Yelp
During my visit to Schnebly, I remember them having a beer counter the first time I was there.
During their tour, they mentioned (and showed us) the Tap Room, and that it's now Miami Brewing Company.
So, that's where the beers went!!
Last time I was here, I was not able to try any of the beers - well, actually, I wasn't really into beers at the time but, thanks to my Yelp friends I've found the ones I like and learning more about them.
So, I was happy to be able to try some here.
Tap room was supposed to be open until 4pm or 5pm the day we went.
It was kind of slow (Monday) and Martin (our brew-master that day) had a family thing that had to close early.
We had met him during the winery tour, and had told him we were planning to go to the Tap Room.
Instead of just closing and apologizing for the inconvenience, he came to get us at the wine tasting and letting us know he needed to close early, but that he would wait for us without a rush.
He absolutely did! He told us a little about the beers they had on tap.
Based on what I told him, he made some recommendations.
I ordered a flight - it's 4 beers, plus a souvenir glass (filled with your favorite one) for $14.00
One of the ones I ordered I didn't like so he replaced it with another without any questions.
He also let my sister (non-beer drinker) sample some fruit ones to see if there were any she might consider.
After my flight, I really liked the Jack-O-Spades (pumpkin beer), and the, one he recommended, Flamingo Beer (this has a coconut flavor).
I was a little bummed they didn't have one of the advertised ones I really wanted to try, and thankful he replaced the one I didn't like (only took a sip and new it wasn't for me).
At the end, his recommendation (Flamingo) won and that's the one I chose to fill my glass with, and ended buying a growler to share with my brother.
The Tap Room is very cool and spacious. Enough room to sit, mingle... it has pool tables, and the Blues Brothers to take pics with.
The beers on tap are all written in neon colors at the "bar", and at the other end on a black board, for everyone to see and choose.
Really enjoyed my time there, and really appreciated Martin's excellent service.
He, at no point, made us feel rushed. He treated us like friends, and that casual/ friendly atmosphere is what makes me want to go back for more.
Plus, I need to try their Blood Orange and Banana beers... :p
