Yelp
I grew up in Humble, so every time I come back to visit the family, Tex-Mex is always on the top of the list for what to eat. Since I've moved away, a lot of places have popped up increasing the competition for Tex-Mex, but this place can hold its own when it comes to food. I do sea areas of oppurtunity when it comes to the service, which has been hit or miss on the times that I have come here.
Food: 4 stars. The food is well seasoned and has good, authentic flavor. The rice and beans are done very well, and the salsa is nice and chunky (although, I wish it had just a tad less cilantro in it). The tortillas are extremely greasy, and are nothing but shortening/lard and flour, so I usually only eat one of them. The enchiladas are probably 3.5 stars, but I usually get the fajitas. The chicken, beef, and shrimp are all good. One thing I am not a fan of, is that they put the guacamole inside of a fried tortilla bowl, and put that on top of the sizzling platter. I don't know about you but I like my guacamole cold to room temperature, not warm.
Service: 2 stars: I've been to this location and to the one in Tomball, and this one consitently falls short in service compared to its sister location. Last time I was here,
our waiter never came around. I think it was actually 30 minutes after he took our drinks orders before he came back to take our food orders. Luckily, the bus lady was on top of her game, so our chips and salsa never got empty, but half an hour (before taking a food order) is inexcusable
Price: 3.5 stars. Typical suburb prices. There are cheap and expensive options on the menu depending on what you get, but all in all, not bad.
Couple tweaks in the service department, and this place will be a 4 star establishment.
