First of all, the atmosphere and service as soon as you enter is welcoming. The woman that took my order made me feel right at home and offered a glass of water while I waited for the to go order. I ordered the crispy infused portobello sandwich with homemade chips. Absolutely delicious! All the ingredients were delivered in a locally owned small business that clearly exceeds expectations! Only complaint is that I haven’t stopped in before today.

So I’ve been wanting to try this spot for a minute and finally did! The decor is unassuming, but very nice and clean. The service was good. I got the Bang Pow! shrimp sandwich and it was sooo good. I will absolutely eat here again and will definitely spread the word. I had it with the chips, which are great. I’ll try the fries next time..I’ve heard they’re great. Thanks for a new solid spot in Fayetteville!

Pretty good, exactly what it claims to be, sandwich shop. Basic but good quality. Military vibes from the pictures on the wall as one would expect from the name of the place. Service was good, food came fast, chips were piping hot fresh out of the fryer. No complaints!

I have been a couple of times now and really like the atmosphere and the food. It is primarily a sandwich shop. It is always extremely clean and the food is good. The service is great and the prices aren’t bad. I’m still getting used to post-COVID inflation adjusted prices, so I’m sure that most folks would say the prices are fair for the quality and quantity of the food (combined with the earlier mentioned great service and atmosphere). Certainly worth a visit if you are craving a sandwich.

This restaurant has phenomenal burgers, sandwiches & appetizers. We absolutely love the military theme of this restaurant as well as the best servers/cooks. We appreciate the love that the staff have for us service men & women (I am a veteran, myself) and the perfect quality of the food is proof! They were also kind enough to go the extra mile and hang up a picture in the restaurant of our dear friend and his son back when they were in the U.S. Navy. I highly recommend you try this place out for some high quality food served by the most genuine people in NWA.

The food was great, the prices were reasonable,we came very close to the time they were getting ready to close after their lunch hrs, but they they were very kind. I loved all the pictures on the walls

Delicious Sandwiches. My only knock is It always takes a long time to make the sandwiches regardless if they are busy. Same owners as Green Submarine. Decent Prices. Nice Portions. Friendly Staff. Relaxing Atmosphere. Good Soda options and Free Water. Overall a great place to grab a bite and hang with family.

Very friendly staff. I liked the style/decor. We ordered Pork carnitas with homemade Salsa Verde and the Ruben w/ french fries and both were very good. We will be back! I am so happy to have someplace good to eat on this side of town.

Love the veteran vibe here and it's legit! I will travel out of our way to go. Super clean!! French dip was amazing!! Can't wait to try more and support this business.

Food is fabulous, never disappointed! Service is great, a reasonable wait for your food, surroundings are basic but comfortable. NO TVs!! A plus in my book. I try to go often, when I want a really good sandwich.

I live close by and go once a week. Have not had a bad thing there. Daughter says they have the best burgers in town.

Got 2 delicious sandwiches here on a Saturday afternoon. When you walk in, on the right hand side, you will find 2 registers and menus. Order at the register, grab a number, grab your drink, pick a spot, then wait for your order to arrive. There are large picnic tables for seating and you may find yourself sharing a table with new friends. Food came out quick and was delivered with a smile. The ingredients on our sandwiches were fresh and tasty. Service was very friendly. It can get a little hectic when there are several people coming in and out. I hope they'll add some seasonal items to their menu, or rotate some of the options. Overall, a good meal with great service.

The food here is fantastic. Good portions for reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and the tea was clean and timely. Overall blue collar ambiance with friendly people. Great spot for lunch.

Mess Hall 45 is awesome! Great local place with all made to order sandwiches and such. We called in an order on the way in from XNA and hit the drive thru. Freedom Dip is generous, Chicken Parm never disappoints, Veggie Melt is the best veg sand in town. Well done Mess Hall 45.

Overall best Sammy's in Fayetteville. Ton of choices and all seem great. I've been 6-7 times already and deliberately have tried different sandwiches each time. Big, delicious, great bread and quality food. Seriously, they're all good. Just go and try it, you won't be disappointed

Great sandwiches, friendly staff, and very clean! We stopped for lunch and it took about 20 minutes to receive our food. Great place to stop for a quick lunch!

If you enjoyed Green Submarine back when it was on Wedington in Fayetteville, make your way on over to Mess Hall 45. Best sub shop in NWA and not even particularly close. Cuban is great, the Turkey bacon sandwich is also great. Want to try the burger and the southern cuban next. Will be back soon!

I got the fried shrimp basket. It was very good! Hot and fresh. The fries are really good also. Friendy, quick service!

High quality sandwiches and good chips. Similar to Green Submarine. Takes a minute longer than a Subway or Jimmy John's but is worth the wait.

I really like this place. Ordered the Americano and the pastrami sandwich as well as the fried pickles. Not many people there when I walked in but service was prompt and my meal was ready in about 10 minutes. Will definitely be try them again for lunch.

This place was one of the best lunch places we've been at in a while. Simple, service is quick and on point. The restaurant was clean. We went around noon and even with a busy lunch hour our food was out in less than 5. Vibe was good, energy was positive. All 6 of us left feeling good and full! Highly recommend if your looking for a good lunch spot.

Ok first of all, I have no idea why things like Pickleman's or Jimmy Johns shows up under "sandwiches in Fayetteville" - places where they treat you like you're interrupting their walk-in fridge toke-session and give you a measly little wet sandwich that they gave zero shits about... and somehow they're at the top of the list when THIS PLACE is at the bottom.. And yet, while the chain sandwich places are abusing fayetteville emotionally and culinarily, Mess Hall 45 is incredible shop on the other side of town, where the people seem to genuinely care. Not sure if it was the owner who served us, but I could just tell they really prided themselves on great service. And then there's the poboy shrimp sandwich, for which i'm always looking for the best version in fayetteville, and this place takes the prize. The bread was nice firm sub bread. And the variation I had was fantastic - the Bang Pow Shrimp Poboy. With sprouts, cucumbers, tomato and sriracha mayo, it had both coolness and spicy kick. I think this might be my new go-to sandy in Faytown. Quick note - The veggies on the sandwiches here seem like they were cut and prepared to order. You may think this is my imagination but, you see, I have a thing about lettuce from restaurants. I don't know why chopped iceberg irks me so much but most places its all wilty and gross, like it's been chopped and thrown in the fridge for a week. The sandwiches I got from Mess Hall 45, you could just tell everything was top-notch fresh. Also, as others have noted, the portions you get from this place are incredible. Can't eat the large order of any sub sandwich in one sitting. Just not possible. The only thing that wasn't for me are: 1) their chips are homemade. Not my thing, but if you like that style, you'll probably love it. 2) I like spice but damn those breaded jalapenos were straight nuclear fire. Maybe I just got a very hot batch, as I know jalapenos are hard to predict. I guess the taste was just so good before my mouth set on fire that I was left wishing they were tamed so I could enjoy them more.

Awesome place for lunch!..service was friendly and food was quick to come out..walk in a bit confusing as to what to do but will figure it out by walking to from area and realizing you order from there..only two menus to look at so it was crowded would need to rely on your phone..order the pimento cheese and pickle sandwich..was thick and tasty...also ordered the Reuben..lacked a good sauce for pastrami and kraut..fries were good as were the chips..a definite come back place!

Always great food and Always great service. Best sandwiches and burgers!!! New York strip sandwich is amazing!!! Love the portobello sandwich too. Hubby gets the shrimp po boy. Kids love the burgers with everything. Dill pickles spears included. The buns are fabulous and fries tasty. Never dissatisfied with mess hall!

Good food. It's more of a restarting feel but fast food service. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Burger and chicken finger basket were good and worth the price.

Tried this spot out last night. It's a counter service, open airy space. They're still working on the decor (some photos behind the counter haven't been hung yet). Self-serve on soda/water. No alcohol. The concrete floors will likely lead to a noisy environment when the place is busy (a lady behind me was moving chairs around to accommodate her table. Nothing like the sound of metal chairs scraping on concrete. A "first world" problem, certainly, but it was a little grating after a minute or two). Sandwiches are tasty. The Philly is more of a roast beef melt (sliced roast beef, not actual "Philly" chopped ribeye), but it had good flavor. A half sandwich ($8) was very filling. The turkey bacon ranch sandwich was also very good. A small pet peeve of mine is when a place chooses to offer chips instead of fries, but you can upgrade to fries for an additional dollar (which I forgot to do). Service was quick and friendly. I'll be back.

I accidentally parked behind their drive-through carryout area. They were very rude about it. There's no sign saying no parking in that area At least my car wasn't screwed up when I came back! Other than that, the food is great and the people are nice, mostly......

The M.B.C was the best sandwich I've had in some time. And homemade chips?! What an absolute delight!

Great service. Great food. We had the grilled cheese and tomato soup to die for! Homemade chips were wonderfully seasoned and just right crisp. We also had the fried pickle chips that were very good.

Fantastic lunch place with delicious sandwiches and house made chips. The club and chili lime shrimp were our favorites. The space was clean and service was friendly and attentive. Staff are masking and there's plenty of space to spread out safely. Highly recommend!

They have the BEST french fries in town.... just saying! I'm a vegetarian and I've tried all their vege sandwiches... all great! My favorite is the Balsamic Infused Portabella Mushroom Sandwich...it is fabulous! My husband is not vegetarian and he loves all the sandwiches... his favorites are the French Dip and Hamburger. The decor is clean and simple and the walls are covered with very interesting and awesome photos of service men from years past. It's just a great place to eat and has a very friendly owner and great staff!

i give this place 2 thumbs up! i had the fried jalapenos first. fried in a tempura batter and not overly hot but they have a kick! very good and served with a ranch type sauce next was a aus ju ribeye sandwich with provo i think, served with house made chips, very yummy! next time ill ask about a veterans discount, they give one. ill eat here again for sure. look for it on wheel of lunch.

This place has the BEST sandwiches in Fayetteville. Hands down. TJs, Green Submarine, etc. are all good. But this place is on a level of its own. Always consistent. Good options to choose from. i've been a dozen times and will be back many more!

This place is great! I got the Bang Pow with their house fries and it was amazing. The shrimp were fried perfect, the bread was just right and all the toppings were fresh. I was super impressed and I will be going back...often.

We ate here for the first time recently. Our order was mixed up, but boy did they jump through hoops to fix the problem. I ate my sandwich they brought me, then out of the blue I get the sandwich I ordered to take home with me. The chicken sandwich was moist and delicious. We will definitely go back. The cashier was great, informative and friendly.

Open and ready for business. We had lunch at the new Mess Hall 45 the other day. Opened by the owner of the Green Submarine (3315 W. Wedington Dr,) also in Fayetteville, this is a great eatery. Menu items include some of the most popular sandwiches from the Green Submarine plus burgers, salads, shrimp, and soup. We had a couple burgers that were simply delicious, grilled cheese and tomato basil soup, and a shrimp basket. The grilled cheese is an innovated double stacker with a melty-cheese that reminded me of my youth. Dip it into their tomato soup for the best lunchtime combo. The shrimp basket and fries were real crowd pleasers too. The best part of our visi definitel was the manner in which Tristan tended to our every need, no matter howsmall and theability to chat with Leslie about the menu. Give them a try! You'll go back for more. Glad we live close.

I am slowly working my way through the menu of this charming sandwich place, and so far everything I have tried has been great including the basic burger. We even liked the crazy pickle-themed sandwich. Highly recommend this spot for lunch or take home food.

New sandwich place.. oh ya, I'm there. I got the Americana which is a hot sub and was good. I ordered fries instead of chips but got chips and am only a little ticked because the chips are homemade, I think, and are wonderful. I ordered fried jalapenos but got fried pickles. Would have rather had jalapenos but the pickles were good. Fear not, I shall be back. Found out after I ordered that the custom sandwiches are unique to them and the others have hint of Green Submarine which I feel is the best sub place in NWA. Three stars for now, but upgrading could be in the future.

Food was great. We particularly liked the fried jalapeños and ribeye sandwich. The jalapeños were nice & light, and the ribeye was so tender & juicy. Chips & fries were great, as well. We were impressed by the quality of the food-- everything felt intentional & made with care. I would love to see the large bar area be used to serve alcohol in the future-- the environment is great for draft beers (I don't drink beer, but my partner does). I would also like to see a few more gluten-free menu items. I'm gluten-sensitive, so I'd definitely come here more often if I had more options! Finally, the decor felt unfinished. Would like to see more personality-- maybe military memorabilia on the walls. We were a little distracted by the unfinished feeling while we ate. We look forward to watching this restaurant grow & evolve. It's got a great foundation!

The owners favorite food is sandwiches and you can tell. The variety is perfect, something for everyone, yummy and hardy. In house fresh potato chips that rock. Delicious sides to spice up a meal, I love the fried stuffed jalapenos.the best tomato soup. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

The sandwiches are delicious. This is much needed on this side of town. With little to no options out in Goshen this is worth the drive into town. Service is always spot on and the people there are always nice and friendly.

I try to get food from here as much as possible during this difficult time. Please patronize this restaurant to keep it from closing down!! The food is fresh and fantastic! I have not had a single thing on the menu disappoint. The NATO steak sandwich is a great deal for the size steak you get, and so dang tasty. Fresh cut fries, fresh soft bread, I could go on, but you have to try it for yourself. Please eat here and keep this place in business!!

I have the Americano. The sandwich was huge- Enough for two meals. Really good food. Fries and chips were both on me.

The best sandwich place in NWA. It's a laidback back environment and very clean. Fast friendly service and it's awesome to see that they are pro law enforcement and pro military. They have a really nice picture of Officer Carr of FVPD.

Went that direction for a different restaurant. Which was too busy. Went just down the street instead. So, glad we did. Was a great meal. We all four had something different. They were all great. I have dietary restrictions, but they were great about it. My salad & burger patty was great!

Literally my favorite place to eat in Fayetteville. The Chili Lime Shrimp sandwich and the Ribeye sandwich are ridiculously good. The amount you pay for the quality of what you get makes this the best bargain in town. Same owners of Green Sub across town. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!
