Good local family-owned Mexican Restaurant in Hermosa. Fast, friendly service. Great food. Super neat & clean environment. Couldn't help but notice their live plants were so perfect they looked fake. Overall a great affordable eating experience worthy of revisiting.

I’ve been coming to this place for 20 PLUS years! The dad owned it and now the son does and it’s still the same delicious food and great service! The only place I go to for any Mexican food!

Food is great how ever their supposed complementary chips and salsa usually were complementary not anymore. Now they charge for everything

Brought my niece and sister in law here after me having move away from the area in 2018. The food…delicious! service…superb! atmosphere…clean and inviting! just as I remember. My niece called her friends to tell them she had just eaten the best steak taco of her life. 🤣👌🏽

This place does not even deserves ONE STAR their service has become unreliable. As a paying customer I do not like to be inconvenience by people that do not know how to do their jobs or they do not want to do it. The food there sometimes is good and sometimes it is real BAD. It is the of MANAGEMENT or lack of it that is the problem here they need to be patient with their customers not to accuse and intimidate. NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION. There are better places around.

The food and service was good. We ordered a Gordita dinner and 2 taco dinners. All solid, no complaints on that but they do not serve water which baffles me, you have to buy water and they have a service charge for paying with a card. Not a bad place by any means but me personally, I would go somewhere where I don't have to pay for water.

The Waitress was super nice I have no complaints about her, however the lady in the register I had 2 issues with the first one is that the menu does not have the right price and 2nd one is that they charge $1.50 more if you use your debit card or credit card there are no signs at all no where saying if you use a card you will be charge extra she didn't even notify me when I gave her my card and when I told her I had cash on me why didn't she tell me their is an extra charge she stood quite. Over all I didn't like the food its over-priced for that a good quality the chips were not fresh I wont be going back

This place is a neighborhood gem. I have been coming here for decades. The food is very good! One afternoon I went on line and found a page with their name and menu. I thought wow they are moving up . I was sooo happy.. I placed my order and waited for it to arrive. It's been a week and I'm still waiting. It turns out that it's a third party web that uses all their information and makes you think you are thinking you are ordering directly to the restaurant. Well not the case. When I called the restaurant to find where was my food their response was they were not responsible for it once it leaves the restaurant. I'm like what ??? But this is your driver ?? The restaurant said we don't have a way to communicate with them. Well after hours of research I found it was menustar2 . Called them several times no resolution. I guess next is calling my bank and reporting it as fraud.

This food is absolutely DELICIOUS!! The waitress was so nice and our food came out extremely fast! My friends and I all ordered the enchiladas de asada and they were AMAZING! We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this restaurant the hostess at the register are so attentive and courteous. I always order over the phone and pick it up because I'm not that far from them.

My favorite Mexican restaurant! The tacos de tripa are delish nice and crunchy. La carne en su jugo is one of my favorite dishes as is the Gorditas de Asada. Also the natural fruit juice of carrots, beets and orange juice is always fresh and delicious. The waitress are very nice and friendly. This place is always clean which is a must in a restaurant! Five stars in my book kudos to management for making sure everything is on check ;)

I've been going to this Mexican restaurant for years. I haven't been there for awhile so I decided to go and have a tostadas. The food has always been great but I was disappointed to hear from the staff that if I wanted a glass of water I would have to purchase a bottled water because they no longer serve tap water. I barely drink any type of soda and I prefer to drink water. To have something so basic as water not offered is unthinkable. Even in a high class restaurant you are given a glass of ice water without even asking. So, you are force to pay for water or eat my food and wait to get to my car which I always have water and drink it then. I'm very disappointed the owner decided to implement this new rule. I guess I'll just order my food to go. ‍

While my vehicle was getting a new side window installed at Aaron glass, I walked over to Mi Linda Hacienda and was pleasantly surprised. E X C E L L E N T MEXICAN FOOD! This charming authentic eatery from south of the border has it all going on! Everything I ate was fresh and smelled and tasted fabulous. No lie! Loved it. I ordered a taco dinner, two (2) steak and one (1) chorizo/cilantro/onion ..... My fav! The service was a little scattered as my waitress was inexperienced and young but that is forgivable. Another positive observation was how very clean the bathroom was and that tells me that the kitchen is equally as clean and sanitary. Very impressed! A clean restaurant is very important to me! I highly recommend Mi Linda Hacienda! I had a great dining experience here as I will return! Excellent discovery!

This place serves some mean chips and salsa! Their refried beans and rice and simply amazing! Then breakfast option all day?!?! Whoa! Its super good!!! Their breakfast meals are simply aaaaaaaaaamazing!

Had the asada burrito and I have to say it's been the best burrito I've had in a very long time . Highly would recommend I can't wait to go back !

Decent. Usually the asada is a hit or miss today it was fantastic. We ordered some Pico de Gallo and said "a little spicy" both cups were FULL of more jalapeños than even tomatoes. All in all just average...

I have ordered here before and I tell ya since they have signed on with Uber Eats this place has been amazing. Not only did I get my order delivered before the 22 minute promised window, the food was amazing. I don't know if meeting deadlines kicked this place in gear or they had their best Saturday cook. But never the less it was amazing. The young man that answered the phone was very helpful and delightful. Since Uber has not mastered the menu options yet in delivery service the man helped me through it. All my "notes" from the app were adhered to and my guests were just as happy as I, once we chowed down! This place deserves 10 stars if it would be possible. I totally recommend them and Uber Eats for both their customer service and satisfaction! I'll be ordering back from them for sure. Kudos on this relationship (Neighborhood meets Uber Eats).

The lady at the counter is always super pleasant and always ensures I am 100% satisfied with my order. Not to mention I come here 3times a week Great Food, Great Customer service! Definitely recommend.

This place is awesome,friendly and fast service staff. I've had the lomo burrito which is excellent juicy and tender and also poncitlan breakfast,chilaquiles verdes and mole rojo are to die for.

Okay, so I have been coming here with my family since i can remember. MANY, MANY, MANY years. I've seen all the changes over time. It was our FAMILY restaurant. Every Christmas morning we spent there. When i was smaller, I would go with my parents and now i go with my boyfriend and his kids. One of the waitresses still asks me how my parents are. Many months ago, while having dinner with the kids, we noticed a group of gangbangers walk in and pretty much run the place. They even went into the kitchen and made it clear to the chef, to make sure he gave them the good meat. The owners son even said "what's up" to them as if they were friends. This has always been a family restaurant to me and at that moment i knew it was time to go. The whole feeling of the place just left us uncomfortable. I gave it the benefit of the doubt because we knew the owners and everything and just brushed it off. Over the next couple of times, we noticed we kept getting charged differently. The same meal would basically fluctuate from high to low. In conversation with a friend he said he had noticed that they would add in the tip without telling you (that's why they never give you a receipt). I still didn't believe it, I mean I can basically say I grew up there!! Then i went again, same meal we always have with my boyfriend and kids, something that cost us $40 ended up at $60!!!! I mean that's more than Chilis!!!! and this is a hole in the wall place!!! So I was clearly upset and vowed to NEVER go there again!!!! I went again last night, i love the place the food is DECENT, NOT SPECTACULAR, but convenient, fast, and good, sio i gave it another shot. Well i had the usual which would cost about $20 for just me and the boyfriend, well it ended up being $30 and i physically seen him put in $14.99 for my plate which in the menu was only $11.99. So i got charged basically for the steak plate instead of what i ordered because i noticed the steak plate was $14.99. so what if i did order the steak plate!?!?! Was he going to charge $19.99??!?! Granted, yes, it does say in the menu that prices are subject to change without notice, but damnnnn!!! are they catering it to how much $ they want today! At that the son drives a nice custom truck!!! Must be what i paid for, so can i drive it too?? So yes it is good food, but make sure BEFORE you order if that is what they plan on charging you and ALWAYS ask for a receipt!!!! Make them make you one!! So, as for me and my family, i'm OFFICIALLY DONE, with this place!!!!! They just PERMANENTLY LOST a good maybe 15-20 customers!!

Just eat it all, it's that good. Close to work, been coming in for a couple of years now. Always delicious and the service for take out is always friendly. Just had tacos and rice - never disappointed. They never forget anything in our order, which is nice knowing I don't have to check thru the bag before I leave. Oh and the place is super clean, which is also great for obvious reasons :)

I received return message from owner and decided to give this place a second chance because in been in our neighborhood so long before there was Love In the food . I am sorry but this place has lost The Love of cooking just terrible again I say go else where if you want the good food and at good prices. Message to owner I think you should step in take a look on cooking and customer service as well and yes I ask for you and the response received you were in Mexico. So when you get back hopefully you remember what started you and Love of bussiness just saying unsatisfied customer very sad I come here since I was a child hopefully you dont take this wrong way and take it as advice :(

Good steak tacos! Carbon was my old spot for tacos when I lived in Chinatown, and this place doesn't really compare, but it's good in a pinch and prices are reasonable. I've had the taco dinners with both steak and chicken, nachos con carne, and the shrimp rancheros. Everything is pretty good, not outstanding, but hits the spot when you're in the mood for Mexican. Taco restaurants are everywhere here, and they all seem to be pretty standard. I've also dined in, it's usually not busy and service is friendly. :)

Am I surprised I'm the first to review. No, not really. A cursory glance of the restaurant during my meal, I could tell that none of these patrons were Yelpers nor did they require someone to tell them where to get some good Mexican food in Hermosa. Once I entered, I was quickly greeted with confusion. Is it sit down and order or counter order and take it to your table. Looking at the tables, the one piece four-person metal and laminate wood tables, I thought it was the order at the counter process, but I was wrong. But the super friendly hostess / cashier let me order with her anyways. I ordered breakfast for lunch which consisted of three over medium eggs coated with some non-spicy sauce, a few thinly sliced steak strips with a side of beans, lettuce, tomato and rice. The name of the meal escapes me, but I believe it was the house breakfast specialty because 'Poncitlan' was in the name of the dish. Service was quick, food was hot and the telenovela on the tube was dramatic. What else could you want? Maybe some damn delicious chips and spicy salsa. Don't miss out. They make it in the restaurant. Worth every cent (free, comes with the meal.)

I love all their food...I've been coming here for like about 5 years...never dessapoints me! I know all the waiters here and all of them are very friendly The tacos are great and are my favorite. Really recommend this place and never gets to expensive!

I had some of the best tacos EVER at this unassuming spot. I had to take them to go but I would definately go back for a sit down dinner with the locals. We also got real fresh squeezed orange juice.

Did a carry out order of the carne asada last night and it was horrible. This was the worst carne asada I have ever had. The steak was super thin and had no taste except for the oil taste left from a grill. So disappointing to spend $17.00, get home and could not eat it.

The BEST chicken tacos I've ever had! I've ordered from here several times each time their chicken tacos are spectacular and crafted to perfection. The chicken is tender and juicy never overcooked or dry.

My family and I was out late we were hungry my husband wanted to go to the bakery down the street from there but I talked him into going to this restaurant. I can admit the food is very good there but the customer service there to horrible very rude people that work there. We were asked to move cuz the manger told us we was in the waitress way mind u the table was clean the whole restaurant was clean. I don't know where they wanted us to sit since we did have to wait on them to cook our food. Whenever I'm on the north side of Chicago and I'm hungry I won't stop there ever again. Again the food is good but it's not worth the rudeness we received.

I come here all the time, the staff is super FRIENDLY with prompt service! Great low prices on their delicious dishes which makes me come even more! I come here every week, dine in or for pick and they're very fast at their service!! Btw, their Pico De Gallo hot sauce is the best!!!

I been coming here before they change their name ( they changed it cause three blocks down there was another restaurant with the exact name ) I been coming here since I was 5. I remember this place only having 7 booths! Was super hard to sit and it. The day they completed a full on dinning place was like the best day of my life. I go here one ever two weeks. The owner,waitress and one cook knows my whole family. This is my favorite restaurant. I've brought numerous dates here and none of them are mexicans. They've all loved it. Guaranteed if you go, you'll go back. If you drive, screw the parking meter. I've never paid for it since they put them up three years ago.

I've been eating at this family owned business for 15 years, since it was a small hole in the wall named Lindo Poncitlan , and on past their expansion and name change. I like this place for a couple solid reasons. First reason being it is a very clean restaurant. It is consistently good and taco dinner is cheap. They have the best chips and salsa in my opinion and sometimes go in just for an order to go. If you are a fan of local, quality family owned business and this is definitely one of them!!

Love this place, the employees, and the food! Food is quite pricey but I love the atmosphere here. The girls love when I bring my son and he loves coming here because he gets attention. The chilaquiles, tampiquena, chiles rellenos, and carne asada meals are all my favorites!

I love the food at this place and the service is just as great. The best thing to order are the steak Gorditas. They are so good. They also have chicken, al pastor and cheese Gorditas. Nice small place to have a fast bite with friends, family, or your significant other. Very laid back environment with subtle decorations. I totally recommend it. There is no parking available so you will have to park out on the streets. I suggest that unless you're planning on eating inside, you order your food fifteen minutes before picking it up. This way you're not driving around searching for a parking spot.

I go here regularly for lunch. One of the main reasons I started going (besides the fact that the greasy, nasty, [but super tasty!] hillbilly [it's ok, I'm one too] joint with the poker machines [that actually paid out!] that used to be here closed) is because when they 1st opened I realized that it is only a one story building and, with no apartments upstairs, that significantly cuts down on the cockroach possibility. And, for once, my theory seems to have been correct. Yes, the food is good. Yes, the service is good. YES!!! It's clean!! And I take comfort in that.

Good caldo de pollo (Mexican style chicken soup)...but if you stop in definitely try their steak gorditas! Freshly made orange juice is great when you feel under the weather.

My fiance and myself were in the home depot at cicero and armitage the other night and was in the mood for mexican food so I asked someone that works there where is a good place for mexican food. He told us about mi linda hacienda. The best mexican food we ever had. We had tacos,tortas and gorditas. $1.75 for a taco that's twice the size of most places,steak was tender and spiced just right. When I told the owners son how impressed we were, he brought us some of their homemade flan which was out of this world. Next time we feel like mexican food we will most certain make the half hour drive from the suburbs to go there again.

I've been coming here for years. I love the staff because they are really friendly and get the food out quickly. The food is very good, authentic and tastes great. Usually I can get parking right in front of the restaurant but it's street parking only. That being said I have never had a problem finding a parking spot no matter what time of day we visit. I would recommend starting with platter so you can try a few different types of dishes. If you know what you like, you can definitely find it here.

I consider this place my local family dining restaurant. The menu is Mexican and the service is excellent. When we go here, the restaurant is usually full or almost full and we get a table immediately. The service is very well-timed and we always enjoy the food. I recommend trying a variety of items on the menu although you may feel like you want to settle into a groove of two or three different things if you dine here regularly. They never fail to surprise me. I was a little bit miffed by a recent increase in prices on the menu but they are certainly worth the money.

The food is better than average, but expect to be frustrated with the waitresses and the people who take your order over the phone. I have ordered from them twice (nothing complicated - enchiladas with no beans), and both times the order was messed up. Considering that there is a better option just a block away, or the other great Mexican restaurants in Logan Square, I will not go here again.
