"Temazcal Tequila Cantina (155 Worcester Rd.) opens Labor Day weekend near the Natick Mall. The sprawling 7,100-square-foot space seats more than 250 and carries on the chain’s tradition of serving a wide selection of tequila, margaritas, and more. The food menu features Mexican dishes, and the restaurant will have a take-out door for easy carryout." - Dana Hatic

Google
Took my daughter out here for a daddy - daughter date. After a long day with my 2 yr old son it was much needed. They made my margarita nice and strong. But strong enough to take the edge off from a long day. Otherwise food was great and everyone was very welcoming. I throughly enjoy any Mexican food. I specifically enjoy their chips and salsa they make.

Google
spend 99$ the employee lady with black hair is very rude i ordered 3 tacos total and she did 3 orders $60 like is the customer always right or not?

Google
A great place to dive into authentic Mexican cuisine. The dishes are fresh and tasty, staff is friendly. My favorite detail - they got pineapple juice. The plate full of corn tortillas willeet at the table, served with hot sauce - sorry I do not know what it is called. And then ... well, being an adult person you will figure out what is that you are going to have for a lunch today. Nearly forgot to mention that this is a good place for a lunch, they always had free tables during a day.

I had the pleasure of dining at Mexicali Cantina Grill in Natick, Massachusetts, with my family for lunch and it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant boasts a colorful atmosphere with different type of Lupita figurines making it very beautiful. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. The cuisine at Mexicali Cantina Grill is truly authentic and flavorful. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican dining experience.

Google
Good Mexican food. Nice decor and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed the fried fish tacos. Cooked to perfection. My brother for a taco salad with grilled chicken and he finished it so it must have been good. Definitely recommend this place.

Google
My family and I went for the 1st time and really enjoyed it. The kids who are somewhat picky enjoyed every bite. And so did we. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and very helpful. We are looking forward to going back.

Google
We placed a delivery order through their preferred method. The order got delayed and then cancelled. Once we phoned to enquire what’s happened, their answer was that they gave it to someone and it wasn’t their problem anymore. End of the story, we have to chargeback through our bank, and also have to cook something out for the evening. It was our first and last time with these guys. Absolutely the worst. Avoid avoid avoid.

Jessica Romeo

Google
Delivery never came through. It was delayed and cancelled after a hour. They don’t take responsibility and advised to contact ChowNow. So not only I have to deal with their mess up, but also need to figure out a dinner out of nowhere. Not a big deal after all but they won’t see me anymore. Don’t recommend.

Yelp
Super cute Mexican place! Staff were so friendly. Chips and salsa come first and it's fantastic. I got the chicken quesadillas and it was good! Service and food was both quick, highly recommend for a quick lunch!

Pam R.

Yelp
Consistently good! Huge menu with all the typical Mexican faves! Chips & salsa to start that is not spicy. We have tried tacos, burritos, pollo in cream, arroz con pollo, salads, quesadillas and more. Everything is full of flavor. We will be back!

Grace M.

Yelp
We love Mexicali Cantina Grill! It's the perfect spot for laid-back, fast, and delicious Mexican food. Whenever we want a last-minute meal out, this is our go-to. The staff is incredibly kind to our kids and always so welcoming. One time, our kids were running around the booth having a blast, and the staff didn't bat an eye. The service is excellent, the food is consistently delicious, and the drinks are strong. If you're dining with kids, you can easily be in and out within an hour.

Kiat C.

Yelp
Never a bad meal here at Mexicali. They are always on point even when it comes to take out ! enchilada plater was wonderful and that hot sauce is great! When walking inside you truly get the Mexican vibe! Well decorated and their bar is a pretty good size and of course the free chips and salsa is always a plus! Servers seem to be happy working there and they were attentive even on my take outorder double checking everything! I'll definitely be back! Ps if you get a chance get the cheese dip and the churros!

Scotty P.

Yelp
The food was a bit bland for us, but the margaritas were great and the staff exceedingly sweet.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch after an appointment at Jesamondo next door and just before embarking on a fairly long drive. I've made the error of not eating before this journey before and I just couldn't live with myself if I spent another drive seriously considering every single McDonald's sign on the route. Mexicali seemed convenient enough so we slid ourselves into two of the seats at the bar. This place is quirkily decorated in a campy, Mexican restaurant kind of way. The bartender, who seemed to be the only person working, was welcoming and respectful and one of the highlights of the experience. You know society is fucked up when someone in hospitality treating you with an ounce of respect is a highlight lmao. Anyways, I started with a michelada and GF with their smoky something margarita. The michelada had a nice umami flavor but was lacking in the.Heat department. I tried GF's smoky something margarita and it was also decent. Although it was a little bit too sweet and "mix-y" for me, I liked the smokiness of the mezcal and overall, where they were going with this. After participating in my fair share of Mexican restaurant dining AND a vegetarian that is way too picky about certain vegetables, I have finally discovered that fajitas and the do-it-yourself aspect is my safest bet. I ordered the veggie fajitas from their very appreciated vegetarian section. GF ordered some fish tacos. Both things were around $15. The fajitas were enjoyable but I had a few issues. Firstly, and I may be off base here, but I was getting frozen veggie mix vibes which, if it is true, is really disappointing for a restaurant. Secondly, the rice provided was completely plain white rice. I had Japanese the night before and had my fair share of that constipating shit. I need the wonderfully seasoned and mouth watering, but still constipating, Mexican rice. Finally, after providing a huge and beautiful platter of sizzling frozen vegetables and another large plate of beans, white rice, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream,, they only gave me THREE tiny tortillas. THREE tortillas? I want to see the owner or manager eat all of that in three small fajita tortillas. Finally, I had to swat a fly away from my food multiple times. I don't think I need to say any more about that. I did really enjoy my meal, it was tasty, but could have been better.

Julia R.

Yelp
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! The food is consistently good, I especially love the enchiladas! The environment is super cute with Mexican decorations and the staff are nice! I would definitely recommend!

Archie W.

Yelp
I only go there when I'm really hungry and I work 16 hour shifts in the hospital. The price for a burrito is a little higher than other places. Customer service is good food is not bad.

Kweilyn C.

Yelp
If you want a cheap, solid meal, in a kid friendly atmosphere (kids menu, crayons and paper to draw on), then try Mexicali. Took my family here for a birthday dinner and while the service was honestly brutal, the food was solid the drinks were lovely and the price points are super fair. The kids had a blast. Pro tip: if you want to embarrass your loved ones (as my family did me), tell them it's that person's bday and they will come make a giant hullabaloo and sing and give you a complimentary sombrero (they have sized for adults and kids). I'd go back but just be patient-- many of the staff don't speak English and things take longer than you'd expect.

Reid N.

Yelp
Delicious food good service and nice ambience. Highly recommended. The street corn was very tasty and my partner loved the chicken tortilla soup.

Angela K.

Yelp
I've only been here once and had a pleasant experience. They immediately sat us and brought us warm chips and salsa. It was a hard decision to pick my meal but I went with 2 enchiladas, one with red sauce and one with a queso like cheese sauce. The cheese sauce one was SO GOOD, like so cheesy and perfect on the enchilada. It also gave them refried beans, rice and a little lettuce and tomato. As you can see the portions are good sized and definitely worth it.

Yelp
We regularly order food from Mexicali Cantina (Natick). Unfortunately about 1 times out of 4, the order that we pick-up is wrong. Most times we take out everything in the bag and discover the error and then wait 10 minutes to get it corrected. Today I spent 7 minutes in traffic in South Natick Sq to get to the restaurant. Because of a crowd of incoming groups, I failed to take every item out of the bag. Naturally the bottom item was not what we ordered, not even close and it was unwanted and worse it was for my spouse. I had to use two separately telephones calling 508/655/5477 to get eventually someone to answer before the totally full voicemail cut off the call. I spent 5 minutes attempting to explain to the person who answered what the problem was and unbelievably she could not understand that I had pre-paid for items in the order which were not provided to us but instead something else which we did not want. Now I have to travel in heavy traffic through Natick some 15 miles round-trip to get what we did order. Order #219561223 Xat #169093 And I was so foolish to have included a TIP in the total cost! Boy was I wrong on that! So I went back, dropped of the wrong entrée, picked up the corrected entrée, and thought that really now, Mexicali owes me for 15 miles at the lowest IRS mileage rate of 14¢/mile = $2.10 !!!!! BTW, the food is excellent but the experience terrible! LESSON LEARNED: You cannot trust Mexicali Cantina to get a take-out order correct!

Jessica S.

Yelp
me my husband and my 18 month old daughter had dinner here on 5/28 and we had the BEST service and some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. Wow Highly recommend

Soul D.

Yelp
One of my favorite Mexican spots in greater Boston! I've been here multiple times with my family. Every visit had impeccable food and service. Last night I had the bacon shrimp tacos which were awesome! They were cooked perfectly and the cilantro-jalapeño sauce added a nice zing. They load you up on the chips and salsa every time. Service is always inviting and friendly. Decor is your classic cantina setting.

Richard L.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food and service very much. We arrived at noon on a Thursday. There were 3 people there. We were given individual bowls of salsa and a heaping basket of tortilIa chips. The salsa was delicious. I ordered the Seafood Chimichanga. It was delicious and came with a plate full of beans. Altogether yummy. The desserts were wonderful. Our group ordered flan, churros, and fried ice cream. The service was very attentive and helpful. They even put up with our attempts at ordering in Spanish. My only criticism is that our food was not as hot as it could have been. The beans were practically room temperature.

Sarah G.

Yelp
Que? Why are the reviews so high for this place? Just no. We sat at the bar for 15 mins before someone even came up to greet us. No one was even here. I thought about going back into the kitchen to see if anyone was even working.

Dj M.

Yelp
Hard to do Mexican food badly, but this place managed it in spades. Fajitas are so basic and simple, I get them specifically because it's hard to mess them up, but this place did. Add to that weak margaritas and bad service. One star well earned.

Samantha C.

Yelp
Came here a couple times since it's opened and I've ordered the same tacos each time. Absolutely love the Bacon Shrimp Tacos here. The soft taco shells are pillowy soft and come out of the kitchen so fresh. I love the bacon pieces you get in every bite. The bacon adds a little saltiness to the shrimp, but it's not over powering. I recommend these tacos to any shrimp lover out there. Highly recommend coming here for birthday celebrations. They will sing to your party like many other restaurants. Only here at Mexicali they add their own twist to it and it's seriously such a fun experience. They also gave us free fried ice Cream to celebrate, which we were interested in trying anyways!!

Matt S.

Yelp
A lot of great menu options and very affordable. Really good chimichangas and tacos. Margaritas were a little watered down for the prices though.

K F.

Yelp
Service was terrible. Hostess nowhere to be found for almost 10 minutes. The waitress hardly came by. I had to ask the hostess twice to find her. My daughter couldn't eat her food. It was inedible. They did not honor my Groupon and couldn't explain why. A waste of time and money. Will not be returning here.

James L.

Yelp
We ate here twice. The first time was a Friday evening and it was busy. The waitstaff was ok. Drinks ok. Food was ok not memorable. Chips and salsa was probably ok because I rate a Mexican restaurant by drinks, salsa and chips and then food and finally service. There's no way we would have come back again if it were like tonight's disaster of a meal. The chips were ok. Salsa was a joke. Like a watery sauce with zero taste. Absolutely none. It was strange. The Margarita had almost no alcohol so we needed to order shots. The waiter didn't know what "straight up" so it meant that I had to explain it multiple times. Maybe that's why the Maragritas were so bad. The waiter seemed to disappear totally and we thought about leaving between courses it was so long. Remember the place was empty. The chicken wings were ok, but the sauce was not on the wing, it was on the side. The celery was old and wilted. The steak fajitas were another disappointment. Tough steak. The re-fried beans was watery. The rice was clumped together, cheese, lettuce, were unceremoniously shoved into a little bowl. So, bad food, bad presentation, and bad service. This was in a totally empty restaurant. We won't be going back.

Paula F.

Yelp
Great food and drinks. Friendly staff and not often a wait. Gluten free fish tacos are a must

Leo S.

Yelp
Went here for Mother's Day and the service, food and ambiance was fantastic. They even gave my wife a rose. Would highly recommend this place.

Amanda C.

Yelp
I thought Mexicali was decent! Came here for lunch on a quiet Wednesday and the inside has some good vibes that lead me to believe nighttime can get lively with a couple of margaritas. I got the veggie bowl which I believe was only $8 and encompassed white rice, grilled veggies, avocado, shredded cheddar cheese, black beans and sour cream. The bowl was a good size, but I feel like lacked any flavor or seasoning. I dumped our salsa from the free chips on mine to give it a little oomph. I wish they had brown rice, and maybe moving forward if an option, I would get refried black beans to at least give the meal some body. Overall though, service was great and I would be interested in coming back to try something else as all of the food of my co-workers did seem to have more flavor and excitement (maybe this is what I get for getting a veggie bowl...).

Mark V.

Yelp
Good margarita, nice meal with lots of veggies and shrimp and pleasant staff. Got to sit outside on a nice evening and enjoyed the company of my son, daughter in law and their new baby!

Nancy D.

Yelp
My grandson and i had the best time on our cinco de mayo date night at Mexicali. The sample appetizer was a perfect choice because each of the many choices were delicious and fun to eat. My steak fajita was tender, flavorful hot and delicious with rice, refried beans guacamole and sour cream. My grandson got the Mexicali burrito and ate every bite and it was huge. We chose three desserts, ate the fried ice cream but had to take the churros and cinnamon sugar fried dough home. The service was outstanding on such a busy night! We had a great date, thanks Mexicali!

Michi W.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican food we've had in the area! We're originally from the west coast & my husband & I both lived in Southern California for many years, so we've really been missing good Mexican food since we moved to New England. We came here on a whim & are so pleased that we did! What a find! My salmon tacos were so fresh & delicious. Others in my party ordered steak fajitas, the fajita melt sandwich & the fajita quesadilla & all loved their food! The salsa & guacamole is also so good & extremely fresh! We'll definitely be back!

David W.

Yelp
Service is starting to be terrible on Sunday nights. No Manager around, I guess. No table bussing either, and no refills for a whole table of empty glasses. Sadly, since we go here a lot...the last two visits have been lacking in any attentive service. I'm not going to go into the details here, but would it would be nice if someone was in charge. We have been approximately 12 times, with no less than six people each time. Our bill is always $100+, expected, but the lack of service when is not busy is troubling. So I dropped my rating from 4stars to 3.

Dhilip R.

Yelp
Visited this place for team outing. Friendly and accommodating staff. Loved the combo dish. Was able to check out most of the dishes through that. Got the combo with 3 dishes - chicken chimichanga, chilli releno, and chicken tamale. Loved the coconut margarita.

Sarah O.

Yelp
Food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are all solid - HOWEVER, all 3 times we have come here, we've been charged for drinks we didn't order. Double check your receipts - We really enjoyed this spot but the fact that we repeatedly were overcharged really left a bad taste in our mouths.

Alex B.

Yelp
Worst service I have had in a long time. The staff despite a nearly empty restaurant were extremely slow and inhospitable. I waited 57 minutes for a called in to go order (total of 1:12 from time of call) Rude and seemed to avoid coming to the front to give updates. I will never order from here again. Shame on me for not leaving but I needed to bring home food for the kids.

C E.

Yelp
There are better places. We ate here about 5 years ago when they first opened. The meal was bland, uninteresting. We passed it off to their just having opened and had not fully geared up in the kitchen. Last night we decided to give them another try. Bad idea. Nice staff. Very Mexican decore but again..the food was bland. Run of the mill, lacking any sense of flavor or Southwestern spice as one would expect. Worst: My wife woke in the night with acid reflux and retching. Nope. Never again.

Dipesh P.

Yelp
Great Mexican food. Got the combo trio. Got vegetarian option. Delicious. Also got a brownie. Couldn't wait to eat it.

Anuja K.

Yelp
A nice family friendly place near Natick and Wellesley. The decor is trying to be authentic mexican but is not really there. We were served chips + salsa when we arrived. The salsa was chilled, well seasoned and there was a mild and hot option. The next were the drinks, I got a coconut margarita which was very tropical in flavor and had shreds of coconut in it. My sister got the original and my cousin got a sangria. The sangria was lack lustre but otherwise the drinks come in big fancy glasses and have a decent amount of alcohol. The menu is huge which numerous options, both for meat eaters and vegetarians. They have a special section for vegetarian entrees which feature non seasoned rice (as usually the seasoned rice has chicken stock) and black beans. The fajitas that I got were a good size, lot of veggies on a sizzler plate and were not greasy. The guac, cheese and beans were good too. I was pleasantly surprised to see the portion sizes and how each entree and kids meal incorporated a lot of vegetables. My family got some shrimp and chicken based entrees and they all seemed to enjoy it and did comment that the meat was well cooked and still juicy and tender. Overall a nice anerican-mexican restaurant, good for families and people of all ages.

Katy C.

Yelp
Ate outside! Lots of nice tables and music. Train going past was a plus for my kids! Great service and excellent food. We will be back

Rose F.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised. The food at Mexicali was hearty, homey, and authentic. It's nothing fancy, but a great spot for large dishes and good flavors. Drinks are sizable and a good price!

Geoff m.

Yelp
Please tell the owners of Mexicali Grill that chiles, spices, and a lil heat are core parts of Mexican Cuisine!!! Even bad Sonoran food is spicier than this. Used to think that Margheritas was the worst mexican food in the Metrowest but this meal made Taco Bell taste appetizing. On a thursday night around 630pm. Fairly crowded in the Dining room so we sat near the bar. Chips were under salted and the salsa (if you can call it that ) was like tomato soup with a lil heat and soggy pieces of tomato. Had to add hot sauce to make it palatable and give it some acid. How difficult is it to make pico di gallo at each location? Ordered Taquitos as an app. Very greasy, oily small taquitos stuffed with totally soggy and tasteless pulled chicken. Luckily there was pre-made Guacamole which saved the day. This was probably the best dish of the night. We ordered 2 combo plates - 1 with a chile relleno and a chicken mole enchilada and the second with a tamale and a taco al pastor. Every component of both meals tasted exactly alike. The chile relleno was soggy with absolutely no taste and the Mole sauce was devoid of any complex spices or real Mole character. You can buy pre-made mole at Stop and Shop that is tastier than this bland sauce. The tamale was rock hard (microwaved ?) and tasteless and the al pastor was nothing like any al pastor I have ever eaten. The meat is supposed to be like a middle eastern schwarma. After all, it was the lebanese who brought the idea to Mexico when they emigrated there. Meat stacked on a rotisserie with a pineapple on top and a great balance of spicy, acid, and pork. The meat is normally sliced like a gyros. This dish was just stringy pulled pork with absolutely no taste. Pineapple, Forget about it. The rice and beans were also bland and the menu states they used cojita cheese. All there was was monterey jack melted over. No salt, and definitely no spices. Mexicali Grill is dull bland americanized food. There are many other options in the area who make real Mexican.

Jess C.

Yelp
Carne Asada tacos. The steak was nice and tender. Every bite was so juicy. Topped with cabbage and pineapple to balanced out the saltiness from the meat. The rice was full of flavor, which worked perfect with the naked black beans. I could eat this everyday. Delicious!!! O yes, and the staff. Greeted right when we walked it. Super friendly and attentive if you needed anything. Locally owned which makes it even better!!

Chris L.

Yelp
Great addition to Natick, especially downtown area - not too many other places to get 'authentic' Mexican cuisine in Natick excluding Framingham or even Ashland! Friendly and responsive service while family owned restaurant company with locations throughout MA. All items at lunch are very well priced & large portion size! Recommend tasty enchiladas, burritos, fish tacos, and a good deal / happy hour specials - can't go wrong with a Corona or Margarita!

Doug D.

Yelp
Great new addition to NATick dining! They did a nice job renovating the place inside. Great bar area, colorful atmosphere. The outside is dated, but plenty of parking. Fresh chips and salsa were great. Our food was great too. Tortilla soup, chicken tacos and quesadillas were all good. The chicken in each dish was juicy and plentiful. Really, my only critique would be the service was a bit slow. This will be on our restaurant rotation for sure.

Mister T.

Yelp
This is a solid addition to the limited restaurants in the Natick downtown area. This is a great spot for families with kids. If you think you are getting authentic mexican food maybe don't come here. The food is what you would expect from a mexican style american family restaurant. They have fish tacos which is a plus, not every mexican spot around here has that option. The service is quick and friendly. We came here on a friday evening and the bar and seating area was packed. That is always a good sign. Nice to replace the place that was here before as that place didn't seem overly welcoming.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I recently tried the Mexicali Grill in Natick. The chips and salsa they bring to the table to start, as well as the Guacamole Fresco we ordered, tasted very fresh and flavorful. I had the Veggie Quesadilla and it was chock full of mixed vegetables which I loved. The Margaritas were tasty and the bar area is large and inviting. The decor is festive and tasteful with beautiful mosaics and wrought iron metal wall designs. The food was very good and the service was good. I'll definitely be back. 'Don't forget to bring your AAA card for 15% off your total food bill.

Yelp
Mexicali Grill is part of a small chain of standard suburban Mexican restaurants catering to the local indigenous population. Did not see too many Hispanic guests when we were there. Extremely friendly waitstaff, but they need more experience. The salsa is in serious need of help. Very watery. I splashed some on my shirt when I tried to scoop it up with my tortilla chip. The sauces were not as goopy and overwhelming as in most Mexican restaurants, but hardly refined. A pork filled tamale found the shredded pork inside to be a bit chewy, but the tamale itself was very good. A chile relleno has a nice bite and a delicious cheese filling. Excellent selection of Mexican beers and high end tequilas. Very attractive, if kitschy space. Still plenty of time to get their act together with a little tweaking regarding service, salsa and authenticity. It would be nice not to have to go to Texas, California , Arizona, or Mexico for really good Mexican food. Natick is much closer to my house.

Wally C.

Yelp
This restaurant has been opened since May 2018 I wasn't aware they were there but I was nicely surprised, the restaurant is very opened and well staffed, our wait time was zero we went on a sunday evening, huge list of margaritas to chose from, the menu is well stocked, i had the trio enchiladas, they were cheesy, gooey warm and delicious, we were not a fan of the salsa they served with the chips, it had too much black pepper or something like that. My husband had chicken fajita quesadilla, it was a huge portion warm and delicious, we will be back!

Anthony C.

Yelp
I've tried Mexicali a few times over the past few months. I would say that this place has a very comforting feel to it, staff seems to always be nice, and dining in is just as good as take out. My favorite foods here are: mole sauce queso steak enchilada with mole flan flan has a great texture and is not too sweet. steak enchiladas have what looks to be flank steak and is full of steak, they don't skimp. i love their mole sauce, it's more of a mole negro or mole vera cruz. nice. queso is great with their chips, which looks like they make themselves. i also tried their sampler appetizer and thought everything was OK. it was a lot of food so the value is there. The only thing I haven't liked so far was their mini chimichangas. The ones that came in the sampler were very fried until completely dried out and not very edible.

Robin J.

Yelp
It's insanely good! Just an awesome place and location is great. Front of the house needs some polishing. They'd benefit from hiring a manager with lots of experience in the dining room. Back of the house kills it every time!! Having worked in the industry I can say, buss your tables, pay attention to details! No dirty tables, no dirty water and put a little hustle in the wait staff. They seem half asleep Update: food is still insanely fresh and good. Burrito bowl is high end paired with margarita and your chilling. This place is authentic and top notch on food quality.

Beatriz A.

Yelp
Drop whatever you're doing now and seriously go treat yourself and have a margarita!!! Hands down Mexicali has some of the best outgoing bartenders in area! Amazing vibes throughout the resturant with welcoming and friendly staff. This is definitely the place I would want to go out to with my friends and have a couple drinks at the bar for a Thursday night, rather than going all the way to Boston! They have big screens all over the bar area so this will be an amazing spot to go watch games!! Also the food here is beyond FANTASTIC! If you love authentic Mexican food this is the spot to go to! From all the times I've been there I have tried a variety of their tacos and enchiladas and I have not been dissatisfied ONCE! Did I forget to mention that they have amazing fresh guac?!!

Elvis M.

Yelp
Food had no flavor, we wer expecting authentic Mexican food but instead we got taco bell food.

Cheryl J.

Yelp
Having fun with my co-workers!! Friendly atmosphere and people!! Great place for a group!
