"A block down from Meseret on Hiawatha Avenue, Mesob Ethiopian may be a little hard to find, but destination dishes like the vegetarian sampler and lamb awaze make for excellent eats: Munaye Tesfaye and Ade Terefe have been feeding the Longfellow and Standish neighborhoods since 2018. Mesob is an especially good place to bring a large group, as the dishes are offered in both small and large portions — or go for the family platters, which can serve three or four diners." - Ali Elabbady

Lovely place for a slow paced meal. Typically staffed by two (one cooking and the other serving), service can be slow, but the food is excellent. The meat combo platter and super veggie platter are each enough for three to share. It looks a bit forlorn on the outside but is very comfortable inside, and the smells are wonderful. We enjoy the coffee service after dinner, with a large pot enough for 4 priced at $12, and it includes incense burned at the table. Very nice. The tea is great, too.

Love everything, the food is so good, not crazy about the cabbage, taste like fired onions , not much cabbage. Yet I love my beef kot wat, bean, green and stuff the injera bread is always perfect. Can't stop eatting there. Clean freash cooking. Thank God they didn't change the food to be more American. Best food, I've found here so far. Keep up the great food ladies n please don't change a thing. Love, Love the food 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I stopped in looking to ask for a recommendation on a meal and it was incredible. The Awaze Beef Tips were perfectly spiced and served with fantastic Injera. The Sambusas were good and the green sauce was (to my pleasure) very spicy. Our cat also took a keen interest in them.

Super cozy place right on Hiawatha. The Super Veggie platter was amazing with so many delicious options to go with the excellent injera. The Ethiopian Tea was wonderful and comforting. The service was exceptional!

Food is so good and such a great deal. The staff are friendly and the dining room is really nice. We are repeat customers and can’t wait to go back

This place is damn good. We were blown away by different dishes that we ordered one after the other. Tried Chicken tibs, Doro wot, the four vegan lentils and a lamb dish. All of them were fantastic. The waitress lady went above and beyond to help us decide what to order. Would highly recommend for fabulous Ethiopian food!

Excellent food. Very good service. I recommend the ginger tea. The injeera is delicious and fresh. Yellow peas were buttery tasting and everything was spiced well. Very good and will be back.
