Mesón Sabor Andaluz

One of the best Michelin star experiences. Meson Sabor Andaluz was a true surprise. The restaurant is located in a tiny town of Alcala del Valle. It is not the town that you would pick as a tourist destination. We went there just because of the Meson Sabor Andaluz restaurant. The restaurant only has 6 tables and was fully booked during Sunday lunch. So prebookig is highly recommended. Once you enter via the main entrance there is a waiting lounge where an aperitif could be served. It has a modern rustic interior with some tree stump tables and rusted metal bars on the walls etc. The main hall as mentioned only has 6 round tables. It has an opening to the kitchen which is framed by some wooden shelves so you can observe what's happening in the kitchen as you would watch TV. The interior design is minimalistic. Tha acoustics are really good and overall it makes you feel very cosy. You can choose between two tasting menus. 9+2 courses and 12+3 courses. We went for the shorter one as experience has taught us the long ones are a bit too much to handle - not so much from quantity but from different flavors and emotions point of view. In Meson Sabor Andaluz the stars of the menu are vegetables and the meat/fish has more of a secondary role. We were a bit hesitant at first about this concept but it actually worked really well. Various foams, reductions and other ways the chef used to bring out the flavours did not disappoint. The wine list is extensive and has plenty of both local and international options. We went for a bottle of local rose and this was a good option to accompany the whole menu. The service was very professional and overall both the kitchen and the service team worked flawlessly. 10 out of 10 points!

My first Michelin star restaurant. The staff is very nice and friendly. We had a table reservation for 5 people, the waiter bring us to our table and made sure we were comfortable. We also got a separate small table for our bags. Remarkable. We asked for a local red wine and the waiter recommended one which turned out to be a great choice afterwards, it hit us with a pleasant velvety taste. Then we chose the 12-course menu which also included 3 desserts. This menu is based on vegetables and fish and I must say that they treat them very well. Each dish represents a different style and taste. The waiter constantly made sure that everything was in order on the table. He constantly took care of the wine and the cutlery. We were completely satisfied. At the end, the desserts were really surprising and delicious, not too sweet, not too dry. Complete harmony and tranquility. We spent about 2 hours here. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it to everyone who can.

A Magnificent Dining Experience An extraordinary culinary journey. The elaborate sauces, consommés, and emulsions that accompany each dish are bursting with intense flavour, perfectly complementing the star ingredient and elevating every bite. The harmony of flavours is masterfully achieved, enhanced further by the unmistakable essence of their wood-fired oven. Service is both impeccable and warmly welcoming — the team does an outstanding job from start to finish.

We were lucky to get a last minute reservation so the whole experience felt like a bonus from the start. We loved their focus on seasonal vegetables and greens from locals and lots of unexpected combinations and use of common ingredients. Also the familiar feel, the closeness to the open kitchen. Our particular favorites were the Remolacha con pimienta rosa & leche de cabra fermentata. Perfect closing with specialty coffee infusion.

What a wonderful experience. We had the smaller of the testing menus but added in the extra dishes. Do not worry about being hungry - the portions are small, as you'd expect from a tasting menu, but there is more than enough. The food is exquisite- and frankly unbelievable value. All of the food is local, seasonal, preparedin front of you and then explained to you. It is all traditional local cuisine. This restaurant lacks the pretentiousness that so many tasting menus carry with them. It is a little treasure. Not to be missed if you're anywhere nearby.

Had an absolutely amazing meal here. We ordered the tasting menu and it was fantastic, one of the best value tasting menus we’ve had. The menu is very vegetable forward and seasonal - there is some meat / fish but it’s primarily meant to highlight the region’s bounty. The wines that our waiter suggested paired very nicely and were also locally produced. Fantastic stop for lunch during a tour of the Pueblos Blancos! We booked ahead via Facebook Messenger.
