Californian Ghost Kitchen Man vs. Fries Takes on Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Operating out of Q-ZN as well, Mezzmiz is described briefly as a Lebanese cuisine purveyor among the facility's roster of ghost kitchens." - Valerie Silva

Tried the chicken and beef bowl and it was excellent! The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and full of authentic Lebanese flavors. Portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the balance of spices was just right. Very satisfying meal — would definitely order again.

Yesterday, I had the chance to discover a new venue that serves delicious Lebanese cuisine. Mezzmiz is minutes away from our new office, a little up on Crescent Street, north of Ste-Catherine (that’s towards Sherbrooke). To say it was good isn’t doing it justice. A rainbow of flavours and texture, wrapped in a quaint ambiance. Definitely going back soon!

We ordered the four-item mix plate with potatoes, hummus, tabbouli, and falafel. The taste, portions, and presentation were all very good for the price. Service was friendly and attentive, which added to the experience. The only area for improvement was the bread. We received plain white pita instead of the type pictured on the menu, and it wasn’t fresh or warm. Fresh, warm pita would really elevate the meal. Overall, I recommend this Lebanese restaurant and would happily come back.

Just had an amazing experience at Mezzmiz! The food was absolutely delicious, super fresh and flavorful — honestly some of the best I’ve had in Montréal. The staff were so kind and attentive, especially (I think) the manager/owner. He personally came by to check if we needed anything, made sure we were taken care of, and even surprised us with a free dessert on the house. That level of hospitality made the night feel so special. Can’t recommend this place enough — I’ll definitely be coming back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely phenomenal experience at Mezzmiz! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a cozy, elegant ambiance that set the tone for a perfect evening. The food was nothing short of spectacular — fresh, authentic Lebanese flavors that reminded me of home. Every dish, from the perfectly spiced kebabs to the creamy hummus and crispy falafel, was prepared with care and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. The cocktail and wine selection also complemented the meal wonderfully. Whether you're familiar with Lebanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, Mezzmiz is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended!

We loved the hummus here! We ordered here two nights in a row to enjoy the hummus and other Lebanese dishes. Collectively we enjoyed the hummus, Za'atar bread, tabboulé salad, kibbeh, falafel, chicken tomb pickles wrap, lemon confit chicken, and mouhalabeye pudding. Everything was yummy and we will likely come back here again next time we are in Montreal.

I tried Mezzmiz in Montreal and ordered the kafta sandwich, well cooked, with creamy hummus, tomates, onions and parsley though it could use a bit more spices. Took the combo with potato cubes and garlic paste, and a fresh lemonade with rose water, the lemonade was a super choice. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s a self-service spot, reasonably priced, and they also sell Lebanese mouneh (olives, stuffed eggplants) books, and art printed pieces. Nice overall experience!

I have to give credit where it’s due — the food at Mezzmiz is absolutely amazing. The quality of the ingredients, the freshness, and the way each dish is prepared really stands out. Every bite is packed with flavor, and the consistency keeps me coming back for more. It’s a true taste bud celebration!

Yelp
Wonderful find. Welcome was warm and helpful. It's a little oasis in the city with lovely decor. Falafel and kofta bowls were both delicious, full of so many wonderful flavors. Come and try it!

Yelp
Came here for dinner after seeing the rave reviews. Perhaps they recently cut down the menu but the restaurant had a lot less offering compared to the larger menu I saw online. Decided on "Les Mezz-Plateaux, plateau de 6" to split between two ppl. It's a set menu that comes with hummus, taboulé, mouhammara, and zaatar potatos with choice on the protein and dessert. We chose the shawarma mignon for protein and almond and apricot for dessert. The food presents well aesthetically and appears fresh but nothing stood out to me taste wise. The pita was not made in-store, it was the store-bought pita pocket type and not even warmed up. Total came to $41 not incl tips. We added tip on top even though we shouldn't have, as you grab the food yourself from the counter. I wanted to like this place but sadly it was mediocre at best.

Yelp
Walking on the busiest street downtown montreal looking for a late night snack and stumbled upon this amazing middle eastern restaurant. I was very intrigued by the menu as it looked delicious and it was so busy lots of people ordering here. I do believe it's the most authentic Lebanese restaurant I have been to and the flavours are super are just exquisite!! We decided to give this place a go. First off, I must say the service: was amazing we felt like extended family here we were treated super nicely and they just kept feeding us and talking to us about their story and how all the recipes are from Lebanon. Service: A1 top top top can't get any better. It's a mom and pop shop they have one joint already open in the time out market and decided to open up on Crescent street. Ambiance: I love the vibe of this one actually and it's not a franchise which I really loved about this restaurant and the middle eastern culture and music. Food: The Roasted cauliflower was my absolute favourite dish it was insanely crispy and delicious, the shawarma was so tender and the beef shawarma was amazing everything was amazing and tender The Hummus another favourite so creamy and so delicious one of the best hummus I have tasted in montreal! We bought an Olive jar come from Lebanon wow was it amazing i was in love with how fresh and delicious the olives were. The zaatar pita was crispy and fluffy perfect to dip your cold mezzes !? Mmmmm Everything here was to die for. I absolutely loved this place and will come back here again without a doubt ! This was super delicious and 100% recommend

Yelp
Was walking down crescent street and noticed this new place. Bright clean and welcoming. This is a new fresh, clean Mediterranean restaurant. The owner and his staff of welcoming and friendly and are there to explain the menu and even gave us some sample to try. First dish was the hummus. It reminded me when I was back touring the Middle East. The hummus was so fresh and you can taste the ingredients with a hint of lemon juice. It was so good we order another one. Second dish Muhuhammara This is a dish with garlic, pepper, walnuts and outlive oil. This was a hit. I could not believe how good it tasted and how fresh it tatsted Third Roasted cauliflower This is one of my favorite things to eat and they did it perfectly. Roasted and seasoned just the way I like it. They put a touch of tahini on top. I would of gotten more but they sold out. 4th dish Grilled chicken in lemon Usually the chicken is dry. Not here it was supper moist and the Lemmon sauce was right on point. Not to overpowering. It blended well with all the spicies. This is a must try if you like Mediterranean food. not only is the food amazing the staff go out of the way to make you feel welcome

Yelp
I would have added a photo but the food was so good we could not wait. The Classic Mezza Tray Lemon Confit Chicken was delicious. It came hummus, tabouret salad, and we selected the potatoes fried pices with a tasty garlic cream. We also ordered the Falafel which hit the spot. Price was great for the quality of food

Yelp
The ambiance and presentation of the food is impressive. The smaller portions and lack of flavor left me feeling dissatisfied, especially with the "Mezzwhich Trio" (Le Trio Mezzwhich)(btw - one of the mezz is ansoft drink.not a dish). Given my experience living in the Middle East, it's understandable that you'd expect a more flavorful and authentic taste. While the differences in ingredients and flavor profiles are natural, bland food and quantity can be a letdown. It's good to know the place excels in style but could benefit from improving the taste and portion sizes to better meet anyones expectations

Yelp
The Italian restaurant on Crescent that we'd been to before was closed so we kept walking and found Mezzmiz. Thank goodness we did! The owner and the staff were so warm and friendly. The food was superb! I've never had hummous like this, smooth as silk served in a small bowl with olive oil on top. The Muhamarra (red pepper dish) was sensationally tasty. Everything was perfect. We can't wait to return.

Yelp
The service was lovely and the food is amazing and authentic. You can watch them out it together and it's obvious they care. Totally recommend Mezzmiz.

Yelp
Pretty much amazing all around. Super fresh and the best Lebanese food we've had. While we loved the meat dishes, vegetarian options such as the eggplant fattoush and the muhammara were outstanding.

Yelp
Yum. So tasty and fresh. Upbeat casual dining. They kindly helped us select items for our trays. Highly recommend

Yelp
The first thing we noticed about Mezzmiz was the casual, but beautifully decorated vibe. The person who took our was kind, gave great advice, and made sure that one of our dishes sets of dishes were vegan and the other included meat. While, I thought the food was fresh, beautifully, spiced, beautifully presented, and delicious, the seal of approval from my traveling companion, who spent his earliest years in Beirut, sealed the deal for me.
