Let's start with the basics. The location is easy to find, with ample parking and a large, well-designed sign. The host table is located up front, but there's enough space to avoid feeling cramped. The decor is simple and modern, with tasteful touches of Latino culture throughout. Every employee greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome.
We sat in a cozy booth, though next time, we'll opt for the bar, which looked especially inviting. We tried the house margarita, which was perfectly balanced--not too acidic and with just the right amount of tequila. For our appetizer, we had the guacamole and chips, which were delicious, especially with the spicy pepper spears on the side.
For the main course, we ordered the Gobernador tacos and the chicharrón de ribeye. Everything was flavorful, from the seasoning to the fresh grilled vegetables. The rice was decent, but the beans were a highlight and made up for the rice's shortcomings. The chicharrón was tasty, though it could have been warmer. The tortillas were excellent.
Next time, we'll sit at the bar, try a different margarita, and explore more appetizers. The menu is straightforward and unpretentious, which enhances the overall experience. We'll definitely make room for dessert next time.
We also love the creative use of mall space. The only thing keeping us from giving a full five stars is the pricing, which feels a bit on the high side for what you get!
