Great vibes, high ceilings, colorful wall Mural, and a massive bar. James, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. After being served nachos, tacos, and a mocktail, our server kept checking on our table to be sure we were satisfied with our meal selection. The nachos and tacos were good and plentiful. The shredded chicken on the nachos was flavorful as well as the tacos. They have a nice outside patio where many people sat enjoying their food. The only thing that would discourage me from returning is the parking. If you can find a parking spot, $2.00 for 4 hours is enough time to explore Royal Oak. Overall, I had a great experience!!

I tried this place back in 2019 and it wasn’t very memorable. I tried it again yesterday and was amazed at the upgrade. The food, service, and vibe of the place were incredible. We were seated right away but we waited over 10 mins for a server and ended up having to flag someone down for assistance. They apologized and we got top tier service after that - our server Dooley was nice and definitely went the extra mile to ensure we were satisfied. I loved the food and drinks - everything came out perfect. I will definitely be back soon!

I'll start by saying the drinks were amazing! Best frozen mango margarita I've ever had!!! The presentation of the food was appetizing. It was a bit under seasoned and lacked a little flavor. But if you're drinking, you really won't notice. Service was pretty poor. The server set a drink at the edge of the table, which was knocked over within seconds. Three people walked past without offering assistance to clean up the mess. We had to flag someone down. We even had to request utensils in order to begin eating when our food arrived. We ate the appetizer with our fingers. Despite those inconveniences, the overall experience was worth a return visit. ..... Because of the drinks!

Laurel at Mesa was fantastic! The food was excellent, and Laurel was super friendly and welcoming. Even though the restaurant was busy, she kept things moving quickly and made sure we were well taken care of. Really appreciated her effort and great attitude — we’ll definitely be back!

Five-Star Review for MESA Tacos + Tequila – Royal Oak, MI My daughters and I celebrated a post-pottery Mother’s Day outing at MESA Tacos + Tequila, and it was the perfect spot to wrap up a creative afternoon with food, fun, and flavor! We kicked things off with a couple of their margaritas, and let’s just say—intoxicating in the best way. Bold, smooth, and just the right balance of sweet and strong. They definitely know their tequila game! When it came to food, we explored a bit of everything. I went for the street tacos, mixing it up with chicken, steak, and shrimp—and every bite hit just right. One of my daughters got the taco flight, and not only was it delicious, but the presentation was gorgeous. Another daughter went with her own take on the street tacos and thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. There was one dish—we couldn’t quite remember the name, but it gave us a ramen-like vibe. It was okay, not memorable, but it didn’t take away from the overall great experience. What really took our visit over the top was our server, Matt (short for Matthew). He was the definition of outstanding service: attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and just all-around pleasant. You could tell he really cared that we were having a great time—and we did. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would—but thanks to Matt and the vibe, I’m rounding it up to a solid five stars. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Food was average at best. Lacks flavor and authenticity. The milk shake was not frozen. Good presentation. Our server was great. The atmosphere was good. Could use some updates. Also, for a place with Tequilla in the name, their house tequila should not be Mr. Boston. We had a good time but wouldn't make it a point to go back.

Google
I went for lunch and sat outside. The food was good. The drink was somewhat good. The outside area was simple. Downside service sucked. Never checked while I was eating if I needed anything else. At the end, I waited around 8 more minutes for the bill because I was forgotten about. She did apologize but then brought a bad bill. So, I basically had to wait 10 minutes just to get a correct bill

Google
We had an amazing experience at Mesa, and I have to give a special shoutout to our waitress, Domo. She was absolutely phenomenal… truly the kind of person who makes a meal memorable. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, friendly, and completely on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed. Her energy was infectious and her upbeat attitude set the perfect tone for the evening. You could tell she genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time, and she nailed it. The food, of course, was fantastic, but Domo’s service really elevated the whole experience. If you’re headed to Mesa, fingers crossed you get Domo… you won’t be disappointed!

Yelp
What a cool vibe! The decor and layout of this place was so fun. The use of the Pictures, vibrant colors, slushie machines, margarita makers, and a large bar all contribute to the decor day of the dead. I will definitely be back for some type of celebration because they have this ice cream float that I just could not wrap my head around on this trip but plan on a different day. I ordered a flight of everything. A flight of three different tacos, a flight of Margaritas, a flight of slushies, and a flight of guacamole with chips. It was nice to taste so many different options they offered. The presentation of food and drink was so fun. They put edible flowers in my drinks and everything. My goodness the food was so good. Everything made in house and you can tell. Our waitress Bailey was knowledgeable, fun, and fast. She got us extra napkins and refilled our chips. Very knowledgeable of the products on the menu and there were so many. For drink, food for the table and top we came out around $165.00 for the three of us.

Yelp
Great place for tacos and cocktails in the Royal oak area. The service was a little slow.. but our sever was top notch. I recommend building your own taco platter so you and mix and match.

Yelp
Always had great service from Justin until I found out from an inspector that he did not install my hot water heater up to code. When contacted, he said he would come out and fix it, and I have not heard back from him. I'm extremely disappointed as I thought he would do the right thing and make it up to code as he said he would. I reached out to him many times and got no response.

Yelp
I recently placed a $62 carry-out order (on 2/8/25), and unfortunately, two of the sauces I paid for were missing. When I first unpacked my order, I noticed that the Queso was missing, so I called the restaurant. The person who answered the phone instructed me to come back to get the missing sauce, but there was no apology for the oversight. I explained that I live over 20 minutes away and there's a winter storm, and parking there is a beast, but he insisted I return to get it. He mentioned he would speak to the manager, and when I asked about a solution, he said I could bring the receipt to get a refund, again with no apology. I was shocked by how this was handled. I spent $62 on two take-out meals, and the service felt like it was treated as if I had placed an order from a fast food restaurant like McDonald's. The sauces were important to our meals, and without them, they just didn't taste the same. To make matters worse, I later realized that a salsa was also missing. I'm extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled.

Yelp
This food was so good. The fajitas, shrimp and chicken with shrimp was very spicy the pineapple balances it out, however it was still a good amount of heat to it. The Tacos were so tender and juicy. The corn was okay, I think I will have it on the cob next time. The drinks were amazing the cranberry margarita tastes like a regular cranberry vodka. The Brandon fruit margarita was amazing. We will definitely be coming back. Our server was nice and did great. The music was good and I liked the decor. Their desert menu looked great I will have to try that out next time.

Yelp
Pretty good Mexican food but quality and style of the food is declining over the past couple years. This used to be the go-to spot for us for tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. Over the last year or so things are changing. Tacos are getting bland or the original recipes are no longer available, service is really slow and the sides are a bit boring (beans, rice, chips). I wish the original recipes would return!

Yelp
Came here for the first time tonight. The service was slow. We had to go to the bar just to get water that the server forgot. Waited 5 min at the bar to get the water. The margarita flights our friends got were disgusting. The food came out cold. We were charged $5.25 for a soda and $4.00 for a coffee. For the overpriced food and drinks, slow service, and less than mediocre food, we will not be back. Spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
My kids and I love this place! SO WHY 3 STARS? Well the food is consistent, its the service that is lacking. slow, never comes back to the table, we dont always get everything and have to ask different servers. But the food is great here~!

Yelp
Mehhh. This may be the first time I complain about a restaurant being OVER staffed. Staff and patron counts were about the same - about a dozen each on a slow Saturday afternoon. The result was that staff huddled in chat groups and tended to neglect their customers. No 'welcome' chips nor salsa on the table (I guess it is a menu $ item although I missed seeing it) and I had to ask to get a much-needed bottle of hot sauce. Food was okay but nothing remarkable - certainly not equal to the upscale pricing - and the tasteless refried beans and soggy 'spanish' rice of the dinner plate should have been tossed out the previous evening (or before). We will seek out a more engaged place on our next Mexican food foray.

Yelp
My friend and I came here and found two spots at the bar. Sat for 30 minutes and only ever got waters, the bartender never came back to get our drink or food orders in, despite him standing in front of us and us trying to let him know we were ready. Meanwhile, two girls that showed up at the bar a little after us had their drinks AND food before we were even asked for our drink order. We just left and went somewhere else nearby. Classic Royal Oak.

Yelp
Mesa Tacos has really clever cocktails and an expansive menu to boot. Our group of four sat in the enclosed patio, so we had views out onto the street which was fun. Our server was great, and the food was tasty. In short, Mesa Tacos and tequila is a fine choice for a weekend lunch.

Ali A.

Yelp
Not impressed. 13 bucks for a small cup of guac drowning in lime juice. The tacos, oh man. Wife couldn't finish hers. I was hungry so I braved through. In short, dry bland, and reheated.

Yelp
The restaurant was so cute. There were star lights, vintage bike decor, murals and art. I ordered the dynamite shrimp tacos and the grilled pineapple cocktail. The tacos were good but pretty batter-y with small mini shrimps fried topped with pickled onion and sesame seeds. The sauce wasn't really there overall 6.7/10. It also came with refried beans and rice which was good. The servers were extremely welcoming and accommodating absolutely loved the service. Would not order the same tacos again next time.

Yelp
Waited over an hour for expensive small portion food. Not worth the wait. I was looking forward to trying this place but it was so mediocre. Disappointed. Atmosphere was loud, messy, disorganized and crowded. Not a good experience. The server brought us chips with no dip for a 20-30 minute wait. She didn't offer my friend a to go box, she had well over half her food left. She was always gone so long before coming to check on our table. I was so ready to go. Learned our lesson, Saturday night downtown for trendy Mexican is not for us. My husband got a burrito smaller than chipotle for $20 and they couldn't even bother with rice and beans on the side. Bland flavor other than the salsa (which was actually really good.)

Yelp
Always a good time when I go here! I finally tried one of their freak shakes and it was delicious! It can definitely be shared with more than 2 people. The staff is funny and very accommodating. The layout of the place is open and colorful. The party room was decorated in a very cute and festive way for the holidays.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here. The Ambiance is very cool as we sat at a high top table in the center of the restaurant. I had the lobster taco and the tortilla soup. And the pineapple margarita. Everything was wonderful. We also had pretty good service for such a large group.

Yelp
Searching for a new spot to check out on taco Tuesday we settled on this place in the middle of Royal Oak after a long day. We ordered the taco special and split a massive burrito, oh and we also enjoyed the drink specials as we had a few margaritas. The service was nice and the place was decorated really cool.

Yelp
Seen on instagram thought we would check out. Been there done that won't be back. Disappointed for a Mexican restaurant no salads and chips provided for visit it would cost $3.00 for that option. Says authentic but I would disagree. Steak fajitas were $27 but cannot get cooked to order. For that cost they should be fresh and able to get medium rare. So I didn't order a meal. Wife got chicken fajitas again for a $20 meal disappointed that you cannot get without peppers as it is pre mixed!!! Asked for an extra side of cheese expected to be charged but I was charged twice for extra cheese??? No tomatoes as a side for fajitas - odd Don't get sour cream or guacamole either???? Again not to authentic to me. Flavor of fajitas I enjoyed but it ended there. And then $4.25 for a Soda and offered a refill! Rip off!

Yelp
Food was Muy delicioso, drinks were outstanding and top shelf. The wait was too long, but it was a Friday pm!

Yelp
Went here for lunch with a friend on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty so we got to pick our seat. The restaurant is super cute with the ambiance and decorations. The downtown location is pretty. The server was friendly and appropriately attentive. We got two margarita flights ($26 each) and both of us enjoyed two out of the four flavors. We got chips and queso for $12. I enjoyed the chips and queso. I got the birria tacos with rice and beans. I found them rather flavorless and disappointing. Three tacos, rice and beans were $19. My friend got the steak fajitas and liked them. I wanted to order one of their famous dessert shakes but this place is so dang expensive, I just could not do it. A whole milkshake was $26 and a mini was $16. Like, what?! Yes, they are elaborate shakes but 26?? Yikes. The prices at this place are outrageous. I'm assuming they charge so much because of the downtown location, but it's enough to deter me from going back. Especially since the Mexican food is not authentic and not that impressive. For two margarita flights, chips and queso, and two entrees we were at $115 before tip. All in all, I don't have any intentions of returning but not opposed if someone else wanted to go; would probably just order a drink and an appetizer. Won't be the place I go to for authentic, flavorful Mexican food.

Yelp
The tacos here are amazing! They have such a diverse selection and variety from traditional tacos to fusion style tacos. Also, their guac and chips are a great starter to your meal. Delicious and creative drinks as well!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a wonderful time at the restaurant for a friend's birthday recently. The food was delicious yet spicy. The drinks were also amazing; they were strong.
google avatar

Yelp
Never go to a place that can't even spell their own menu items correctly. "Macaroon" listed on the shake was actually a macaron. Big difference. One is coconut, one is not.
google avatar

Jack T.

Yelp
Nice little Mexican spot in downtown Royal oak. Indoor and patio seating. The patio is the nicer area to sit. Quality Mexican food and a fun margarita flight. A little pricey but good for food and drinks with friends.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
We stopped in specifically for the Freakshake, which we had highly anticipated. Overall, it was good, but high priced for what you received. The Churro Freakshake was made promptly and topped with various desserts and came in a skull mug, which added to the overall appeal. While it was fun, I unfortunately did not think the price was worth what we got. The interior of Mesa is so fun and seemed like a great place to visit for tacos and margaritas with friends!

Angel W.

Yelp
So me and my bf are both servers and parents so were very understanding but Our server Lily was AMAZING! I saw her getting busy and she still kept checking on us. We drove 45 mins away just to come and we thank you all for giving us a good time! Thanks lily and crew!

Yelp
Maaan, I don't know a better way to say this: I don't know how Mesa is still in business. Maybe because, like us, you want to sit outside and enjoy Mexican food and the location is prime. But fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. This was my second try and I'm the fool, but I'll officially never be back. Food is insanely overpriced. $6-8 for a single taco. You can go next door or almost anywhere else and spend half that for a better taco. The tacos were only okay, and the beans and rice weren't good, either. The rice was dry, overly seasoned, and seemed like it had been sitting for an extended period of time. We tried the Nashville hot chicken taco which had a single slice of pickle and next to zero chicken - all breading (see photo). Don't order it. The spicy shrimp taco and the carnitas taco were both okay but not good enough. Additionally, VERY long wait. For everything. No TP in a bathroom stall. Asked for more salsa and the server didn't bring it. When all we wanted to do was leave, we didn't see our server for ten minutes. I know places are understaffed but that didn't seem to be the issue here... It was just rough. I can't recommend it.
google avatar

Ash P.

Yelp
This place has a cute ambiance. But not good food to me. My son ordered quesadillas that were dry and pre cooked then not good. The salsa taste old . Not my preference at all. You can tell the food is just preheated and that's is gross to me . The table was not clean and the waiters all sat around talking to each other instead of giving good service. I would Never go back here to eat. But maybe have a cocktail or two with a friend.
google avatar

Ritika J.

Yelp
New chef is killing it! We got the the guac flight and shrimp fajitas. I would say the guac flight is nothing amazing but really loved how flavorful and fresh the shrimp fajitas were. Employees were hospitable despite staffing short. Tuesday 6:30 pm seating came with a 1 hr wait time (due to staffing shortages) but we were lucky to get bar seats! Excited to try their vegan menu next. Didn't care for this restaurant before but now with the changes, I will def be back.
google avatar

Janae T.

Yelp
We went for Cinco de Mayo and all we got was a margarita flight and 2 guacamole flights. The mango guacamole was really good. The guac needed some sort of salt overall to bring out the taste. The drinks were really really strong and good. Our waitress seemed to have forgot about us a lot but benefit of the doubt it was Cinco de Mayo. There is indoor and outdoor seating available we sat inside but close enough to still see outside. The food is very overpriced in my opinion $7 for 1 taco is insane to me

Yelp
What a fun night! We started off at Pinky's for a couple of drinks then walked over to Meso. We had plans for someone else, but with COVID... Well they don't serve food on a Tuesdays and Weds. No problem. I LOVE Mexican. Let's be honest. I could probably eat a bowl of cheese and sour cream and be happy haha. This was a girl's night and we had a party of 10. My mom is the oldest if 8 and my younger aunt's are only a couple years older than me. They are also crazy fun! I had a margarita flight. They ordered pitchers of margaritas at the other end. Everything was great except one dish. My aunt got her chicken fajitas but... No chicken. It took TWENTY minutes for the chicken to come out. But then everyone else was done eating. The waitress was very apologetic, but they should have taken her meal off the bill. That's a pretty big mistake. Overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was great and we had a blast. Can't wait to do it again?

Yelp
Ignore the haters. Best Mexican in RO. The two burritos I had were outstanding, especially the shrimp and pineapple. Food served fast and hot. Nice colorful, artistic & fun interior in the heart of downtown . Server was unusually friendly.

Talha K.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday night... service was alright, the food came out within 5-8 mins of ordering and the tortillas were stale and hard in random places definitely did not sit in my stomach good. The drinks came out 10-15mins after the food came out which was a first.. drinks were good, ambiance was good.

Yelp
The food was great and the server MaryJane was friendly helpful and quick hope she gets a raise

Yelp
Food was great, atmosphere was warming, great patio. Three different kinds of elote. The chorizo was good but spicy!

Yelp
We have wanted to try this place for awhile, it was on our Royal Oak places to try. We had a 5:30 reservation on a Friday night which wasn't needed as the place was deserted, this should have been our first sign. To be honest the service was okay to good at the start. The waiter was very informative letting us know recommendations for drinks and entrees. We ordered the blackberry cilantro margs which were tasty but very weak and small compared to what is typically served at a mexican restaurant. The food: enchiladas queso w/ chicken, Medea chicken burrito, sizzling steak fajitas, and some street tacos. First off the rice and beans that came with it was a measly small ice cream shaped size of over over cooked rice and dried over cooked beans. Enchiladas was covered in so much queso it made it hard to impossible to taste the enchiladas underneath. That said they were the smallest enchiladas that I have ever been served with very little chicken on the inside. The burrito was large but was all rice and very little chicken. The Pico that was to accompany the burrito was a size of a baby spoons garnish on top. The steak of the fajitas meal was extreme dry and not appetizing. The street tacos were not memorable in any aspect. Things that brought the service down: no utensils where available to us when the food was delivered. Only three meals were delivered to the table where the fourth person was left waiting not only for utensils but their food. Had to ask for initial refills of water, even though that is all two of the four was drinking. Would not give the table two two check checks, one for each couple but would accept multiple payment methods making us do the math to split the checks. There are much better places for Mexican and much better places for a dining experience in Royal Oak. This was a disappoint across the board.

Yelp
We came to mesa on a Saturday night around 7 pm and it was very busy. There were just 2 of us so we were able to sit at the bar after about 15 minutes of waiting but there was a chilly draft from the door. We probably wouldn't have been able to get a table for about an hour. The restaurant is very trendy. The seasoning on the fajitas was good but I didn't like the flavor of the rice (it was a little spicy). It comes with 4 or 5 tortillas, beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, mixed peppers/onions and chicken. It was very filling. We also ordered one of their new freak shakes-the flavor I ordered was their valentines special. The milkshake itself was more like strawberry milk, it wasn't frozen. The rim was covered in chocolate, frosting and sprinkles. It was decked with brownies, strawberry ice cream, strawberry macaroons, a red velvet cake pop, gummies, strawberry cheesecake, frozen strawberries and whipped cream. The brownies were my favorite part- they were a little Cakey and soft. It should definitely be split between at least 2 people. It does take about 20 mins to make so order it early if possible! They also have margarita flights that I would love to try on a return trip!

Yelp
FIRST IMPRESSIONS and ATMOSPHERE: When we walked in, the host warmly greeted us. We asked the host if there was happy hour. She was not sure and asked the closest server who came to the front stand to inform us they did not. Then, host proceeded to take us to a high top table. She was able to honor our request to move to an open booth along the wall where all the other booths were occupied. *IMO: Hosts should know EVERYTHING, including knowing if there is happy hour; and offering booth seating over tables since most guests were seated at that time at .... A BOOTH! Isn't that interesting? Aesthetics were done well with decor indicative of the Mexican culture: long-handled bicycles, photos of luchadors, bright colors, indoor-outdoor seating open floor plan, vaulted ceilings; latino music was NOT too loud (thank you!). Restrooms were warm, clean, stocked. EATS and DRINKS: We chose to go with the brisket enchiladas (flavorful, tender, cheesy, but refried beans were a little too dry), and the cobb salad (came with roasted corn, black beans, cotija cheese, not enough guacamole, not enough pico de gallo, and avocado cream dressing; seemed too small for the price of an entree salad). Best chips we have had at a Mexican restaurant; it seemed a higher quality tortilla, came warm, and with good homemade salsa (mild). We inhaled the first and needed a second basket. First 2 beers listed on the draft list were recommended; refreshing, delish with the meals, and worth coming back for. We may just come back for the ridiculous shakes, for dessert, we saw ordered by an adjacent table. You had to say 'WOW'. Looked amazing but we were stuffed. SERVER and MANAGER: Helpful. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Runner delivered food QUICKLY. Manager (with red, long hair; tatooed) expitidiously took care of the VIP card issue with great care and attention. So... Nick Ritts, make sure that awesome manager gets some major appreciation and kudos. This is why I am especially writing this review. Take care of your team, so they take care of the guests. So, for that reason, we will come back.

Aleksa N.

Yelp
Waiting for the table to be clean 10 min... Then she came and sprayed on us with a cleaning product Didn't say sorry at all just you have to watch out Totally disrespectful We came as a customer She ruin our date This is scandalous Worst experience ever Worst customer service Worst place

Yelp
September 3, 2023 my daughter and I visited Mesa tacos and tequila. I enjoyed the experience. We had guacamole, beef tacos, chicken fajitas, chicken flautas and the marg flight for the drinks. The food was good. Family friendly with good service.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to get something light for lunch, so we stopped here. We had no idea how right we were. The tastes are there, but I'm amazed at how stingy they are with the meat on the tacos. My wife's shrimp tacos look like they cut up one shrimp for each taco and spread it around. My brisket tacos were somewhat better, with maybe 1 ounce of beef per taco. They did give us a reasonable amount of rice and beans, but I want to be able to taste the meat in my tacos when I have them. My wife saw her tacos, and immediately ordered a side of shredded chicken to try to fill it out. This cost an extra four dollars, but was worth the price. But, like I said, the food tasted good. The guacamole was perfectly made, and not overly spicy like some places. The highlight of the meal was probably Portabella Esquites, a blend of Mexican street corn, beans, cheese, and Portabella mushrooms. It's a very nice diversion from the usual things you get at Mexican restaurants. And, we complementary chips and salsa are amazing. The chips are perfectly crunchy, and the salsa has nice flavor, even if there's not much spice to it. It wasn't terribly expensive, but I would've paid a bit more to get more meat on our tacos.

Storm C.

Yelp
Love it here! Our bartender was so kind and told us his honest truth about the drinks and I'm so happy we did. Never felt neglected and never had to wait long for him to come check in again. It was refreshing as all night as we bar hopped we had terrible service. He was amazing and the margs were soooo good!!!

Yelp
I am going to dream about the brisket taco. It's that good! Great menu! Cool interior. Great music & the service (Dylan) was perfection!

Yelp
We had a guacamole appetizer which was good & the tortilla chips were nice and warm. I ordered a Churro Freakshake. I asked our waiter what the difference was between the $25 Freakshake and the $15 Mini Freakshake. He said the only difference was the Mini Freakshake had 2 less desserts on top. Since the freakshakes in their pics showed 4 desserts on top I figured it would still be plenty. They brought me out a shake.... With no toppings and no desserts on top. There was nothing freaky about it. I was so let down. In ALL the pictures on the Mesa menu and on their Instagram/Facebook page they show that the Freak shake comes out on a plate covered with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and candy. Also in all of the pictures there is frosting and candy covering the rim of the glass and candy eyeballs. I got NONE of that. It was just a milkshake in a glass. Who in their right mind pays $15 for a plain milkshake?!? We didn't complain but the whole reason I wanted to go there is to post pics of their Freakshake on social media so it was a major let down. But back to the food.. I had the Lobster Baja tacos for an entree and they were pretty good, a little spicy but not too bad. I enjoyed the crunch! My husband got the brisket tacos and those were decent too. I was very disappointed with the beans though. The beans were a hard lump and very dry to the point where they were inedible. You could tell they were just scooped out of a large vat that had been sitting around. The rice was also bland and inedible. The grilled pineapple margarita was pretty good, not a super strong pineapple flavor though. I was very disappointed in the blood orange margarita which I tried next... and it just tasted like Tang (powdered drink flavor orange) and nothing special. I would never come back here and I don't recommend going. The vibe is really cool and it's in a central location. That's likely the only reason they're still in business

Yelp
Went here yesterday for lunch. While the staff was really polite. They moved slow. No urgency. No recommendations either. My spouse wasn't happy about the wings no longer being available as an appetizer. My chicken tortilla soup was really great. The chicken fajitas were good as well but I couldn't sit there long because there was flies and gnats inside of the restaurant. I literally kept fanning it away from my food. The guacamole taste bland. I Drinks were nice and strong. Really had to add the waitress two times for salad dressing and remind the host that we were still waiting. Who sends a salas out w/ no dressing? It was a regular Wednesday afternoon, not busy at all. Pretty dead actually at 5pm ish.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican food that you can imagine. The flavors are original and the chef brings an originality to traditional recipes that will expand your imagination of what this style of food can be. Everything is made from scratch with attention to the ingredients and daily preparation. Prepare to blown away if you love food. And tequila.

Yelp
I was so dissatisfied and underwhelmed with my experience here and it was Cinco de Mayo. In all fairness, my two tacos were delicious, but that's it. The salsa tasted like V8 and this was co-signed by two other couples seated at the bar. We sent the queso back because it was bland and extremely watery. The Mesa burrito with chicken was bland and has no sauce per my friend who orders it. He offered me a bite and I declined, which I never do because I'm a foodie! It looked boring. I'm have no desire to return ever. My overall assessment is that the restaurant was overwhelmed for the holiday and no TLC was given to the culinary experience.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try this spot ! I finally got the dance on cinco de Mayo. It was last minute so we didn't reservations. The wait was an hour and a half and it was well worth it ! I tried 4 different tacos .. lobster , brisket , carne asada and polo rojo. All were really good. To drink I had the grilled pineapple margarita. Service was amazing. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants outside of anything in Mexican town ! If you don't want to take the drive out to southwest for good Mexican ... this spot is definitely worth a try !
