*** in Top 10% of Google Eatery reviewers in the US 🙂 *** Staying in Jax and everyone told us this is the best breakfast in town - they weren't wrong. Great vibe in restaurant and server Clint was very kind and welcoming. I had a ham and feta cheese omlette that was stupid good. The home fries (which we can't get in NC) were crispy and flavorful and perhaps the best I've ever had - and I grew up in NYS where home fries are a thing. The pancakes were light and fluffy and I can only imagine that the French toast are life altering. Anyone that leaves this place less than a 5 doesn't know what the hell they're talking about 🙂

Grandson approved! He enjoyed his chicken fingers and helped himself to my shrimp and grits. I didn’t realize how large of a portion you receive however it was enough to share. We also ordered dessert to go. The waitress were so nice and the manager as well.

Gosh it's been a long time since I've been here. I took them off my list years ago bc the food was not on par with the og in San Marco. An invitation to Sunday brunch brought me back. I'm glad it did! The food was fantastic. The staff were accommodating to the fact that the tables they pushed together for our group of 7 was not big enough for all the food we ordered. (Foodies gotta try it all). They moved the 3 kids to an empty booth nearby. The server assigned to that table was not very happy, we felt bad and said nvm. The host came right over and told us to move the kids to the table as she advised. 😅🫣 We thoroughly enjoyed the visit. They have redeemed themselves with food and great service.

Our favorite meal on this trip to Jacksonville. Metro Diner has some great food. We were both happy to have picked this for breakfast- coffee was awesome and our waitress knocked it outta the park!! ❤️❤️❤️

We had brunch at Metro Diner and absolutely loved it. Some real standouts were the fruity waffle — loaded with fresh fruit and bursting with flavor — and the fried chicken and waffles. They even mixed the sweet and hot sauce right at the table, which was a really fun touch and tasted amazing. The omelets were also excellent, cooked perfectly and very satisfying. The whole place has a relaxed, comfortable vibe and friendly service. We’d definitely go back and highly recommend it for brunch!

Very quiet and friendly service. The strawberry butter is life!! Absolutely delicious. Chicken and waffles seasoned to perfection! Tons of meat in the meat lovers omelette. 10/10

I wasn't really that hungry so I ordered the Belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and bananas and when I tell you it was so good, fluffy, and hot? I got so full and was satisfied with my order. Our waitress was so sweet and nice, very attentive and deliberate with making sure our cups stayed refilled with our beverages. I will be visiting again

This was my 1st time visiting Metro. We were in FL for a cruise 🛳 and Milton created a smaller window for the trip. Anyway we visited a few local restaurants and one was this one. My friends have tried it and liked it. To me, the waffle wasn't my favorite but the chicken was really, really good. The service was great, so I'd give it another chance at a different location.

I got the loaded pumpkin waffle it was delicious as EVER the cost was 11.81. The service was amazing as always with fresh food is rare but metro nailed it

I'm from out of state. My first visit left me with nothing but great things to say about the food and service. I even started making my biscuits and gravy with cheese! I must say, I was excited again for breakfast! The atmosphere seemed pretty cool, and place was crowded! This time...I don't know what happened. I usually take pictures of my food, but I wasn't prepared. I had to return my food because I didn't get the right potatoes. My order was eggs Benedict with crab cakes, hash browns with grilled onions, and a side of bacon. My order came with home fries and had to be exchanged for the hash browns. When I got my plate back, my friend still hadn't received his food. My food was a little more than warm at best, and anyone who orders poached eggs, looks forward to the runny yolk. The yolk looked like it wanted to run, but it was gelatinous. The crab cake was overcooked as well, and my grilled onions were set on top of my hash browns. The Hollandaise sauce was kind of tart and lacked flavor. The bacon, coffee and service were the best parts of breakfast. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits. He also had to send his food back to be re-prepared. The grits were served in a block and not all creamy. Although he said that was his fault, he did say that the sauce wasn't like usual. It was too thick and gelatinous as well. When he got his order back, the sauce was a little thinner, but broken and there was butter or whatever was used, around the edge of the bowl, and throughout the sauce. He hardly ate any. He said the shrimp was the only thing good. The sauce took away from the grits, which were better the second time. The restaurant was busy, but there was a lot of talk and laughter around the grill. It's great to have fun while you work, but not at the customer's expense. My friend only recognized a couple of people in that area, so there may have been a new cook staff. I visit Jacksonville often, and this is one of my friend's go to breakfast spots, but we may have to try a different location next time.

The chicken and waffles were good ($17). We'd get them again. My wife would just get the chicken, which she considered to be Jollibee-level, again, but I like me some waffles occasionally, so I'd get both. Sharing one serving was more than enough for the both of us! We took the final piece of chicken (of four), the biggest one, home to freeze it and eat it later. We got a side of cole slaw ($4). It was below average. You need to add some fiber to a meal like this, however, so next time maybe we'd try a side of fruit. I wanted to try everything on their menu: it all sounded good. I did see they have biscuits with sausage gravy available as a side, which would be a nice way to try it. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get a seat late on a Sunday morning. We waited outside, where the loudspeaker calling out names was far too loud. Inside, it was a bit loud and crowded, which isn't my favorite thing, but at least we had a booth.

I wish I could give 10 stars to Katie, our server today. Polite, professional, caring, and customer centered. She is truly a gem! Knowing that my friend and I have not seen each other in over 10 years, she gave us extra time to spend before we placed our order and then took her time making sure we had enough refills so that we had more time together. Had no time did she ever rush us. My friend had the avocado toast with eggs which she loved. She asked for extra everything seasoning which Katie quickly brought to her. I had the corned beef hash, which is homemade and outstanding! It has become my new go too! Thank you, Metro for Katie. She's phenomenal.

We've been there many times alone or with guests. Great food, great service and always busy. Everything is fabulous. Just like Grandma's if she could cook. You will fall in love like we did.

I decided to go to this location for breakfast being that I was in the area. Parking was slightly difficult to find being that it's a shared parking lot. After waiting a few minutes I managed to find a parking spot. The food is always good everything go here. The service is slightly slow but good, because this location stays full. I decided to order their meat lovers omelet. The omelet was fluffy and full of meat like my neighbor's cat. The grits are good as well. I also had toast on the side as well. I'll definitely return this location.

the menu offers a wide variety of food and choice. I ordered the avocado toast with a side of grits. the toast was bland and the avocado tasted a day old and lazy. my partner ordered the crab cake Benedict because it was the special. both entrees were sub par if i'm being completely honest. i don't see how this place is popular the food was not seasoned and the coffee cups were dirty i had to return my cup. waitress was great though!

My young son and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner today 12/8/25. There was only two ladies working the front but they were both very kind and sweet to my son and myself and very helpful we sat at the bar seating and the kitchen staff was all very kind and wonderful as well and the food was amazing! Thank you to the staff for being so awesome and making some wonderful tasting food for us this evening!

Service was horrible the girl with the long brown and white hair refused to serve me for a to go order and she had no one to assign a table and there wasn't any tables to sit anyone. Then when she saw the go line got longer then she started to help bag orders and then said okay I'm done I'm going back to my job. Very unprofessional hostess. When I finally got my order after serving people after me I got luke warm food that was already sitting on the Togo shelf. The restaurant is self is very homey but not enough space. When I got my pumpkin pancakes they were not like the picture overall not a good quality for your money. They usually are good but long wait times this will be my last time ordering here.

Listen, hear me out! It's just metro, I know....but I had the best breakfast here! Yes, I was starving, but the food was the bomb! Our server did a wonderful job of navigating me through my complicated order...as I seemed to want to try everything on the menu at once but I ended up with the Bacon, egg and cheese croissant...with an extra egg. The best way (in my opinion) to get the home fries is cooked crispy with onions and peppers added. It literally does so thing to you when you bathe those potatoes in ketchup and a hint of ranch. Everything went as planned and I left there full as a tick. The ambiance is...blah. It's a food spot where folks come to eat, talk, then dip. Not big expectations here but everyone working is friendly and they know their stuff. One lady was even dancing with my son as he was telling me wanted to go to the potty.....even though he had a diaper on. lol.

Tried this location out for the first time since I live nearby and honestly it was okay wouldn't say it's the best. The place is quite spacious. The service was fair as well the food. Here's what we tried : Meat omelette - 7/10 it was okay was a bit flavorless Season rice - 5/10 more vegetables than rice..... wasn't really a fan...... Biscuit and gravy - 8/10 was a little flavorless Over med eggs and hash brown - eggs were cook perfectly tastes

Came for breakfast with a friend visiting from CO and had a great experience as always! We used the virtual waitlist feature and were seated quickly upon arrival. Our server was fast and attentive and the restaurant was buzzing as always on a Sunday! Our food was great and came out fast and hot. Great choice for Sunday brunch!

Went to dinner with friends last night. Food was excellent! Julie, our server, was great!! Hadn't been to this location before. Loved the "old diner" feel.

I had a bowl of their shrimp corn chowder. It was very good. I also ordered the boneless chicken wings which were not so good. They are simply of poor quality. Ordered with teriyaki spicy sauce. Not a trace of spice. I can't recommend them at all. Service was good and it definitely has that "diner" ambiance going for it.

Alway great friendly service and good food after mass!!!! Breakfast for dinner is okay!!!! I really enjoy coming here

This place is busy on a regular day. Add in that this visit was on Father's day and we thought we'd be waiting for a table for a significant time. We got lucky. Being that we were a small party of three, we got super lucky! We got seated immediately! Hubby ordered the breakfast pizza. He said it was a 3.5 out of 5 stars in taste. Warning, it is HUGE! It could easily feed two grown men. I don't eat eggs, so I can't comment on it. I ordered my favorite, Charleston shrimp and grits. It never fails to satisfy. It comes with two perfectly cooked grit patties in a flavorful white gravy moat with chunks of andouille mixed in. I believe the shrimp is Mayport shrimp. It's the perfect blend of textures and flavors. Our 6 year old ordered the half plate of pound cake French toast topped with fresh strawberries. Plate was licked clean!

3.75 Weekday visit Seated right away Server took a little bit to get to us, but was busy and nice Menu options- good selection as well as some specials on the board. Offered both breakfast and dinner. I will say I was surprised there were no waffle offerings that came with eggs or a meat. Had to piece meal something for my daughter which adds up. Food: Breakfast items: Eggs (scrambled)- good, hash browns a bit dry, sausage links were better than the patty. Waffle was fluffy. Dinner items: Philly- decent, not spectacular. Steak bowl, ok- good amount of meat but not many larger veggies with the rice. Meatloaf- large portions and tasty. Tight inside space, expected for a diner. Would try again, definitely would try something new this time or stick to breakfast.

Today things went great. Sat quickly the waitress was super polite made great suggestions and helped get the combo I wanted. The hibiscus unsweetened tea is delish. We had a burger bowl, the fried chicken and a breakfast burger. All good all hot and tasty. Usually it's hit or miss at metro but today was a solid day food and service wise!!

The place was empty drink was never refilled just poor service. The was nothing exciting. My friend got sick from her dinner just can't ever go back so disappointed. No reason for any of this

This my first visit to a Metro Diner but my wife has been to several locations. Not a lot to say, honestly. Just great food and great service. There was a wait, but it was 10:30 on a Sunday morning, so we expected that. Once we were seated, service was fast and attentive. I'd like to come back for other food later in the day sooner than later.

Another wonderful place to eat in Jax. A staple in our community. Great breakfasts. Never ate anything here I did not like. Love the small bistro ambiance. Great customer service and kindness. Try it.....,you will love it. Deliveries are available with food delivery apps.

Today was a sad day , we typically love this spot, Service was beyond horrible, had to get up a couple times to get more condiment for our coffees, we waited 25 min prior to being served . Kept having to flag down waiter to get any service during meal , people that sat down after us got there food before us.. My wife's and my food was barely warm, as if it had been Sitting a while, butter wouldn't even melt when putting the butter between the stack.. We would have sent it all back if we weren't starving , and could have waited . Which we don't understand they had plenty of wait staff , and two runners ..

Can anyone say anything bad about Metro Diner? I only wish we had one In Nassau County. Well then I might be big as a house, but what delicious food! This is a restaurant that constantly scores perfectly during each visit. Brianna was our server and she was absolutely divine. She makes the patron feel like they are so welcome. I mostly order breakfast at most all diners because I at least know I can finish my meal...usually. Order anything else and prepare for doggy bag status. It's all good, nope great

Great food, nice variety. But its a kitchen so expect loud. The menu has sort of grown back. The meatloaf is great, fish and chips, chicken pie. And all the breakfast food I's yummy. Sweet tea or pineapple juice.

We dropped by this location of Metro Diner for lunch and it wasn't as busy as the other locations I've visited, but we still had to wait for a table (maybe short staffing). Due to the short staffing our server might have had more tables than he could handle. He was very polite, but slow about getting the table stuff we need, and he didn't check back to make sure we were satisfied. The food was very good. I had a BLT.

Food so mid. Pancakes rubbery. Biscuit doughy. Fried eggs served with whites uncooked. Service was pleasant but server didn't bother to ask why I barely touched my food.

I have always loved Metro Diner and have gotten great service and food in the past,, but this last online $80+ order was not one. I picked up at the Baymeadows location and when I got home there were several problems. 1. The potine did not have any gravy, have requested it on the side but was not included. 2. The fried chicken plate was suppose to have 2 side items, it did not. 3. There were more fried potatoes in the chicken nuggets than chicken. Calledl the restaurant and talked to the manager, who said he would credit the potine and chicken plate, he has not. Very disappointing all around both food and service !!!!!

I think Metro D hits on all points - food, value, & service. I love their chicken and waffles. Not a local but I will be back next time in JAX.

Excellent service, friendly servers and front desk workers. The food was freshly made and pretty good! My son got the chicken and waffles (HUGE PORTION) and the chicken was seasoned well and crispy. The spicy syrup was too spicy for my son so he used the regular maple syrup. The eggs Benedict were delicious and the pancakes were fluffy and yummy. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. We only had to wait 15 mins on a Saturday morning, which was great! We would definitely go back.

Taneile was a fantastic server!!!! Great food and service!!!They serve a great breakfast all day! Delicious!!!

I love everything on Metro Diners menu plus the service! Food always comes out quickly and tasted amazing. My husband loves their bold city burger since he's a meat lover but I love the Bissell breakfast which is like a make your own with a ton of options of any kind of eggs, any bread type, hash brown or grits with different options of meat to choose from and a side of pancakes. Absolute joy every time we come on the weekend! Also, our service was so sweet and observant. Our servers name was Desiree. I'm glad we were able to be seated in her section and served! Highly recommend!

The food was cold, dry and left much to be desired. I will not order Uber eats from this location ever again.

The Manager made me whole again. We chatted in the phone. He was very apologetic; understood my dander at the time; and graciously sent me a refund of my payment.

Always a solid choice for breakfast! The chicken and waffles will always be a staple for my boyfriend, he loves everything about it. The Salisbury steak was apart of the daily special and was delicious! Go here if you love good comfort food and breakfast!

I had previously done to a Metro Diner before and left that experience was much better. I noticed how the menu was much much smaller with now just the typical items to order that can be found anywhere. Sad to see that happen. Especially for a place that was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives for their food, now there is nothing that would cause me to come back. With that being said, the food was good and prepared correctly, just nothing to write home about. The service was the best thing about my experience at the Jacksonville location.

Very good place to siit down. I used to work there but was told that I dont meet what they were looking for after I told them I have a brain injury and my best friend died from a stroke. Very unprofessional.

I have been going to Metro for years and have tried several dishes that I love. The chicken and waffles with strawberry butter, steak and eggs, bacon avocado bowl. My list could go on. They also have daily specials for food and coffee flavors. Personally, I like the coffee. The customer service is always great and your food comes out fast. Have never had a negative experience at Metro!

Popular place with the locals, honestly I have yet to try a dish at this local chain that I haven't enjoyed. They are always packed, be ready to wait as I always see a line outside, staff is super friendly and quick. I love their weekly specials as it's quite a board with sooo many options for their specials in addition to their large menu. Highly recommend this place.

I'm a regular at this location and it's usually an excellent experience. Wait staff has always been attentive and the food usually exceptional. However last night wasn't one of those nights. Took much longer than normal for food to come out. J watched our order sit in the pick up area for about 10 minutes while everyone seemed to be more worried about preparing take out orders. When the food finally arrived it was cold and undercooked. Another table near us was having similar issues. Seemed like a different crew behind the counter last night. Any place can have a bad night. I get that. To their credit they did do a partial comp.

The Charleston shrimp and grits. Omg such huge portions. This is the real deal Holyfield. I would definitely recommend this. Though not the traditional plate, it is quite a twist by substituting the accustomed bowl of grits and switching it for two big grit cakes. When I walked in, there was no wait and the host told me to choose my seat. My favorite are booths and everyone on them but one had dishes waiting to be cleared off so I chose the booth in the back. The waitress was very nice. The sweet tea was sweet. The food came out in a decent amount of time. Good choice. Would visit.

AMAZING FOOD!!! Highly recommended to go to this establishment to partake in filling your stomach's with this gorgeous and savoring food, that is out of this world. I felt satisfy and happy while my family and I chowed down till to the end. HIGHLY recommend the CINNAMON PANCAKE, BEST IN THE WORLD (my brother says, which ngl it is). At the end of the day I would highly recommend your family to dine here. Everything was spot on, the gourmet food (yes it's that good) , the waiters hospitality and warm welcome, and the hardworking cooks that keep the quality high with their dishes. This made me happy to travel and be able to pick this spot to dine in, Thank You.
