Was recommended this place and it didn’t not let us down. Really nice decor and atmosphere as soon as you walk in. The guacamole 🥑 was made table side. We went with the waiters recommendation. Tasty and tender skirt steak, beans, rice and sauces so good it was just mouth melting.

Been twice now and both times were excellent. Wait staff is wonderful, friendly and personable. Some of the best mexican food I have had when it comes to their sauces and quality. You won't get a chewy or crispy enchalida here. They were tender, filled well, and cooked to perfection like everything else they make. The salsa is addicting. I could drink it. They are super easy to order from and will make you anything you want. Drinks are phenomenal. Sopaipilla's were also scrumptious. Some of the best I have ever had.

Mi Dia is a beautifully decorated restaurant serving Santa Fe, Mexico City, and Tex Mex cuisine. It is also a fun and popular restaurant so I recommend reservations if you go a popular night like Friday. We arrived Friday before 6 so we were able to take advantage of happy hour or $2 off margaritas and $1 off beer. We enjoyed the chips and red and green salsa with our frozen and on the rocks margaritas. I went old school and ordered a Tex Mex platter called Juanita; 2 enchiladas, 1 taco, 1 tamale, rice, and beans. It was a LOT of food. My husband was more adventurous and ordered the Enchiladas Del Mar with shrimp, salmon, and sea bass. Both were delicious. I would have liked to order the made-at-your-table guacamole but that will have to wait for another visit when we are starving. We decided to dine at Mi Dia because the restaurant was a featured restaurant at the 2024 Taste of Plano benefitting the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation. We will be back because we want to support businesses that give back to the community (and because the manager stopped by our table to thank us for our business!) Highly recommend!

Google
Nice place. Decor and atmosphere classy, waitstaff super friendly and helpful- shoutout to Valentina, who waited on us. We were a large group during a busy lunch and she was attentive, helpful, and super gracious. The food was fresh, nice ingredients, but here is where I brought it down a star. I found the flavors ho-hum. Overall, it was a nice experience- I’d definitely go back, maybe it was an off day or I ordered the wrong dish.

Google
As A First Timer, This Place Did Not Disappoint. It Was Phenomenal. The Waitress, the Food, The Drinks, The Salsa & Atmosphere Was Amazing. The Guacamole W/ The Bacon is To Die For!! The Have a Server Who Comes to the Table & Make it In front of You. So Fresh! I Had the Carne Asada W/ Beans & Rice Which Was So Tender & Seasoned WELL! We Took a Couple Shots of Don Julio & The Setup Was Sooo Cute (Pictured). They Even Did a Complimentary Dessert for Being a 1st Time Guest. I’ll Definitely be a Returning Customer to Explore More of the Menu. If You’ve Had this One On Your List of Places To Eat, This is Your Queue to Go!

Food was very good. I loved the salsa and the duck meal. It was a medium portion. I would definitely go back

Google
Food was very delicious and definitely Mexican fine dining. Tableside Guacamole was fun and yummy, they prepare it near the table, fresh from avocados. Stacked Enchiladas topped with a over easy egg was awesome. Would definitely recommenda Ma Dia.

Google
To start with, the food was great! I had the stacked enchiladas, and they were delicious. We were a party of 6 and everyone's food was good. The table side guacamole had to much onion for my taste, but it was still good. My only complaint is the server was not very friendly and it took forever to get our drinks. I had to let her know as she walked by we were ready to order. It was a little busy but not crazy to warrant the slow service. She did seem to get a little better at the end. We were there for a birthday and not one time did she mention a dessert or anything. Overall, we had a nice time and will return.

Yelp
I have lived in north texas going on 5 years and have FINALLY found my go to Mexican restaurant! West coast Mexican food is very different from tex mex and the Mexican food I find here in texas. Cali-mex reigns supreme to me, and I felt so disappointed in the Mexican food I experienced in the dallas metroplex. That disappointed is gone now that I have found mi dia! Everything I have tried, from the free chips and salsa, to the shrimp and steak fajitas, to the tableside guacamole has been absolutely delicious! Their drink menu is extensive and all drinks i have ordered have been visually stunning and tasty. I have no complaints about mi dia, aside the fact that it is now causing me to dine out more than I should! Love the plano location, the grapevine location is more fancy with the decor and just as good with their drinks and food. Service is fairly consistent, I have had waitstaff whom were more attentive at the grapevine location. Nonetheless, I haven't had a horrible experience with service so no complaints from.me. it's a popular restaurant and if you go at peak dining times, I understand there can be a bit of a wait.

Yelp
Food was over all ok. I ordered the Huevos Ahogados - almost like an eggs benedict. It was poached eggs on top of masa "boats", topped with a pesto reduction and pickled onions. I was thinking the masa boats would be like sopes but it was not. They were too dense, lacked flavor, and quite dry. The eggs were over cooked and the sauce lacked salt - overall a very underwhelming dish. The fan favorite at the table was the Steak & Rellenos. Portion is good, steak was cooked as ordered and seasoned well. Chicken Tinga Tacos and the Pollo Agave were mostly good. Service was quick once our food was ordered, but it did take a while to get our server to come take our order.

Yelp
First of all, I love this place and believe this is one of the best places to dine Mexican/New Mexican flavors. I come here quite often and highly recommend it to any of my friends to try it out. Unfortunately though, I along with my wife took couple of my friends there for a birthday celebration. The enchiladas Del Mar had old (kinda rotten) garnish all over (note we love this dish and have ordered it so many times). I mentioned this to the server, who called the manager I assume, who was explaining for 10 min that it was normal. At that point I just said it's all good. Do not believe we should feel this way after spending after almost 300 bucks. I never post anything bad on yelp and have never done it before. Never really thought it would be for a restaurant that I dearly love. Suggestion to Mi Dia: please do try to listen to your loyal customers instead of disapproving their experience entirely.

Yelp
Mi Dia is an upscale Mexican restaurant. Their banana leaf salmon is one if my favorite entrees but when eating light at the bar, I usually order their fajita nachos. Their bar is well stocked with a huge selection of tequilas, but I usually order their house frozen margarita. Their bartenders are knowledgeable and efficient. For dessert, I had a white russian paired with their churros with caramel filling, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious!

Kelsey R.

Yelp
My favorite spot for a quick drink before a movie and an amazing appetizers! Fully recommend if you have not been here!

Liza K.

Yelp
I'm going to give this a 3-star. Reservation went smoothly. We made reservations for patio seating over the phone and when we got there their patio is enclosed and not truly a patio, which was unfortunate due to the beautiful weather. We ordered a margarita which I will say was just ok. And then paid our bill and left next door to Princi Italia to enjoy the patio. The issue I have is that it was not related to us in the phone that there is in fact no patio when I specifically said we wanted to enjoy the patio. This was a birthday celebration and as busy women we don't have many luxuries like this to get out and spend time together. Since Dallas only offers about 3 good patio weather weeks we were disappointed.

Sandra S.

Yelp
Delicious food. Consistent. Love the Tableside guacamole. Terrific nachos. Never disappoints.

Arpitha B.

Yelp
There are so many tex mex restaurants in Dallas but its hard to find the good top 20. Mi Dia is one of them. Ambience is great. Plenty of seating. Service was good. We ordered shrimp tacos and chicken enchaladas. Both were great and the presentation was great too! The mojito was ok.

Steven E.

Yelp
Had some fabulous guacamole made table side as well as queso with flour tortillas also made table side. Also some Huevos rancheros. Some of the best I have had on the salsa.

Devin C.

Yelp
This was one of the most interesting and delicious Mexican restaurants I've ever been to! The service was on point and the restaurant was beautiful! We had a group of about 8 or 9 people eating outside and we all left highly impressed with the food and service!

Sara K.

Yelp
The food was subpar and has really gone downhill. But it was the service that was truly bad. It started off fine. But then, we didn't order alcohol and this really seemed to upset our server. He then tried to upsell us on a special seafood & steak thing which we declined and he seemed to take personally. It was a bizarre and uncomfortable experience.

Yelp
2/5 Heart of the Desert (Drink) 2/5 Salsa 3/5 Chips 4/5 Hatch Tacos 4/5 Shrimp Tacos 4/5 Rice and Beans 4/5 Churros I'm not a fan of spicy drinks so my opinion is a bit biased. Tasted spice and not enough flavor. The chips were pretty good, though again, I like mine a little more salty and thicker than theirs. The salsa felt like standard restaurant grade salsa, nothing special. The main dish however, was really good. I got the hatch tacos with rice and beans. It was flavorful, spicy, and filling. It wasn't too spicy, maybe a 2/5 on spice, and the meat was cooked to perfection. My fiancés shrimp tacos were equally as good, as she is the shrimp lover and she gave it her seal of approval. The churros were solid, especially when mixed with the ice cream. Lastly, the ambiance but more importantly our waiter was fantastic. Lovely small talk, knew the menu, recommend the churros and we were not disappointed.

Jamie M.

Yelp
This is a fantastic restaurant! We love the ambience and decor... The low lighting is definitely a plus. Service is always pleasant and quick. The food is fantastic and so fresh! We have been here multiple times and will continue to return because it is that good!

Meaghan W.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for date night bc we'd both been wanting to try it. We were excited to try a new Mexican restaurant patio bc that's our favorite thing to do - margaritas and fajitas on a Mexican restaurant patio! All the pictures of the patio here on Yelp showed an outdoor patio that was covered, which is perfect in the heat. When we got there I said we wanted to sit on the patio, so they took us to an indoor patio completely closed in by a wall of windows. I clarified and said "oh actually we were wanting to sit on the outdoor patio" but they said they don't have an outdoor patio - it was just this one. I have attached a picture of what the patio looks like now - they've removed the fence and replaced it with a wall of windows, so now it's just an indoor patio We only stayed for 1 drink and then left to go somewhere else that actually did have an outdoor patio bc that's really what we were wanting to do I am giving it 4 stars for now bc our drinks were good and they were strong! And the food did look good. But it's missing an outdoor patio. We will come back another time when we aren't looking for an outdoor patio and I'll update my review then about how the food is! I just wanted to get this out there so no one else goes in expecting an outdoor patio

James K.

Yelp
I ate here for a work dinner earlier this week and enjoyed it. The inside of the restaurant had a somewhat spacious feel, with good lighting as well. As for the food, the tableside guacamole was delicious!! Definitely recommend trying this appetizer as it was full of avocados & delicious mix-ins. The Xmas burrito was a huge portion size which was a definite plus. The only thing is if I ordered that entree again I probably would've preferred it without the sauces. Overall though, I would definitely come back here and get their tableside guac again!

Marley P.

Yelp
A great spot for some Mexican!!! The La Mula Verde is refreshing and light! Tastes like they just freshly squeezed the juices. The guacamole is to die for and the bacon is a fun twist on the classic dish. The patio is covered so a great place to sit even in the summer. The fajitas come out hot and the tortillas are fresh! A must order! The steak is beyond tender and the thank and fajitas together are delicious! The service is always on par and they truly care about your dining experience!

Mary V.

Yelp
Everything about this place is stellar whether it's the food, service, or environment. Our server was so pleasant and everything he recommended was on point. It's a cheerful, busy place but not so loud that you can't enjoy the company you're with. The tamales appetizer was incredible. The flavors and seasoning has an addicting spiciness that just creeps up on you. Tacos were stellar as well although I personally would recommend the grilled shrimp tacos if you're a seafood person. The Modelo Negro Chocolate ice cream is perfect in this wicked heat. I can't wait to try all the other dishes at this place. My very tiny complaint is change the online menu to remove the Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche. I was really sad they don't offer it anymore.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Mi Dia has an interesting menu with some delicious food and the ambiance of this location is really nice. We went for an early Saturday dinner and noticed the patio seemed to be where all of the diners wanted to be. We watched people file into the restaurant and then immediately head out to the patio to be seated. It was a lovely day outside, so it made sense! The food was really good and the only reason I am giving a 4-star rating is for the prices. I felt their prices were a little high on some things that should have been more affordable. The cup of queso was $8.50 (and it was just queso. No meat, extras, etc). Also, $2.50 for a can of Diet Coke is a bit outrageous. It is so uncommon for a full-service restaurant to only serve soft drinks by the can and to charge an outrageous price on top of that wasn't cool in my book. I wonder why no soda fountain. Most people want/need drink refills. The soft drink situation is a turn-off for us, so it is unlikely we will return but if that is not something that would bother you, I would say this place is worth a try. Make reservations if you can!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Perfection as usual. I move around to different locations and this one is my favorite. I started the night with the house signature drink. Y'all it's so good. I had three because they're that delicious. I also ordered table side prepared guacamole and it's some of the best around. They top it with bacon and the flavors come together very nicely. Of course I brought home the leftovers! Duh!!! For my entree I continue to get the pollo agave which is a breaded & flambéed chicken breast topped with a shiitake mushroom cream reduction, served with masked potatoes and chayote. I promise you will love it. I literally inhale this dish in its entirety every time. Lol. This is a great place for date night, girls night out or even a solo trip at the bar. Enjoy!!!

Lily H.

Yelp
Mi Dia never disappoints. I always enjoy. every visit. Their appetizers are yummy, especially their l queso and guacamole, which is prepared table side. Their house salsas are really good - both green and red are served with chips as a compliment to your meal. We ordered a lot of beef dishes this visit and all dishes came out cooked perfectly! The meat was so tender and savory and paired well with their yummy bean soup and rice. If you are into mixology, they have awesome cocktails. The presentation of their drinks are great and even better taste great! Their staff is always attentive and really make an effort to make your experience great. They even pack your food for you too if you need to go bags and containers. Overall the ambiance is family friendly and they have several locations across the metroplex.

Laurie N.

Yelp
Visiting Plano Tx. Tried out this place. Loved it. Had an awesome server named Daniel. He was very knowledgeable and smiling. Loved the food I ordered the chicken tinga tacos. Which comes with rice and black beans. I had also ordered a martini. I also enjoyed the ambience. This place felt relaxing. There are Tv On the wall near the bar area. I like the background music. I recommend this place.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Food wasn't good, but portions were big. Everything tasted like it came out of a jar or can--including the chicken. I'm pretty particular about boxing my food, and they boxed my leftovers for me even though I told them "No I can do it" while shaking my head no... like girl the body language and the words were telling you I do not want that.... bunch of old white people there dressed nice...not my demographic so made me feel out of place and should give some insight about the quality of their tex mex...

Vijay N.

Yelp
We got seated after a 10 minute wait as the place was busy. Came here on a Friday for lunch with mine and my brothers families Loved the ambience and the food. My dreamer chicken (fried chicken with a Mexican twist) was delicious Everyone loved their food. Brother and my wife each had the hell freezes over cocktail which they enjoyed. Desserts were good too

Andrew W.

Yelp
Mi dia was good! We ordered the queso steak salad and a special promotion taco and it was tasty! The salad was absolutely massive. And everything was tasty! Our service was a little slow. We had a couple of times for water and to check our check. But overall I would come back and give them a second chance.

desiree m.

Yelp
My family & I went here last night to celebrate a birthday! The chips and salsa was so good, service was great! Drinks didn't take long at all. I had a prickley pear margarita with tajin on the rim.. yum! Lots of drink options. My daughter had the Xmas burrito, it was so huge & she devoured it I had the chicken chimichanga (as pictured) super delicious. The rice is really good, better than most Tex mex places. Truly enjoyed our time. The lighting was low which we like, they do have an outdoor patio which is covered but we decided to eat inside only because it was sprinkling. Will definitely be back with more family!

Matt P.

Yelp
Nothing beats finding a last-minute lunch spot before your flight more than consuming the gooiest, sauciest enchiladas possible. Normally these large, merely gentrified-looking Tex-Mex spots don't deliver on the authenticity, but everything (from the food to the service) was pretty good.

Randal M.

Yelp
The food here is top-notch Mexican. service goes over the top. Highly recommended. It reminded me a lot of Mi Cocina.

Adina P.

Yelp
Good food, very attentive waitstaff. The place is packed even on a random Wednesday, but everything was outstanding. Love that the kids meals come with sopapillas for dessert.

Sara S.

Yelp
We always order to-go from this restaurant and it never disappoints! Whether it's for the whole office or just home the food is fresh, correct, and a quick pick up!

Alejandro Z.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. But pricey but I don't mind paying extra when food and service are worth it. HOWEVER, we had a pretty poor experience in that sense. One member in our party required a chair without arms due to medical reasons. We asked them if they could provide with one and they said they didn't have them. That would be fine except that we saw on the other side of the restaurant, there were several tables with wood, armless chairs. I asked the host but she said all tables were taken. Again, I completely understand if all chairs are occupied but several tables with four chairs only had two people dinning. It is not hard for any server to ask if they could take one of the chairs, and I am sure the guests wouldn't have minded. Instead, they just said "sorry, we don't have any". Needless to say, I was very upset for paying such a high cost and having a family member be very uncomfortable just because they didn't want to go out of their way to switch a chair. Again, food is pretty good but that experience left a bad taste. The

Yelp
Always great food, drinks and customer service. Delicious specials - scratch kitchen. Would absolutely recommend.

Thu N.

Yelp
I will say it. Didn't think it would ever happen, in my opinion, Mi Dia is better than Gloria's. There I said it. The freshness of the food, the fabulous servers, and quality control. For me, the food does not have to be great so long as it comes out temperature hot. Now if the food is meh and served room temp, that's very disappointing. In the last two months, I've been to Mi Dia 5 times. Food ALWAYS come out temperature hot. The chips are always fresh, never stale. It's hit or miss at some places. The salsa tastes like great salsa, and served chilled. I love chilled salsa. Drinks are great. Their frozen margarita is too sweet for me - so Gloria's got that one. Also, not a fan of the Chicharones, can't really say why. All-in-all, great restaurant with awesome food and amazing staff.

Gerri G.

Yelp
I came today because I saw their 'patio' expansion was complete and I wanted to check it out on a quiet day. However, it was too loud from the minute I walked in. I attributed it to being near a table of seven and asked to move to the back corner, which is partially hidden by a wall. The decibel level was still so loud, I tested it on my Apple Watch and it registered at as high as 85 decibels with only five tables seated. The food is always good, but I usually came here as much for the atmosphere of that beautiful patio. I knew I was going to be disappointed when I saw them walling in the patio, but had hoped it might still be a nice spot for chilly or hot days when I saw the floor to ceiling glass windows, but no. I expect this will be my last visit. Ambiance is important and this location doesn't have it anymore.

Kathryn P.

Yelp
Went for mother in laws and my hubby's bday. Service not so great...food ok. The bar manager, Jessica turned it around! She is amazing!!!!! Great customer service skills! Thank you for the yummy desserts!

Aquesha W.

Yelp
Our waiter, Sergio, was amazing ! He rolled out the red carpet for our first visit. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious ! The drinks were the best we've had all year (the flavors and infusions were like no other)! Try the Fig Marg before it's gone . This restaurant is a must-have! Thanks for stopping by, Patty & Ron !

Mariel T.

Yelp
We went yesterday evening for a corporate dinner, and the hosts were SO flexible with our reservation (timing and #ppl). We ordered several items, but I'll call out a few: -Table side guacamole- get this. It comes in a large bowl and is available mild/medium/spicy. We got medium and I accidentally ate a half jalapeño with seeds (and I'm a child when it comes to spice lol). I'd get the mild next time. -enchiladas Del Mar - this was the special of the night. It was very sauce heavy, but good. I'd recommend the tequila pesto enchiladas (with shrimp) over this if you want something fun with seafood. - Sandy's combo is for your usual tex mex lover or indecisive person (oops that is me!!!). It got rave reviews from an out of town foodie. -churros were good, exactly what you expect. Fluffy, caramel-filled, and served with a nice cacao dipping sauce -sopapillas were also a hit. These are a must for me, but the table preferred the churros if you can only get one! I will warn you, their food DOES have that kick. If you're used to tex mex or prefer things a little more mild, make sure to voice that so you order what works best for your palate! We'll be back :)

Mariauna H.

Yelp
My husband and I finally were able to make it over to this place and it didn't disappoint. The customer service was wonderful, and the food was even better. I love Mexican food and could eat pretty much anything, but I decided to stick with my ole' faithful - chicken flautas A.K.A. deliciousness on a plate. The rice was some of the best I've had and their refried beans had a nice cilantro taste to them. After stuffing my face with chips and an entree, I decided to also order the churros. I was initially disappointed that they weren't dusted with sugar, but the minute I bit into them....OMG. Imagine a beautiful combination of sugar and cinnamon (I'm sure there were other ingredients) topped with a warm caramel filling. WHEW! I'll definitely be back JUST for those. SOMETHING TO NOTE: The restaurant is situated in a small area with other restaurants and shops nearby, including Cinemark, which is just a short 5min walk across the parking lot. In other words, it's a perfect option for dinner and a movie with your significant other or friends and family.

Paige P.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing. The steak and rellenos is amazing. The hatch tacos, The drinks, everything is top notch. Recommend 10 out of 10.

Keva E.

Yelp
Food was okay, service was good and had a nice ambiance. I will probably be back to try something different

Julia C.

Yelp
Food and ambiance was excellent. The skirt steak was tender. Guacamole with bacon? Sooo good!! I'm sure we'll be back! It was busy and our server kept us happy.

Ajay S.

Yelp
The chips, salsa, and guacamole are very good. I had a combo dinner with a burrito, enchiladas, and tacos. The didn't serve me a burrito but I was in a hurry so settled for 2 enchiladas. The food was ok. When asking for hot sauce they do not have any and referred me to have some salsa, which they were slow to serve. Overall average at best.

Pamela G.

Yelp
We have visited twice and loved the food, service and environment. Waiter was super helpful. The food was delicious and the drinks were equally impressive. This place is a keeper!

Kyle S.

Yelp
Great food and service. Drinks were excellent. Noise level during the lunch hour wasn't bad, not quiet but not loud either

Jill H.

Yelp
Oh my!!!!! What a fabulous dining experience!!!! Ashley was fantastic- made suggestions and pointed out popular items on the menu. We started with hatch chili queso which I can honestly say that was the best queso I've ever had- and I'm a queso lover from way back!! I ordered the Sandy special. The taco rl carbon was so delicious- the steak was tender and the onions were perfectly perfect. The enchiladas were amazing too. The beef had just enough spice and the enchilada gravy was spectacular . The bf got the ox eye stacked enchilada. The over easy egg was just the right amount of goo to take this dish from amazing to fantastically amazing. Just the right amount of green hatch and red gravy was perfect!! Ashley stayed on top of our beverages and was a delight- just the right amount of hands on. The value and experience far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!!!!

Brent H.

Yelp
Our dinner group selected this restaurant for our quarterly Saturday night outing. This was a group of eight. The menu features upscale southwest/New Mexico styled offerings ranging from appetizers and street tacos to combination plates. The menu is not overly complex and offers something for everyone. The restaurant is nicely appointed with a modern southwest oriented decor. There are concrete floors with bare tables, it is very loud during busy times. Parking is sufficient. Service was adequate. Our waitress was not energetic and seemed somewhat disengaged. She did not inquire about drink refills, but did refill drinks promptly when asked. Meal service was fast and efficient. Prices are reasonable considering the offerings.

Joseph R.

Yelp
You can never go wrong here! Food is amazing and our waitress Bianca was incredible! She kept the chips and salsa coming and constantly refilled our drinks! When we were ready to leave she promptly got to go boxes and containers and even a fresh bag of chips to take home. We've been here multiple times but this last experience was definitely our best! Looking forward to our next visit! It was busy but the service and ambiance is always top notch! The food is always excellent and the table side guacamole is always an excellent treat!

Ariana G.

Yelp
I love that the food is all from scratch, it tasted amazing and great atmosphere! The happy hour house marg on the rocks wasn't very strong I drank it in two seconds so next time I'll try another drink, overall cute place one thing is the server did try to throw my food away when I wasn't done so I just wish they would ask before because it's a. Very nice place

Ginger B.

Yelp
Great menu and selections. And plenty of tequila options too. The duck carnitas tacos were excellent. Service even better. I ate 2 and asked for a to go for my leftovers and wanted to take some of my chips. He wouldn't let me take my 'used' ones and insisted I get a new bag of chips packaged to go with warming instructions and a fresh container of salsa. If I lived in Dallas, this would be a regular stop.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Can't wait to go back! The margaritas as SO good, the food was amazing and the service was wonderful! Easily 5 stars.
