"Located in a quiet strip mall on Beach Boulevard, Mi Casa serves street-style tacos simply topped with cilantro, onion, and a zesty tomatillo sauce. Another excellent option is the sopes, fried masa discs loaded with refried beans, red sauce, and a choice of protein like chicken, steak, chorizo, or beef tongue. The restaurant also operates a sister food truck, Mi Casa La Casa Del Tamal, specializing in tamales and tortas, the traditional Mexican sandwich." - Megan duBois

The place was beautiful, the food was great! Karaoke was fun to watch and listen to. The service was great to.

Absolutely coming back over and over again. Everything was wonderful! One of the best Jalapeño margaritas I’ve had. The food was delicious. The owner and staff were kind and had great personalities! I am Mexican American and I approve this spot .

Authentic Mexican cuisine served in a clean well appointed atmosphere. This was my first visit to Mi Casa and I will definitely be back. I had the Combo pick 2 for 10.99 with a Chicken Enchilada and a Guacamole Tostado served with refried beans and yellow rice and it was excellent. Bridget had the Ranchero with extra bell peppers and she loved hers. We also had a side of queso . The service was quick and on point. Our waitress was pleasant and checked on us multiple times😀 We had water to drink, passed on dessert and our bill was $35. plus’s tip I liked it.

Stopped in to visit the Karaoke DJ, Jose, who's an old friend from the 90s. The vibe was awesome and Jose sounds more amazing than I remember. Such a fun night!!

Nice restaurant space. Our server was attentive. We mostly ordered steak type meals. The meats were quite bland. Rice and beans were okay. Not what I am used to or prefer, but it’s a nice local spot favored by many. Quattro.

Stopped in here just to see what they had and also to get some margaritas, while I was in here I decided to get some empanads and drinks to go. Upon eating the empanads they definitely were not what I expected at all not what I was used to. The shell was too thick made everything else not satisfyingly. The drinks were very good tho I will say that. They are definitely not cheap on the alcohol.

I’m impressed! The nicest people, tasty food, cold cocktails and incredible vibe from the murals on the walls! I can tell they have put attention into every detail. My favorite? Their tamales. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Came here on a Tuesday during off season. The staff was very nice, patient, and attentive. The food was great! We got queso and a steak quesadilla. Very good. The salsa is very flavorful. The margarita was the best one I’ve had! The artwork was appealing and original. Overall, a great experience for someone looking for authenticate Mexican food experience.

Yelp
I saw this place on Instagram and it looked awesome. It was advertised as a "glow in the dark mexican bar" Upon walking in, I should have probably turned around. There is one big wall painted in neon paint but it is not "glow" in the dark. The food was honestly some of the worst mexican food I've had. I don't know how refried beans and rice can taste so bad but they did. The guacamole tasted like a straight up smashed avocado with no seasonings or tomatoes & onions in it. The chicken quesadilla was alright, but that is pretty hard to screw up. Chips & salsa, chips were stale and the salsa tasted just like any jar stuff you find at Publix. As soon as we sat down, the owner came over asking us for drinks and appetizer orders. With no drink or food menus to even have a look at. I'm not sure if this place is brand new or what, but I will take the L on the money I lost and eat somewhere else from now on.

Yelp
Very nice family restaurant. Lovely decor. Service was fast and friendly. The food was nice. Good portions.

Yelp
Wow! This place is beautiful. The artwork is amazing in all the walls, especially when they turn on the black light everything pops! The margs are delicious and pack a punch. The food is almost too beautiful to eat. Delicious flavors and beautiful marriage of spices. You feel welcomed, taken care of and adored by the staff.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice and there's plenty of seating here not including the bar. Service was great when we were seated, but once our meals were brought out it went downhill. Drinks were not refilled and it took FOREVER to get the check -- They did not bring out any Verde with the tacos and after 10 minutes of waiting I just ate them. There was another table seated when we arrived but we were the only ones here when it was time for the check. Not sure what's up with the service. The portion was lacking. There could have been more protein on the tacos. The amount billed did not match the menu.

Yelp
Good experience. Atmosphere- Fun, amazing paintings on the wall that glow. Smaller inside- booths and tables. Chips, ok only unfortunately - lacked some flavor Queso- white, delicious Enchiladas Suizas - 4, sauce was great (mother in laws recipe) Quesadilla- taco sized, good flavor Burritos- one was super large as shown, other variety was a bit small Taco salad- fresh, good flavor Service- Great, owner served us himself. Celebrated my daughters bday and he brought out dessert and a hat for her head. Definitely will try again, some specials offered, good 3rd party pickup flow.

Yelp
I felt right at home in Mi Casa! Some of the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico and So California. Delicious!!!! Or - Delicioso!!!!! I've been on a Mexican food hunt for nearly 4 years in Jax. And lately, I've specially aimed my sites on finding the best lengua taco (beef) or Torta Ahogada near me. Mi Casa is by far the BEST lengua taco I have found in this city... Sitting in a humble strip mall off beach Blvd, I found this place today. The tacos had WARM tortillas, soft tender lengua seasoned with delicious seasoning. While I was here, I figured a sopes de pastor was worth a try and it did NOT disappoint! Wonderful toppings, freshly made masa. I'm so pleased! The service was friendly and attentive. The interior was clean with beautiful art on the walls celebrating the Mayan culture. You can tell the food is authentic by the number of Spanish-speaking patrons who also were happily eating here. The price was very reasonable and there were many other options for drinks, food, and dessert that I look forward to trying on my next visit. Thank you thank Mi Casa!!!

Yelp
My friend and I were driving around the Jax Beach area, and it so happened to be that we were both in the mood for some good food. While in the car, he suggested that we try this new Mexican spot, and I thought, why not! Going in, the restaurant had a nice ambiance, with neat neon painting done on the walls, pleasant spanish music, and decent seating. Today we ordered 1x enchilada suiza, 1x birria beef tacos, and 1x churro cheesecake. Going into my review, I have to give credit where credit is due because everything was excellente! For starters, both entrees offered great portions for your buck. You can tell the enchiladas were made with fresh corn tortillas, stuffed with plenty and tasty shredded chicken, and topped with a delicious green poblano cilantro herbed sauce! The rice and beans that came with it, didn't disappoint either as the rice was nice and fluffy, and the beans has a smooth texture. As for the birria beef, these also were filled nicely, had tender shredded beef, and a flavorful consumè to dip with them! They do have an in-house hot salsa you can request that's awesome with any of the main dishes! Moreover, the churro cheesecake had a nice contrast between the crispy churro exterior and creamy cheesecake filling - what a treat! As for service, our server (who I believe was the owner), was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful with tips on ordering from the menu. Overall, the food and service was great, and this is one of my new favorite Mexican spots in Jax now, final review is a 5/5!

Yelp
First impression: Vibrant painting on walls is so cute, makes for a fun atmosphere. My menu had what looked like salsa on it. Service: We sat ourselves. The waitress approached the table immediately. I asked for recommendations twice with no response, she seemed in a rush even though there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Food: I got the flautas. They were a little skimpy on the meat but okay. My lunch buddy enjoyed his tamale...I thought they should've had more filling. I would come back for taco Tuesday or HH so I can try their drinks and other items on the menu.

Sophia V.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stopped here for an early lunch for tacos. They were really delicious, he got 4 tacos de al pastor and i got 3 tacos de asada. We also got two different types of salsa, one spicy and one mild. We ended up getting dessert too - the Chimi Cheesecake, which was absolutely amazing! The tacos were cooked great, not too chewy but they had great texture, only wish they had spicier salsa but the place was great nonetheless. Our server was really friendly and we even met the owner! We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The tamales and papas Guanajuato were DELICIOUS!! Great service, they were very friendly. The glow of the walls is just so cool too.

Skky L.

Yelp
The food, the service, and the ambiance of Mi Casa was great! Got the burrito supreme and the flavors were delicious! The owner, Ceaser was our server and he was amazing! Super nice

Yelp
I have read many reviews on this hole in the wall so I wanted to check it out. It's definitely in a spot that you have to know about it. The artwork is unique inside and outside the box of most Hispanic restaurants. I personally liked it. The chips were on the stale side but the salsa very tasty. I ordered a ginger margarita which I had never had! If you come, it's a must if you like ginger. Excellent. I had a taco salad with shrimp grilled. It came out quick and was as I ordered. Very good and filling. It was a good experience and would like to come back soon. Strongly recommend and prices are not too bad for today's times!

Yelp
Perfectly fine Mexican-American food in a gorgeous, intimate, restaurant with amazing murals of Aztec/Maya-inspired scenes on the walls. Normally I go to the Japanese restaurant in the same shopping center but as they were closed we instead went here and it's fine for a quick bite: excellent, fast, service and again, beautiful and unique interior. The food itself is . . . fine. Not exceptional, however. My pastor tacos were ok but the salsa roja and salsa verde alike were bland and the salsa served along with the chips was super-bland and dull. I'm thinking that while the kitchen could probably turn out something more authentic, maybe they're just catering to customer preferences. Still, everything was fine and it's a decent place for lunch or a quick dinner when in the area for shopping.

Yelp
Amazing food and very nice people. One of the beautiful artwork in Jacksonville to see as well, comfy spots to sit and or relax at the bar. Some of the best authentic Mexican food in town.

Andrew P.

Yelp
This is the first local Mexican place I've tried that offered tamales, and they were fantastic! My girlfriend got the chile relleno and also gave it high marks. The order was ready as soon as I arrived for takeout, and was 100% correct. Highly recommended!

Maggie F.

Yelp
Mi Casa is great. The food tastes delicious, and the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated with an authentic Mexican theme

Ariana H.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would this place is not any good. The salsa had no flavor it tasted like jarred salsa mixed with water. we ordered queso with chorizo and they charged 11$ All of the food was VERY VERY bland no flavor what so ever The only thing that was decent was the horchata. DONT GO SERIOUSLY SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Mike H.

Yelp
Very very average. I ate a beef burrito. It was about the same as Taco Bell. Chips were a little stale. Refried beans tasted like they were canned. The salsa was tasty. I believe the owner is Mexican and should have higher standards. Service was very good. Decor is cool. Dayglow Aztec.

Daralyn C.

Yelp
This place is always fantastic! I tried to leave a review when I first came in here but it didn't post! The owner is great. Customer service is awesome and the owner is back cooking himself! I always see the same workers and it's so comfortable every time. This place is the first place in jax we have found that is authentic Mexican food! We are from San Diego and can attest to that! My go to every week. Sometimes twice

Mary Kay R.

Yelp

Kevin M.

Yelp
Came here on a whim and was provided with delicious traditional Mexican cuisine and outstanding service. I felt like a part la familia! The fireplace was the perfect addition to a cold night, I will definitely be back!

David G.

Yelp
Loved this place! Lived in Jacksonville for over thirty years and this place has become my new favorite Mexican! The food has wonder flavor! They rescued us from a two hour waiting list at another restaurant on Fathers Day! Service was wonderful and the owners were a delight! My wife says we will be back for sure!

Jeff S.

Yelp
I understand how difficult the restaurant business is, especially for small, family-operated joints. If I have an issue with a restaurant, I reach out directly rather than gripe on Yelp. I'm making an exception for Mi Casa because I don't like being ripped off! We loved this place when they opened (the owner is very personable) and I returned a few times for their homemade tamales. My wife's fajita was always light on the chicken, but we considered it "portion control" and accepted it. The last time we went, I tried a different dish. It was, once again, a very small portion with little meat. It tasted OK, not great. To my surprise, the price on the bill was a few dollars more than on the menu. I let it go and didn't say anything. I like to support small businesses and didn't want to make a fuss. Tonight, we returned to Mi Casa and the owner was gracious, as always. The food was OK, not great. My Chile Colorado contained only a few strands of beef in a pool of sauce with some rice and refried beans. It seemed like very little food for $10.99 (the price on the menu). I was shocked to see that I was charged $15.99 for this dish on the bill! So, the previous erroneous charge was not a one-off. The restaurant, apparently, overcharges customers on a routine basis. Again, I said nothing, but resolved to never return. If you decide to ignore my lead and give this restaurant a try, be sure to check your bill. I doubt that we're the only customers who were overcharged. My advice, there are many better quality Mexican restaurants in Jax; go to one of them instead.

Ashley A.

Yelp
Great food , owner is super cool! They made the inside look really cool inside ! We love it

Sharmine B.

Yelp
Their tamales are amazing! I have traveled all around the country and the entire menu is absolutely delicious and the best I have ever had.

Mandie J.

Yelp
Found this restaurant on Yelp looking for a new place to try. They did not disappoint at all the art on the walls is beautiful and the food is amazing! If you like tamales then you have to come here ASAP! The tamale filled with poblano and cheese was my favorite! We will be back again and again!

Kim K.

Yelp
I am thoroughly disappointed. I arrived excited to try the fajitas (meat trio: chicken/steak/shrimp) only to have a long strand of hair as an unwelcomed addition to my skillet. I literally had to pull it out of my mouth along with the steak it was attached to. I put it in a napkin and gave it discreetly to my server (a nice man, who I thought would at least apologize) but, again..disappointed! He offered to remake the food however, at this point..I've lost every ounce of my appetite and simply wanted him to take the "hairy" fajitas away and just bring the check, so I can leave. The bill arrives...and to my surprise...Not only was there no apology but I was charged for the food with a 10% discount. I paid the bill but left a Note in the tip line... Regarding the HAIR! Needless to say, this was not a pleasant customer experience and I will NOT be returning. ZERO STARS from me.

Jakob M.

Yelp
This is easily some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten, my friend and I came here and were amazed at how amazing it was! The service was fast and very kind, and the hot sauce was spicy and flavorful and the burrito was HUGE and tasty! Definitely a GO TO SPOT.

madison g.

Yelp
Coming from a Mexican girl herself, this is THE BEST Mexican restaurant I have found in all of Jax. Everything I have tried has been so authentic and delicious. The tamales are BOMB , their el pastor is marinated perfectly, their burritos are huge and yummy and their rice is cooked JUST like it's supposed to be, IF you know you know! Not to mention the staff is so incredibly kind and fun! I am consistently greeted with smiles, good conversation, and good laughs. Not to mention, They're always quick to get your food out, even when I've had bigger groups, they are on point! Finally, I'd like to point out the ambiance in the restaurant is unlike any other in Jax. The owners worked so hard to make their space beautiful and unique. I watched their restaurant transform over a few months, they had an artist paint the entirety of their restaurant in an Aztec theme that depicts a little story. Best part of it all is when you order yourself a margarita they will turn off the main lights and they will have a black light illuminate the paintings in the restaurant. This place is worth the hype, bring all your friends and family, they have something for everyone! P.s. to my Mexican peeps, if you're feeling home sick, this is a wonderful place to visit and get a little taste of home.

EJ H.

Yelp
Really terrible food. Sadly the worst Mexican food I've ever tasted. Ugh. We really wanted to like it, but it was tasteless and awful.

Steve B.

Yelp
My family loves this great local neighborhood spot. The Tamales, Al Pastor and Birria tacos are our go to faves. The owner and family are incredibly warm and inviting. A must visit if your in the neighborhood.

Craig Lisa Christian B.

Yelp
The best Mexican we have ever had!!! Carnitas were amazing. Chimichanga so good. Best handmade hot sauces. And churros! Yum

Destry B.

Yelp
Everything was great!! The service, the food, the music, the margs!! The margs are cheap compared to other places and are still strong and so yummy. We got the Burrito Oso which was HUGE and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Greg C.

Yelp
Food was bland, from queso to burito, enchilada,,chips had no flavor..im one and done

Elizabeth S.

Keri C.

Sherry L.

Yelp
Our 2nd visit & it was better than the 1st! I had steak fajitas, cooked & seasoned perfectly served with fresh veggies! My husband tried the carnitas & was not disappointed!!! We have to drive a bit to get here but it's now "our restaurant "!!!!! We love it & the service is great!!!!

James C.

Yelp
The service was very quick and excellent. They were out of hot sauce and they went out of their way to make us a variety of house made salsas without request. Everything on the menu looked great, and the Mi Casa Burrito was MASSIVE. The Mi Casa enchiladas were delicious. Can't wait to go back and try everything off of their specials list.
