Mi Ranchito Mexican Restaurant “The Original”

The food came out hot, the drinks were perfectly cold, and the service was amazing! Every visit is consistently great — always a delicious meal and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend the chili rellenos!!!

Hubby and I came here for lunch. It’s our first to dine in this restaurant. Hubby got a burrito plate and it has the burrito, mexican rice, beans, and fried potatoes. Hubby also added an egg, over medium. I had the Milanesa plate, which has the milanesa, rice, beans, and some chopped lettuce and tomatoes. We also ordered the sopapilla. food: we both loved our food. we ate every bit of it. I loved my milanesa. the sopapilla sa thicker than what I prefer, but it was still good, I just didn’t finish it. Service: the server was friendly and was proactive in giving options, like asking if my husband would like a side of fresno chilis to make his dish even hotter; he loved it. Our food was served in a timely manner and it was served hot, which made the food even tastier. Ambiance: It was cool inside. the place has table and booth seating. we sat at the booth which was very comfortable. Restroom: the restroom was clean. Parking: There’s ample free parking. We were even pulling a travel trailer, and it was a lunchtime on a Monday, and we were still able to get in, park, and get out without any issues. I highly recommend this place!

Best Chile Colorado in ALL of Pueblo CO & on their Thursday lunch buffet. So much authentic flavor and great service 🇲🇽 🌶

I felt the need to leave a review.my family and I live in the county and have been long time customers of this establishment. We came in tonight and it was PACKED. The waiters did a great job and handling such a large crowd with only 3 servers. Some people next to us were very impatient and rude to our wait staff which is why I’m leaving a review. The booth directly behind us was calling the waiter a B word and that they would not be leaving her a tip. I heard the entire conversation. The waiter simply informed them that they can’t take stuff off the buffet unless they are gonna pay for the buffet. They wanted free items basically simply because they are “regulars”. The poor waiter was telling them politely and they continued to do it. I could tell my waiter was on the verge of tears because of how poorly they treated her for doing her job. She was amazing to me and my family and I left her a 50$ tip to cover the no tip from the booth behind me. If you’re reading this(rude booth by window in the corner) I really hope you learn to treat people better especially when they are doing their job. Expecting free items and lashing out on the waiter for simply not allowing that and risking her employment is cruel. I heard it all and she was nothing but polite to you guys despite your awful attitude she remained very professional and for that I am impressed. The other waitstaff was doing great and constantly running back and forth to accommodate the large crowd which is not easy. My family has been coming here for a very long time including my cousins, siblings and parents and we’ve worked directly with this restaurant supplying them chile. We always have amazing cuisine and service. It’s a bummer when Karen customers act so negatively to people. We will always support this restaurant and they have the best chile in town! Sincerely a long time supporter. The manager always treats us with respect and kindness. I was gonna talk to her about what I overheard before we left but she was very busy with all the tables and I totally understand. Luckily it didn’t ruin our good dinner tonight and my family and I loved the tacos we devoured. We ordered 18 tacos and they were done very quickly. We go here every year we are in town and we never have we had a bad experience and the buffet is the best variety of food love the sweet rice

I have only been to this restaurant 3 time and 2 of the 3 times the service and food have been horrible! Portion sizes were so small it wouldn’t feed a toddler. The rice was so hard we couldn’t eat it. Prices are a little high for what small amounts of food they give. The service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress pointed us to a table and took our order and that was the last we saw of her. We had to bother another waitress for more water and boxes to go after waiting for 20 min to get boxes. Will most definitely not be going back. Do better Mi Ranchito. If I could give a negative star I would..

My server (never seen her before) I think they have new staff which is very welcome because I’ve had some not so great experiences with the servers previously. I’ll definitely be back if the improvements continue :). The food is great. I had the shrink cocktail and some pozole. My sister had the buffet. Great options and affordable. We will be back. Their margaritas are so tasty

Picked up a small tray of beef enchiladas, a quart of beans, a quart of rice and a pint of salsa to take to our very ill friend - his favorite. It was as good as he said it was. He only missed that he couldn't go there to eat. He did eat more than I've seen him eat all month. Yum! I highly recommend. I'd go back there if I lived close, but live in TX.

Food was good, service was definitely not worth the 17.70 they automatically took out. The server seemed mad, or on a drag. NEVER, once came back to check on us for drinks or anything else for that matter. When one of our guests asked for a refill , he was told I'm not your server but I'll do it....wow, aren't you ALL working for the same place??? We're out of towers and usually will go in to eat with our family from here.... not so sure anymore... you could thank your waitress/servers for that. *towners

We came to Pueblo Colorado to get our annual green chili supply for the year, and wanted to try out Mi Ranchito Mexican Restaurant, mainly because of their buffet. We arrived around noon on a Sunday afternoon.... So we definitely hit the after church Sunday lunch crowd. They were busy, but still had ample seating; a nice mixture of booth seating and bench seating. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table for ten. They were able to accommodate wheelchairs, which was great because we had two in our party. Service was good; our server was still pretty attentive with us even with the majority of us getting the buffet. We were greeted with a warm basket of tortilla chips and tasty salsa. I was ecstatic to discover that they offered menudo and pesole on the buffet line, so that's what I went for! Both were delicious; some of the best menudo I've ever eaten. They provided all the toppings too; fresh cilantro, diced onions, lemons, oregano. They also had a hearty pork green chili stew with potatoes; that was delicious. Everything was seasoned well. The buffet didn't have many items; but still worth it even if you just got the menudo!! Others food items: cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, scrambled eggs and sausage with potatoes, green chili, rice pudding and pineapple jello. I wish they offered tacos or tostadas on the buffet line. They don't replenish the eggs after 12pm. The buffet is open until 5pm. We ordered a pitcher of horchata for $11.95. The buffet was $15.95 for persons over 10; and half price for kids 10 and under. Ambiance was nice; they turned the tables fairly quickly and had a steady stream of customers. Menu prices ranged from $10-$20. They automatically add 15% gratuity for parties over 10. Our bill for 10 people came to $215. It was worth the stop in to Mi Ranchito Mexican Restaurant off of highway 50. Check them out for authentic Mexican cuisine!

My family has ordered takeout several times, both lunch and dinner. We have eaten various items from their combination plates, al la carte menu as well as burgers. They have consistently good pueblo style mexican food and burgers. My only complaint is the service for takeout is hit and miss. Sometimes they have an attentive server and other times it takes a few minutes to get someone who has time to grab the to-go bags from the pass. I have never dined in but the restaurant it's self is cute and clean with plenty of parking even when they are busy.

We were passing through on our way home to AZ and craving Mexican food. Our hotel recommended this place and we went late afternoon. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but completely full by the time we left. Best green chili I have ever had, and I have eaten a LOT of green chili! The half and half was the perfect heat level for me. Chips and salsa were legit and I highly recommend the Cadillac margarita!

Great food, great service. Highly recommend at least giving them shot you won't be disappointed.

Good food, great service! We love taco Tuesday's. Getting a beer, tacos and tostadas for two, relax and visit with all your neighbors that walk-in for the night. The buffet for lunch I usually pretty good and changes everyday

Poor customer service from manager Antonio. My family and I witnessed him yelling at his staff member for sitting us down at an empty table after we had waited for 25 minutes. After calling the restaurant and speaking to Antonio he claimed that he had a table waiting for us after he spoke (rudely) to his staff member. He is a liar as he did not say to us (in the restaurant) that he had a table. I strongly advise that people stay away from thia place. I have been a loyal customer for years and this event along with other events have changed my loyalty to this place.

I like Mi Ranchito the buffet has a good variety and is very tasty. The Menudo and posole have a nice spicy flavor. The price I feel is good. This is one of my favorite places to have Mexican food.

The food was dog water bad foog I ordered the bingy banga the chicken one it was aight. The service was not the best took a while. Ambiance was aight not much to complain. Don't recommend go to red robin or something.

THIS PLACE DISAPPOINTS ME MORE THAN MY DAD... do not come here the server makes up so many excuses to why they took so long with the food we were their for a hour just to barely get our food and we didn't even eat bc it was bad disgusting...It's disgusting theirs sm food on the floor I thought their was mouse playing track n field using the fries as hurdles....Do not recommend at all

Food had no taste with the red chili made food over and tortillas were hard for enchiladas with green chili. Server was slow and messed up orders. Then they have the audacity to charge gratuity for parties over 6, they don't tell you anything until you get your bill. The other Mi Ranchito is so much better and they don't charge gratuity. So- I normally don't complain in a public forum- BUT- here goes. So we waited for about. 1/2 hour for a table- made friends with local patrons, truly enjoying our time together. That being said- We were 'needy' for lack of a better but for nothing more than our server to be reminded that she was forgetting EVERYTHING we asked. I worked for many years in the service industry- granted I was not always the best but always trying. I saw that in our waitress, think. We got the bill- granted we had an app 2 margs and had two more shots to them cuz they tasted horrible. No liquor in them just some kind of green simple syrup. Thank goodness my water also had lemon cuz I added two limes two lemons and two more 'shots' of tequila. Not something I would normally do. We still said nothing about the 1/2 oz pours of them, until the bill arrived at that point it was still between the two of us.At another $5 each. WTF? It was well and not even a full oz. The whole time we assured our server that even though we asked a lot- we would make it ok. I was going to pay tip- and my friend the bill- SHE was pissed- about to go off- I asked her to Please let me handle it-as to not make a scene- well asked her what was the measurement if we are paying another $20 for 4, 1/2 pour shots. She replied- we measure- I can even show you. ( she still wasn't very good- but I'm sure today just wasn't her day for some reason or another) I said you don't have to show us- that moment my friend stated- even if you measure with a jigger it still should be AT LEAST 1oz. Hold on- I went from 0 to 100in 1.5 seconds. Another server (curly dark hair) counting tickets or something- and has zero to do being involved in our conversation- looks up with a smile and says - verbatim- 'it a business' I don't even describe what she sounded like to me- cuz I lost it. I say- 'what did you just say?' She repeated it. I said 'I know it is, BUT this wasn't right' I can't remember if she said anything more- and I simply said it was so unprofessional of her to say that- especially when someone is questioning- and being decent-a very high bill- it made 2 disgusting margs $36. What in the actual... you know the rest- She just continued smiling- I told her how rude I thought she was- in the front, in front of many people. Last thing I wanted was to make a scene. Yet there it was in all of its glory. She said something more- that's when I did something so out of character- I said I can't believe how rude you are- you know what ( to my friend) let's go and DONT BOTHER TIPPING!!! It's not me EVER. To not tip- or to cause a scene. I grabbed my kiddo and walked out- stating I will never ever be back. Well my friend stayed after I left- paid the bill, asked the server to show her what they used to measure the spirits. Get this!!!! The ding ding had it upside down- the jigger was UPSIDE down. They never offered, and should have only been charged for two not four. Needless to say- all they had to do Was talk about it- we could have resolved it- resulting in the tip intended. Instead- HER BUSINESS- cost her business- and a bad review- a call to owner or manager tomorrow,and I will continue to tell anyone that ever compares this one to our south side Mi Ranchito- we LOVE them. Always kind servers, efficient, friendly, great food- full drink measurements, and yummy margs. Yes she still received a tip but not the one we wanted to share- Because my friend had better sense than allowed myself in that moment- I bought her a bushel of Chiles at Mussos to repay her for our lunch, only seemed fair- Oh yes, they also don't have the crispy rellenos like the south side. Can't wait for the original next time, when she comes back from DENVER to visit. Golf clap #2!

This place is terrible. Everything was grey and bland. Food is very inconsistent- I.e. my daughter ordered 2 tacos. One was edible but the second was not due to a weird flavor. I wouldn't eat here again. Just an overall disappointing experience for the money spent

I had second thoughts but after eating here my wife and I will return. Prices were good along with the dish we recieved. Fast friendly service. The waitress was very friendly and keep our drinks full .Good job. The salsa was good also not generic tasting.

The only thing I have always loved about this place is the buffet I don't see a point in consign here with no buffet because the wait staff is nothing great.

The salsa comes in mild, and ouch! The service is quick. The family friendly environment is complete with Mexican music roomy booths and Murals for eye catching appeal. Buffet weeknight ends at 7:00pm so come early to dinner. Red chili is hotter than the mild green. Chimichanga beef was excellent with that crisp fresh fried flour tortilla and cheese melted into perfect seasoned beef. Chicken taco on white better than most of Pueblo's attempts at moist chicken. Green chili left something to be desired with a piece of burned food and some thing that we assume are potato chunks in it. Overall great service with our glasses full and plates cleared quickly. Come hungry the meals are affordable and filling.

We thought we would give them a try again. It's been a while since the last time we were there and there service then was awful... nothings changed. Waited for a table for 10 minutes only to be ignored and then told to go ahead and find a table. We found a table only to be ignored again as staff continued to walk past us. 10 minutes no one came by for a drink order or with menus. We gave them another shot and when they walked by again we got up and left. It's unfortunate they haven't improved

This place is great. This is not Tex-Mex a lot of people are used to. It's more authentic Mexican. We found it on a referral from a local. The hot green chili they put on their combination plates is fantastic. Has flavor and heat. When traveling to the mountains my husband and I will always stop here if it's around lunch or dinner time.

I really liked my burrito and the salsa bar. My wife didn't care for her pork carnita's at all. They were fried on a grill or otherwise had a crispy exterior. The prices were excellent and you get a lot of food. I would eat there again.

The food is very good. If you don't mind sitting in booths with torn upholstery, I would go there. Usually a good noon buffet.

Very Disappointed, Was our second visit, and there was several excuses from short of help, to a new cook, to being busy (11 tables vs 4 wait staff) We couldn't get the right order after waiting too long, and one order setting in the window long enough to get congealed, and that chicken was dry from someone that never complains. One of us was so frustrated that by the time the last of 3 orders was brought to the table incorrectly, we left upset. Won't return because we know anyone can have an off night, there was too much to overlook.

This is a little off the beaten path. There are a lot of flies. Forgot to take a picture of food, but not that photogenic. I would not recommend stopping here.

Terrible service. Waited 15 minutes and waitress more occupied on her cell phone. Only 4 tables of people so they weren't busy as an excuse. Save your money as better service and food elsewhere in Pueblo

I've had a few good meals here in the past but the last time I ate there, it was really not good. The Chili Rellenos were so full of seeds it made it hard to eat. I had asked for the hot green chili and it was mild and boring. I then asked for a little more extra hot and it was the same. I think the chili must be different every day because I've had really spicy green chili there on other occasions. The chips and salsa is amazing!

First time I ate at this restaurant with friends. It looked nice and was busy when we arrived. Ordered the carne asada medium well smothered with green chili. Most carne asada I have had has always been strips of well cooked meat with seasonings. This meal was a piece of meat slapped on the plate covered with green chili. I wish I would have taken a picture, the blood could be seen seeping through the green chili and when I cut into it, pure raw. Lost my appetite and sent it back. Did not order anything new. Service was mediocre at best and I actually had to go get the waitress to show her dish. Won't be back with Romero's right down the street.

This place was in walking distance when we had gone to the Bands In the Backyard concert. I have to say that the food was delightful and the pricing pretty good. I had a Carne Asada burrito which was awesome and BIG. Pretty basic on the atmosphere but if you are looking for some good Mexican it can't be beat. I even got one to go and surprised one of my camping buddies who also thought it was an awesome burrito.

Stopped by for lunch. I had the enchiladas which were very tasty. Nothing extraordinary but good food at at a fair price.

Growing up in West Virginia, I'm accustomed to a different style of mexican food. Most of the restaurants I've tried in pueblo haven't been what I'm looking for but this place isn't like those places. I order lunch once a week from this place. Great food!!

Service was HORRIBLE!!! It took a half hour to take hour order. Luckily they had a magician to entertain the kids and smoke 'n mirror the extended wait time. Also the A/C unit was not working in July. Hmmm maybe they were trying to create a Mexico humidity ambiance??? Funny even the magician said he was burning up. I'm not returning to this spot.

Service is little to none. Very slow and unapologetic about it. If you want to eat you are better off eating the buffet it's quicker, not to mention they messed up the order.

Food could not be better!!! Best kept secret in town is- Mi Ranchito has the BEST SLOPPER!!! I think the slopper here gets overlooked because everything else they have is excellent too! They have excellently priced specials and the portions are generous! There's actually a good amount of pork in their green chili!

Do not eat here the manager she is a thief and rude as heck. My bill was 55 and change I gave her a 20 and a 50 she gave me 4 and some change back. When I informed of her mistake she got rude and defensive like a guilty person does. Eat here at your own risk. No wonder other restruants are busy and this place wasn't. The food wasn't even mediocre. The waitress was nice but that's about it.

We eat here whenever we are in Pueblo (Blende). Great food, friendly staff, casual dining. Usually a great buffet too. So many Mexican restaurants (other than Pueblo) are just downright disappointing. This place is the real deal!

I ordered extra chili did not receive any and they charged me over $3.00 for it. When I asked for them to remove the charge they refused and were very rude. The service is really slow but the food is okay if you get what you ordered. We have not been back.

I have been coming here for several years. The.food is awesome, the staff is great, green chili is the best. Eduardo is an awesome server, takes pride in his job. This is top of my list for Mexican food in Pueblo.

We went in here over the weekend, and walked in and sat down this was at 11:45 a.m. the owner brought us chips and salsa as always. 10 minutes later we were asked by our waitress what we wanted to drink, as we watched about 7 or 8 more people walk in; mind you the place was not full, and our waitress only had 4 tables with people in them. After about another 10 min we get our drinks after she served one of the couples we watched walk in 10 minutes earlier the only reason we got our drinks was because she was bringing the new couples first, and then after another 10 min she takes our order: We put in the order and another 15 min later I'm waitting for my food and the couples that walked in way long after us have been served their food, and we are still waiting for ours, and my Husband got the Buffet and could not eat because it had no food in it, so after about another 10 min we had finished our drinks, and watched the waitress walk by our table many times not once asking if we needed a refill, or saying Sorry it's taking so long. We just put money on the table for the Soda we had. We will never go into this place again.
