff in navigating the selection. Supplies and accessories - from wind chimes to bird feeders to gardening boots with whimsical prints - can be found inside the building and across the street is a large lot where you can pick up stone, mulch, pavers, etc. in bulk. We also worked with Merrifield professional services to design and plant a large hillside in our backyard. They are professional and responsive but pricey. Our designer, Richard, provided a plan for a beautiful, flowing landscape with thoughtful detail toward color and seasons. He also revised it a few times to respond to our concerns and feedback. We finalized the plan in May but weren't able to get it on the calendar until July due to Merrifield's schedule. This created additional costs to have the hillside cleared again before planting. I was worried about mid-summer planting but Richard assured us proper care and watering would be enough to protect the new plants from the heat and any summer storms. He also he checked in afterward and encouraged us to stay in touch so he could help us proactively manage any plant damage. Several months later, with careful watering and maintenance, the hillside is still looking strong and will hopefully be in good shape for the winter. I can't wait to see it in the spring!

Pe E.

Yelp
Although this place has a much greater variety of things than other nursery or people, you really come here for the help. 99% of their employees go out of the way to help you and are very knowledgable. We have dealt with Caitlyn and the few times we have dealt with someone else, they often call Caitlyn! Caitlyn goes OUT OF HER WAY to talk through options, native plants, plant-maintenance etc. and things as silly as colors. Super friendly to boot. If they dont have it, she offers to try and order it- I forgot to say in the other review that every time I get home with her recommendations, the are always A+. Literally the star employee of the year for us. The plant clinic is great as well for any issues. More expensive than H.Depot but you get so much more.

Doug B.

Yelp
We just purchased lots of annuals for seasonal color. To our great dismay when we got home we discovered that some of the soil mix contained pieces of toxic styrofoam as a filler. Adding this petrochemical substance to our soil is a really horrible idea. They need to clean up their act and become more environmentally responsible.

David G.

Yelp
Great selection of plants, pots, soils, and other landscape related items. Hard scape items also, rock, slate. and papers. Everything you need for your yard and planting beds. Great designers and landscape architects. Come check out the locations in the area.

Yelp
5/2/21 Yesterday, I wanted to check out Merrifield Garden Center and see what my options were for upgrading my front yard.    Yes, there are many options  to choose from,  but flowers are only part of what I was looking for.  A few years ago my a friend of ours and my wife bought a plant from another garden property which is now out of business.  This plant has grown back each year since planting it.  I like this. The idea of planting Mr. Miyagi's Bonsai Trees came to mind. This might be ideal after we remove a tree from our yard.   Looking around Merrifield Garden Center I was greeted by 2 different employees who asked if I needed assistance.   The place was very crowded  since it was a Saturday.  Not so much on a school day. I did notice the 50 years shrine that has been set up, I wondered what the ceremony was like on April 9th when the 50th anniversary date came into play.   I don't think Merrifield thought they would be around for 50 years, but they have...impressive.  As I was leaving Merrifield Garden Center,  I saw a truck pulling in. The photo I saw on the truck was of landscaping. It reminded me of the work being done at my neighbor's house.  The picture of waterfalls surrounding a pond was lovely.  I pictured something like this on my property where that would be. I will come back here after taking care of a few things at home.  This place definitely has what I need to improve the look of our front yard.

Yelp
UPDATE BACK TO ONE STAR: So I noticed the trees Merrifield planted on the side of my house are never going to grow - because they're shrubs and not trees. It took a while to realize this because I thought MAYBE they'd row slowly. Nope. Just shrubs. But there was a pandemic and I waited until I could hit up the garden center again. Here's what happened. My dates might be off by one or two days but I have it logged in my texts so it's pretty accurate: 08/05/21 go in person and they say they'll have someone call me. Take my info: my name, phone number, address, the job/ invoice number from the landscaping work done. It'll be about 4 days. They have a young man take me to look at other trees, none compare at all even in size to the ones I purchased and did not get. No one called me. 08/12/21 I call, explain. They send me to a voicemail. I leave a message explaining again. No one called me. 08/16/21 call again to the person I left a message with. She answers. I'm told she'll look into it and they'll call me in 2-3 days. No one called me. 08/19/21 call again. No answers. No help. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME. So ultimately if you pay for something, expressly discuss it at length because the height of your trees matter to you given window positions on the house and how you'd like the tree size to look similar to your neighbor's across the street, wait for them to get the trees, find it's an absolute scam, and then follow up? THEY WON'T EVEN TALK TO YOU. I turned my ringer on for this company. MY. RINGER. Do you know how insane it is to have my phone actually ring?? For over a month?? Of course it was NEVER Merrifield because they never called. So I just got useless audio interruptions during the day. And now I need to find another company and remove these shrubs and get the trees I paid for the first time around that Merrifield simply won't supply.

Kevin M.

Yelp
i spent close to $6000 landscaping my townhome's front step and extremely small back yard. 2 months later, close to half the bushes are Dieing and the previous plants (that were supposed to be removed) are popping up through the mulch. I am following the care regimented provided, and have both called and left messages and sent email, but no response. I trusted meririfiel's reputation and the words of several master gardeners I asked, but never again.

Ryan K.

Yelp
Matt helped me out, on Friday 5/12 around 5pm. I arrived unsure of what I needed to design my entire backyard. Matt spent almost 1 hour listening to my ideas and providing recommendations before I bought 7 Azaleas, 3 Hydrangeas and a Japanese Maple. Matt never rushed me and provided honest feedback, allowing me to find all the plants that worked for me. I'll be coming back for sure

Mike W.

Yelp
It is often the exception that makes the rule. Last Spring, we had MGC plant some bushes and trees in our backyard. Unfortunately, the two larger trees didn't make it. I called Terri at MGC, sent her a picture, and she immediately agreed to replace them at no charge. Very accomodating! Earlier this week, Foreman Fran, and Non and Jose came to remove the dead trees and plant new ones. Excellent craftsmen! Careful, deliberate, practiced. They removed existing plantings, took out and replanted the trees, then replanted the other plants. Soil conditioner, mulch, everything. Cleaned up the patio before departing. Cordial, polite, respectful. Very good experience. You may pay a little more at MGC than at a big box store; but their value and reputation is priceless!

Max G.

Yelp
A great experience! Excellent customer service. Knowledgeable, friendly, professional employees who are also patient and genuinely willing to answer questions. If you have any gardening needs, Merrifield Garden Center is worth the trip. CHEERS to the management and employees on a job very well done and THANK YOU! I'm wishing you continued success!

Ang K.

Yelp
Definitely think Fairfax location is better. Was disappointed with the indoor plants section - so small and tiny aisles. Succulents did not look good and the overall selection was minimal. Was looking for a big ceramic pot, but they didn't come too large. They did have a very large outdoor selection, so that's probably the only plus.

Kimi S.

Yelp
I've been going here since I was a wee tyke but experiencing it as an adult is just damn delicious! I thought that garden centers were just for the warmer months but Christmas is where it's at! As soon as you walk in there is a man popping fresh hot buttered popcorn for guests. There are poinsettias in every corner and each room in their design house is decorated with loads of Christmas trees in every shape, color, and theme! It's absolutely magical. There is also Santa's post office where kids can write letters to Santa and take some photo ops! This is a great place to get inspiration or purchase a special keepsake. It is definitely a bit more expensive that other garden centers in the area but there is definitely a reason for that -- all the plants here is thriving and healthy and the customer service is unmatched.

Yelp
I went to Merrifield to find a boulder for our yard and wanted it in place for Labor Day weekend. I found exactly what I wanted way back in their quarry area behind the normal retail items. Chris managed everything to do with the stone items. I told him I didnt want it delivered bc I wanted it for the weekend. With that, he set about making it happen. He was enormously helpful and friendly. He knew his inventory down to the very stone even though there were countless palettes. He got the forklift and loaded it in my car. His skill with the forklift was truly impressive. I could have watched that all day. He was focused on not damaging my car and he didnt. He even suggested a way of removing the boulder from the car so as not to scratch the bumper. The boulder is in place in our front yard and I love it. The price was very fair and service was superior. Everyone behind the counter was helpful and knowledgable. Many thanks, Chris!

Yelp
Came looking for blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and all sort of fruit trees. It was a hot day so wanted to look at plants and get out asap. The staff near the berry bushes was really helpful. MGC had at least 8 different kinds of blueberries, the staff was really patient to look up info about the blueberries and make suggestions. I ended up buying a Perpetua since it was a variety that flowers and fruits twice a year, if I planted in July could have a chance for a harvest this year. Got too tired to look at the blackberries and raspberries since there were also many varieties, had decision fatigue! I also took a quick look at the cherry trees and persimmon trees, there were so many that look really healthy. I'll come back again on a cooler day so I can make better decisions.

Yelp
I visited this store last fall to find native plants to consider for my foundation. I went on a day and time when they were not busy. I've been a customer at this store since it opened and have always tried to support Merrifield. In the past this nursery was excellent because of the amount of knowledge their employees have and share. What I experienced was nothing like that. The person who helped me was rude and insulting. Asking about native plants seemed to offend this person and he was rude the entire time. I walked away from this employee and the next employee didn't help but spent a lot of time going on about how much she hates Holly trees. I don't think they know much about native plants and I saw Merrifield is still selling plants that are considered invasive that we all have learned not to plant. I do not understand why the issue of the use of native plants was so upsetting to the employees there. I didn't go in with an attitude about them but hoped to learn from Merrifield how to incorporate them in my yard. I know more now and am committed to using them. Why is this a threat to Merrifield? I know now not to rely upon Merrifield for advice. Merrifield you need education for your staff. Your business is in a unique position in that your staff have the chance to educate your customers who want to do better. You need to do better.

Diane Y.

Yelp
I love it here! The garden center not only has a wide variety of plants but it has everything you would ever need for plant care and plant giving- from neem oil to greeting cards, I could stay here for hours. New to the plant world, I appreciated all of my questions answered by the friendly employees. I've been here a few times. Once, I wanted an easy indoor plant to keep alive and was introduced to the ZZ plant. Another time, I was captivated by the beautiful leaves of the lemon lime mantara plant. Both times, I got my questions answered on how to properly care for my new indoor additions. They even have a little booth where you can take your not-doing-so-well-plants (or show a picture) and they can help diagnose your precious vegetation!

J.A. M.

Yelp
Step into the finest nursery in Fairfax! This store is equipped with finest flowers , trees, plants, and succulents. The selection of pottery is filled with varieties of colorful clays, and beautiful ceramics.

Katharine R.

Yelp
This nursery is beautifully laid out and they have a vast variety of plants and gifts. That said, am I the only person who finds it grossly over-priced? And by over-priced, I mean at least two and sometimes four times the price of similar items in other nurseries and home improvement centers. I therefore am resolved to browse but never buy.

Sophie L.

Yelp
This is a massive nursery that probably has any type of indoor or outdoor plant you can think of. The staff are super friendly and helpful, which is a great plus. Anything you can think of for plant care, they've got it. But the lack of variety in small indoor plant sizes was disappointing for me. I've been to places that have great selections of 4-6"dumb canes, snake plants, calatheas, or fiddle leaves- all popular and perfect to put on a desk. To me, most of the indoor plants at this nursery were unaffordable for beginners because they were either big with high price tags or small and exotic (also high price tag). It was pretty hard to find a small affordable plant that looked interesting. The plants here are all very healthy, so I do wish they had a wider selection of smaller common houseplants!

Yelp
I was surprised to see how packed this place is. No social distancing going on at all. I guess people don't have much to do with their time but focus on their gardens. The staff here is really friendly and knows quite a bit about plants. The inventory never seems to change though. I'd like to see a bit more variety. Parking is a bit of a hassle so get here early to find a spot.

Yelp
Many options for plants and I got a nice rubber plant! I recommend checking it out and you can look around for plants for different pricing! They have good variety and I like that they have multiple locations. They also re-pot your plants which I didn't know about. Parking is not an issue at all. The pots they sell are kind of expensive and I would just come here for the plants

Yelp
Mostly outdoor selections but decent size of indoor plants in the greenhouse paired with home decor items. A bit on the pricier side, but lots of fun choices in a nice range of sizes. And tons of pots- all sizes and all types from fun to modern. When we went there they had - nice selection of Calatheas, Chinese everygreen, philos, pathos, snake plants, ferns, succulents, lots for terrariums, and strings of things. The strings of pearls were the cheapest I've seen at 3.99 for a small container. Worth a visit.

Yelp
Love this garden center! Been twice now and their array of plants is impressive. Absolutely love the greenhouse & i really appreciate how their stock is always changing. Not only do they have plants, pots, bulbs, etc- they have an indoor store with gardening miscellaneous items as well as decor/candles/and more. Customer service is great also. I drive all the way up from Woodbridge just to get great house plants from the greenhouse!

Yelp
The largest selection I have ever, ever seen. What a magical place. My only complaint is that they were sold out of LECA. Not their fault that everyone is trying to go semi hydro.

Yelp
Although I've bought plants from here during the growing season, and they have a huuuuge selection to chose from, my review is focused on Merrifield's unmatched Christmas offerings. Right before the Christmas season the staff of the expansive nursery set up a huge Christmas market under heated tents. The market is a delight, with a piano player setting a festive tone for customers to mill around exquisitely lighted and decorated trees with all kinds of baubles and unique decorative items for sale. Where else can you buy your baubles, garlands, candles, and decorations while sipping punch, noshing on sugar cookies, listening to live music, and smelling the fresh scent of fresh cut pine? For all ye who go shopping at Michael's for Christmas trimmings, you are missing out on the finest aspects of life. Here is the business you want to patronize for your festive decoration needs. Outside the tent, the staff are making up decorative boughs of fresh firs, cedars, pines, and boxwood for your door and window boxes. I received excellent assistance in making an advent wreath from a staff member who pointed me in the direction of wreath frame, appropriate candles, potential ideas for decoration, and advice on how best to layer materials. This lady went out of her way to be helpful and supportive. She also found me hardware from their metal framing and trellis section, a Shepherd's Hook from which to hang a heavy lantern. With their vast selection of items, their focus on customer experience, I would gladly drive an extra mile to shop at this wonderful nursery. You are guaranteed to have a good time here. You are also guaranteed to enjoy your decorations more because you found them at a real people-powered market, rather than a national chain store which sells cheap Chinese junk under artificial lighting.

Yelp
Lots variety of plants to choose from. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the plants. Need to go early, the parking lot is always packed
