"Mi Pueblito is a Guatemalan and Salvadorean restaurant, with two Eastie locations in Eagle Hill and Orient Heights. They’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which just means more opportunities to order pupusas, plantains, and bistec encebollado throughout the day. Everything here is as enjoyable as the original Bourne trilogy - that is to say, something you wouldn’t mind revisiting from time to time." - Joel Ang

I think there are better places where they make better food and it is worth paying for it. I ordered a breakfast at this place and it was not what I expected. Apparently they make one portion for two people. The food is terrible. In the end I ended up paying $24.00 for this. Never again.

Google
ehh, i wish the food was better as good as we thought it would be. from the pictures online it looks pretty decent. i ordered 3 taco dorados and they were really hard after three bites the crunch was too much. the chicken was marinated and seasoned well. i wasn’t a fan of the american cheese inside of it. my partner got the steak and shrimp fajitas. he said it was “okay”. it was seasoned and a basic fajita. we also ordered a side of broccoli which was seasoned well and steamed with a tiny crunch. the plaintains weren’t under or over ripe. it was just right. the fries weee also crunchy but a light crunch which was perfect. we also ordered alcoholic pina coolatas which i was really excited about and it came out as virgin coolatas. i didn’t finish mine because it just wasn’t what i was expecting. some of the employees were really kind and sweet. there was one who was a bit stale and made me feel like we were asking for too much. our bill came out to $68.00. this location is in a nice spot. street parking can be a little tricky but it’s a quick walk and there’s a park right next to it. overall i don’t think we’ll be visiting again. especially if we’re looking for gourmet food. this unfortunately wasn’t it for me. if you’re starving and have limited options. this spot will keep you alive.

Google
Staying overnight near Logan for a very early flight, and we were looking for a place to eat. I am super picky. I look for gluten and dairy free, but my husband has no restrictions. This can make it tricky. It took some work, but we are very glad we ventured out to Mi Pueblito Orient Heights. I selected the seafood soup. It was delicious. My husband had the steak and shrimp. We both had margaritas. I had the spicy margarita. My husband went with the frozen mango. Again, both were great. The restaurant is on a corner lot with street parking. I saw outside seating, but it didn’t look like there was much of a view. The inside made great use of the space. The atmosphere was casual, comfortable, and clean. Service was wonderful. Plus they still offer mints at the end of your meal! We will definitely come back.

Google
We sat outside and it’s got a great veranda feel for the city. The food was amazing! The beans…so good. Got tacos, nachos and margaritas and all were delicious. Friendly waitstaff. Will return again!

Google
Fantastic food and great service. We had a lovely conversation with our waiter, and the entire experience was charming. While all the other food was delicious, I especially recommend the Pupusas, a delectable addition to the menu. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and experience. A must-go if looking for Mexican food in eastern Boston.

Google
I ordered take out for the first time here and it was delicious! My order was 3 tacos dorados, steak&shrimp plate, and 3 tacos plate. The only critique I have is that in the 3 tacos plate, there was a lump of steak just not properly cut. But I will be back! Everything came out to $50.

Google
Good value for the money. Definitely would recommend.

Google
I ordered the Mexican chicken enchiladas and was super happy with my meal. The chicken was flavorful and seasoned well and the sauce was great well. Not over powering but a great compliment to the chicken. I also ordered a Caribbean margarita which was delicious and super strong.

Yelp
Mexican breakfast The breakfast burrito was a perfect start to the day. Something like we would make at home. The plate I ordered was perfect for me too. 3 pieces of bacon and a nice little omelet. The potatoes were cooked nicely with a little tomato bouillon it seems - perfect. Our servers was friendly and sat us down quickly. The place seems like a cool spot- and it's open pretty late. The decor inside was cool and it was pretty empty when we went.

Yelp
Food is fresh but some dishes are a bit flavorless. Friendly service but a bit slow at times. Really like that they have outdoor seating. Chicken quesadilla was good but chicken fajitas lacked any real flavor. The gem of the meal was the churros. They were delicious and served alongside a giant scoop of ice cream. Overall a decent experience but the food just didn't knock my socks off.

Kelly C.

Yelp
Passion fruit margarita was delicious and balanced. The cheese and squash Pupusa was fresh and hot. They are quite large and a great value. I also sampled a taco dorado which was also delicious. This place is a fabulous gem in the neighborhood! I sat at the bar and service was prompt and friendly. Loved the free chips and salsa while waiting.

Yelp
Came here recently. The waitress was very friendly. I had the beef torta, it was really great. My friend got the enchilada, he Said it was tasty. My husband got the beef quesadilla. He loved it. We were all happy with our plates. Service was fast and friendly.

Lori K.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while walking from the Hilton Garden. GREAT service and huge portions. The beer comes in chilled beer mugs!. All the food was authentic!

Karla P.

Yelp
A shame, I got charged for chips and salsa and a coffee I never ordered, they added gratuity in my check which is funny cause I'm server ... never going back there it used to be one of my favorites spot

Andrea P.

Yelp
The food is good. The service not amazing, but nothing bad. The waitress took so much time to take my order and bring the check, but nothing else. However, the wait was worthy because of the food.

Chun T.

Yelp
I hate to give this place a red flags but our first experience with them is really unpleasure. Their food is amazing, and margarita is not bad, but the service, ugh the service is not on point. Yes, we bring a group of 10 to the restaurant. I understand there is social distancing policy, but we are in the same party, CDC policy is allowing people in the same party seating together or close to each other. I'm okay we separated into two tables but why we can't move these two tables close to each other. At least close a little bit. They literally just separated us one group in the table and one group in the booths, where they still have empty tables around us... it kills the mood already. Second is their price on the bill is different than their menu. This is everyone need to be aware. We found out and showed her online menu price and our bill are different, she told us their system updated the price and raise $3 more but their online menu didn't, and there is nothing they can do about it. Wtf, is that mean we need to verify the price in your system each time while we order the food? No. Definitely no. I'm sad to give this place a no-go as there are so many restaurants around the town. I wish they could provide better service to this neighborhood.

Yelp
Seems like a nice family hustling to make this place run and it shows. Great service and the food, while not completely authentic Mexican is very good. Extra star for not using the little plastic cups for salsa and such. Margaritas are big but nothing special. Good spot in cool location Orient Heights

Robin B.

Yelp
Really good chicken quesadillas. Very good guacamole too. The service was fine. The ambulance is average.

Jess S.

Yelp
Consistently good food. Really nice chicken fajitas, great tacos. Nice size portions. Homemade tortillas. The fried plantains are on point. Hard to go wrong.

Cesar G.

Yelp
Tried their beef soup for the third time. Thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I was again very disappointed. Large order consisting of 2 - 1quart containers, 1 container had nothing but a few vegetables and a small piece of meat, including the bone. the other was basically water with artificial flavoring. I will never order takeout from Mi Pueblito again. The tortillas are good though, I'll probably still buy them.

Marissa R.

Yelp
Not great, but not horrible. My boyfriend and I both ordered burritos (steak for him and veggie for me), as well as a bean & cheese pupusa. I wouldn't say this place is authentic. The rice is white, and I saw another table's plate served with broccoli & carrots... kind of strange. My boyfriend's steak burrito was just okay-- filling portion considering the price, but nothing spectacular. My veggie burrito was sub-par (it had no veggies in it; just rice, pico de gallo, a ton of lettuce, and I think there was a tiny bit of beans). The pupusas were good, although pretty flat and a little soggy. They serve your plates with a side of salsa that's extremely yummy, but not for the weak-- it's HOT! Service was good, and you get free chips & salsa with your meal. It was about $20 for both of us. Probably wouldn't be inclined to come again even though the location is extremely convenient.

Yelp
One of if not my favorite Latin food joint in the heights and maybe Eastie itself. They have a large menu and cater to a variety of allergy's and dietary restrictions. Usually get -Veggie Burrito -Veggie Nachos -Cheese and Bean Papusa It all tastes very unique however my one complaint is the rice they use is plain white rice which is kinda just bleh (change it up). Otherwise the food is solidly consistent and this is one of the first places in mind if we order out. Highly recommend. Also a tip--Ive noticed that even with picking up on Uber Eats the prices on their menu compared to the app are lower so just call it in for a lower price. Looking forward to dining in here once it's safer!

Matthew B.

Yelp
The food was poorly seasoned. Ordered fajitas and the meat peppers and onions seemed to have no seasoning at all. The sides were okay besides the white rice being microwaved. It tasted like the white rice you buy in the freezer section at stop n shop. I mean it makes sense they pay $2.50 for the ingredients and sell the dish for $17. There are much better places out there that put out better quality food. The staff seemed to be somewhat irate and rude, not sure why it is just going to make people not want to tip to their best potential. If I owned this restaurant I would really look into putting more heart into the menu and how it tastes because people can see right through that. For the price you can cook something better at home. FYI the lady behind me kept smashing into the booth I sat in and was making me choke on my food, you might want to change the booth seating as well, it seemed very congested.

Glen H.

Yelp
They have a truly diverse menu. Convenient parking as well. The food is absolutely fantastic and bountiful. The staff very friendly and attentive. Ask for a dark margarita and you won't be disappointed.

Jacky B.

Yelp
I ordered $110.00 worth of food to be delivered to the hotel where I'm staying at. The order included pico, salsa, and guacamole, but we received no chips with the dips. When I called them, I was told that they don't give you chips with your dips. I've never heard of a Mexican restaurant who doesn't serve chips with their dips. I also ordered queso dip. Instead of getting queso dip, we got a block of cheese. When I asked about that, I was told that they didn't have queso dip. I should have been told that when I placed my order. They we're also rude when I called about the order. This hotel recommends restaurants to their guests, as a lot of people were ordering food while we were there. We have let the hotel know not to recommend them any more and explained why. DO NOT order food from this place.

Yelp
I'd go to 3.5 stars if I could, while I've never had a bad enough experience to post a negative review I certainly have had inconsistent experiences here. From long delays likely kitchen related but poorly communicated by servers. To cold food. And mixed up orders, however their delicious margaritas, and cold beer usually help forget that by the end of the meal. Also they are open breakfast lunch and dinner, and late dinner at that! They can also accommodate crowds and parties. Usually they are true to form, loud music or a football game to watch as you eat/ drink. This is, in my opinion, the best Mexican choice within the 2 mile radius it occupies (and there are many options) We usually order heavy here, and I've eaten most items on the menu, (often I'm in a party of 5) They are a consistent choice for an uncomplicated dining experience.

Amber J.

Yelp
We just are here for a night but SO glad we ventured out in the rain! It was within walking distance of the Hilton! The margaritas are delicious and tacos/quesadillas!! We weren't super hungry so kept it light but WOW ! If you live here or are in the area go there!

Tatyana T.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for pupusas! The food here is great and staff are always friendly. I've been here countless times and only once had an issue with my order. I think it was a new server, she had brought the wrong dish twice! Later she gave us free drinks, which was nice but it sucked that my whole party finished their food while I was still waiting on my dish. Every other time I've been has been great! There is parking, the lot is sometimes full but luckily there is usually st parking as well.

Chris R.

Yelp
This was going to be my 3rd time to this restaurant. However after waiting to be seated and waiting to see signs of a server that never arrived I decided to leave. I thought I may have been waiting for a while so I decided to set a timer for 5 minutes. At the end of those 5 minutes I decided to leave. Foods usually okay michiladas are the best on the block. I'm disappointed I wasn't able to have one tonight. But now I'm off to the restaurant down the street to give them my business.

Ivette L.

Yelp
Very clean, nice waitress. Food is delicious we order 2 steak plates w white rice beans and salad and came with pupusas to the side. And a plate of shrimp diablas. 1 Piña colada And 2 flan dessert to go. We really recommend

Jon G.

Yelp
They are so inconsistent. One day I get charged $5 for delivery. The next day I only get charged $3. Another time there is a minimum to order of $20 and then the next day there aren't any. Finally, when I bring up the inconsistency, they tell me that they don't delivery to my city due to coronavirus (5 -7 min drive) but for the past 7 orders they have, including the prior day food order. It's a shame because I like to support small businesses in my community, especially if they are minority owned.

Shatara C.

Yelp
Omg! My father in law brought me to this place after being recommended by friends and we loved it. Very warm and welcoming. He ordered a pina colada, and it was fresh and raw, and you could taste real coconut. Definitely an A+ drink to me... We both ordered tacos, his with extra avocado, which looked like it had just been cut open and served. I ordered meat tacos, with rice and beans on the side and it was good. I enjoyed the beans and rice very much, the rice had a lot of flavor which says a lot in my book, from all the bland rice I've tasted at restaurants. The drink menu was filled with variety for your taste buds, I would recommend you to go and have a drink!!

Lauren M.

Yelp
I ordered a shrimp quesadilla with specified avocado, cheese, tomato, onion, mushrooms, sour cream. This has not one of those things. Not even cheese. It is only diced shrimp and sliced tortilla. This is truly awful I can not even believe this was sent to a customer it should've been sent directly to the dumpster.

Nora F.

Yelp
I love their pupusas! Stopping by after a day on Constitution Beach has become a much beloved summer tradition.

Julia H.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible!!! One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. All of the staff were so kind and helpful. The food was out of this world and so reasonably priced. If you're in the Boston area, you NEED to try it out!

Diane H.

Yelp
I must have driven by this place....every..single...day when I lived in Winthrop! It's in such a weird area that I would never think to stop. Spicy V. and his lovely wife Kendra introduced me to this place and we each got a frozen Margarita. Spicy V and I got the mango one $10.99 (very very good) and Kendra got the strawberry one! There are plenty of tables so you will never have to wait. It's a mixed crowd so that's great- it means everyone enjoys it. Our woman server was very nice, but kind of slow but I think she was taking care of the whole restaurant..which is pretty big. They have a bar on one side and also high tops and then the other side is a bunch of booths/tables. I ordered for dinner the Camarones "Mi Puelito"/ Mi Pueblito Style Shrimps Con arroz y ensalada / Served with rice and salad for $12.99. They got some nice spicy sauces at the table that you can add to your plate. The guac here was good too. If you are really hungry I would suggest you eat the chips that they give you at the beginning or order an appetizer.

Amanda P.

Yelp
AMAZING RESTAURANT! I love their food, especially their breaded chicken. Staff is very nice and salsa is amazing if you're a garlic lover. Only thing is they do not have Mexican rice, which is odd for a Mexican restaurant. But nonetheless a favorite spot of mine. Parking is easy too!

Belky C.

Yelp
I'm gonna say 3 1/2 stars. This place is good for the money and spacious. They did great helping us celebrate a birthday and were very courteous. However the only problem was my soup was a little on the salty side but no big deal. My real problem was there was no baby diaper changing station. No where to change my baby. It's 2018, I've seen smaller places with stations. Kind of unacceptable.

Marlene C.

Yelp
Food was enjoyable. Large menu to choose from. The problem is with the poor service we received. Although the staff seem friendly, they were too busy talking to each other to notice that we ran out of water and chips. Our waitress didn't even look at us when we were ordering, which was weird and awkward. I asked a question about the menu and she didn't really answer the question. I would come back to give them a second chance though.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Giving this restaurant 1 star is being nice. We ordered Uber Eats and they gave us the wrong order. When we called to see if we could get the right order - a NASTY woman that speaks no English hung up on me. Then we tried to call back - same thing. What a terribly run business w/ food that is barely average (the ground beef is Grade D and barely edible). The ONLY reason why we ordered from them is b/c someone else wanted nachos.

Julia M.

Yelp
Just ordered delivery of the tacos dorados con pollo with sour cream and guacamole. It also came with a small container of what I assume was the sauce/juice from the chicken - sort of like a consommé. On the food delivery app they noted they were "allergy friendly" so I checked off that I have a gluten allergy. The tacos were crispy and pretty flavorful. I would've liked a little more spice, but that's easy to add at home! The guac was simple and the sour cream was really refreshing. If I get a reaction from any gluten I'll update this review, but overall the food was absolutely delicious and I will definitely order again! It was prepared very quickly/arrived ahead of schedule - I can't speak for the service in the restaurant but if you're looking for good takeout this is the place!

Nicolas A.

Yelp
We like this place since long ago, I know this Pandemic has been affecting a lot of people but I think is not fair that we are seating waiting for our food and the person in the kitchen isn't use the face mask. We try to stop the spread of the virus. Please manager be aware of this situation, there's a lot of people eating here!

Daphne C.

Yelp
Such a fan of this place! Next time I go definitely will be trying the frozen drinks. We've been twice and had: quesadillas, chilaquiles, burrito supreme, milanesa, and enchiladas. All of which has been tasty and amazing. You get large serving sizes that are totally worth the price. The waitresses are so kind and helpful. The restaurant is decorated to make you feel transported to Mexico.

Dave K.

Yelp
this place is a hidden jem. It's my go to burrito spot. Free chips and salsa when you eat in and the daytime waitress is awesome. always nice and smiling.

Jacquelyn H.

Yelp
I went here for lunch the other day with my family. We got 2 beers, 3 entrees (shared among 4 people), and 1 side and the whole meal cost us about $50 with tip. The portions were huge, we all left full and completely satisfied. The food is some of the best I have had in the Boston area.

Lisa M.

Yelp
This place was delicious! We were staying down the street and we were going out to eat before hoping on the t for a Celtics game. They had great kid friendly options. One of my sons got a chocolate chip pancake and the other chicken fingers and hot chocolate! My husband and I loved the delicious fajitas. I got a side tamale for 2.50 and it was a meal itself and delicious too! With beers our bill was $53! Free chips and salsa too!

Christopher G.

Yelp
This is one of the worst places ever. Stay far far away from this place. They water down drinks that they over share you for. Then when you get a delivery since you don't want to pay there absurd drink prices they mess it up. I ordered from at least three times trying to to give em another chance. Well I give up. I'm cook with 13 years experience with progression happening in eastie I'll be surprised if they stay open.

Alexa S.

Yelp
Went here tonight for the first time. Good good and inexpensive . I loved my pupusa. The shrimp taco had two many raw onions. My husbands shrimp fajita was "fabulous". The tamarind margarita was huge but pretty watery/tasteless and the wine was meh. The worst issue was the service was ridiculously slow especially since the place was bit full when we got here. Wish it had been more of a homeeun .

Reyes M.

Yelp
I just went there and I bought two soup not only was 16 dollars each it was all water I didn't have any vegetables the worse soup I ever had in my life i won't go back to this place never again

E C.

Yelp
PUT THE FOOD IN MY MOUTH AND YOU WON'T GET HURT. I love their food. It is a little pricey but the amount of food you get is HUGE. My friends and I have had many different dishes from here and never disliked any of it. Eat in, take out of delivery is all good here. I would gladly order from here daily if I had the money.

Laura C.

Yelp
Having never eaten at the original I can't compare the two. We tried the super combo fajita (shrimp/beef/chicken) with both corn and flour tortillas, cheese pupusas, flan and tres leches cake. It was all delicious! The service was great but the place lacked a fun atmosphere. It could have been an off night - the music was sporadic and the tv was on. I can't wait to go back and explore the menu!

Anabel G.

Yelp

Patricia D.

Yelp
Fabulous food, reasonably priced. Newly redone, a wonderful place to grab some of the best Mexican food in the area. Great bar area with reasonably priced drinks. Highly recommend!

Brittany V.

Yelp
Mi Pueblito is one of my favorite restaurants in Eastie, so I was very excited when I saw that they were opening up a location in Orient Heights. I often order delivery or take out from there, and am always satisfied. Their tacos and papusas are my favorite. I highly recommend giving them a try!

serafino R.

Yelp
Well, food was okay, but very expensive for my taste. After all, how much does it cost to make refried beans?
