Belgrade, the gateway to the Balkans

"Built in 1957 and since renovated and modernised while retaining its unique charm, this landmark hotel hosts the rooftop Twenty Two, from which you can take in views of the city and the Church of St Mark while enjoying cocktails on a panoramic terrace." - Sarah Scaparone

Metropol Palace Hotel, Belgrade (Belgrade, Serbia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"From the outside the Metropol Palace Hotel is quite visibly a relic of a bygone era. But this sort of monumental Fifties modernism is very much back in style, and today’s Metropol is not a retro curiosity, but an integral part of present-day Belgrade’s social life. Its interior spaces have been thoroughly updated, lending a bit of modern-luxe residential style to its 108 rooms and 128 suites; the Spa Center wellness complex is an unusually extensive one, and its restaurants and bars include the impressive Twenty Two, set on the hotel’s high rooftop with a commanding view of the city." - Tablet Hotels

We spent last weekend in Belgrade and stayed at the Metropole Hotel, and I want to say that our experience was absolutely fantastic. The room was spacious, modern, and beautifully designed, and the bathroom was truly impressive. We also loved the spa, such a relaxing and elegant space.||The food at the top-floor restaurant was exceptional, and the staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly and attentive. The value for money was outstanding.||A special thank-you to Katarina Radic Grozdić from Guest Relations, who was extremely accommodating and helped us with everything we needed. Her warmth and professionalism made our stay even more memorable.||Highly recommended!

True genuine 3 star experience. The story in short: high price, to the point of being exaggeratedly high, opportunities and small rooms. We happen to travel both with family and with work quite often, ONLY in 4 and 5 star hotels. We came here from Velingrad in Bulgaria from another 5 star resort. A few months ago my wife booked a room with an extra bed for an 11 year old child, for which we paid extra, around 350 euros for our stay. Because we made this reservation almost half a year ago, for objective reasons, the child did not come with us. In Bulgaria they are very nice and understanding the situation and they offered us some bonuses (we did not necessarily want the money back)...while here, surprise, it was not possible. He said to ask Booking.com (and Booking also needed their approval - an approval they refused at the reception, as that was the hotel's policy). Ok, let's get over it...let's get the room. I had a shock when I got to the floor where the room was, the atmosphere was like one from a horror movie, with creaking doors and old furniture. Ok, I say maybe I'm being too harsh. When I got to the room I realized that the space was similar to that of some 3, maximum 4 star hotel if I'm being very indulgent. Parking, shock and horror - 25 euros/day. Food...25 euros/person for a buffet. Ok...I definitely do not recommend this hotel and I will never come back here. Otherwise, a very small Spa.

Our room was huge and the beds very comfortable so a good night's sleep ensued. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly so we would not hesitate to stay there again next time we are in town. Please note your good service certainly makes a huge difference to your sometimes weary travelling customers. One of our more pleasant and enjoyable stays in our 4 week holiday across Europe.

I am from the US and I visited Belgrade solo, after 40 years, and was delighted to see that the city is as vibrant and Serbian as I remember as a young child visiting family. The hotel staff spoke English and were so welcoming and kind. Accomodations and rooftop dining was perfect and very reasonably priced. The hotel is walking distance to St. Mark Orthodox Church, Kalemegdan, Knez Mikhailovo (great shopping ladies) and of course Republik Square. I stayed at the hotel for 5 days and I the city feeling so safe and engulfed in Serbian hospitality every where I went.| I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful city and enjoy the Serbian cuisine

We were given a very warm reception. The room was lovely (very chic and clean, good air-conditioning), the staff very friendly and professional. Amazing cocktails at the bar! Also there are many good cafes and restaurants in the area. We will happily come back every time we visit Belgrade. Next time we'll also try the restaurant, we've heard good things. Thanks for everything!

The hotel has a very nice lobby. They are slowly revamping the hotel so ask for the upgraded room. I booked a deluxe room and got upgraded to a mini suite which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was exotic and tasty but some of the things need to be warmed a little more. Ask your server and they will make sure you get a fresh omelet which is all one needs for a lovely breakfast. I like the bread at the hotel and the service is very good. My room was always cleaned the minute I left and they left me two extra bottles of water a day which is great for teeth brushing. Some of the rooms have showers and bathtubs but my room had a shower which is fine and I was pleased to ask for a room with a Parkview because it is pleasant to wake up to greenery. The lobby is very beautiful and they have a Michelin starred restaurant on the 10th floor mm I have not eaten there yet but I think it will be quite tasty. Overall I am very pleased with my decision to stay here and would stay here again. I really like the hot tub and the fact that the pool was open till 11:00 ask for room on a high floor that way you get a view of the city. Staff was very professional and pleasant and Ben's over backwards to please their guests.

Modern rooms, spacious. Sadly the hotel is still smoking in common area... The spa is regularly dirty but offer a relative large pool where you can swim. The restaurant at the top offers a good view of the city. Overall, a good option but not exactly in the city center. Probably right now the best ratio between price and quality for a 5 stars hotel in Belgrade.

Great hotel with elegant rooms and excellent service. The location is perfect, close to all main attractions. Breakfast was very good, but the spa could be improved. Overall, a solid 4-star experience.
