An awful airport food experience. The prices are outrageous and you have to order and pay completely through the app. Over $20 for a beer with a 15% tip. I wish I was making this up. The food tastes like just reheated microwave food. Save your money and pack a sandwich instead.

Google
I get that we are in an airport but I just paid $17 for 3.5 meatballs in a little marinara sauce. Also you could order three types of soda but no water so I had to go wait in another line to pay for water. Not well organized but I guess they don’t care. I still can’t believe I paid $17 for 3.5 meatballs.

My gate was nearby, so I went to get something to eat. I placed my order on the automated machine provided. I asked how long for 2 sandwiches, I was told 15 minutes, so I thought, great, plenty of time to make my flight. While waiting, my flight started boarding. After 30 minutes I was still waiting. I asked if I could get my money back, they ask for my order to be expedited, I waited an additional 15 minutes. By now I am panicking because my husband is waiting to board. I was eventually given my order. I ordered the short rib sandwich and the impossible meatballs for my husband. Whether or not I received the impossible meatballs is questionable at best. There’s an automatic charge for Employee Wage & Benefits Fee. That fee apparently does not go to the employees. I would not go back due to the wait times and the outrageous costs. Mezzogiorno Impossible Meatball Hoagie $21.79 Mezzogiorno Short Rib Hoagie $27.49 Employee Wage & Benefits Fee $1.48 Tax $4.06 Total $54.82

While I can’t rate the food, wine was amazing ! I had the Sauvignon Blanc El Correo Chile. Quick service ! Definitely a great spot while you wait for your flight !

Google
Mezzogiorno is great. I was so happy to dine in an Italian restaurant. The service was great and the staff were professionals. Their food was good and the wine even better.

Google
The eggs and potatoes were good. The only complaint is that this establishment only gives a receipt via email or text, which is my personal information given to a stranger. I would have given 5 stars, but for being forced to give out my personal information. The employees were all so kind and very professional.

Google
I received very kind and patient service on Feb22 at around 8:30pm. I had a coughing fit while trying to order. A manager, an African American mid years gentlemen offered me water. Then after I ordered 2 meals instead of one he talked to straighten it out with the kitchen and helped me on my phone to get reimbursement. He was so nice. I was exhausted: flights delayed , missed connection, running from Terminal F to A but missed it and had come from my brother's death bed. It was the only nice thing , kindness I received that day. I am very grateful. I hope this man is appreciated by the company. I hope to pay forward his goodness. Thank you.

Google
Decent airport food. I didn’t feel like garbage after eating it, so thats a plus. Noting to write home about, but what airport food ever is?

Yelp
Pretty good for the airport. I got a sausage egg and cheese with a cold brew. I loved all the compostable take out containers too. Looks like they really switched over from plastic. Surprised by the service being quick and accurate cuz again it's the airport. If you've been to the airport you know. You can go to your favorite franchise and it just won't be the same.

Yelp
Love that you can seat yourself, and even order/pay to have it delivered to your table. The impossible meatballs were great and the cocktail though priced a little expensive was delicious & refreshing for a humid summer day in Philly. Definitely do this place again when flying PHL!

Yelp
I've never left a review on yelp before because I think it's a waste of time. Today I'm warning you not to eat here

Castin L.

Yelp
I was about to order a pork sandwich for take out it ended up up being $27?! You guys are out of your mind! No wonder you guys don't list your prices. I storm back to Geno and got my $14 sandwich instead. I know places need to make a few bucks but this is price gouging at its finest. People you have been warned!!

Yelp
We had a great airport meal. Service was great and food tasty. We split a pie and debated getting a second;). If we had not been so much holiday candy/cookie stuff we probably would have done so. But split of pie was a nice meal for two.

Yelp
2 waters $10, but litterally was stuck between 2 people who didn't understand the ordering processes (disagreed instead of seating us) then the didn't understand their own technology . Hire at least one person who understands food service and maybe a manager. Pathetic.

Yelp
We stopped here before our flight to grab a bite to eat. You sit at whatever table you want and then order on the tablets at the table. The service was friendly and a normal pace. The prices are a little high, but that's what you get at an airport. We tried the baked ricotta appetizer which we did not like. It really had no flavor and needed some honey or something to add to it. For entrees, we got the braised short rib sandwich and the pecorino truffle white pizza. Both were good. I probably would have preferred the pizza without the egg which is surprising because I love sunny side up eggs. Overall, the food is nothing to write home about, but for airport food it was pretty solid.

Yelp
Worst food ever , both sandwich's we got were just terrible. The sausage , egg and cheese sandwich the sausage was burnt and covered 1/3 of the sandwich.
google avatar

Navy K.

Yelp
The pizza isn't bad. The service is horrible. I just went up to check on my order and the guy told me my order isn't ready and he will call me when it's ready. But also commented rudely that they have other orders too. I just told him he didn't have to be rude the way he said it. I just simply asked if he called my order because we sat far to charge our electronics.

Yelp
Hated that all the restaurants in terminal B are those seats at tables where you order on a screen and the food is brought to you; all of these menus for breakfast (I checked 3 restaurants) were ridiculously expensive--$25 for eggs, meat, potatoes, toast, and a cup of coffee. Thats even ridiculously expensive for an aIrport!! I will say the cost was a couple dollars less at this place than it was at the restaurants closer to my gate (B3). Next time I'll eat before my flight.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance of this restaurant at the airport. The bartender is super cool and helpful. This is my second visit, I came back because I liked the pizza I had here so much. The first time I came I had the Guanciale pizza, Today I got the quattro formaggi pizza. Good pizza with wine at the airport while you wait for your flight. I give you 4 point because my only complain is that how come I have to tip before I even receive the services- but hey luckily the bartender server does a good job.

Yelp
Not a great stop immediately after a trip to Rome. The touch screens for ordering are great, but the pay station in the middle of the merchandise is a bit strange. I ordered a caprese salad. For $15, I received 9 springs of arugula, a watery half sphere of mozzarella and 6 slices of marinated tomato. I also ordered a honey Jade tea, but the pick up location for the tea was different from the food, FYI. The tea was hot, but the lid didn't seal correctly and leaked. The container for the salad was difficult to open without breaking the lid, but it was made of fully compostable materials. I caught my connecting flight, still hungry and with a lighter wallet.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch today while waiting for my flight to board. Just as the other reviewers claimed this place is uber pricey. I paid nearly $20 for a small Caesar salad, a bottle of Diet Pepsi and a bottle of water. The salad was good and was the perfect portion for lunch. It was a typical Caesar salad: grated parmesan, croutons, chicken and Caesar dressing. The staff was friendly and helped me when I couldn't find the register. The reason being is there is no register. You scan your own items and pay by card. This is convenient for those with credit cards but you are out of luck if you only have cash!

Yelp
I think the idea and technology at Mezzogiorno are great, but the actual food and employee behavior were appalling. As I waited for my flight at PHL, I figured I'd grab a quick pizza. I like how you can just used the iPad to order and pay for your food. That was cool. I also loved the kiosk where you could purchase assorted items without needing the help of anyone. I used it to purchase a soda to go with my pizza. After paying for my pizza, I stood to the side and waited. It was a good time to people-watch. I was standing near the pizza assembly line, there was an employee on my side of the counter who stood and chatted with the guys behind the counter. The amount of foul language and complaining that these employees did was surprising. I don't know if there's no supervisor or if this is was acceptable, but as I waited there for 15-20 minutes, I heard things that customers should not hear. From my vantage point, I could also watch the three guys standing behind the counter with no sense of urgency. I worked in the food service industry for many years, and I would not accept so much standing around doing nothing. After watching them make a couple of pizzas, I considered canceling my order, but I was running out of time and I was hungry. I ordered a prosciutto & arugula pizza. They baked the crust w/sauce & a little cheese, then threw the prosciutto and arugula on top. They couldn't even be bothered to spread the prosciutto out evenly--the pie had clumps and empty spaces. It was a hot mess. I would not recommend giving Mezzogiorno any business. I agree with other reviewers that it was way over priced, even for airport mark up. The employee behavior just added to the bad taste in my mouth from the pizza.

Yelp
At the far end of terminal B is this modern menu bar with iPad ordering. Unfortunately the wait for an egg breakfast sandwich was 40 minutes, not exactly what you would expect at an airport when time is important. No ketchup unless you ask for it. And to add further insult, the sandwich was cold. Coffee is $4, not served with sugar caddy which you have to ask for. If I knew it would take so long, I would not pay a tip which you have to do at the time of the order. I am told they were short staffed. Maybe, but they need to hire more employees. I added a star because the manager apologized and wrote off the sandwich. They are not ready for prime time.

Yelp
I have layovers in Philly a lot and just so happened to have a 2 hour layover during dinnertime at gate B10 the other day where Mezzogiorno is conveniently located. They have a super easy ordering system where you seat yourself wherever there is a tablet available to order from. You scan your boarding pass, order your food, pay and then wait for them to bring your order to you. They offer individually-sized, thin-crust, Neapolitan-style white pizzas and red pizzas so I opted for the spicy sausage red pizza. The spicy sausage pizza was surprisingly pretty good. The crust was baked to perfection and had a good snappy crisp with each bite. Unfortunately, they left off the basil from my pizza which would have amped up the taste and the presentation by adding a pop of color. The other toppings were good though - just really upset about the basil. Keep in mind that they do charge airport prices...which is why my individually-sized pizza was a whopping $17 before tax and tip. Oh well. I wouldn't go out of my way for Mezzogiorno but if I have a layover near gate B10 again I might stop by.

Yelp
For a decent airport breakfast I recommend this spot. Be prepared to eat! The portion I received was quite generous: eggs, 3 sausage links (approximately 5+ inches ), potatoes (minus the extra like onions, peppers, etc.) and a slice of toast with butter. I'm ready for the next leg of my trip, but won't need any lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Great pizza! Great service! We had two pizzas, both great! Thank you folks! I don't like it when yelp wants me to write more on a review.

Jill E.

Yelp
Wanted to grab something quick before boarding my flight. The order and payment system was not easy to navigate. My cc would not swipe or tap, an employee came over to assist. They had to manually input my cc number. Was quite surprised to find after I boarded my flight and looked at the receipt that they added their own 20% tip (for takeout), without asking me. I sent a message to the company letting them know how dishonest this was. Didn't need a refund or even my tip back but thought they should do something to stop this dishonest (and probably illegal behavior). Received a message back saying someone would be in touch with me soon to resolve. Now 6 weeks later, no contact what's so ever. Although my food at the pickup window arrived quickly, it really wasn't good. I'll make sure to avoid this place when flying out of Philadelphia (which I do often) and I suggest you do too.

Yelp
1st time I've visited terminal B since it's been remodeled. Generally love All the restaurants...found the ordering system a little confusing. I ordered at takeout and sat at the table but you can sit at the tables and order from the iPad and a server will bring you food/drink. I ordered the tomato braised chicken sandwich. The chicken was really tasty but the roll was stale. It included fresh cut French fries which were delicious. I also ordered an iced. Pro: it's fresh brewed Con: it tasted like it came from the coffee pot. I always ask myself if I'd be willing to try the same dish again and I'd say I'd give them a second chance but if the roll and tea aren't better, I'll choose somewhere else...lots of choices here!

Yelp
Would give zero stars if I can. Do NOT waste your money at this place. 16.50 for a tuna sandwich which came out incorrect. 3 dollars for a side salad which was small. The turkey panini had zero arugula and very little of what was supposed to be the actual turkey. Only positive was the manager was at least trying. Wish I would have read other reviews. Seems as though org is taking over terminal b and f with ridiculously overpriced average food at best.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Good Margherita Pizza and Mixed green Salad. We also shared a San Pellegrino water I believe. We had been awake about 20 hours so some things are blurry. I loved the way you could order right at the gate using a tabletop computer. No complaints about the food or service. You pay a premium price of course because of convenient and of course it is located in the airport.
google avatar

Joanne L.

Yelp
Better food than I expected although that could partially be because of the airport location. The mozzarella and tomato caprese was pretty good, on par with most others I've had at various places. The meatball appetizer was ok, they were a little hard and not as much flavor as I was hoping for. Overall, it's about the same price range as the other restaurants nearby. I would come back here and try some other items on the menu.
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
Had the short rib take out. Fantastic! I would highly recommend this as a sit down place even. The pizza looked great. It's all expensive at the airport May as well get something good!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Wow - prices are insane!! $55 for 3 Miller lite, a very small veg panini and something they called eggplant app. Each dish was really small but the quality was just ok. The eggplant app came with 3 stale tiny crisp and some veggies. Wow - no way doing that again. Pretty sure they are part of the OTP chain - totally dome with this group. What a joke!!
google avatar

Stephen B.

Yelp
Tasteless food and ridiculously over priced!! Had the frittata. It had the texture of cardboard and the flavor of it too. Only flavor was the tin of ketchup I poured on it. A plus to the very sweet women working the floor. I wish the 'cook' would stop referring to himself as 'big daddy' over and over. Sad state of affairs on the PHL dining scene.

Amy H.

Yelp
An absolute rip off. I know airport food is usually a bit expensive, but the to-go menu board is misleading. I ordered the arugula salad which says "served with your choice of protein" only to find out that you actually have to pay an extra $7.50 to add chicken or tuna. I opted out because I didn't want to pay $20 for an airport salad. But of course the $14 I spent on just the salad was not worth the very skimpy portions.
google avatar

Donna Y.

Yelp
Margarita Pizza without basil-come on!!!!! You should let a customer know that before ordering. Incredibly disappointing experience. There are a lot of employees, but service is awful. It shouldn't be that hard to get silverware. Lame pizza doesn't have a home in Philadelphia. Huge disappointment. My first & last visit.
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
The food was overpriced but tasted ok. The worst part about this place is the service. The wait staff is non attentive and non responsive. They are also not friendly at all. Eat somewhere else!

David L.

Yelp
I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. It's awful. A snails pace would be faster. The lovely young female manager is useless. She has no knowledge of drinks and helping out employees when they're busy. The young girl behind the bar was making drinks while pizzas were lined up to be run to guests. The mgr stood and watched. Her coaching skills need work. Philly airport has finally made some great changes for the better but their hiring practices in this particular place are stagnant. There should be pace and intensity when working at an airport. Everyone is in a hurry. Very disappointed!

Luke M.

Yelp
*Update* I was contacted about the process in getting my receipt. The customer service was quick and professional. Thank you! The food and drinks were good so certainly no complaints there. The pricing was typical for an airport so certainly more expensive than I would like. The only complaint I had was with the ordering system and specifically the inability to receive a paper receipt. I travel for work and after ordering had put in my e-mail for a receipt which I never received. I asked one of the employees about getting a receipt and they told me they don't give them out. I was very frustrated with this process and lack of help associated with it.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
After debating for 15 minutes if I should spend $10 on an egg McMuffin, I finally pulled the trigger. Why? Because it's the airport and I needed to eat before my flight. I should have just waited for the pretzels on the plane. What I got was a super unimpressive egg and English muffin sandwich. Wait... wasn't there supposed to be bacon on this sandwich? Some excavation revealed what was, at best, half a strip of undercooked bacon. I truly feel robbed. McDonalds has this places breakfast sandwiches look like a hit-and-run. The eggs and cheese tasted good, but it wasn't enough to make up for the great bacon disappearance of 2018.
google avatar

Zelah De Bella S.

Yelp
Disgusting. Not real food. Felt sick after for about an hour. The cheese was probably plastic.
google avatar

Colleen A.

Yelp
I didn't get to try the food ... because they DON'T ACCEPT CASH. I was willing to pay $15 for a sandwich, but oh well.

Beth B.

Yelp
I was shocked by the negative reviews because my family had an amazing experience here. I came online to see if there were other locations. First, the woman who assisted us was super friendly and helpful. We have a young daughter, so she told the guys making our pizza to use shredded mozzarella to make the margherita pizza look more like a standard cheese pizza. It was delicious! We all shared the pizza, and my husband and I also split the short rib sandwich that was amazing. The bread was super tasty and the perfect mix of chewy, soft, and crispy. The meat was incredibly flavorful, tender, and moist. The fries were great, too. Quite frankly, I was surprised by how good everything tasted because I was expecting subpar airport food. The price was about what we expected, considering it is airport food; however, it was well worth it, considering the quality of the product. Admittedly, the payment kiosk was a little strange, but I don't think that's enough to ding my experience. We left raving about the place.

Yelp
Food here is average, at best (my $14 egg sandwich consisted of dry egg and a sprinkle of cheese (I think...) on dry ciabatta bread with a side of salad?? Salad for breakfast??). The Experience is meant to be self service (iPads to order food/pay) however the staff is unorganized, customers are confused, and the items on the menu are limited (with many items not available though listed). At the end, I paid $19 for a subpar egg and coffee, will not be back.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Geesch-I had some time to kill and extra money in my pocket, so despite the horrific reviews, I stopped by. Yes, overly priced. But, my pizza was FANTASTIC and the staff was helpful. I had a fabulous experience!! Such an awesome concept. Keep up the great job!!

Tim D.

Yelp
This place doesn't even deserve one star. Pure garbage. Coffee is watered down trash. My wife ordered a couple breakfast bagels. Shocker the order was wrong and tasted like three day old cardboard. But seriously, DO NOT GO HERE.

Jenni N.

Yelp
AVOID AVOID!!!!!! AVOID at all costs! Bad Food! Bad customer service! Expensive prices!!! Don't let the lure of the ipads trap you in here!!! Pizza was burnt! Also, the cheese was NOT REAL cheese! It was a mystery substance? Employees were socializing with each other soooo loud & obnoxiously that it was rude and annoying! The salad had rotten strawberries on it! We ended up throwing the pizza & salad away after 2 bites!!! Don't waste your time or money here.... move on!!!

Yelp
Anybody in management out there paying attention or so you don't give a rip because we are passing through? I read a sign that says sandwiches. I order and have to figure out that now you call it trapizini. I get a number. I ask the guy what I do next. He calls out to someone I think is gonna come help me. No one. Minutes later I'm ready to chuck the receipt. I ask again he says behind you self check out. Would have been nice if management would figure out how to help people. Then, in an Indian or Pakistani accent I hear Debbie. Debbie. I think, oh he's calling some by number. He calls her again then says meatball sandwich. My name is DAVID. ok. It would have been ok had the sob not scolded me. Last I checked I AM THE CUSTOMER. Weren't you listening, he says. I called out your name 3xs. I heard Debbie. His English isn't mine. Figure out how you are going to do this already! It a sandwich or it isn't. Let me pay where I prefer or TELL me where. And if you give a number use the damn # because 233 will sound like 233 if you're expecting a number.

Emily H.

Yelp
The ordering system is totally insane, you go all the way up, order on a tablet and then backtrack through the line to pay on a separate tablet. So needlessly frustrating. If they just switched the person that's there to explain everything to each confused person to a cashier everything would run much more smoothly.

Steven C.

Yelp
$30 plus dollars for breakfast. Food was super over priced and not great. Omelette did not have any flavor and mocha didn't taste good. Potatoes were okay and sausage was mediocre. I probably should have gone to McDonalds instead. The tablets are cool though for ordering.

John P.

Yelp
Horrible. I can understand the high price, everything is expensive at the airport. I ordered one margarita pizza and waited over 20 minutes. During that time I watched the staff (three males, one female), curse and yell at each other. The female screamed at her coworkers, dropped the pizza she was working on and left. The male coworkers just laughed. At the 25 min mark I asked for a refund, they rolled there eyes and handed me another customers order. STAY AWAY from this place. BTW the pizza tasted like crap.

Jack C.

Yelp
Overpriced, slow, unorganized, and got order wrong. Save your time and money and don't even bother.

David B.

Yelp
Horrible food. Stale bread. Not really a sandwich since the didn't bother to slice the bread and just threw eggplant on top. Don't eat here!

Joseph H.

Yelp
Pizza here is truly fantastic! Food comes out pretty quick too - after that the service slows down for stuff like refills on drinks

Bob ..

Yelp
Pretty poor overall. I didn't realize you could mess up a pizza. Ordered the prosciutto arugula pizza. The entire bottom of the pizza was blackened (burnt) and it tasted like burnt toast. Also the pizza was very floppy so I had to cut it up with a fork and knife. Also, one entire slice was a giant bubble. As a matter of preference, I thought the balsamic drizzle overpowered the other flavors, and the prosciutto was as thin as I've ever seen it. It's a shame they can charge $17 for such a careless, sloppy, "fake fancy" pizza. It's in the airport terminal so they'll probably get away with it for a long time seeing as how there won't be many repeat customers.

Nicole B.

Yelp
I almost didn't stop here because of the other negative reviews, but I'm so glad my husband convinced me otherwise! The food came out incredibly fast, waitress was friendly, and the pizza was delicious! My husband and I split the pesto pie along with a salad-the pizza could have easily been split 3 ways making it well worth the $15 price tag.

Tatiana M.

Yelp
I gave one star because I can not give zero. Food is horrible and expansive. Do not waste your time and money.
