Ecuadorian dinner tables are blessed with some of the finest ingredients in South America; a testament to the country's fertile soil, varied typography and wildly different climates. To get a chance to try Ecuadorian food in Miami is one that should not be missed.
I had the opportunity to visit an Ecuadorian restaurant called "Mi Lindo Ecuador," which is located in Doral, Florida. In this restaurant, you can spend quality time with your family, and besides that you will find all the delicious and unique Ecuadorian dishes and beverages.
The parking is readily accessible; you can park at any time with no problem. Once I get in, I find a casual restaurant, with the Ecuadorian Flag in one of the corners and the menu in one of the restaurant walls.
It is 1: 00 pm and I am with my family. The owner of the place tells us that we have to wait twenty minutes to get a table. The restaurant was really packed. We have to wait standing in a corner of the restaurant until the table is ready.
Twenty minutes pass. We finally get a table. The waitress hands us the menu. After 5 minutes, in a really friendly way, she asks us if we are ready to order, and we say yes. Since we wait for so long, we could think about what we want to have.
At "Mi Lindo Ecuador", they offer a friendly and efficient customer service. In the case of the food, it is fresh out of the kitchen, they bring the plates out quickly. Something I like so much about this restaurant is that anytime we had a question about the food or their services in general, the waitress and even the manager, who come to say hi and to see how everything is going, answered in a professional and friendly way.
The staff is very familiar with Ecuadorian cuisine, even though not all of them are Ecuadorian.
I order Yapingacho. This dish includes eggs, potato omelet with peanut butter on the top, plantains, lettuce, meat, and rice on a different plate.
Accompanying the main course, I asked for an Ecuadorian soda called Tropical.
The food tastes fresh; the potato omelet is soft, crunchy, and not oily at all. Let me tell you that Yapingacho is my favorite Ecuadorian Food. The food presentation at "Mi Lindo Ecuador" is good enough, but I have definitely seen other places where they take more care in what the dish looks like. Pueblito Viejo, a Colombian restaurant, is a restaurant that despite their price range, they put their effort when it comes to the appearance of their dishes.
While I am eating this delicious dish, I definitely felt like I was in Ecuador eating in my aunt's house. Everything is well cooked and mouth-watering.
Talking about the price range of this plate, I personally think that the price for this plate, $10, is reasonable since it has some many ingredients and it is really hard to make. Overall, the prices are a little high. In other examples we have the Ceviche Cuadruple cost $19, Ensalada de Camarones $12, Guatita con Arroz $8, Cazuela Marinera $16.50.
I got a really good impression on my first time going to this Ecuadorian Restaurant. The service was great, the food was delicious, they were really nice with my family and me. It felt like we were in our country again.
I will go back to try more dishes, and see if my feelings about this restaurant stay the same. Whether you are Ecuadorian, or from another country but you want to try our traditional food, do not hesitate and visit "Mi Lindo Ecuador."
