A Running List of Restaurants That Closed in New York City, February 2021 - Eater NY

"East Village: Meyhane, a Mediterranean-style tapas restaurant on Second Avenue, has permanently closed. The restaurant opened under the name Medina’s Turkish Kitchen in August 2019 and, as noted by neighborhood blog EV Grieve, rebranded as Meyhane sometime during its one-and-a-half-year tenure." - Luke Fortney

Small mom & pop shop with great Mediterranean food. The octopus entree was delicious. The shish kebob was really good. The lamb was amazing as well. We all loved our food & the service was great.

Meyhane was recommended by an NYU professor who frequents the original outpost in New Jersey. I met some friends there for Mediterranean style tapas and we were quite happy with the service, food quality, portions and the outstanding service. I thoroughly enjoyed both the red cabbage and spinach tarator, as well as the labne, olives, feta and a few shrimp dishes.

Heavy on the meat options, as a vegetarian you're left with the appetizers, which are quite good. Unfortunately, they cannot comprehend delivery instructions, sending unwanted plastic forks etc with your order.

I dont know why people recommend this place so much but our experience was horrible. “Meze’s” were so bad and had an average taste, the meats we ordered were not cooked at all and raw!! The deserts promised in fix menu never arrived.. so many missing things from a “traditional turkish meyhane food”... the only good thing was the kind servers and the musician. Think twice before going this place. Not recommended.

Literally Iam there every weekend. I love this place ,I love their big delicious portions, the prices so good for what you get ,the atmosphere is so lovely especially on saturdays that they have live music and the staff so friendly. I’d definitely recommend and give it 5 ⭐️ .

Authentic Turkish cuisine. Lack of Turkish wines is quite disappointing though.
