I knew this was the right place when we drove up! An unassuming building with high ranking on gooogle. No one was impressed with the atmosphere so the food would be great. The salsa was delicious and had a nice kick. Chips were fresh. My fajitas were awesome and the shrimp done perfectly. Beans were excellent. The waiter was warm and quick. Well worth a visit!!!!

Such a great restaurant, and Diego's the real MVP - his hospitality is top-notch, the margaritas are awesome, and the food is delish. If you haven't been back lately, you need to get on that and see the awesome changes the new owner has made and continues to make! Diego's the king of service, making every visit a blast! I will always recommend this spot to everyone.

Hands down best Mexican restaurant in Arvada. The food is fantastic, the drinks are strong and the staff is amazing! Family owned, and they will make you feel so welcomed!

This place is fantastic! 10/10 on the whole package. Cute little spot, nice space, comfortable seating. Food was spot on. Our table had enchiladas roja, quesa birria, and al pastor tacos. All great. Our family came here from Arizona over 20 years ago and hadn't found a red sauce in CO that could scratch that itch for us until now. A+ chips and salsa. The guacamole was clearly made with love. They also make strong, quality, reasonably priced drinks. Mangonada hits hard but goes down easy, and the chamoy straw was wrapped and FRESH (IYKYK). Pina Colada is a sweet one, kinda dessert like. Our waiter recommended their house special drink, I don't remember the name, but I will be a repeat offender. It's crisp, clean, and pairs perfectly with spicy food. On top of all that, the only thing better than the food was the service. I believe our waiters name was Diego, he really helped make my mom's 74th birthday special.

Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover – Mi Tierra Caliente is a Hidden Gem! My wife and I dined at Mi Tierra Caliente for the first time tonight, and let me tell you, we were blown away! Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you — this place is a real find. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Diego, who was super friendly, had a great sense of humor and took great care of us. The service was fast and efficient, setting the stage for a fantastic meal. Diego started us off with the house chips and salsa, and wow — the salsa was especially yummy! It had the perfect balance of flavor, and the chips were fresh, crispy, and addictive. But what really stole the show was the jalapeño salsa that came with the fajitas. It had just the right amount of heat and kick to elevate the entire dish. For the main course, we tried the Enchiladas la Huacana and the Beef Fajitas. Both dishes were absolutely delicious — the enchiladas were rich, flavorful, and the sauce had a nice bit of spice, while the beef fajitas were cooked to perfection. And let’s talk about portions: they were generous! We definitely left feeling satisfied and full. If you're craving authentic, flavorful Mexican food with fast service, Mi Tierra Caliente is the place to be. Don't let its humble appearance fool you; it's a local gem with amazing food. We told Deigo we can’t wait to go back and try even more from the menu!

This place should be busier. It has been so difficult to find good Mexican food in Denver that our whole family enjoys, and we finally found it! It is clean, family-owned and is exactly the kind of non-chain Mexican restaurant you’re looking for.We went with a group, and everyone ordered something different.The fajitas and enchiladas were incredible. The quesadilla was huge and also delicious, and the tacos were delicious as well. Everything had such good flavor and was well seasoned. Even the margaritas were delicious. They only use real lime juice even in the house Margarita, no sweet-and-sour mix. Our kids ordered off the all day breakfast menu and loved their food as well. We are so excited we found this little gem. This is definitely our new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Denver area.

The food is so good here, it's unreal. Lovely service too! The tortilla soup is the best I've ever had by leaps and bounds (I'll be dreaming about it). I loved the fish tacos- perfect texture and taste. The chile relleno and birria tacos my husband had were amazing too, and our date was topped off with an order of their sopapillas. We loved our time here and we will be back with friends!

Why was nobody here? Came for breakfast. Excellent service. The waiter was very nice. Great food. I had the huevos rancheros, my son had the breakfast tacos. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The price was right too. Shocked the place wasn't packed. We will definitely be back.

Taco Tuesday- Cheap and delicious! Every taco I tried was really good, except for the chicken. Which is interesting since I usually get chicken tacos. We've been to a number of the old town Arvada taco spots but none of them have stood out to me. But after coming here for Taco Tuesday, I've been craving it ever since. Great prices and taste. Will be back soon! Also came with free chips and salsa, and got a free refill of chips.

It was a quick fall from grace ever since the original owners sold the business last month. For the past 13 months this has been the go-to spot for authentic michoacán food, based on family recipes, and winning Westword best carnitas for 2024. Had great service and always greeted with a huge smile by the owner and his family. This has all changed. After going this week, we were greeted by a sign on the door proclaiming "New Management" We ordered our usual rounds of typically amazing tasting tacos; al pastor, carnitas, chorizo etc.. They looked similar as in the past, but fresh condiments were missing, they had a pathetic amount of meat for a $4 taco, and no flavor- as if they had been sitting out for a long time. House hot salsa was what I used to use for a good kick, now inedible and bitter. The table next to us had a hell of a time with their bill. They explained everything on the bill was at a higher price than what was printed on the menu. They were also charged $4 for second round of chips and salsa as they were waiting for their food. Woman came in for a to go order and also had problems with her bill. Manager came over and explained they were in the process of printing out new menus and that's why the prices were different. I've never been to a place with that excuse as to why they were charged more, I guess you have to be a mind reader to know what the bill will be. It's a real shame this place has sold, I'm guessing the prices will be raised and in a few months the hand braised carnitas, grilled steak, and homemade chorizo will be replaced by beef and cheese enchilada combo platters.

Sign on the outside says: "Park At Your Own Risk" So I immediately park my car at the window at was sitting. Chips and salsa really good chips had some type of seasoning on it and made it right couldn't stop eating it. Kind of reminded me of old school Doritos from back in the day the way they used to taste before they sold out the system. The menu had a low carb option really appreciate it. Bathroom was immaculate very clean. Also I must add this place was crowded It almost had a five like if you live in Arvada this is the place to be. I ordered the chicken enchiladas. Prices are extremely reasonable I think I'd be like 13 bucks for my meal. Food was decent, (not even close to Los Dos Potrillos in Centennial. In all fairness I am interested in trying this place again because you can't beat the price. Sometimes I hate telling The truth especially when stuff is friendly but at the end of the day I gotta keep it real. Note/ now judging how my stomach feels I don't think I'll be back. Everything was bland I'll stop right there because Luke I said before excellent service ithe problem is whoever is cooking in the kitchen. Side Note: (the day after) Judging how My stomach feels now I'm almost 98% sure that chicken was not fresh most likely it was leftovers They serve me. Please don't get it wrong OK This is not a bashing I cannot stress enough that the customer service here is excellent probably the best I've ever been however at the end of the day flavor and food Quality will always be king. A customer shouldn't be thinking in retrospect that they should've spent their hard earned money at natural grocers. And customers shouldn't be holding their stomach the day after wishing they never ate at a restaurant those read it four stars on yelp. The whole reason we go on Yelp is to avoid experiences like this I know that's why I do. It was pretty sketch that they were only 30 reviews for this restaurant That was four stars. Everything else is perfect about this place Just raise the quality of the food, hire a new head Chef and keep everything the same.

The good reviews aren't lying! I kept seeing all these amazing reviews and thought it had to be too good to be true! I am here to say that the good reviews are accurate and I can't wait to go back! The only downside was that when my husband and I went, the only open seats were at the bar! The food was so good and the service was very friendly.

Stopped in to check out a new place in our neighborhood so far so good received service immediately chips and salsa and our drinks service is friendly. So far the ambience is very comfortable..... this place is gone through a few changes from when it was Luna's and the change that they have now are outstanding in my works. I definitely give them a 5 Thanks For The Read Until Next Time .....

This was my 3rd time at this place , used to be good, today service was horrible we noticed new faces and the food quality is not what it used to be , It's a shame that we had this bad experience at this place cause it's to close to our house food look Great but the chicken was super cold inside and the veggies were burnt I don't know if we are coming back. They also are offering a discount if you give them a 5 review...

This Michocan restaurant opened exactly 1 year ago. I went after work yesterday. After reading a review in the Denver Post and Westword it was on my bucket list. It's a small neighborhood style place with booths and colorful artwork. They have a large parking lot. The menu is quite extensive with appetizers, soft tacos, plates, breakfast items, veggie options, a kids menu and desserts. They have a full bar with a large selection of tequila and mezcal. I got the cinnamon based horchata drink made with milk. I try to not drink alcohol during the week. I got 3 veggie soft tacos, a shrimp and a shredded chicken soft taco. The ingredients were prepared well with two soft corn tortillas underneath each taco. They served a green tomatilla spicy sauce to pour over the tacos. Chips & salsa were complimentary. For dessert, I got the cinnamon sugar churros with a sugar sauce and a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. There were several menu items that I have not seen on Mexican restaurants. So I will coming back to try them. They have no automatic service charge, so tipping is required. The waiter was nice and I spoke with one of the co-owners.

OMG! Love that this restaurant is conveniently located on 64th & Sheridan. Minus bullet holes in the windows, it feels like a cozy neighborhood spot. Great service. Few number of parking spaces out front. Came here with a friend and got a smothered carne asada burrito. SOOO freaking yummy, as was the Tierra Caliente Margarita (with spicy tamarind) that I need to get more of next time. Perfect meal I hope to have again soon!

Worst Mexican food I've ever had. Salsa was watery, had an ice cube floating in it, and they added scallions which is the weirdest addition to a salad I've seen. Beans tasted like they were from a can with no flavor along with plain white rice. Chilaquiles were also very bland with no spice and too many onions. I'm not sure if they are purposely trying to gear their food toward a more American audience but it felt like it. If you are Mexican do not come here because this was gross.

Great for breakfast. Burritos are awesome. And the have carnitas to go on Sunday. Get there and you won't be disappointed

Loved how homey it felt here. The food was authentic and deliciously made. Our waiter was very friendly. So glad this is right down the street from us!

Brought friends from out of town to experience this place. No wonder they are one of Westword's Best of Denver! The carnitas were incredible! Melt in your mouth! Generous portions, attentive service, reasonable prices. What more can you ask for? Looking forward to returning soon!

Came for dinner on a Saturday night as we were craving some authentic Mexican food and we were not disappointed! The inside is clean, tidy, and welcoming. Cocktails were very good. I had the cadillac margarita and my SO had the paloma, both were very tasty. You could tell the marg was made with fresh ingredients and not just a bottled mixer. 5 stars for drinks! As for food, you are greeted with the standard basket of chips and salsa, which were excellent. The salsa was full of flavor with just right amount of heat. We finished it off in no time and our server graciously brought out another basket. For entrees, we decided to split an order of the quesobirria tacos and an order of the enchiladas suisas. Both dishes were excellent, but the quesobirria was phenomenal! I would absolutely get an order of these for myself next time. The enchiladas were also really good and were smothered in a delicious verde sauce and stuffed with carnitas, which apparently are the house specialty. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back! I for one am so stoked to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area and can't wait to explore more of the menu!

Basic Mexican food. The menu is way smaller than a lot of Mexican restaurants but I was satisfied I ordered the house taco and a side of rice and beans and I got my salsa and chips and all is good quick service too

I am so surprised this place has that many high star ratings. We went with a party of 8, apparently they are with new management as of today (6/25). Drinks and food came out so late. Took 40 minutes to get two margaritas. The steak fajitas were burnt, they remade it and it was not any better, it had no flavor. The chicken burrito was not impressive and this carne asada dish we got, the steak was so thin and burnt we didn't even finish it. They were so short staffed that they couldn't rectify the situation. The Al pastor and the shrimp quesadilla was the only thing that was good. The worst part was when all the food came out we were missing an entree, Diego asked my cousin what he ordered and was like oh we actually do not have that in stock. This entree was ordered based on his suggestion so he basically suggested an item to him that they did not have. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out my cousin was so frustrated he did not want to order anything else and have to wait another 40 minutes again. Extremely disappointed we will not be back.

The best Mexican restaurant in Arvada. I'm not kidding. This is NOT Luna's anymore and NOT the Mi Tierra that used to be in Olde Town. The family partners in Mi Tierra Caliente are all from Michoacán and their cooking is authentic to that region of Mexico, where carnitas were invented. Lots of dishes and sauces you won't find other places -- flavorful and everything fresh. Good cocktails too. They renovated the old Luna's from top to bottom, you won't recognize it. The food is as good as Teocalli and Lady Nomada in Olde Town, at half the price, and the people are much nicer.

Stopped in on a whim. We were absolutely delighted with the food, drinks and the service. The fresh squeezed lime margaritas were very refreshing. My wife had some tacos that were top notch, sorry no pic. My carne asada burrito was a 9/10. The carne was fresh and not overcooked. It was also a portion for a normal human, not the burrito that is so big you feel sick after eating. And for once we had AMAZING service. We will absolutely be back.

Wow! This was probably the best Mexican food I've had in at least 5 years. The seasoning and flavors were great and everything was very unique. The service was fast and it was pretty inexpensive. 10 out of 10.

This is a Hidden Gem in Arvada! The salsa was spicy and were complimented well with their seasoned chips. The guacamole was fresh, and Chili Relleno was delicious. My Michalada was made perfectly. We tried the churros for desert, which were warm and gooey with a tres leches sauce on top. We received great service from Natalie, who was super attentive and insightful on the menu choices. On top of all this - their prices were very reasonable. I couldn't recommend this spot more!

Great place for authentic Mexican food, from michoacan region. The carne asada taco was loaded as was the al pastor. The guacamole tostada was stacked high as well. Ajax, the owner was really nice and very attentive. The well tequila is high quality which made their house margaritas delicious and tasty. The atmosphere was great, not loud nor too quiet, music volume was perfect, enough to have a regular speaking volume conversation over food and drinks.

Such a great restaurant. The carnitas are so tender, loved the quesobirra and nachos. The chips and salsa are fresh and the servers are so nice. For sure my new Mexican spot.

I had never had Michioacan style Mexican food before, but now I'm a fan! I tried the morisqueta and it was amazing! The pork was perfectly cooked and very flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. Their salsa and guacamole are also really great. Their margarita was made with flesh lime juice and not too sweet. Everything I had was delicious, this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Arvada!

Food was good with some original and unique flavor (good). Sign needs bigger lettering as we turned too soon following the Google navigation system. We had carnitas 2 ways, both good, over beans and rice and enchiladas with green tomatillo sauce. Chips and red sauce were good, refills $2.

Fantastic, food and margaritas. The ambience is basic. The staff was nice and attentive. I had three different tacos and thought each was really good, and a spicy margarita and a regular margarita, and both were very good, go check it out!

Delicious green Chile. Friendly owners and family operated. A Michoacán spin on the food and local favorites like Chile cheese fries and rellenos. Only been open 3 months but every visit has been consistently good with awesome service. My goal is to try everything on the menu. On a corner with 5 or 6 corporate fast food joints, it's refreshing to have family recipes served at reasonable prices. Found my spot for good Mexican!!!!

Best authentic mexican restaurant in Arvada and it's not even close. It may not look like much from the road, but the food, service, and drinks are all spot on. Also great prices. It's our new go-to. If you like Guadalajara's, this place is a different style but equally as good.

I love everything about this new spot in the neighborhood. Upon walking in the staff is very attentive and welcoming! I very much appreciate how much they cleaned up the space as the exhaust system used to be awful. The ambiance is clean and inviting. And now for the food... everything has exceeded expectations and then some! Fresh, authentic and thoughtfully prepared options arriving promptly and piping hot. The chili rellenos were outstanding and the chicken fajitas were the best I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly prepared. The gooey chocolate churros were far from disappointing. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this new neighborhood establishment and plan to return frequently.

Hidden Gem! This place is excellent! This has become my favorite Mexican restaurant. Great food, Good Prices. I had the carne asada burrito, big size, lots of meat. Even though I was full tried the homemade sopapills with ice cream my son had the churros filled with chocolate and ice cream. Great!!

I found this family owned and operated restaurant to be a true gem, rich with history and great stories. It was a pleasure to talk to the owner and learn! I love the murals and Monarch butterflies on the walls. Ask them about it, they will happily tell you! The food was delicious, fresh and made from scratch. They have several traditional one-of-a-kind options. Can't wait to go back and try more!! So happy to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood. Please support them! From what I can remember, they are open Tuesday to Saturday until at least 8pm, Sunday until 3pm and they serve breakfast all day. Closed on Mondays. They are working on their website to be up and running soon.

This was the best carne asada taco I've had in Colorado, and possibly the best I've ever had at all. Even the green chili at Mi Tierra Caliente was better than any red chili I've ever had, which is a hill I was prepared to die on. I will be back to try more from the menu as soon as I can. The food is surprisingly cheap especially given the quality of the ingredients and the obvious care that went into making these typical Mexican food dishes into something unexpected. If you're not sure where to eat, stop researching on the internet and go here!

Great smothered beef & bean burrito. Talked business first then easy transition to friendly. Looks like a good addition to the neighborhood.

This is a nice little place to eat. The food is very good and well priced. It is family owned and service is very good.

Went there to try out their food and the breakfast burrito with chorizo was amazing had the perfect fixing with onion egg cheese the orange salsa was good had a decent kick they brought out the verde sauce to try and the tangy the zest was amazing 11/10 would recommend thank you the service was amazing
