The food was fantastic, the service was incredible and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. The metro dine has a great menu for everyone and food with flavor! Whether you’re having their breakfast or lunch, the food here is fresh and flavorful. Our drinks stayed full, our table was checked on often. I would definitely recommend to stop here for any meal of the day. The restaurant has large booths and tables that are family friendly. Our waitress Janya made some wonderful recommendations from the menu!! Make sure you ask for her section when you come in! You won’t be disappointed! She even made up the restaurant’s special sauce right at the table for the chicken and waffles. Super yummy!!

Wonderful restaurant with fantastic food and great service! Visiting Tampa for the weekend, we went on Saturday for breakfast and it was so good we went back on Sunday as well. We tried the fish and chips and the southwest scramble bowl on Saturday, both were delicious! On Sunday we tried the salmon and the San Francisco Benedict - excellent choices!

OLIVIA provided excellent service as it took us a long time to decide what we wanted. She was very personable and patient. We chose the great chowder so thick I could have eaten it with a fork. The salad was fresh and delicious. So glad we chose the fried chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese lettuce and tomato with a huge bun. The chicken was juicy and tender inside with just a nice layer of crispy crunch The devote here is all diner with a diner bar. Accesssibke indoor tables and booths. Accessible venue. Accessible restroom with 2 grab bars and 5ft x 5 ft space What a great diner experience !!!

While visiting Tampa on vacation, we were recommended to go to the Metro diner. The staff was very informative and provided great service. The food was great and good portions for breakfast. I highly recommend the pancakes and paying attention to the specials.

Great cozy diner that has that instant “at home” feel that I crave from diners. The waitstaff are incredible- happy, efficient, effective, communicative, quick, and proud… you really can’t ask for much better when it comes to a friendly face here. The food assortment had everything I could choose from without being cheesecake-factory-level big menu; all the staples of a good diner with some great specialties. Quality food and portions and quick service - a great spot for Tampa.

The chicken and waffles are unmatched. The peach iced-tea is amazing. Stacie is fantastic, top-tier service and great energy. Even while training new employees, during lunch hour rush, you will have a refill before you knew you needed one.

We use to go to metro diner ALOT, but recently it’s been nothing but disappointment. My sister usually always orders the chicken and waffles with tenders, but yesterday when she ordered it the chicken was VERY SALTY and this is not a one time thing it’s was many times already, but once a while she does get a edible plate of chicken and waffles. Their food quality is very inconsistent now. Her home fries were straight up burnt. We wish they could fix this issue because we love metro diner.

Amazing first time experience today. I wish I got our servers name she was amazing. The food was perfect. Can't say enough about this place. Truly a hidden gem.

What a start to the day! Beginning with the customer service, Metro was really great. We had a semi large party, but we were seated fairly quickly just after the lunch rush. They gave us time to look through the menu and showed us the specials on the wall as well. We ordered a lot of options and then shared. It is A TON of food! Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had so much food, you could definitely have some to take home for later. It wasn't too loud so you could talk to your table as well. I especially enjoyed that the background was the kitchen so it gave you a very homey feel. I can't wait to return!

I was told there was no open seating in the outdoor section, so I ate at la segunda next door. I stared at an open table my entire meal. Wtf? Business must be good if you can just turn away customers because you don't want to work.

We stopped by after our flight into Tampa. Great atmosphere, felt like a true diner. The artwork was fun to look at and overall felt welcoming. The protons are huge! I was only able to eat half of my Benedict and about half of the hash browns. You can absolutely share this. Benedict was good but my avocado has some hard spots on it that I just cut off.

First it gets busy incredibly fast so be warned. As for the food, the chicken and waffles were pretty good. The meat lovers scramble was very good. The regular pancakes were not good at all. Next time I'll prob try the cinnamon roll pancakes. I do recommend coming here and quite early.

I really enjoy the food at Metro Diner. They know how to cook over easy scrambled eggs. I liked the crispy hash browns. The coffee was not watered done. Even grits are good. The service is quick and friendly. It was crowded on a Saturday but has fast service.

Was pleasantly surprised we were able to walk in with no wait, they were very busy..we were greeted by the friendly staff upon entering and were seated right away. Jessica came over and took our drink order and pointed out the specials...it was cute inside and they had a board with all the specials on it...Fried Chicken was the choice today, have not had any on a long time and heard theirs was good...it was cooked fresh and served nice and hot, it was served with Fresh Green Beans and homemade Mashed Potatoes and a Biscuit. They have a spicy sauce they will make for you to dip the Chicken in and it is delish...you get 1/2 Chicken and I highly recommend it ..some of the best I have had...Jessica was wonderful and I would highly recommend this place and try all the wonderful choices they offer..cannot wait to try something new next time!

Friendly Service as soon as you walk in. Smiles all around from the staff, getting seated, taking your order & delivering your food. Parking is No Bueno, it's located in a plaza, that must be busy, because at this point, you need to park as soon as you find a spot, either close or far & walk if you must. It's pretty small inside, but I think it's enough room, to sit a big party, if you happen to visit with family & friends. Lots to chose from on the menu, breakfast & lunch, so I guess depending on what your feeling like, order to your hearts content, than enjoy the company & the food. Pricing is not too bad for what's on the item & the food we ordered came out fast, hot & yummy, they did not disappoint, nice portion sizes too.

Fried chicken Benedict is amazing! We also tried the pecan coffee and that was also delicious!

I got to check out this spot while in Tampa on vacation. It's funny because we have Metro Diners in Charlotte. We came her after an early morning of traveling and we were starving! I ordered the chicken and waffles just to get to the point lol. So hungry. This dish was massive! When our server brought my plate I asked him if anyone ever finishes this?! He said sometimes, yea. I couldn't believe it. There was like an entire half of fried chicken on my plate and huge waffles. I liked this dish, it could do with just a smidge more flavor though. I did not finish this meal but I did enjoy it! I love that they served mimosas too. I really do want to check out another Metro Diner in Charlotte and try more items. Great service and nice visit!

Great place to catch up with a friend. I got the Bacon Avocado Scramble, but since I don't eat bacon I substituted it out with Turkey links. I found the hollandaise sauce to be a bit much and next time should ask for it on the side. Otherwise, it was delicious. I love the hash browns and the hollandaise sauce is necessary to give it some oomph. There wasn't a lot of avocados, but the rest of the ingredients were fantastic. I would get this again. There weren't a lot of people here at 9 a.m. on a Thursday, but the parking lot was still pretty full. Our waitress was great at the beginning, but when we wanted to pay our check she disappeared for a while. We were lucky we weren't in a rush. Otherwise, when we did see her she was great. This place has a total diner feel, but is clean and everyone is friendly. I would definitely come here to meet up with a friend and grab a bite to eat.

I came here a few days ago for lunch with my 2 year old. We were warmly greeted and seated pretty promptly. I ordered his eggs, bacon and silver dollar pancakes for his lunch. I mean good for him because he never has bfast for lunch. He ate the 1 scrambled egg and the 3 silver dollar pancakes! Victory! For myself I did the Steak and Egg Scramble which was a risk because sometimes that Steak can be over cooked. In this instance it wasn't but the Hollandaise sauce was toooooo much. If I were to get this again, I'd tell them to take it easy or just get it on the side. The service was just ok. The only time the server came around was to ask me if I wanted another Coke Zero while I was taking my 2 year old to the bathroom. Read the room my man! Parking wasn't too bad but i've been here before where it's too crowded! I'll give it another shot down the line but no rush.

A diner that knows to do ten things right, than fifty things half-assed. Good coffee. They KISS.

The staff was friendly during my visit, and placing a to-go order at the restaurant was quick and easy. The person taking my order was nice, patient, and very helpful. The food was fresh, delicious, and filling--I'll definitely be back!

Breakfast is good. Busy place but it's a quick turnover, Easy on and out. Hash browns and bacon breakfast is the way to go.

Came out for a group lunch after a volunteer event. They were able to seat 14 of us and service was exceptional overall. Lots of menu options for breakfast or lunch. The pancakes are delish! Had a breakfast bowl and it was so good!

First time at Metro Diner and I had a great breakfast. We were greeted upon entering by the nice hostess and seated. I ordered the apple cinnamon waffle with a scrambled egg and home fries. My husband had their fried chicken and waffles. We both loved our food and it came out fast. Our server was awesome too. Overall: I would definitely come back and this is a great spot for a yummy, but casual breakfast experience!

This is the fiery time I have eaten at a restaurant winter Guy Ferrari has feature. I was excited to try this place. Apparently they have several locations. We tired the location on Kennedy Blvd. the place was nice and clean the server was friendly the food! The food was huge in portion and delicious. I enjoy my San Francisco Egg Benedict's. my sister law tired the maple pancake infused with bacon. It was a special.what I like about this place is they server lunch and dinner for breakfast which my husband enjoyed! He is not a breakfast person. He prefer lunch or dinner so he ordered the BLT and my mother in law got the two egg special. All in all I will be back because it's close to the airport.

The service was really good here! The bacon egg croissant was really good! The croissant was good! Soft and tasty! The egg breakfast was everything cooked to perfection!! The chicken sandwich was so juicy! The bacon was good not crunchy! This spot was good! Will come back again when in tampa!

Honestly, I was originally going to go to Segunda next door and I saw the sign for chicken pot pie and eggs Benedict on the door (I got neither Hahha). Anyway, I came before 8am and the place was pretty empty, but within a few minutes people started coming. They serve breakfast and dinner all day so the world is your oyster here. I had the avocado egg sandwich with a side of hash browns and their famous chicken & waffles. You'll want to get the chicken & waffles because the chicken is so juicy and delicious. The waffles come with strawberry butter and it was delicious. The plate is big and you may or may not finish it depending on how hungry you are. The staff was lovely overall. I'd definitely come back here.

We were in town and decided to check out this diner, after seeing how highly recommended it was on both Yelp and Google Maps. Holy cow they did not disappoint. I went with the fried chicken Benedict and it was quite possibly the best I've ever had. The portionsize was HUGE. I couldn't even finish one tender/waffle stack LOL. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. Crunchy layer on the top/bottom and flavorful!!!

I've been to many different Metro Diner locations. The food is always consistent. The Metro Diner is what New Yorkers would consider to be as close to a traditional NY diner as we have here in Tampa. The food is plentiful and reasonably priced. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and offer an extensive menu with daily specials. This particular location is extremely convenient to my car dealership. I dropped the car off for service and walked across the Street for breakfast. I think Metro Diner is best known for their chicken and waffles but on this early morning I chose bacon, eggs and cheddar on a croissant with crispy hash browns. It was a large delicious breakfast sandwich which I totally enjoyed.

Great eatery where you can't go wrong no matter the meal choice of either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Today was a breakfast type of day and like all other visits didn't disappoint. I ordered the traditional breakfast platter called the Bissell breakfast available all-day go-to designed to satisfy all your tastes and cravings. It comes with 2wo eggs of any style, bacon, toast, hashbrowns or grits, and a short stack of pancakes or toast. The service was on point from our server, Connor was awesome even with the many menu substitutions from the group. 10/10 in my book every time!!

Connor was a great server. Got the fried chicken eggs Benedict and grits. Yummy! Fried chicken breast and eggs cooked perfectly for a Benedict---nice runny yolks. Great grits as well and refreshing iced tea. Nice music too.

Finally had the opportunity to dine at Metro Diner and my family had a great experience. It's pretty busy between 11am and 2pm. We did wait for 15 mins before being seated. It's a small diner but can still accommodate groups. The fan fave on the menu is the chicken and waffles. You have an option of bone-in and boneless. You get half a chicken with the meal! Personally, the bone-in was delicious, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The included strawberry butter was an added bonus. The service was also great and the food is surprisingly reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

I have ordered the same exact thing at my visits - Chicken and Waffles with two strawberry butters and once again this was perfection. I won't even try anything else as once you try it you will never go back. My wife always ordered the Shrimp and Grits but this is the third location and they have done something to the recipe as it is no longer her favorite and she is going to order the chicken and waffles from now on and give up on her beloved Shrimp and Grits. Our server was excellent and all in all went aways stuffed and happy. Would get a 5 if they figured out where the original recipe for Shrimp and Grits went and start making it again the proper way.

Love a Metro Diner! We've been to a few locations across the state and the service at this one was a little lacking for us when we came in. When I'm able to run out of both water AND Diet Coke... it's been too long since our waitress visited the table. Food was not quite as good as it is at the other locations I've been to. I got the steak and eggs bowl which is one of the BEST breakfasts around. I usually get it with poached eggs because the runny yolk makes a great dish even better. One of the eggs had a hard yolk which was sad but it's still a great dish. Also the cinnamon roll pancakes, to die for. Too much frosting topping in this case? It was drowning in it. But I scraped some of it off and was able to eat most of it. The crispness of the cinnamon makes such a tasty bite. Four stars because I love this chain.

Ate here for a late lunch. The food came out quick and was delicious and good sized portions. The salad was a good size and didn't spare on the toppings. Wife had the club sandwich and was fantastic. The fries .. what's the secret crispy outer crust and creamy potato inside. The biscuits with gravy were off the charts!!! The gravy was creamy and nice sized sausage to fill with flavor. It was very quiet and relax atmosphere again it was late afternoon on a Tuesday. The blueberry hibiscus tea was exceptional!! And the mimosas was just right for the weather. I wanted to correct my review and apologize to the business. Metro Diner is fantastic all around. Wait staff was welcoming and friendly.

6 of us had brunch here today - we chose it because of the great Yelp reviews. It's busy, we had to wait a bit - about 1/2 hour. I had avocado toast with 2 eggs and a side of cheesy grits. Avocado toast was great, eggs were sunny side up as asked and the grits had cheese on top & bottom of the bowl. Others had avocado toast with feta, pancakes, fruit waffles and a bowl of fruit. We all loved what we had. Service was fast in spite of it being so busy. Price was what you might expect.

If you have not tried Metro you are missing out. I have been to this location multiple times and every time the food is delicious and the service is usually good depending on the time you visit. Make sure you look at their special board on the wall for new menu ideas and their flavored coffee.

The chicken and waffles were amazing. The portions were larger than expected. I was skeptical about the sauce they made for the chicken, but it was amazing. Job well done!

Great food and wonderful service. Been here a few times now and really enjoyed the service and the food. Had bloody Mary's and San Francisco eggs Benedict. Definitely my favorite Saturday morning place to enjoy

My boyfriend and I stopped by on Monday morning for brunch. The place itself is really cute and gives you those traditional diner vibes. We were able to sit right away even though I hear this place has gotten pretty busy. To start off I wanted mint tea unfortunately they didn't have any so I had to settle for black lemon tea. My boyfriend ordered a lemonade it was okay, I wish it was more natural tasting. For our entrees we ordered the croissant French toast and double decker BLT. Both dishes were really good and I would recommend. The croissant French toast is to die for and they are really generous with the portion size. My BLT was perfect and I love that they have gluten-free sliced bread available. Our waitress was really attentive and friendly. I would definitely be back! The prices are also very reasonable our bill was around $40.

The food was excellent. Our server Kesley was great and she gave recommendations. Everything we ate was good. The only suggestion that I have is that the hash brown should've been cooked a little longer. The place was clean. I will be back.

My first time having lunch here. I read this was a local favorite so I had to try it. Came in during a summer thunderstorm. The place was quite busy, but there were still many tables available. I ordered a breakfast dish; their Fried Chicken Benedict. The plate was large and it had a side of Hash browns. The eggs came very well prepared. They were tender and the yolk was runny, which is how a benedict should be. The hash browns tasted very fresh and not very oily. Unlike other places that serve old hash which are either burnt or hard and greasy. The server ladies were very friendly and attentive. They really know how to take good care of their customers. Really had a nice time here

Metro Diner was actually recommended to me by a friend. We were looking for a cute breakfast spot in Tampa and this place always looked packed (helpful sign that the food is good!). The restaurant really does look like a classic diner. Seems very family friendly, but also a fun spot to meet up with friends. We went on a Sunday morning around 9 am and didn't have to wait for a table. Our server was very kind and quick. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes; they truly tasted like you were eating a cinnamon roll! I'm not normally into sweet breakfasts, but the pancakes were so fluffy and not dense at all. The cinnamon swirl weaved into the pancake was delicious and the cinnamon butter on top melted into a yummy bite. I didn't add any syrup as the pancakes were moist and sweet enough on their own. Overall, really enjoyed the food. I would love to come back and try a savory breakfast like one of their omelet bowls.

Was going to go to La Segunda bakery next door for breakfast but saw this place and decided to try it instead. Glad I stopped by as I really enjoyed the food here. Spacious diner with plenty of booth seating. I order the chicken and waffles and it was amazing. First off, the portions are huge. It is definitely a hearty filling meal. The chicken was fried perfectly and the batter was delicious. Chicken had great bold flavors and didn't need any sauce or anything. Dish could serve two for sure. The service was also great. My server was super friendly and attentive. Great spot for breakfast lunch or dinner!

Everything about this establishment is great. From the time I walked through the door and exiting, the experience was great. I went for breakfast and not only did Rashidi keep my coffee topped-off, but the food was delicious. I chose the meat lovers bowl, and opted out of the hash browns. Rashidi was generous and added extra eggs for the substitution. That's great service. While you sit at the counter, you get a view of the kitchen works and all chefs were busy and attentive to the patron's requests. I WILL return on the next time around in Tampa as it would be difficult to pull me away from this place.

I haven't tried Metro Diner before and was excited to find out they have a pretty extensive gluten friendly/gluten free menu. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak which is one of my favorite things to eat but it's hard to find it gluten free usually. It hit the spot at lunch and had a lot of meat in it. My friend and I got seated pretty fast when we arrived and service was efficient.

Smells amazing in here! Stopped in around 11a on a Monday before heading to the airport. As a visitor to Tampa, I had this place bookmarked to try. Seated near the kitchen, I had the good fortune of seeing the food coming out which made it hard to decide on my meal choice. 1/2 Waffle, 1/4 Fried Chicken white meat, 1 scrambled egg and Side of Home Fries. All the food came out hot and fresh and it didn't take long at all. Everything was great and our service was tops as well! Thanks Metro!

To be honest. This is currently my second visit to give Metro Diner another chance. The food is below average. Eggs not tasty, hash browns was hard and greasy, grits was too watery. Pancakes was "decent." The restaurant is nice inside and everyone is helpful. I wouldn't recommend the food. Sorry.

We both enjoyed the Eggs Benedict with hash brown potatoes, avocado and tomato. Well cooked. Service was very good...quick and helpful with navigating menu. Looks like a combination of a restaurant and dinner. Happy we tried and would go back again if there weren't so many other breakfast places to try near the Tampa airport.

Very busy restaurant on a Sunday. Lots to choose from and the omelets are big. One of their specialties is chicken and waffles. Highly recommend it. This visit I had the meat lovers omelette with hash browns and a biscuit. It was loaded with meat and the eggs were not over cooked.

If you happen to be in Tampa you MUST have brunch here! Great Sausage gravy and biscuits made the way I used to eat back in the Country days, excellent service, great family ambiance.

This place is pretty cool! We walked in a was immediately seated on a Saturday. Our waitress was outstanding brought us waters without asking and the menus . We ordered and within a few minutes our delicious food was out hot and plated well. Also, guess who's been here? #GuyFiery

I do like this restaurant, but when my biscuits and sausage gravy came out my biscuits were swimming in the gravy. I will not order this dish when I come back to visit. Hash browns were the highlight of this breakfast experience. Our waitress was very attentive and kind to us. The food came flying out of the kitchen since not many people eat breakfast at 6:30A on a Saturday.
