Mezzo Bistro and Wine

Staying in Vegas to visit 94 yr old Gma, went to dinner with mom and BF , We chose Italian my mother spoke highly of this restaurant. She gave us three options, ( Fish, Mexican, Italian). This is a restaurant off The LV strip west side of LV so know your not likely gonna get Michelin star dishes.. The ambiance was a bit dark for me, specials are listed on black chalkboards which were hard to read (text was simply too close together) I was the reader for the table. App chosen was Calimari / only 2 of us wanted it, and was just as Calimari can be fresh fried (i think) Mom ordered Chicken Marsala with angel hair a special , as did the other patrons in my party , i tried to warn them… my comment (possibly rude) “ arent the chef specials food they didn’t sell last night and are trying to off load the ingredients into dishes so they don’t throw them away.” I explain it as , Yes fresh made but with yesterdays fresh ingredients. Most good restaurants receive fresh produce nearly everyday from their vendors. So I was only patron who ordered directly from the menu, -Ravioli with a Vodka cream sauce. I enjoyed as did my wife as i shared with her.. our perspective may have been that it was the best dish on the menu, we had to stay budget minded, as this trip was unplanned and made in haste but Mom insisted she take us out to dinner , was not going to make mom empty her wallet on my dinner choices. The other 2 specials were not as good as might to be expected, maybe chef was off his game… -Creamy mushroom risotto lacked a creaminess .and was served with a more than charred 4 slices of baguette. -Chicken Parm plating was separated and a bowl of Penne on the side I dont try to write bad reviews only how I experienced it on this night , it was overall a good dinner experience, a bit loud on this particular Saturday night, we had some patrons who sat behind us were there before us and were still there after us. A member of their party was very late like after we had our food, 3 ladies and one guy. (They were annoyingly loud) Service was very polite, server was professional and friendly, attended to our needs ,( drink refills, etc) Overall food was a bit under par for the price .. specials were priced accordingly , no selling of dishes from the staff was performed, I like to be offered something the chef is proud of creating. If you choose this place dont order specials, spend the extra $9 and go straight for the menu

Great place! Ali made it so comfortable and the portions are huge. Great value for such an incredible price. I will ABSOLUTELY be back!

The food is amazing. The service is great. It’s got the feel of an old fashion Italian neighborhood restaurant that you’d find on the East coast. They got everything right.

We really enjoyed our experience at Mezzo Bistro. Loved the old style atmosphere and the food was great. The service was great as well. The portion size left us with leftovers. Would highly recommend!

Just left here! Literally still in the car headed home! Was so good! We drove past and thought it was pretty from the outside so we turned back. Steven and Jordan waited on us. WONDERFUL SERVICE! Delicious food. The bread is addictive. You better decline or you’ll be stuffing your bag! New date night spot! The prices were beyond reasonable!

Mezzo is in our neighborhood, but this was our first visit despite living here for a year. I can’t recommend the happy hour menu enough. The Blackened Salmon, Beet Salad and Meatball Special were all excellent. And the Canyon Road Pinot Grigio was very satisfying. And who doesn’t like swiveling bar chairs with armrests? 😉

Came here for date night and service was amazing. The food was brought out in great intervals and staff was professional and friendly. Food also tasted amazing and was plentiful for anyone that would eat here. Outside seating was also available if that’s your cup of tea. This is the second time we’ve been and each time has been fantastic.

This is a popular local spot apparently as it was a very busy weeknight. When we arrived they asked the couple in front of us if they had reservations and they did not but were seated right away. We gave our reservation name and were seated as well, luckily we got the last table. First thing we noticed is how dark it was, we could not read the menu and noticed ppl were using their phone lights to read them which of course was disturbing to other diners but we followed suit so we could order. It took a while before the bartender noticed we hadn't been waited on yet so he rushed over and apologized for the wait and proceeds to take our drink order, they were out of some of the wines offered and one of the special items. We made due and placed our order with the waitress who eventually came around, she was very nice. Wine was good, food was good- nothing exciting. Our Vinegar was mostly balsamic as you can see from the photo, way too much. We people watched and noticed all the creative ways people lit up their menus or struggled to read them if they didn't have a phone out. It is honestly way too dark in here. All the lights start to become a distraction and you don't enjoy your food as much. Overall experience 3 stars for friendly service once we got it and decent food. We will not return but at least we tried out a new local spot.
