Mew Haven Cat Cafe

Such a lovely place to visit. They had 28 cats and all of them were extremely friendly and most even walked up for pets and attention. Plenty of toys to play with the cats as well. The staff was extremely friendly. The gift shop was very very reasonably priced and had a lot to offer for being a smaller side part of the cage. The coffee was amazing and the cinnamon roll was to die for. I even picked up a tees short because it's a place I wouldn't mind showing I went to.

We had so much fun here! We booked a 50 min session and went at the end of the day so some of the kitties were just done being bothered for the day. We went around the time they were feeding though so we got to help feed them dinner and a lot of the cats were ready and waiting. They had all the info about each cat and they were all available for adoption which was great. The staff were very knowledgeable . I’m attaching some photos I took. I think this is a great way to get people in and to adopt. Or to just spend some time with friendly cats. I believe all kitties in my photos are available for adoption. We will be back for sure!!

I visited the café at maximum capacity (30 cats) and every single one of them was different in build, looks, personality, etc. My session was mostly just listening to music and enjoying the ambience. While socializing the younger cats is important for their adoption prospects, "for some people, small, beautiful moments are what life is all about!"

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Yoga with Cats at Mew Haven. It was such a fun time to be able to do something that you love and share it with so many cats, to make it 100% times more enjoyable experience. The yoga instructor made the class enjoyable and fun. The socialization time with the cats after class was amazing. We loved interacting with the kitties. The time we spent at Mew Haven was absolutely wonderful!

We visited Mew Heaven Cat Cafe on Sunday, and it was such a delightful experience! Booking our tickets ahead of time online was super easy and convenient. Once we arrived, we enjoyed some delicious coffee and tea while spending time with the adorable cats. The space is cozy, and the staff, especially Angela, the owner, was super friendly and welcoming. She really made our visit even more special. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy some time with furry friends. We had a great time and will definitely be back! Highly recommend for any cat lover!

**Update: We adopted this cat, Elf!** I went here today for “Cat Yoga” to have a fun Sunday session with my husband for his first Yoga Session .We have been loosely thinking about adopting another pet for our young cat who needs a companion. A cat did “choose” me by grooming me and napping on me during Cat Yoga, so we filled out an application. I do Yoga with my cat at home, so if you really want time to meet the cat, it’s a great experience! It’s different from meeting cats/dogs in foster care, as there is a chance you don’t get chosen to take the cat home which can be sad, so you have to be resilient and thankful to have an opportunity to at least meet the cat! The cat that gravitated towards me hasn’t been there too long, so I view it as a positive human interaction for her. I’ve been here before to meet adoptable cats, it’s always been a great experience. It’s nice to know the cats have space to roam and play. Everyone who works there is friendly, and the cats are playful, approachable, charismatic, well fed.

We had a great time here. My boyfriend is a cat person so he could really pet and play with all the friendly cats, and I haven't been exposed to them much but felt like I could really mingle with the cats as per my own comfort level. The staff was extremely friendly as well. Making the reservations was very convenient and the staff was particular about hygiene practices which we appreciated!

What a cute little space! So many beautiful cats up for adoption. You can tell they are well taken care of. The Soundbath was well done and so relaxing. Julia was amazing. It was cute to see the cats interacting with everyone, especially Julia when she was playing the bowls. I hope Mew Haven continues this fun experience!

This is the best cat cafe I've visited! It's a big space with lots of cats that are happy and healthy. This place is really well run and the staff was friendly.

Super friendly and brought in food donations, which they were very grateful for. The visit with the cats was informative, and we had a nice time with all the cat personalities.

If you're looking to relax and hang with some feline friends you don't have to look any further. This establishment is well kept with lovely staff and a coffee shop connected! The cats are sweet (and spicy) each with their unique and very loveable personalities! Book online for 1 or more hours and don't forget to hand sanitize before you go in! And if you're looking to adopt, the staff works closely with local shelters and take great care in finding the right feline friend for you!

We were early for Pistachio opening across the street, so we wandered over to the Mew Haven Cat Cafe and found ourselves unexpectedly enchanted. Though we didn't go inside, the large front windows offered a perfect view into the feline lounge, where a dozen or so cats lounged, leapt, and occasionally locked eyes with us like we were the entertainment. One tabby stretched dramatically across a sunlit perch, while a beautiful black cat gave us a slow blink that felt oddly personal. The space looked cozy and well-kept, with toys scattered across the floor and cat trees arranged like a miniature jungle gym. Even from outside, you could sense the calm, welcoming vibe. The cats had clearly claimed the room not just as their playground, but as a sanctuary. We didn't sip coffee or pet a single whisker, but the experience still lingered. There's something lovely about a place that invites connection even through a pane of glass. Next time, we'll book ahead. But for now, we're grateful for the glimpse. What a sweet cafe I don't know how you could give them less than five stars! My friends and I had a lovely time here. We checked in at the front and ordered some drinks (I got a matcha latte). I liked that there were plenty of things for sale, including a variety of cat toys and figurines. After we ordered, we went around the building through a separate entrance to meet the cats. Our drinks were ready in about 10 minutes or less, and we were really impressed by the number of cats as well as the clean space they were in. There were plenty of structures for them to hide in, sleep in, climb on, and we really enjoyed learning about each cat and their history. There are two big rooms as well as one bathroom available. You're even allowed to hold some of the cats, but just make sure you ask which ones you're allowed to hold. There's also a diagram of where each cat is comfortable being pet, which I found really helpful.

The cats range from cute and sweet to bitey and aggressive-like cats are. ‍ the door has a sharp edge that cut 1 persons finger and worst the place smells really bad, like someone forgot to change the litter boxes. For the most part the cats let you pet them but you gotta keep wits about you.

We had an amazing time hanging out with all the adorable kitties today! Thank you for having us and for everything you do to help the kitties find their forever homes. We will return!

Was visiting my brother when I stumbled upon this cute place. I absolutely love black cats and I'm glad to see so many of them in here (there were some others too ofc). I grabbed the Ginger Cat before going in with the cats and it was definetly worth the short break from thrifting around. I only stayed for 30 min playing and admiring them since I was on a little bit of a time crunch, but if you want to grab some nice coffee and just admire cats, this is the place.

They had a great cafe. All staff were super nice and friendly. The cats are super cute. i love how they have signs on where certain cats don't wanna be touched and their different personalities. Thank you so much for this experience!

I really enjoyed Mew Haven Cafe. I had been to two other cat cafes and found them to be OK, but this spot is, by far, my favorite. I cannot remember the person at the counter's name, but I believe she is the manager and she is fantastic! Very personable, kind, and informative. You can tell that she really enjoys being at the cafe, interacting with people, helping the cafe thrive, and overall committed to the cause. My boyfriend and I had a mocha and a cappuccino and both were good. I bought some goodies from the front area. They pack a lot into a small space as far as the merch is concerned. I wish they had more t-shirts, hoodies, wearables, but maybe they will consider that in the future. There are bits and bobs like pins, stickers, cat nip sticks, postcards, etc. You check-in at the front and then you go around to the side door(which you close before entering into the inner door to avoid any cats escaping) and then you get to lounge with cats. Some were sleeping, some were walking around, some were sassy, some were social. They are cats. Let them come to you. I was chosen by a beautiful white cat named Valentina, who slept on me the whole time. Bliss. The cat area was clean, didn`t smell bad, the employee in there was friendly, and I felt comfortable the whole time I was in there. The time went quick and I wanted to take the baby, but alas, I came from out of town. I hope to return next time I`m in the MEW Haven area. One thing I will note is that some of the cats need some closer attention as far as crusty eyes and some crusts on their heads. May be flear related, or infection. None were terrible, but I am a foster and resident cat mom and I am picky about the cats being clean and feeling their best. Overall, though, the cats seem happy and this is a great place.

Cutest kitties in all of New Haven! There are so many furry friends in this lovely cafe, I believe they had about 32 when I went, with detailed profile cards for each and every one of them . You can tell they really care about their wellbeing and respect their boundaries/preferences, which I really appreciate in a cat cafe. I arrived around peak nap time, but the cats became playful after a short while and even climbed into my lap unprompted. I really didn't want to leave :3. I noticed many reviews talking about the staff being on their phones, but I didn't find that to be the case and took it that they were giving you space to interact with the cats as you'd like. They were so friendly and willing to talk about each cat, they're super knowledgeable about every one. Thanks Mew Haven!!

Tasty drink and friendly kitties! Loved the info sheets they had on each cat and the diagram with where they like to be pet. You can tell the staff love them all and know them well.

#9 in my NEW ENGLAND & NY COFFEE SHOP SERIES Can you believe New Haven has a cat cafe?! And you can adopt these little cuties too! A fantastic business that adopts kitties from different shelters from all over CT. For around $20 you can make a reservation and have play time with cats for an hour. You can also order drinks which they bring over to you in the play area. My partner and I got the Valentine's day package which came with an hour with the kitties and free drinks. I got the red velvet latte and he got the ginger cat, both of them weren't very good too be honest. But they are a good price and the theming is cute. Tip: make a reservation for earlier in the day so the kitties won't be too tired or overstimulated

Really a great adoption service, and a really cool concept. It was pretty busy and full during our scheduled session. But there were enough friendly cats to make up for that.

This was such a great experience. The staff was amazing. Each cat was beautiful and had very different personalities. Extremely relaxing.

What a dream! I enjoyed the maple chai with a cat in my lap. I love how much space they have to roam around. I'll definitely be back.

Have always wanted to go and saw a post about mew haven having a purrs & pages reading event. Decided to go after work and was extremely glad to enjoy this cafe. There is a separate small cafe area where you check in and can make purchases for food/drinks and souvenirs. I went after work/dinner so next time with have to try the drinks. Check in was easy and after you go around to a separate entrance that has a double doored walkway to prevent any kitties from sneaking out, and you also hand sanitize before going in. This was geared to be a quiet event and was peaceful with cats awake and napping. A couple cats chose laps to sit in and get pets. They have a photo wall with info about each cat and petting preferences as well as adoption information. I will definitely plan on going again and staying longer as it really seemed to go quickly. The attendant was nice on explaining for those of us who hadn't been their policies and protocols. She also did give a 10 minute heads up before the session was over. Looking online they do offer extended 3 hour "study/work" sessions at a discounted cost. For having 23 cats there it was very clean and pleasant with creative spaces to place litter boxes so cats were comfortable and not over exposed. Was a really great experience and will definitely recommend, as well as go again.

The staff was fantastic and made sure we had a great time. They answered all our questions, and it is clear they take pride in keeping the space clean for guests and the cats. I'm not sure how it would be possible to rate any less than 5 stars. We can't wait to go back!

This is one of my favorite places on the planet. Everyone is so kind, and the kitties are so well cared for. One million star rating!

We brought the granddaughters and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.Madison answered all our questions and provided information and names for all 29 cats. It was an educational and fun activity for us all.

Please do yourself a favor and fire your staff. They are horrendous and doing you and your beautiful kitties a huge disservice. They are rude, bored, uncaring aggravated etc, I can go on for a long time. We went yesterday and I was appalled. Your paying your cat attendant money to sit on her phone, ignoring everyone and the cats, and being super rude, and by the way, not cleaning a single thing. It stunk in there. You will see your cats adoption go up by double and your profit increase by double by starting over with sweet and endearing staff. The front desk girl who took our order acted as if we were annoying her on her break when we arrived. She does an awful job!!! I drove an hour to come here and left early due to how awkward and weird the environment was. Please don't get defensive, just listen to everyone saying how awful the staff is.

I waited in the front of the store for 8 minutes timed it...with no one there..if I was a criminal I couldve robbed the whole store! I even stood there and called the store 4x to see if someone would come answer the phone that was ringing and nothing!!! Finally I saw a worker petting the cats and had to bang on the window to get their attention whereby, the 2 female workers gave me a look like I'm at fault go figure! One gave me a gesture of 1 minute like shes irritated..they weren't helping anyone, werent feeding cats, werent changing litter boxes just sotting there on their phones texting, there was no one else there...Next, the young female worker came inside and said "do u need something?" No hi how are you, I apologize, how may I help you...incredible... so i then told her I wanted to sign up to play with the cats and she literally spun the machine around and made me fill all my info in myself Including my payment info like credit card and expiration!! Im sorry so what do u do to earn your keep?? Ladt I checked you are the employee getting paid im sure at least minimum wage of almost $17 an hour and im doing your job and apparently inconveniencing you from where you were hiding!! Appauled!! Finally went inside to see the kitties who i feel very bad for bc imagine they cant even give their customers attention so why would they give the cats any! And im sorry to say it smelt like pure cat amonia in there! Im a 2x cat owner and I couldn't believe how bad the smell was! So like i said how are the cats needs being met if you cant even meet the paying customers needs...super disappointed and wont ever be returning..the 2 young girls working there were VERY strange and anti social and not friendly at all!! Super strange and non communicable...you are better off going to a shelter to pet and play with a cat..... dont waste your time or money...

What's better than coffee...coffee with cats! Whether you're looking to adopt, study alongside friendly cats or visit to become more comfortable with cats, it's a place worth stopping in! The staff at Mew Haven help find the connection between the cats and the people by bringing them together based on each of their personalities. The cafe (coffee) side is open daily for walk-in orders but you'll need to reserve tickets in advance to hangout with the cats. For their cafe, a highlight is their year round Mr. Kitty Pumpkin Spice Latte or their Ginger Cat Latte (ginger tea and steamed milk). They also offer a variety of baked goods (including GF and Vegan ones). A perk to their ice coffees in the summer are their coffee ice cubes. I did enjoy that they had other non-coffee drinks on their menus to suit those of all ages and preferences. Grab a few goodies too for you friends or cats at home in their café area with some items to purchase.

We had a great visit yesterday! Very clean & fresh-smelling facility with abundant sleeping/perching spots for the cats. We appreciated the details about interaction preferences & the backstory of each cat. Also heartening to hear that the cats are adopted fairly quickly & most don't stay too long. Seamless booking & entry process as well.

Since it has been two weeks since I have seen my babies and I still have one more week to go I searched for a cat cafe and found Mew Haven. This place was very nice. The cat area was very clean and had lots of different activities and spots for the cats. They had some very friendly cats. Several even found a home in someone's lap for their visit. Next time you are looking for something fun to do or even looking for a new fur friend check this place out.

All the staff were rude and not helpful at all. They made asking questions feel uncomfortable. Smelt TERRIBLE. Cat was actively having diarrhea and was not isolated from the rest of the cats. Cat's bum was covered in poop, and my throat tasted bad for hours afterwards. Cats were cute though.

Never been to a cat cafe and it was a great experience. Took a friend's child (7 years old) who can't have a cat due to household members' allergies, so she found this really fun. She liked reading about the cats on the profile wall and matching them up to the cats running around. There are lots of toys provided to entertain the cats with. The cats are all quite approachable and inquisitive. If you weren't a cat lover before, you will be after you leave. The place was also clean and so were the cats. :-) The little store has really cute items to buy as well! I also found the pricing very reasonable, allowing for multiple visits. Would definitely go back!

Took my teen niece visiting from Fla. to visit the cats - it was a lovely way to spend an hour, with a cold beverage from the cafe and a tiger cat who decided my 'pets' were suitable and my lap comfy enough for a few purrs and a long nap! Many of the cats were having a siesta but it was comfy in the rooms, a few played with us, and we had the pleasure of their quiet company. Staff was friendly and I have enjoyed each of my visits.

10/10, please let me keep Tiffany and Mouse. Beautiful cats and great hot chocolate and great service. Most cats were nice. I will come back for Tiffany when I can, if she's still here. Tell Tiffany I miss her. Mew Haven, more like Mew Heaven. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who likes cats

I liked this place in principle, but my experience was rather disappointing. I came on a Friday afternoon with my husband for a 50 minute slot. There were 18 cats when I went, but almost all were sleeping. So there were about 10-12 people all trying to play with the same 3-4 cats that were awake. We also ordered drinks (latte and ginger cat) when we checked-in, but they didn't come out until we were getting ready to leave, 45 minutes later. The ambiance was also weird. The lady at the check-in was friendly, but the staff member in the actual cat part of the cafe not so much. Overall I found the experience awkward and a bit lacking, especially for paying ~$40 ($30 for 2 tickets and $10 for two drinks). I'm happy that others have found cats to adopt from this experience but it wasn't for me.

I love coming to Mew Haven Cat Cafe. It's a relaxed environment that gives me my fill of kitty cuteness. It's a great place to go whether you're looking to adopt or just to play for a bit. Coffee is tasty, too! Definitely recommend!

This place is just cool. Coke here for a date, some coffee, and play with the cats -- heck, even adopt one! This is an awesome idea that brings awareness to pet adoption and absolutely love it!

Place: This place is a cat lady's dream. Each cat has a story and a picture hanging on the wall. They are all adoptable which is the best part. There is two big rooms and seats for people to eat and drink from the cafe. Service: You first enter in the front door and get tickets. Then you go around the back to enter the cat cafe when your appointment time gets closer. You enter the first door and make sure it is closed tight before entering the cat cafe. Don't worry about the instructions because the employees will help with that. Food/price: The price seems reasonable. My friend got me the tickets so I am not sure the exact price. You can also get drinks and food from the cafe too. Audience: With COVID they ask for you to wear a mask and send people in smaller groups. Honestly anyone can enjoy cats young or old. The cats are all different ages and sizes too! Some are so chunky and cute haha. Recommend/tips? I would highly recommend! Some times the it is the cat's nap time so just be weary and respect their sleep hehe.

Came here over the summer as a staycation activity. My 13 month old son was obsessed with our cat but she's not always the most social, so thought that this would be a good place for him. Unfortunately none of the cats were interested in him and since several of them were labeled "spicy" we were worried about letting him get too close. Cool spot, but we didn't stay for our full hour, maybe only 35 minutes or so.

Reservations are needed and easily made online, followed by a release form via email easy peasy. The cat cafe is clean with an abundance of friendly wonderful cats available to adopt. Masks are still needed. The cost is minimal and goes back into supporting these kitties. The counter sells coffee and such if you would like just before you enter the cat space. I highly recommend a visit to this unique space.

What a cute little place!! Their work with a local animal shelter to get these pets adopted while also socializing the cats is such an incredible mission! They were organized and cordial, and the cat room was so sweet! Food and beverage is allowed in the room, so you can either relax as a passive visitor or you can be more active and search out your furry-friends for the day!

Perfect place to meet cats if you're looking to adopt, it can get pretty crowded which seemed to overwhelm and stress the older cats. But overall it's very clean and cute, lots of toys to play with the cats.

This was easily one of the best days I've ever had. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the staff, and of course- the kitties! This is a cats lovers heaven with refreshing drinks, and the cutest cats ever! I can't wait to return :)

Super fun place! The cats are adorable and the staff are super helpful and nice. Obviously be aware that they're animals and not all of them want to be pet, but lots of them are very friendly and sweet!! it's easy to make a reservation online, and you can book an hour with the cats and they'll bring drinks and snacks you order in to you in the cat area. Such a fun way to spend an hour! Tip: the earlier in the day you go, the less fed up the cats will be with being pet :) They also have fun cat-themed merch in the cafe area. definitely a must see for any animal lovers!

This café is the perfect place to go if you love cats, or if you just need a mood-booster. The drinks and snacks are fun and are always being updated, and usually several cats get adopted per week. The employees are also very friendly and willing to give you information about any of the cats that are in the room at that time. They also hold many creative events, such as yoga with cats. They are very good about seeking feedback from their customers on what they'd like to see from the café. This may be the most wholesome business in all of New Haven. It is such a treasure to have something like this in Westville. I've already been here a couple of times, and I definitely plan on coming back!

I love this place! This is my second time coming here. The staff is very kind and you can tell they know about each cat's personality. All the cats are friendly as long as you respect their requested space. If you want to know their name and if/where they like to be pet they have a board that lists their names, photos, and diagram of where they like to be pet. Some like attention more than others but none were mean or aggressive. Me and my cousins bought some pastries and they were all yummy. I like the variety of toys they have. Please make sure you keep an eye on your food or drinks, a mischievous little kitty loved to hop onto the tables to sneak a bite :) P.S. I went around 5 which is when they (for the most part) were waking up from their naps

This was a very good experience and it was fun to see the cats wander around, in their own element. You really got to see how cats do almost everything for their own enjoyment. I liked that all the cats are adoptable, and I appreciated that they treated the new cats with extra care, letting them integrate into the environment naturally. It was a relaxing experience, one that I would take advantage of regularly.

I love this place! I have gone here a handful of times. It is so wonderful having a cat cafe in Connecticut. They have reservations each hour and you can book on line. It starts on the hour and you are there for 50 minutes. You check in in the front section of the building and that is where you can order cafe drinks and treats. When it's the time of your reservation, you bring you drinks into the 2 room section of the building that houses the cats. There is plenty of seating and tables. There are lots of cat toys and of course many cats. We were there New Year's Day and there were about 12 cats to play with. They are up for adoption. You can either consider that or just play with them and leave. Everyone that works there is very nice and you can tell they love being around cats. Wonderful place and the coffee is good too.

They have so many cute kitties! It's a must visit place for all cat owners/lovers. The atmosphere is very paw friendly.
