Google
We loved Mi Rancho Market. A Taqueria with a meat market inside serving deeellicious tacos. We ordered up the barbacoa, asada and al pastor which was our favorite. Definitely don't sleep on the Hot Hot hot salsa.

Google
Wasn't planning on coming here originally but found this place on Google maps. Immediately walking inside I noticed the cleanliness and the simple layout of the Market. The cashier was very nice along with the crew in the kitchen. I ordered a asada burrito with 3 birria tacos. Waiting for the food, I appreciated the organized placement of goods for sale and the location of the kitchen and seating area. The food was great and the service was professional. Will be back. 5 out of 5.

Google
Don’t know when they moved, but the new location is much bigger and convenient! Across the street from Lowe’s with a large parking lot! Definitely a huge upgrade than the previous location! Had a late craving for their Taco Tuesday and they never disappoint! Amazing salsas and radishes to pair with the tacos as well! 10/10 recommend if you’ve never been! Their carne asada fries is also my guiltiest of pleasure.

Mier Cat

Google
I love their tacos and chivo soup so much that I taught myself Spanish. I really appreciate that they keep your culture and the food authentic. They not only offer the common beef, pork, chicken tacos but also beef stomache, beef tonge and fish. I love them so much. High recommend! 实在太好吃了,牛舌牛胃山羊汤都超级好吃!

TJ Holley

Google
This spot is the real deal. Best Huarache de Pastor I've tasted north of the border!! The birria trio is also mouth watering good, and the taco salad if you're feeling something lean! Tuesday is a great time to come as well, all the meats are tasty and it feels rightfully nostalgic paying roughly 1.50 for tacos. Love this spot!

Google
$1 al pastor Taco Tuesday deal. Can’t beat it. $1.99 for list others. Carnitas was my fave and good carne asada. Definitely recommend. Shared parking lot in the back and booths and high tops dining among the market.

Google
When you are here you with family. No frills, homie, good people making good food. It's a family business and I hope we don't see places like this disappear anytime soon. The steak and eggs burrito is super underrated.

Tim Simmons

Google
Drove out here because it topped a list of best tacos in San Diego and I’m glad to report that the food is indeed amazing. I ended up going with the “Birria de res con chiva” and it was delicious. Tender meat, aromatic and body warming soup with a kick of spice. It’s a small, local shop that is well-staffed, clean, comfortable, and full of good food.

Yelp
Burritos are good and for the price you just can't beat it. Got a few Cali Burritos and they were really good. Place is awesome, tons of parking, and service was fast and friendly. My only complaint is we got one burrito that was a bit oily but honestly if you're hung over it hits the spot. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
I'd give this a 3.5 but the service was friendly and great! Not 5 stars bc the food was good but not mindblowing. I was looking for a place where I could get just carne asada like by the pound (I had just found out I need more iron in my diet and was thinking breakfast burrito that morning anyway). I found Mi Rancho via Yelp of course and saw it was a half hot food/ half grocery store vibe and knew jt was legit from the moment I arrived. So here is my Pro Tip!! When you follow your maps directions it tells you to turn into this lot and initially you will see a big govt building which is confusing. I automatically turned towards the right (don't do that) and had to turn around and go forward the left side of the housing, like around the corner and then you will find this gem hidden. It was popular for sure, a steady amount of patrons getting their $1.49 pastor tacos for taco Tuesday (yum!) and I just got 2lbs of the carne asada and 2 pastor tacos. The meat is carved fresh in front of you kind of like the Brazilian/ Gyro places. I made my own tacos (special tortillas) at home with the red sauce, cilantro/ onions. Pic uploaded. I plan to use the rest of the asada for nachos and quesadillas!

Yelp
Still one of my favorite local spots for street tacos. I definitely preferred their old location by Peterson's donuts, but at least the food hasn't changed since they moved! I always opt for their carne asada tacos and enjoy them every time.
google avatar

Sylvia H.

Yelp
I'm really bummed! Prior to Mi Rancho Market moving, they had the best carne asada but this spot left a lot to be desired. The tacos were still cheap with most under $2.50. This is a small price increase from the previous location. We got a cabeza, al pastor, and 2 carne asada tacos. The best was the cabeza, followed by al pastor, and unfortunately the carne asada wasn't even good. I'm not even sure why / lack of flavor / no char / texture? I've had plenty of carne asada tacos at many other places that were much better. Food came out fast. You can peruse the market to get a drink for your meal. Cheap prices but I miss the old spot.

Yelp
My first time at the newer location and the food is as delicious as ever. I always go for the Al Pastor and Carnitas, but everything is delicious here. I also had a watermelon Agua Fresca....super refreshing, especially when it's 101° outside. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I forgot about this taco shop since they moved from their previous location, but a quick Yelp recommendation for Taco Tuesday had me cruising here for lunch! I' was very lucky when I stopped in as a massive line formed behind me after I finished ordering. Service was great, and the food was quick to deliver from ordering to taking it back home. Extensive meat options, but I opted for the chicken asado, carne asada and Al pastor. The flavor was so well balanced Among all three flavor. My husband ordered the California burrito and it was stuffed full of meat and potatoes. I would definitely come back again to try the other taco options

Yelp
Taco Tuesday deal is awesome - as long as you like adobada/al pastor tacos. Regular prices are also pretty good though. I appreciate the freedom to take as many lemon wedges & as much salsa as desired. Massive drink selection. Cozy seating inside, steady stream of customers. Service is always friendly and fast. Tables might need a quick wipe-off, but nothing too serious.
google avatar

Armando L.

Yelp
Great affordable place but quality control is off. Adobada of tastes different and so do the salsa. Keep it consistent and more ppl will come. Great spot nonetheless.
google avatar

Lyn V.

Yelp
Went here during covid and got birria tacos, they were tasty. After covid we came back and got birria and adobada, was good. We also got cantaloupe Agua Fresca, soooo good! Now I finally went to their new bigger location, the birria was still good, cantaloupe Agua Fresca was also good but their carne asada was very bland. There was no taste to it. The adobada was just ok also, nothing special. I would still come here for the Agua Fresca and birria but will pass on the carne asada
google avatar

Kay M.

Yelp
If you LOVE rice, definitely come here. Yes, this is sarcasm. Food is decent, average. Barbacoa burrito was loaded with rice. That soggy refried type rice which is ok, but I didnt ask for a rice burrito . . . this was the case as well for a different meat burrito ordered too. Tacos were ok, the chivo tasted old. Agua de Guayba was neat, 1/3 of the salsa hit. Id say skip this spot. Ricebombing will not stand, not in this economy!! Also these taco sizes are so meager for what you pay. SKIP PRESS SKIP
google avatar

Yelp
Mi rancho tacos are the best!! You can't have just one. These are the best street tacos. Employee's are friendly food is quick when you order. They play excellent music to.

Yelp
Cheapest tacos I have found in San Diego so far. I tried 3 of 10+ types offered 1. Adobada are pretty flavorful, the same as al pastor, not sliced off the trompe like I prefer. The trompe is only available on Taco Tuesdays when tacos are even cheaper. Today is Wednesday so we missed out. My buddy devoured 3 which is pretty good for him. 2. Barbacoa is pretty dry and not as flavorful. Tastes ok with salsa from the salsa bar and lemon. 3. Chicharron: not what I was expecting. I thought it would be crispy chicharon- but these were soft stewed pieces of fat. If that is not your thing then I wouldn't recommend. However I was shocked to find that these tasted better then all the rest. Definitely a delicious flavor bomb! If you are ok with the texture of melt in your mouth fat, then try these! I also ordered consomé which is fantastic. Hard to screw it up- beef drippings- mmmmm! Overall a great bargain in a hole in the wall market. I just wish they had alcohol so I could've had a Michelada with the food. Very fast service. Easy parking, plenty of seating inside, clean.

Yelp
10/12/2023 Good morning my San Diego Foodies Friends. Well I went to Escondido yesterday to check out Mi Rancho Market in their new location and see if Their Street Tacos are still A favorite. Mi Rancho Market 649 W Mission Ave, Ste 10, Escondido, CA 92025 First I'll say the new location is much larger and nicer. The inside is fresh and clean with several seating sections. The Salsa Bar could use some work but it works for now. I used to eat at the old place a lot and always loved the Street Tacos so my fingers were crossed they would still be good. Now for the Food. They have a great selection of Street Food on their menu. I decided to Go For 6 different Street Tacos. #1 was a Lingua Taco. As always it was Super Tender and Seasoned Perfectly. A Favorite for me at this Taco Shop. Recommended. #2 was a Carnitas Taco. Very Tender and Juicy. Also seasoned Nicely. #3 was a Birria de Chivo Taco. Very tasty. (Goat) #4 was a Borrego Taco. (Lamb) Tender and well seasoned. #5 was a Asada Taco. (Steak) Tender, Juicy and Flavorful. #6 went for The Fish Taco. It's a regular sized taco. Nicely Fried with a tasty sauce. Well they were all very good. They are Street Taco Size and most are Only $1.99 each. I wouldn't get the fish taco again not because it wasn't good but because there are much better Fish Tacos in Escondido. I will stop here still now and then for a great Street Taco or Six Nice Tacos For $1.99 Give them a shot if your in the area.

Yelp
Delicious food at a fair price, it's hard to find this combo now days, but this spot really hit the spot for us. Even the kids loved it!
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
Great spot for some delicious and cheap tacos! We tried the Al pastor and the asada meat, which didn't disappoint. Preferred the Al pasted, but the asada was still good. Highly recommended. They also have great consome for a nice chilly day!!
google avatar

Bianca V.

Yelp
My recent go-to spot. They have an amazing Taco Tuesday Special but during the week the tacos are around 2.60 which isn't bad. They have indoor seating and the place is pretty clean in regard to the salsa bar and tables. Fast service when taking orders and delivering food. Most importantly the tacos are delicious and have a wide variety other menu items.

Yelp
Mi Rancho Market (B- ) : Not bad, but not good enough for the "revisit" list I've been wanting to try out this place given their tacos Mi Rancho Market tacos at $1.99 (al pastor / carne asada) are significantly cheaper than TJ's at $3.25 (adobada / carne asada). Walking in with Penny, my daughter and her boyfriend, I was quite excited. There was no air-conditioning, lights were out, and our party seemed to be the only non-Mexican patrons - all good signs for good tacos! And with four of us, we got to try more things! Carne asada fries (B ): Being Canadian, it was like a Mexican poutine! Seasonings & sauces were good, but the beef lacked crust. The fries were cooked nicely, but they're clearly frozen fries. Good, but quite far from "great." For all the tacos, I think they use a different type of tortilla from what I'm used to. It's thicker, wetter, and significantly doughier and to me, that very much took away from every taco. Al pastor taco (B- ): meat was seasoned quite nicely, but no crust making the overall experience a little flat. Significantly inferior to TJ's adobada. Lengua (B- ): Super tender with good meat flavor, but again, too light on the seasoning. The lengua at TJ's was significantly better. Chicharron on salsa verde (C ): My daughter's boyfriend suggested I try this, and when someone tells me to try, of course I go for it! I guess I had preconceived notions of what the pork belly would taste like, and this tasted very different. A hint of acidity, and it tasted a little gamey. Didn't hate it, but can't say I enjoyed it. Overall, a fun experience, but there are other taco places I would prioritize over Mi Rancho Market.

Yelp
Food: Authentic & delicious street tacos & burritos. Service: Quick & professional Ambiance: It's a tiny store, very casual, it could use an upgrade, but if you need a place to sit for the food you ordered, you can grab a seat. It's by Petersons donuts, they share the same parking lot. Pricing: Average
google avatar

Brittany D.

Yelp
The food is amazing! I love their carneasada tacos. It's hard to find restaurants that actually have spicy salsa and theirs is perfect. The new location is very spacious which is great.

Yelp
Finally a good Mexican place in San Diego. It only took me three years to find one. Their burritos and tocos are great, their soups are amazing and the staff is really friendly. I will go here from now on when I'm craving some Mexican food.
google avatar

Chris O.

Yelp
I've been all over San Diego and have had a ton of great mexican food but this place is by far my favorite! I absolutely love a plate of carnitas tacos, a side of rice and beans with their house salsa! It's fresh, it's authentic and it's so delicious! I can't wait to go back! Enjoy!

Maria Z.

Yelp
Birria de res was not good. Ordered to go and got most fat and not much meat. Service is great but dissatisfied with the birria.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
This place is half taqueria and half small mostly meat and beverage market. If Yelp allowed decimals, I'd give the taqueria a 4.2. But if based mainly on value, I'd rate it closer to 5-stars. Very good street tacos with plenty of good quality meat for $2.29, and only $1.29 on Tuesdays! I got one each of Adobada, Asada, and Carnitas. The Adobada was fantastic with super tender pork well-marinated in Adobo sauce. The Asada was okay in that it was lean with no fatty/chewy pieces, but didn't have much flavor. The Carnitas was tender, but needed more seasoning and some crispy pieces. Three salsas are available at the salsa bar: one creamy mild green, one mild red chile, and one hot red chile. If you want a beverage, grab one at the back before placing your order. No chips and salsa are available. Plenty of seating.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
I was enjoying a doughnut at Peterson's Doughnut Corner, looked around and noticed Mi Rancho Market located next door. I checked their rating and noticed high marks. Always looking to discover a New Mexican place, I walked across the parking lot and into the market. They have some seating inside and I stepped up to order 1 Al Pastor taco and 1 Carne Asada taco ($4.00). They came out piping hot. I walked over to the salsa bar and picked up two of their hottest salsas and a handful of napkins. I stood and devoured them faster than I care to admit. Absolutely delicious and the ultimate flavor bombs. The salsas were fantastic. If I'm ever in the area again, I'm going back. On a side note, they sell a variety of Mexican fruits, vegetables and dried chili peppers. They had a bin of fresh tomatillos that appeared washed with their husks removed. I've never seen tomatillos for sale like that before, It looks family run and is definitely worth a stop if you are craving tasty Mexican food.

Cari A.

Yelp
Came here and ordered four different types of tacos- all were great. Pros: -free parking lot for customers -fast, friendly service -salsa bar is self serve- salsa, lemon, radish -tasty tacos -accept credit cards -restaurant and market -indoor seating is available Cons: -none

Yelp
you know when all the mexican families are huddled up around the tables eating dinner with their kids.. and you have a meld of market and kitchen in one small an open space.. it's a legit place to visit for tacos. We too dragged our kids to huddle around one of the tables and enjoy the super cheap and tasty tacos. Everything was your standard meat, onions, cilantro (no guac or crema on tacos).. but the meat was well flavored and the salsa bar was killer. cabeza (YUM), lengua. carnitas.. all fabulous.. asada was standard. don't get the chicken (we got it for the kids but it was a little dry for my preference). the agua fresca is huuuge and very sweet. I can't wait to try the horchata flavor next time. you can get your fill of tacos for a reasonable price. We LOVED the salsa.. wish they had carrots but the salsa will keep you on your toes. All in all we were all fed and happy leaving here. Service was pleasant and like they were all family. The reception to everyone in their business was warm. We killed a platter of tacos and definitely will be back. Better deal than TJ Tacos which is now $3-4 per taco.. but they break about even in my book (TJ's tastes better for more toppings.. but this price is so hard to beat!). Bonus points for family run and being next to Peterson's donut. We'll definitely be back!! Recommended.

Yelp
I'd like to give a huge shoutout to this place as it's clean, friendly and always on point with great food! My wife and I go here pretty much every weekend and can't get enough. Another shoutout to Louis and Juan. These guys are always working hard along with their crew. But these two brothers are just darn good people. We will always be coming here for great Mexican food.
google avatar

Yelp
Love all their food! Potato rolled tacos, burritos, chivo tacos. Salsas are awesome. Food tastes fresh always. They are nice and efficient. Wish they opened Mondays too! But they deserve a day off!

Yelp
BOMB AF TACOS!!! I was visiting my best friend in San Marcos and right before heading to my flight home she HAD to take me to her favorite taco spot. I'm glad we made the pit stop, because it was exactly what I needed! Delizo us and authentic tacos. I ordered 3 carne Asada tacos and 3 al pastor tacos with a side of rice and beans. I was hoping hoping their beans were more like pinto beans, but that's okay. I also asked if they sold tortilla chips but they didn't. :( The rice was okay, not my favorite. The carne Asada was well seasoned but it was a bit dry. The star of the meal was the al pastor! It was a little bit spicy and still juicy. Paired with their green Creme it was delicious. I was so full but forced myself to finished all 3 because it was so good. Haha I'm glad we stopped by and I can't wait to visit again so I can have these tacos again!
google avatar

Leo C.

Yelp
I need to go back and try more items as I've only been once and had two tacos of carne asada and a huarache de carnitas. The tacos were small, done in 3 bites and the carne was dry but the salsas made up for em. The carnitas were ok, I prefer them to be more crispy and these were not. They had a good taste tho! The huarache was nicely "homemade" which is nice cuz usually most places have those frozen kinds that they fry. This wasn't that. The pic doesn't do justice but they added beans too which is a plus! I'd order it again. The green salsa was the best. People around looked to either have had the tacos or the menudo. Probably stick to that next time. Oh! And the service was quick! Came on a Saturday morning - so no long wait.
google avatar

Yelp
Great street tacos and burritos. Will update the review when we try their Other menu items.

Yelp
Best carne asada tacos in town very clean market by far my favorite taco spot quick friendly service

Yelp
Great taco Tuesday, delicious and fast! This was my second visit and I'll definitely be back

Yelp
My family and I have used Mi Rancho Market for various parties throughout the years. We used them again this past weekend for our daughter's graduation party. Everything was SO good, and perfect. Everyone raved about everything. Can't wait to use them again! :)

Randolph R.

Yelp
A great selection of traditional food reasonably priced. The sopes were particularly good. Crunchy but not tough. Delicious selection of stewed meats and chorizo. Great everyday place.

Ameya P.

Yelp
Wow! Such amazing tacos here. Wish I had found out about this place earlier! I tried the Quesabirria de chivo tacos here and they were so flavorful, every bite was a taste sensation. The Adobada tacos were out of this world as well! Okay, so picture this: a taco wonderland tucked inside a Mexican grocery store. But let's get real, folks aren't here to buy groceries. They're on a mission for taco enlightenment, and trust me, they hit the jackpot! The service here is pretty quick and you won't be waiting a long time for your food to arrive. There are plenty of tables here to plop down and chow down. This was my first time eating here, but I will be back very soon!
google avatar

Alphonso G.

Yelp
This is my go to taco spot. Food is always hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Prices are very affordable. It's also a full on market with a butcher and supplies if the need arises.
google avatar

Thewickes J.

Yelp
These are the smallest burritos in escondido. Also bought 4 tacos and were greast..greasy!. Didnt find the socalled "best tacos" only good thing was the salsa verde. Burrito meat qas greasy also.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Food and service is always top notch. Place looks clean and always my number 1 place to go to when i crave mexican food. Prices are affordable too
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
All I gotta say is... We lived in San Diego since 2017 and now live in Temecula. If we want our Taco Fix, we go straight to Mi Rancho Market, no questions asked! Mi Rancho Market is the only taco place that has been consistent on the taco juiciness, fulfilling flavored meats, and amazing hand made tortillas. What we love to order: Tacos: Lengua, Cabeza, Carnitas, Asada, Adobada We will never go anywhere else unless we're not in the area. Also, they do provide Taquero service! Been going to Mi Rancho for 5 years now and I highly recommend them. Recommend: 10/10
google avatar

Martin L.

Yelp
This is the definition of hole in the wall. Small unassuming market w the best street tacos!!!! My go to spot for some great Mexican tacos. Favorite by far is lengua with a side of menudo! Salsa is also has some serious heat. Getting hungry just thinking about if. :-9
google avatar

Kerry M.

Yelp
The fish taco and California burritos were great. Seating is plentiful. Service is friendly. Prices and portions are good. Fresh salsa options elevated the meal. Carne asada fries were undercooked. Chicken quesadilla came out as a burrito lacking flavor. Not a perfect meal but we will try it again.
google avatar

Shong H.

Yelp
Came here for their taco Tuesday special, $1 al pastor tacos. I've also ordered their asada, pollo, and carnitas tacos. The best was the al pastor and pollo. The carnitas and carne asada were lacking flavors. They give you a good amount of meat in the tacos and the accompanying salsa are good! I'd come here just for the salsa too. The very hot green and the roja are my favorites to layer on the tacos. Due to COVID-19, you order at the entrance to the market through a hole in the door and then pick up your food at the other door around the corner towards the back where the kitchen is. They don't have indoor seatings but have added tables outside under a tent if you wanted to dine there. I've been here twice already and will be back for more tacos!

Selena B.

Yelp
I found a whole strand of hair in my tacos and when I called the restaurant they hung up the phone on me and told me I had the wrong number but when I went back in person and called the same number, their phone in the restaurant rung. They were very rude and blatantly lied and couldn't simply fix my order .
google avatar

Sharai G.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall place with a great price. Flavors are on point with a big portion on fries. Definitely would go again!
google avatar

Genève A.

Yelp
The owner is super nice and the menudo is the best in San Diego. The carne asada is a very good price for the quality. Their street tacos are fire. Their salsas slap. They marinate their beef in a way that's more flavorful than other places. This institution is a cornerstone of the community and any new owner would be an idiot to shut it down.
google avatar

Hillman Z.

Yelp
I ordered 6 tacos - 2 each of cabeza, al pastor, and asada. Unfortunately almost all my tacos' tortillas split in half while eating which made it a bit messy, even though each taco came with 2 tortillas. The flavor of the al pastor was a bit different from others I've tried and good. Cabeza and asada were pretty juicy and good. The size is a bit small but reasonable for being $2 each. You get two plastic salsa containers for every 5 tacos you order to fill up on salsa.
google avatar

Lupe G.

Yelp
Cabeza tacos are great. Clean, friendly and fast service. With each bite you get the taste of the herbs they use. Like my moms cooking.
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Best street tacos! We eat here at least once a week. My favorites are al pastor tacos and fish tacos. My wife goes for the carnitas tacos and fish tacos. The Aguas Fresca are fantastic too. It's a little family run place that does it right. Not fancy or pricy or a long menu. Just consistently great food and friendly people. It's the real deal.
