This place is a true gem! A real oasis in a desert of culture. Located in a shopping center, the entry is tucked away around a corner. It opens in to pure atmosphere and a relaxing setting. I was amazed at my visit. I've heard about this place and seen it tagged in my friends posts for years. It delivered in quality on every aspect in the posts I had seen! The customer service was on point! They let me procrastinate for a long time without rushing me. They suggested items and talked about their favorites. My first cup was a Cafe Latte. It was incredible! I'm not a coffee drinker. So it takes a lot to impress me. I was IMPRESSED. My second cup was a Breve. It also was wonderful. The food was top notch. I did not eat, but my friend and table mates did. They have an outdoor area with tables in front and out back. There is ample seating and even a bookable meeting room! This place has mega urban coffee atmosphere! You could easily slide this in to a neighborhood in Denver or San Francisco and it would fit perfectly!

I had to be productive in between appointments. It was the Perfect place to eat, grab some coffee and finish up some work on my laptop.

Girlfriend and I discovered this coffee place last weekend (8/2/25), and we LOVE everything about Mezamiz Coffee House 🥰 Definitely will return.

Google
Way too expensive plus it takes forever to get your order. We’ve been twice and the exact same thing happens, the first person is done eating by the time the second person gets their food. $40 for two people to get a coffee and a small snack.

Google
Was hesitant since they underwent new ownership last year, and was pleasantly surprised to see not much had changed. The drinks have been so good. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his salad, and my grilled cheese and tomato basil was so good, I ordered it again to take to work with me the next day. Straight up best tomato soup I've ever had.

Google
Mezamiz Coffee House was fantastic. Chill atmosphere, Friendly and Knowledgeable staff. The food was Fresh and fantastic. I highly recommend the sandwiches or even the spicy hummus. Which, I believe now is my favorite hummus of all time. I have a picture attached of the hummus. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the sandwich as I already devoured it before taking a picture of it. 🤣😅 We definitely will be back in the future to eat at this establishment. Thank you!

I have lived in Austin for 10 years and unfortunately had forgotten all about Mezamiz. We were visiting my parents last weekend and they no longer keep caffeinated coffee. Naturally I was dying. Mezamiz is the closest coffee to their house and I was so pleasantly surprised that it is as charming as ever! I'll never visit again without stopping in for a.m. coffee and honestly might stay a while for the vibe and to probably read a book.

Google
This is an excellent place with a great location. The courtyard features outdoor seating and is cozy. The inside of the place is very cozy and the coffee is good too. The food is very overpriced, but the coffee is reasonable. Free Wi-Fi.

Yelp
This is a cozy little coffee house with some secluded areas and a private room where I had a club meeting. Service here is superb! Fast, efficient and friendly. I ordered a turkey sandwich that was excellent and came with potato chips. I think there were other options if chips are not your thing. Later, I had a chocolate chip muffin which they heated up for me. It was very good too. I'm looking forward to returning here and maybe I will remember to snap a photo of my food to share with you all :-)

Yelp
The two stars is for the environment, it's very cute! Everything beyond that is genuinely disappointing for its price. I paid $5 for a latte with unstirred syrup at the bottom, and over $10 for a sad looking grilled cheese. Wanted to love it, but very underwhelming.

Yelp
They roast their own beans so you know they're legit! Coffee is great, especially their frappes. Outside, they have a patio you can sit at where you can relax and look at the trees up from above. Their bathrooms are very clean as well. Food isn't bad for a coffee shop too! Great place to just chill or study!

Yelp
Mezzanine is my favorite coffee shop in Abilene! I have yet to try anything off of their menu that I didn't like and everything is decently priced
google avatar

Kai M.

Yelp
The food is delicious, the service is fast, and the whole ambiance is so cozy and chill! I do wish they would have a little bit more gluten free food. Otherwise absolutely amazing!

Ryland L.

Yelp
I decided to try the location in the Abilene mall, with my two sons. The atmosphere was tense at this location, as well as the service being mediocre. I overheard the staff in the location, talking very inappropriately and it was very off putting especially with my young sons there. The food was great, although the staffing at this location is questionable. The staff here were rude, unwelcoming, and incredibly unprofessional. I would give it 5 stars for the food, but because of the staff I'll have to drop the rating.

Don P.

Yelp
I don't get to go by as often as I'd like but this is the BEST coffee shop in town. Wonderful atmosphere with a lovely view of the creek from the balcony. If you have not been, you owe it to yourself to go.

Yelp
Super good food with a cool atmosphere. Gotta get the poppin grilled cheese. It's a hidden gem for sure.

Yelp
This local coffee house is comfy and quaint! The drinks are great and service is pleasant. Great to be in this neighborhood!!

Yelp
Nice people, good coffee, and a really good Ruben sandwich. My friend really likes the potatoe soup.

Yelp
Mezamiz, I love you. So much. What a great spot in Abilene. Got the turkey sandwich with the chicken poblano soup--so cozy and yum! Had some sunchips too! You pick your bread and dressing. I also got the red eye with some soy milk. They have SUCH an extensive list of SF flavors and I just love that so so much. I love SF flavors--get the sweets without the calories! The coffee was SO SO good. Like legit great beans. I got the light roast. It was so good I went out of my way to get another coffee the next day! They were offering a student discount when we went and I think they also have a military discount as well. They also have wine and beer and cute little Knick knacks around the shop. My only complaint is that it's a little bit small for as many people that come to the shop! I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area.

Celine N.

Yelp
I couldn't ask for a place with a better atmosphere, staff, or menu. Finding a place to study has been a struggle, but Mezamiz has been the perfect place to get work done, enjoy a delicious drink, and unwind. They deserve every star.

Yelp
This coffee place feels like you're not even in Abilene anymore. It's quiet. They have good food and drinks plus great service!
google avatar

Misty B.

Yelp
A good place to grab a coffee and hang out for a bit or to grab lunch. My husband and I like spankys club and the chicken melt. Their iced coffee is different than anywhere else I've had, it comes pre-sweetened and with cream but it's delicious! Some days the sodas are flat but they'll swap it for an iced tea which is pretty good too.
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
A nice little place serving some tasty beverages in a classy neighborhood. You should come
google avatar

Dale T.

Yelp
Great service. I come here every once in a while to play board games with friends and every time we're greeted with smiling faces and great customer service. I would for sure recommend this place. Plus the food is great too
google avatar

Rhonda R.

Yelp
In town from KC. They don't open til 2:00pm on Friday. But maps don't know that. Don't know if the coffee is good cuz I had to go somewhere else.

Yelp
A little hard to find gem in Abilene. Great coffee and atmosphere. Worth the effort of finding it.

Yelp
One of the three best coffee shops in Abilene, IMO. Tuesday nights have live music performances, and outdoor seating on the deck and in the plaza area really set this coffee shop apart from competitors. The menu boasts a wide variety of coffees, teas, and other drinks, and I have yet to order a drink that disappointed. My only slight complaint would be that cold drinks are sometimes made with a bit more ice than I prefer, but that's really just a matter of preference. The baristas are quick and friendly. The inside of the shop hosts many different seating options, including cozy couches and other upholstered seats, wooden chairs, benches, and outdoor seats. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop to anyone.

Doug T.

Yelp
Great place !! Love the setting and service but food was outstanding!! Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Eatin O.

Yelp
Good coffee at a reasonable price, though the person who served me seemed very easily confused by simple questions, like "Where is the cream?" They no longer have half and half available for prepping your coffee unless you ask, they have the little warmish takeout cream, which fyi, isn't actually dairy.
google avatar

Yelp
Great local coffee shop with lots of space - you are not on top of one another and can carry on a conversation. Coffee is some of the best in town.

Yelp
As most of you know my drug of chose is Coffee, That said, I've been to Mezamiz Coffee House several times over the years. My latest visit was a spur of the moment thing. Wanted to stop in and give a few handshakes & Hello's to people on South 7th Street. Mezamiz's is a wonderful change from the big box factory coffee shops you get shoved down your neck everyday that charges you $4 for a cup of java. They offer an endless cup of coffee or a two cup. I went with the two cup, for around $2.35ish, .45 more for the endless... I'm sure if I had wanted a 3rd cup I could have pulled it off, but. I'm not that kind a guy. For the regular coffee they give you a cup you go to the station and pump the cup full. The coffee was not as hot as I would have liked but overall not unhappy with my visit. I'll be back again look forward to seeing you there

Yelp
Such a cute and eclectic little spot in a random part of Abilene, both inside and the outdoor patio! Great place for alone time or even a date or friend meet up.
google avatar

Garry H.

Yelp
Great place to go and relax with a cup of coffee. Outside deck is great in the afternoon when the sun has passed. Gets pretty noisy when they are busy, but a really good local place.
google avatar

Jed M.

Yelp
Very cool place! Good atmosphere and the menu is pretty impressive for a coffee shop. They even serve alcohol. I got the lemonade and wanted to be impressed but I saw them pour it out of a store-bought lemonade carton :-( So why four stars? Atmosphere mainly, plus the options, and people say the coffee is good, and I had a sangwich and I ate every crumb. And I just liked it, so leave me alone.
google avatar

Miriam B.

Yelp
They serve beer and wine and play Phil Collins 'Easy Lover'. Oh yeah, there's coffee too. Not great coffee, just coffee that says to your brain...I think it's time to wake up. Lunch can be pricey for what you get so keep your hopes and excitements about this quaint place in check. On the brighter side, they often have live music so it can be an alternative to a night out at the bars. (If your friends agree to stimulating conversation and scrabble over shots of fireball.) It's vintage Abilene and everyone should come here every once in a while.

Megan S.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere! Very cozy. The staff is always friendly and the food/drinks are always great. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Drip coffee was good, and they have a chocolate mocha thing that is addictive. I'd go back just for that. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla... just a regular small store tortilla and some ingredients crumbled in... I'll stick with the mocha!
google avatar

Yelp
The girls at the counter were very cordial and offered several good choices. I ended up with gregs club and changed it to croissant as suggested by one the girls. You have several choices of sides to go on your club. I chose honey mustard. Pleasant environment as well. College students and elder couples both mingle well together. I couldn't concentrate listening to conversation as Michael Jackson's "beat it" played overhead, but hey, it's MJ! Plenty of artwork that resembled much of my uncles art. (Russell Ellison). I will make a return trip. It's been years since I stepped inside.

Kim C.

Yelp
Quirky little coffee shop in a residential neighborhood. Cool outdoor patio to sit and read, study or relax while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee.

Matt S.

Yelp
Ok. There is something i love about this place that I doubt anyone else appreciates. They have cute Salt & Pepper shakers. My grandmother had a collection when I was a kid and it instantly brought back memories. I had a double shot cappuccino which was solid. Served in a real mug. This place has the feel of a 90s. Coffee shop and I love it. I had a veggie on rye. Very good. I will be back here for sure
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years! I liked it way back when but I think it has improved some even since then. Good selection of coffee, tea, and beer. Lots of food choices as well. Good service. Friendly comfortable atmosphere. Live music on the weekends. A great place to just kick back!
google avatar

Aurora S.

Yelp
The woman who helped us at the counter was incredibly rude and short with us, coffee was terrible. Really created a terrible environment will not be coming again I waste 9.00 and 10 minutes of my life to get treated like garbage
google avatar

Yelp
I would really like to give Mezamiz more than two stars, but after three trips there, that is the best I can give them. My girlfriends and I like to meet there about once a month on a Saturday morning to catch up. We don't like going to Starbucks because it's far more expensive and we like to support our local places. The drinks are pretty standard, but good and inexpensive, but it's always so unorganized. Nobody greets you when you come in and you have to stand at the counter to even have an employee notice you. And then you wait and wait and wait for your drink/food, and they never come out together. My friend ordered a dirty chai and and English muffin, and the muffin came out very quickly but she waited another 40 minutes for her drink and it arrived cold. There was never an apology offered from the staff, and the girl who was working was unfriendly and short with us.
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably the most underestimated place in Abilene. Definitely a hidden gem! My mom and I have been across Abilene trying to find a great place for lunches in town and this place is on point. It is perfect for a girls lunch as well as an afternoon for a men's group' They truly value their customers and the service was great! We ate sandwiches, and they were delicious but we are looking forward to going back and branching out with their food and the coffee/wine selections. There is honestly something for everyone on their menu. If you are tired of searching for somewhere to eat with your friends or family... COME HERE! I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The GOOD: -- very nice decor and a inviting atmosphere. i could easily spend a whole day here. -- good drinks with good prices. -- free wi-fi -- variety of seating options. large tables if you want to spread your stuff out as well as sofa area if you want to just lounge and chat. The BAD: -- wi-fi can be a bit slow which can get frustrating -- the food isn't too great. sandwiches are tiny and the soup is too greasy and bland -- ordering can be slow. when I was there, only one girl was working the counter and she would take an order as well as fill the order before taking the next order. should have 2 people working the counter; one ot take the order and the other making the drinks. Overall, it's a very nice coffee joint. I'd rather support these local joints then at over-priced, over-rated, over-hyped Starbucks.
google avatar

Kristian S.

Yelp
I usually love this place and recommend it to anyone, just the last two time i got delivery though arrowhead i will pay extra for the chips and pickle and both times got no pickle. This time as well as no pickle i got the spankys toasted... but it wasn't toasted and pretty sure i just got white bread when i asked for Sourdough. I feel like the last few times the sandwiches have been smaller just doesn't seem worth it anymore.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Been coming here for years! The coffee is always hot and fresh, and their Ruben sandwiches are out of this world. The only reason that it didn't get five stars is because the Wi-Fi CRAWLS by. I think it would benefit them to update their connection! Here's hoping! But all in all, a great, cozy place to chillax with a good cup of coffee and some friends. Oh, and it's WAYYYYY cheaper than Starbucks. Two thumbs up!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to come to when needing to catch up with an old friend, reading that new Harry Potter book, or cramming before that big test tomorrow. Arrive around 5 and stayed for 5 hours whilst writing an essay for a class- throughout my time here I ordered a few menu items(love that they have real food to sell not like other coffee type shops I've been to)- and the staff was very welcoming, friendly, and even helped me out in deciding on which sweet to get for the night as a reward after a day full of writing. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
I was stopping by in the way to Dallas,TX. The coffee shop is very nice and warm. The coffee and drinks are delicious. I was impress to see this exotic coffee shop in this small town.
google avatar

Ron D.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in Abilene. Nice atmosphere, good chai and italian sodas. Not a huge menu, but you can feed yourself if you go there and code all day like I do sometimes. It's quite popular at lunch and dinner time.
google avatar

Jim S.

Yelp
I love this place! As a writer, I look for comfortable spots where I can plop down with my laptop and work. Mezamiz has lots of different places to do that including a courtyard patio and a rear deck overlooking lush landscaping, besides all the chairs and couches inside. It kind of reminds me of the funky little cafés and restaurants from my hippy days in the 70s.
google avatar

Kathleen T.

Yelp
This place has the best Chai tea I've ever tasted and I have tried them all over Texas but no place could match the quality here!
google avatar

Cat F.

Yelp
I like this place. Groovy local coffee house BUT the service is slooooow every single time I go. I stick to the brewed coffee- I have not had any of the "fancy" drinks there- so I can't comment on them. It's cool to have it in our neighborhood and I like that we can stumble over for a beer or a glass of wine. I also like that it has inside seating so I can duck in for meetings with clients. I should add that the art on the walls is always changing and always super cool!
google avatar

Rafael G.

Yelp
I needed a place to study for promotion, seeing as there are no places on base anymore. I found Mezamiz! The atmosphere and service is great, it's not loud, my snack was delicious and the coffee hit the spot. They have a bottomless coffee that I jumped on seeing as the material I'm studying is really zzzzzz. I will be going there more often.
google avatar

Geanna C.

Yelp
Patio seating is really nice on pretty days!! Try the Italian Panini! I've not made it to happy hour yet but, hear that the music on the patio is fun!
google avatar

Yelp
I just had the BEST BLT I've had in a very long time!! Everything was so fresh from the tomato to the croissant! A quaint, charming little place I highly recommend!!

Yelp
I found everything about this coffeehouse to be pleasant. The entrance is tucked away behind the front of the building, in a cute little courtyard with tables and benches. The interior of the shop is medium sized (compared to other coffee houses in town, but it's cozy inside and the seating isn't too cramped. We tried several different lattes and I thought they all rated very good--not too sweet either. My personal favorite was the Royal Breve latte with honey. We haven't tried the food yet, but it smelled very good when we first walked in and the plates that the people next to us ordered made me envious. This is a place where I could really enjoy just coming in for a coffee and getting some work done. I highly recommend coming here.
