As a Dominican, walking into Mi Tierra Bar & Kitchen felt like coming home. The atmosphere, the flavors, and the warmth of the staff made the experience truly special. The food was phenomenal, authentic, flavorful, and made with love. Every bite reminded me of the meals I grew up with. The coconut lemonade was absolutely amazing 😍refreshing, creamy, and the perfect balance of sweetness. The service was just as impressive, and Claudia, my waitress, was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🇩🇴💗

Absolutely loved everything about Mi Tierra. The food, ambiance and the great service from our server Carla! Honestly would make the drive out again to try more food and drink options. I had the coconut limonada as the drink.

Google
A true representation of our Dominican flavor and cuisine. This restaurant, although small, is very cozy. The decor is simple but has a very elegant touch. Let's talk about the food, which was exquisite. We ordered empanada tacos, mofongo with oxtail, and mofongo con chicharrón; everything was delicious and rich in flavor. The drinks were excellent, well-made, rich in flavor, and with plenty of alcohol. We ordered tamarind juquiao, blueberry paradise, cucumber spice, and chinola passion. We wanted to try the espresso martini, but the coffee maker wasn't working. We liked the Chinola passion martini the most, and we ended up ordering 4 of these for the two of us. Something worth highlighting was the excellent service we received from Karla. I would give her more than 5 stars if I could. Even though there were quite a few customers, Karla always took care of us and our drinks. The prices were reasonable, except for the mofongo with oxtail, which, although not on the menu, can be ordered for $42. My boyfriend found the price to be good, as it was delicious and came in a good quantity. The bill was a total of $180 for two people, which I don't find expensive since we had 7 drinks. The only thing I would have liked is if the music had been a little quieter, since we went at lunch time and sometimes we had trouble hearing each other. Other than that, 5+ stars for this establishment, a worthy representative of Dominican flavor.

Google
5 stars Mi Tierra Kitchen & Bar is a true hidden treasure! The food is bursting with authentic flavor — from the perfectly seasoned meats to the fresh, homemade sides, every bite is unforgettable. The Dominican dishes taste just like the ones you’d find back home in the Dominican Republic, which makes the experience even more special. The customer service is just as impressive. The staff is warm, welcoming, and always attentive. They go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your meal, which adds a personal touch that makes all the difference. If you’re looking for incredible Dominican food and exceptional hospitality, Mi Tierra Kitchen & Bar is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Google
This is the best Dominican spot I’ve been in Miami, the food, the ambiance, and the service from karla and the manager Lucy was amazing. I recommend this spot 100% if you’re looking for a more high end Dominican restaurant you should check out this spot. Karla definitely made our experience so much better with her bright smile!

Google
Karla was an absolute delight! From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly sweet, attentive, and professional. She made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. Her positive energy and friendly personality truly elevated the atmosphere, making our dining experience so much more enjoyable. Not only was she great at her job, but she also had a fantastic sense of humor—she had us laughing throughout the meal! If you're lucky enough to have Karla as your waitress, you're in for a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

Google
This restaurant was great. The food and cocktails were delicious. The decor is very pretty and the happy hour deals are fantastic! We were very lucky to be served by Christian at the bar. A young man who was friendly, knowledgeable and quick. We can't wait to go back especially since he said he'd make us some spectacular daiquiris! 😁

Yelp
This place is a real gem in the heart of west Kendall. I recommend the mofongo de churrasco. It was just spectacular, the flavor and the tender juicy meat along with the chimichurr was really tasty. Thanks to Karlita our kind waitress that explained the plates and helped us to decide for one of the most popular. My first time there and I love it. Lina Roman

Yelp
Quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants. The food is excellent, best mofongo I've ever had. The caldo that goes with the mofongo is delicious. The mofongo itself has a generous helping of pork in it. The chicharrón de pollo is seasoned to perfection. The churrasco is tender and also well seasoned. I tried the lemonade this visit which was also excellent, not too sweet and just the right amount of tart. They make it fresh in house. As always, the service was great. Carla, our server, took care of us with a genuine smile on her face, never with the attitude one sometimes encounters at other restaurants. Overall, I highly recommend coming here, not only for the excellent food and service but to support a local, family-owned business who obviously puts genuine love and care in everything they do.

Yelp
Love this new addition to good food and drinks to Kendall! Made a reservation for a Wednesday night and would highly recommend one as this place gets packed. During the dinner service I only saw one lady who was the hostess/bartender/waitress and she was awesome! Definitely lots of options for sharing plates. To start we ordered sangria and passion fruit tequila very good flavors for both. For appetizers we got the fried queso, tacos and fried plantains which were all delicious. For the main entrées shrimp Mofongo and a chicken option. I preferred the flavor and sauce on the shrimp. The overall ambience was great. You can easily have a conversation and enjoy your meal.

Yelp
Mi Tierra overall was a wonderful experience and recommend a visit for Caribbean food lovers especially if you enjoy Dominican Mofongo. The location is very nice, clean and modern looking. It is not a big restaurant but they have a good amount of seating. I highly recommend making reservations as we were sat immediately at our time while the restaurant was busy. The food was delicious (see pictures).. we ordered the - Picadera for the appetizer which was amazing! A big appetizer to share with at least 4 people. Everything on that display was delicious and fried to perfection a 10/10. - Trio de Empanadas- these were pretty good but nothing majorly special about em for us but also fried to perfection a 7.5/10. We were told also that we couldn't substitute the cheese empanada for one of the others ones and that they only do that during the week. - White Rice / Habecheulas (beans) - this was good nothing special either. The beans were a little underwhelming with very faint Caribbean flavor a 6/10. - Mi Tierra Salad - this was very good and a good portion size. Everything was absolutely fresh. My only gripe was that we didn't want cheese on the salad and the waitress told us "no we couldn't" because it always comes in it which seemed strange. When we got the dish they easily could have left the cheese off of this salad. The salad does get a 8/10 for us because it was delicious even though we scooped the cheese off. - Mofongo Chicharron Cerdo - this was sooooo good but beware you have to be a garlic lover. The sauce is very garlicky but I loved it. So if garlic not your thing this is not a dish for you. Also, this dish would have been a 9/10 for me if the pork chunks were just meat and not come with the layers of fat (chicharon) but hands down get a 8/10, very flavorful, fresh, and filling. - Mofongo de Churrasco also very delicious and felt this dish was very on point and quality of meat was pretty good. Another solid 8/10 Mofongo. Service was nice but we had someone who seemed new to serving and had to remind her constantly to refill our waters, or ask for small items as we all do when dinning several times. So the service she provided was very basic but at least she was very nice and polite. We drove all the way from Plantation (Broward County) all the way to Kendall to try Mi Tierra and overall we really enjoyed it. If you're in that area or wish to travel to it as we did we recommend at least a visit! Remember make a reservation just to secure your spot!

Yelp
Come with me to Mi Tierra, located in Kendall, for brunch. I was there on Friday for dinner and returned that Sunday for brunch with my friend Nat. They offer a prefixed menu for $45. You can pick one appetizer, one entree, and unlimited mimosas. Their menu has Dominican classics like Mangu con Tres Golpes and Sancocho, brunch classics like French Toast and Avocado Toast, and fun, innovative dishes like the Quisquella Roll. We each ordered one of the appetizers available: the Empanadas de pollo and the ensalada caprese. The empanadas were excellent--a classic Dominican empanada de pollo. I had the Mangu con Tres Golpes, and Nat had the Quisquella Roll for our entrees. The Mangu was excellent, and each Golpes was a perfect hit. The Quisquella roll was interesting--it is filled with Salami, queso frito, Maduros, and Aguacate. The roll's taste is not what you expect initially, but it's interesting. If you like sushi, you'll enjoy it. The mimosas were good, and the chinola one was our favorite. We also tried their Chinola Cheesecake, a dreamy and fresh delish to end your meal. The cream cheese is whipped, light, and creamy. The gram cracker crust is light and fresh. The Chinola layer on top is gelatinous. Overall, the brunch was excellent. Mi Tierra consistently serves delicious dishes with fresh quality and flavor. I will definitely visit again; I am happy to have another option close by with flavors from home.

Yelp
You want dominican food but in a nice, classy environment. This is not your typical dominican restaurant. Has a nice and open concept well designed, not ostentatious nor superflous, neither a colmadoto style. Just in the middle. Makes you happy to come here. The food is good and well presented too.

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised with the food & service. Very tasty & prompt service. Decor was very nice as well as the ambiance

Yelp
The restaurant is very modern. Very clean. Aesthetically they did a great job. The food itself is good. Quipes are fire. The roll and plate we ordered were good, seasoning was great and tasted fresh. No complaints with taste or presentation. Only issue is the price & portion. $18 for a sangria. Wild. The portions are small and only include one side for entrees which in Latin restaurants they typically give two, so you end up paying more money to include anything else. If that would be modified it would easily be 5 stars. Service was good, the staff was nice. Nice quick lunch date. Just again pricey and portion size does not justify the price.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant in a shopping center - easy parking. The food was solid, we started with the sushi (only 1 on the menu) and it was amazing! Could have ordered another one. The chicken chícharon was crispy, fresh and delicious. We then ordered the shrimp mofongo and it was good. We then had a breakfast special with eggs, queso frito, salami, and mangu this plate was just okay. And lastly, we had the tres leche and it was a decent slice & pretty good. The prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
Mi Tierra Bar & Kitchen is an absolute gem! If you're looking for delicious Dominican food, this is the spot. I started with a refreshing limonada de coco--sweet, creamy, and just the right amount of tang. For the appetizer, I had the queso frito, which was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, gooey and satisfying on the inside. My entree was the mofongo with grilled chicken, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, and the mofongo had that ideal garlicky flavor and texture. I wrapped up the meal with a rich, velvety Dominican flan--a perfect finish. Great service! The ambiance made the experience even better--Dominican music playing in the background and cute decor that added to the vibe. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Ordered from Mi Tierra on UberEats. I tried the mofongo with chicharrón de pollo, a bowl of sancocho, and two quipes. Honestly, the food was just okay. The flavors across the board were underwhelming. The mofongo was dry and lacked the crunch I was hoping for, and the chicharrones de pollo tasted stale -- not fresh at all. The sancocho was decent, but it felt more like a veggie stew than a true hearty Dominican soup. Portions were fine, nothing to complain about there, but nothing wowed me either. If you're looking for something that actually hits the spot, I'd honestly point you toward a local Cuban place over this. It didn't feel or taste like authentic Dominican food, and I probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hot mess. if I had to give the owner some tips this is how it would go: music should match the upscale look of this restaurant 2. don't have some person wheel out trash or whatever that was while you have people eating in the restaurant, it's screaming low class and 3. get real menus, not everyone wants to be scrolling through a phone and the pandemic is over. Are you a vegetarian or a vegan, then skip this place all together. I had mofongo for the first time and I was really excited to try this place out, what I got was over salted food, both the cheese and the mofongo and cold everything. I was discreetly asking the waiter if the food was made at the moment or if they prepared it earlier during the day. I had really high hopes for this place, truly. Prices here seem to be very elevated compared to the quality. I don't know if this is the usual for this restaurant or if they had a staff change or what happened. Service when I went was above average and the food was served quickly. Passion fruit cheesecake was the only redeeming food item. Let's work to change this now before the restaurant gets more of these reviews.

Yelp
Mi Tierra overall was a good experience, and I would recommend it if you enjoy Dominican Mofongo. The area is nothing special, just a strip mall in Kendall. Parking is difficult due to the gym. The place is small, so no large parties are recommended. Unfortunately, they do not allow tables to enjoy the happy hour only at the bar, but most of the staff were sitting at the bar, so they couldn't enjoy it either.

Aidan L.

Yelp
They gave my homie hot ice cream. Fucking how. Nah I'm deadass bamboozled between that and the plastic kicthen set ass water.
google avatar

Ralph G.

Yelp
I'll be honest - this is not a full Review because we ended up sharing an appetizer and dessert. We went with the Picadera - which was very good, but very fried and heavy. Honestly, It just needs something citrusy as a palette cleanser or to cut through the savory. Everything included is tasty, but it's a little too much for just two people. A perfect started for groups of four. The tres leche was very good. The ambiance here was lively an and it didn't hurt that it was Dominican Independence Day (although that was coincidental and not the purpose of our visit). The service was good. No complaints. I'm definitely interested in going back and having a more thorough review

Yelp
The service is very welcoming, they're always smiling and with a good attitude. Food is delicious, typical Dominican food with a twist of modern. The decoration is very boho chic, super cute aesthetic. Love this place for brunch and dinner.

Yelp
Incredible service, amazing food. We had the sushi and the picadera as appetizers and wow we were blown away. Will definitely come back here. Best Dominican spot in Kendall

Yelp
Great place for a Dominican fix! 3 golpes is on point! Restaurant has beautiful decor and a cool vibe. The screens in the restaurant made me wish I was in DR! lol The cocktail menu is very diverse and the menu has all the things you need to give you the Dominican fix you may be looking for. Our server was nice and made our experience enjoyable.

Yelp
First and foremost, YOU MUST TRY THE TACO EMPANADA! If you have any doubt whatsoever or trying out this restaurant, at least try the taco empanada. SOOO JUICY AND DELICIOUS! But I mean, there cannot be a single reason as to why you should not come here. The food is delicious. We ordered the churrasco Morongo as our entree and we loved it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Just know that it gets pretty full, so expect to wait.

Yelp
My mother in law chose this spot as we wanted some Dominican food. I knew nothing and was just down for the ride & was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious! Our waitress was very helpful and provided suggestions. The ambiance was also really nice. It's a little warm since it has windows everywhere but nothing too bothersome. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Let's start off with the appetizers. We ordered the famous empanadas (one beef and one chicken). Delicious! Then we ordered the sushi roll - yummy! For the main course we ordered the pork mofongo and it was another hit! Our server was very helpful and sweet. The restaurant is not big but very nicely decorated with really nice vib

Yelp
Always excited to try put any Dominican Restaurant, but for some reason they all seem to disappoint. Nicely decorated, good service and clean...way to clean, i mean i will never complaint about cleanliness...until now, this time they took it a little far, the constant mopping around the tables every time someone left was a bit too much, slip and fl liability waiting to happen, was the owner there and the employees were showing off how much they work?! Idk // We took some friends from out of town to try it out, we ordered a "morir soñando" they didn't have any available, Picadera sampler, it was the best dish of the all, everything had great quality and tasted delicious, one Quisqueya roll, it was whats expected, just ok, good but not great, maybe the ingredients don't translate well enough to be in a sushi, Chicharrones de pollo with a side of rice and red beans, it was good, they should have the proteins already pre fix in whole dish instead of having to ask for side orders... and also Mofongo with grilled chicken, it was ok but the Mojo was way to salty and too much garlic, it overpowered everything, it destroyed the balance of the Mofongo. Portions and presentation are good, unless you ask for meat, then the prices sky rocket. Overall experience was not terrible i would probably go back to try out the breakfasts.

Yelp

Yelp
First time visiting and can't rave enough about this place. The ambiance is elegantly homey. The food, was portioned well and tasteful. Our server Karla was attentive, and cordial. Definitely a must visit.

Yelp
Our experience was so good the first time we came back less than 2 weeks later lol ! The ambiance is amazing , they're always playing Spanish music which I loved and their decor is lovely. Waitress both times were really nice and gave great suggestions on the menu. Food: * Empanada tacos - meat & chicken- one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life * Mofongo con churrasco- the churrasco was great , I'm not a mofongo fan, I tried it because it was recommended, it wasn't bad but again, don't take my word for this. * cangrejo appetizer - absolutely amazing * shrimp , rice & beans - flavorful *Brunch menu - mangu was amazing Go check them out lol ! I'll be back to try more !

Yelp
I came on a Friday with my aunt and her friend to celebrate her bday. I absolutely loved the vibe. After a certain time the sun the lights more, they have music playing and even a DJ comes at a certain time. I took w of what we drank and ate. I don't remember the name of the food except tres leche (lol), point is that everything was delicious. My lychee drink was on point! Not too sweet and strong enough. I can't wait to go back and try other food items.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
I very rarely write a poor review, and this one isn't even about the food! It's about the guest experience! We arrive and add our name to the list and are told that there is an hour wait. No problem! After waiting about 45 minutes, another customer next to me is talking about the brunch menu, so my husband goes to ask. (Mind you, we were looking at the restaurant website) the hostess comes and tells us that it is brunch only but we could wait til 4pm for their regular menu!!! At no time when adding our name to the list did they say that it was only brunch and on their website either! How disheartening! It was my first time going there and I probably won't be back!

Kathleen D.

Yelp
Service horrible. Served water, no refill or return to table. Half our table got their food 15 minutes before rest. MUST order on own phone while sitting in restaurant...no menus! Food at Best ok, pork dry and salty. Desserts best they offered. Huge full trash bin wheeled thru middle of restaurant during our meal. But they did smile a lot.
google avatar

Meghann B.

Yelp
Visited for lunch today for the first time & the place was packed. The host mentioned there would be a 25 minute wait, so we grabbed some drinks at the bar (Chinola Passion & Cucumber Spice) which were delicious. The wait ended up being less than 25 minutes, which worked out great for us because we were starving. We instantly ordered Pork Chicharrons, Empanada Tacos (1 beef & 1 chicken), and a Quisqueya Roll. Everything was delicious and we loved the innovation that was shown with the empanada tacos. Something about having it in taco form just makes it taste THATA much better. We also ordered the Grilled Chicken and Rice plate, and the Churrasco Mofongo (this dish was amazing and very filling!). We finished with a huge piece of Tres Leches. I can't say one bad thing about anything that we had. The drinks were average price for Miami ($15) which helped bring up our tab, but they do offer a happy hour 4-8pm weekly with bites as well (including a sample platter - Picardera). Service was wonderful from the host, to the bartenders, to our waiter Abe. The atmosphere was adorable and chic! The only reason this place received 5 stars is because the runners on the floor. We had asked for more silverware (fork & knife) and was looked at with a confused face, where one of the runners pointed at the spoon on my aunts plate to basically say "Why can't you use that?". Then only bright one set of silverware when we needed two. But ultimately, this place would get 4.8 stars in my book. Will absolutely recommend and be back!

Yelp
Love the food here ... famiky reataurant with nice decor. We had half of their menu in ourlarge group and everything was delicious. Drinks were yummy as well ... and service was great !

Yelp
Poorly Run Terrible customer service. Waited over 1:15 to never be seated. 2 tables for 5 were available during that time and were not used. The hostess are LOST they do not know if they take reservations or they do. They sure don't know how to greet guests either. Manager was not present to give complaint. I refused to continue waiting on this Poorly run restaurant.

Yelp
I visited Mi Tierra Bar & Kitchen as a recommendation from my cousin. I'm in town on business from Washington DC. Living up North, I don't always get to experience flavors from home; el caribe. So I was very excited for this experience. Shoutout to Carla our waitress, she was awesome and knowledgeable of the entire menu. She recommend the empanadas and my favorite; Los Tres Golpes! She also recommended an amazing cocktail called Mi Tierra. It tasted like a coquito mixed with lemon or a lemonade. It was amazing, I could've had 3 more that day. The restaurant, looked amazing. It was well designed to fit the nature of the food and overall concept. I appreciate the music selection, the decor, and just the feeling of being home. Thanks to Carla and Mi Tierra Bar & Kitchen - I hope to stop back in before my trip back to DC :)

Yelp
Mi Tierra Bar & Kitchen is a small restaurant with a beautiful decoration. We went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was not busy at all. The service was good. The food was just Ok. I was disappointed with what I ordered. I ordered the mofongo with shrimps. I thought I was ordering a plain mofongo, but to my surprise it had big pieces of pork inside. The pork was hard to chew and the food was warm, not hot. My husband ordered a beef stew with rice and beans. He said the beef was tender and good. There are two more negative things to add. They do not provide a physical menu and the music is extremely loud.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
The food was delicious! From the fried cheese we started off with to the mofongo with churrasco. Very good! Ended it all with their passion fruit cheesecake and cortadito. Highly recommend this quaint restaurant.

Yelp
I went this afternoon with my wife and I was looking for some real Dominican food and I really didn't receive what I was looking for... they try to play the Dominican theme, but they don't really know what they're doing. We had a Mofongo and the Mofongo's Chicharron was not crunchy and a lot of fat.I think they're ripping people off pretending that they are real Dominican food..

Jessica T.

Yelp
First time trying Dominican food and it was delicious. Will be back. Service was okay could be better , ambience was super cute and the music

Helen M.

Yelp
I made reservations weeks ago for 3 people. We had to wait about 15 minutes. They ended up seating us in a small table for only 2 people with an extra chair even though there were empty tables for 4. The bartender ended up serving us; he was great! However, the mangu was not great. I probably won't be returning because of the initial hostess service. I did not feel welcome.

Yelp
Excellent service, the ambiance is amazing , we felt like being in DR; the manager Lucy was super friendly and polite with us !!! the food was Amazing!! 10/10 I personally recommend Mi Tierra Restaurant to anyone who wants to taste authentic Dominican food!!

Yelp
Este domingo fuimos a Mi Tierra y quedamos encantados. La selección del menú es exquisita, y la atención de Karla en particular fue impecable, con una cortesía poco común en Miami. Todo un éxito. Volveremos! This Sunday we went to Mi Tierra and were delighted. The menu selection is exquisite, and Karla's attention in particular was impeccable, with an uncommon courtesy in Miami. A complete success. We will be back!

Yelp
Love this Dominican restaurant in this area. We really needed a quality Dominican restaurant in the area with good food, drinks and ambiance. Mi tierra didn't disappoint. We had a Guava splash drink. It was on point for food we ordered a picadera and some quipes. These are hand down the best Dominican quipes in Miami and the picadera was a good size to share and with delicious good quality fried items. I will return to try many of the other items in the menu and will have more of those quipes!!!

Yelp
On Valentine's Day, my original plan was to go with some of my girlfriends to the sushi restaurant right next-door but after waiting two hours being promised for a table at the restaurant, we ended up giving up and trying next-door. This restaurant was such an amazing accidental find. Abe was a phenomenal server. He was very attentive and quick with the food. All of the food was delicious. My favorite the quizqueya roll. I would love to come back and bring my kids here so grateful we stumbled upon this restaurant it is a casual ambience very clean

Yelp
If you are looking for authentic Dominican food, this is not the place to go. Service was good, actually is the only reason why they have 2 stars because food and ambience deserve less than a star. Ambiance was average. We ordered Duo de quipe, that's two kibbehs but they over seasoned. We also ordered two mofongos coronados. One topped with chicharrón and the other one with churrasco. The chicharrón was soggy and chewy and churrasco was well done even we ordered medium. Hope they can change some things in the menu and add some real Dominican dishes.

Yelp
Mi Tierra has beautiful decor and good food. However, there were a couple of aspects that could use a bit of fine-tuning. While the vibrant music adds to the ambiance, it can sometimes be a bit too loud, making it challenging to engage in conversation. Additionally, the restaurant's popularity and limited seating created a sense of urgency, making us feel a bit rushed. I felt like the servers should know how to sell the dishes better and make it appealing. The server didn't explain a specific dish correctly and made the Pastel d' Yuca con Cangrejo appetizer seem smaller than it was and we ended up ordering 3 not realizing the price for one was $17! I was just surprised since things were explained properly. Also we asked but the fish and the sever again didn't describe it with passion and it wasn't ordered. Great place to try if you want elevated Dominican food. Hoping the service gets better.

Yelp
Beautiful contemporary designed restaurant located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. An elegant ambience. My wife and I had an outstanding appetizer (Pastel de Yuca con Cangrejo). My Mofongo with Churrasco was delicious and filling. My wife swears up and down that the salad that she had with the chicken option was something that she would return for. Would we return? Affirmatively yes.
