Daniel Radcliffe Fact Checked the New Yorker’s Oxomoco Review | Eater NY

"I followed Mark Drabich around for an evening at Metropolitan Seafood & Gourmet, a popular New Jersey seafood shop with a Lebanese twist, and watched him personally touch, pick, and buy seafood several nights a week for his store; much of the shop's fish is sourced from the New Fulton Fish Market and the market even supplies items like the fluke at Le Bernardin." - Carla Vianna

The freshest seafood, the friendliest staff and the best service of any gourmet market I’ve ever been too. I phoned to check on some soft shell crabs, Pablo picked up, and from then on I felt like I had my own private fish monger working just for me. Pablo assured me the softies were primo - fresh, full of sweet meat, and jumbo in size. When I arrived it was like Pablo was waiting there, just for me. He spent at least 30 minutes with me, cleaning the crabs, providing delicious sashimi samples, and making recommendations on the top picks in the case. I asked if they ever got in some of my favorite fish - Cobia, Opah, Toro - and Pablo took my number and promised to call when they do. I watched as the staff assisted other customers and the commitment to service here is unmatched. From shucking oysters with care, to de-veining shrimp and even removing pin bones from filets, these guys do it all, and are genuinely happy to do it. You may get a little sticker shock from some of the prices but trust me - when you are at the table later, you will know where that money went. I’m almost an hour away but I’ll never go anywhere else for fresh seafood. The Olive Oil and Balsamic vinegar bar is also fantastic, and be sure to pick up some fresh baked bread as well. What a place!

My two sisters and I flew in to Newark from NC. We are in Easton for a funeral for my Aunt. I was searching for an early seafood lunch at 10:30 am and discovered this place. It is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful! The food was DELICIOUS! We had lobster salad, shrimp salad and one sister had a burger. The brewery next door is a place folks usually go sit to eat if they are open or you can sit outside. Sounds bad in July but it was perfect as they have a tent with fans. Check them out! I wish I lived nearby!!!

Excellent lobster tails and sashimi grade fish. Owner was super friendly and even took the time to give me a great grilling recipe for my lobster. Highly recommend!

This is one of the most fabulous seafood markets I have ever been to. They used to be located in the downtown Clinton area; but, moved here several years ago and I followed them. The store is always very neat, clean, well-organized and well-stocked. They receive fresh seafood right off the boats on a daily basis. Their seafood is always fresh - never frozen. The owner and entire staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of seafood and specialty salads. A wide variety of seafood seasonings are also available. My favs are fillet of flounder (they will check to see that all the bones are removed), cod, shrimp, and their own homemade shrimp salad. They will even cook the shrimp or fry the seafood for you at no extra charge. They are located along Route 22 West and provide a large, free parking lot for their customers. The store is easily accessible. I always enjoy coming here and highly recommend this seafood market!

Ive decided to stop by since I've had oysters on my mind for a while... I was pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of the staff and selection of seafood. As one of the employees mentioned: "We get everything delivered fresh daily, hence the lack of fish smell...". And then it struck me - he was right - fresh seafood does not smell like fish.... Prices are on the higher end, but then again, everyone is fresh and fish is sushi quality. We ended up getting some oysters (selection based on recommendation - excellent by the way...), one row of sea urchin and some frutti do mare salad. Definitely worth stopping by if you have a craving for fresh seafood. In addition, you can order prepared food - I believe choices vary daily.

Awesome experience, helped by Bill or Ben who was there 10+ years, super knowledgeable and acted like an owner! A great guy, well trained! I wasn't expecting it but he packaged up our order and put it on ice since we're not local. Very kind gesture. Food was top notch, the BEST fish and chips in the tri state area, light and fluffy perfectly fried. The tarter sauce and cole slaw were amazing! Oh and fresh crab, that was amazing too! Don't forget to get a beer next door, that's good too!

The mini crab cakes were great. The NE clam chowder was a disappointment. Chowder was too potato laden and lack real clam flavor. Service was 2/3 good but we had to go back for shrimp cocktail which was definitely worth it. Prices were good for fresh seafood.

If you live within 2 hours of Metro, this should be your main store for everything fresh fish and seafood. We drive about 45 minutes each way to go here, and happily pass other options along the way. We’ve bought everything from whole fish, to Beluga caviar from this one-of-a-kind fish monger. They also have an import section for different Italian and Asian products. I highly recommend picking up one of their made to order sandwiches as well.
