"Cornbread doesn’t have to rest on its Betty Crocker laurels to serve the masses a good, honest slice. Cult favorite food cart MF Tasty takes the traditional recipe and levels it up with its signature Mexican-American style, incorporating roasted poblano peppers, herbed-lime compound butter, and spiced honey into the mix. It might be the first time a scrambled egg burrito has been paired with a side of old-fashioned cornbread, but there’s a first time for everything and legendary combinations have to start somewhere." - Scout Brobst

Most recently, I had the MF Tasty Sourdough Bread Bowl with Southwestern Corn Chowder (with added bacon, pictured), featuring fresh, soft, chewy, and toasted Sourdough bread, from the nearby Dos Hermanos Bakery, just down the street, that was lightly drizzled with olive oil, for just a hint of elegance. The soup was a hot, thick, and savory corn chowder featuring corn that was just barely sweet, hearty potatoes, and carrots. It had just a bit of warm, mild Southwestern spice, that said, "Hey! Today is going to be a good day!" Notably, the Southwestern Corn Chowder is vegetarian, if you opt not to add the bacon. I have enjoyed each of my experiences, from MF Tasty's rotating menu, but this may be my favorite, so far; truly exceptional comfort food! On my first visit, I had the Albacore Tuna Bowl (also pictured), which was great! Generous portions of seared, expertly-seasoned, high-quality Oregon albacore, green onion puree, and an exceptional (very) spicy and sweet habanero pineapple honey dipping sauce that absolutely stole the show! I also had the loaded MF potatoes, which were solid. The following day, I had their Famous Brunch Burrito (also pictured), with added house chorizo, bacon and guacamole. It was very good! Perfectly grilled, huge, and very filling! It came with a spicy habanero salsa that I enjoyed (different from the honey sauce) and a very mild verde. On my third visit, I had the Smoked and Seared Pork Chop with kimchi fried rice (also pictured). It was the best pork chop that I have had, in years, and when paired with that same, fantastic pineapple habanero honey sauce, it may actually be THE best! Tender, perfectly seasoned, and a great match with the mildly spicy kimchi fried rice, they were really showing their cooking chops! Pun intended. Not just a food cart, but a tiny restaurant, there are tables outside, with and without umbrellas, and a fully covered structure for what is essentially indoor seating. Painted in bright, vibrant colors, with upbeat hip hop and R&B playing, this spot has a fun, laid-back vibe that would be great for a quick bite or maybe a casual date. They also offer take out, but do not appear to deliver, at this time. Each time, the service was fast, friendly and accommodating. They always seem to be fairly busy, seemingly including several regulars (also, dog-friendly), but when there is a wait, the food is worth it. This is a local, mom and pop spot. Shop local, eat local and support small businesses here! As a side note, [ mrs.mftasty ] is easily one of my favorite Portland foodie Instagram accounts that I follow (and highly recommend), and I am aware that Mr. and Mrs. MF Tasty also have a book, "Portland Oregon Food Crawls Touring the Neighborhoods One Bite & Libation at a Time," but I have not read it, yet, myself. If you like my photographs, feel free to follow me on Instagram: jonathan.grubb , for more (casual, and almost exclusively small / local) greater-Portland-area foodventures!

Owners are some of the finest people you will meet! Passionate about making high quality food from fresh ingredients! Chef Eric is creative AF and his specials continuously blow me away! Huge fan of the weekly paella, breakfast burritos, crunch wraps, burger, Mac and cheese as well as every special I’ve had here. Solid foodcart with great owners!

Came here after an early meeting and had the Brunch Burrito. The burrito is pretty good in size and packed with eggs, pinto beans, cheese, potatoes, and chorizo. It's safe to say that you only need to eat half and save the other half for later, which is what I did. They also have a few tables for outside seating and also a covered area.

This was a great little find on Instagram. Food: I think I came here late because they seemed to be out of a few things. The dish I go was tasty but I’d be curious to try some of their others. Service: fantastic and friendly people. Atmosphere: considering this was a food truck this place had a great feel to it and the sitting area was clean and had lots of personality to it.

5 stars!!! I don’t get to eat out often these days, but MF Tasty is one of my go to’s. You can taste the flavors and the fresh ingredients they use. The breakfast burrito is amazing! The menu changes weekly, so check their IG for the latest. I personally love the revolving menu as I can try out new food items
