A few days ago I was able to visit Mia for the first time. I'm very glad we decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, even on a weekday afternoon, the restaurant was packed. We were greeted, however, with a friendly staff member who told us we could be accommodated at the bar. The first impression of Mia was that they had a staff that knew what it meant to serve and be hospitable; skills, and character traits, that have been lost by many at this point in time. Our bartender(server) was very knowledgeable and not only was attentive, but made recommendations. The menu is rather involved, so we appreciated the assistance. Due to time constraints I won't give a full run down of what we ordered, but, I will say, we were extremely impressed with the quality, creativity, and the care that was taken with each dish and drink. A standout... the chicken wings! I never thought I would order chicken wings in a fine dining establishment, but I am so glad I did. The wing was just a conduit for an incredible delivery of flavors. My wife doesn't eat chicken wings... but wanted a second order! The other items riveled the level of quality and impressiveness. For timing reasons, I'll flash forward to dessert a Thai banana cake that, upon arrival, made us question our order. It was displayed fine, but didn't look like cake. But after we took a bite with the accompanying banana slices and the slurry of homemade caramel, we all had our spoons add the ready for bite number 2! Unbelievably delicious! All in all, we were more than satisfied with all aspects of this little gem on The Commons. Common it is not, and we'll be back.
