Selina, the Hotel for Digital Nomads, Is Coming to the U.S.

"In September, Selina will open its first location in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. You’ll see a lot more of them after that: Though the company can't officially confirm more U.S. locations outside of Miami, they have big plans in the works—and expect to grow to at least 40 locations globally by the end of 2019."

Miami River Inn is as close to an oasis as you’ll find in the city. This historic property is full of charm and character, with lush landscaping, a tranquil fountain, and a beautiful pool that invites you to relax and unwind. The grounds are immaculate, and every corner feels thoughtfully cared for. Despite being just minutes from the bustle of Miami, it feels like you’ve stepped into a peaceful retreat. Whether you’re staying for a night or a longer visit, the atmosphere here is nothing short of refreshing. A hidden gem that blends history, beauty, and serenity — truly deserving of five stars.

The Staff of Miami River Inn are the Best. You leave having had made many friendships among them, and that I will carry forward for the rest of my life. It is a Gem of Miami that truly stands the test of time. I remember staying here 60 years ago when I was 3 years old when my Parents were taking us on a cruise to the Bahamas. It grounds and rooms are truly pristine are a timeless representation of Old Florida that you will not forget any time soon, or in an entire lifetime. I enjoyed speaking with the owner during one of his world class Jazz concerts at his lounge. I enjoyed speaking with one of his staff in the early hours, at the reception desk , Josefina, after my morning walks in the gardens. Truly amazing people. I highly recommend them, and my stay there.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, which made the stay pleasant. The location is convenient, especially for getting around by public transport. The room itself was not very big, but it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Both the room and the bathroom were clean and well maintained. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for money.

Upon Arrival I spoke to a wonderful gentleman Adrian I believe he told me his name was . I wasn’t sure of staying there as I have had bad experiences other places , in Miami . He gave me a tour of property and showed me various rooms . Check in was seamless and Quick and Easy . Room was antique and fantastic . The pool was clean and quiet. It has an old school Miami/ Key west feel. I will definitely be returning

Upon arrival we immediately fell in love with the place. Its tropical charm reminds me of Key West. The Miami River Inn is perfect for a scenic, relaxing getaway. Bring your travel kit to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase at the reception office that is open 24/7. We will stay here again!

What a horrible place to stay. I had paid for two nights and after my first night there I refuse to stay a second night. It looks like somebody just tidied up the room and didn’t clean anything. There was hair on the bedsheets and small blood stains. Hair in the shower. When complained they said there was nothing they can do. I tried to sleep there that night and was woken up all throughout the night from other guests staying there. Each room has a keyless entry and seems like every guest was having trouble opening up their door in the middle of the night and all the alarms were sounding and waking me and my family up all night long. We had a big event the next day. We were all so tired because we barely had any sleep when I brought it up to the front desk and demanded to speak to a manager she refused to get a manager for me. I ended up having to pay for a second hotel And lost all this money. I do not recommend this place for anyone.

I had a great stay at Miami River Inn. The place is cozy, clean, and very well located. I especially want to mention Adrian at the reception — he is very kind, polite, and always ready to help. He made my experience even better with his professionalism and friendly attitude. Thank you, Adrian, and thank you Miami River Inn for the warm hospitality!

When we first entered the hotel room, the bathrooms and toilets hadn’t been cleaned. We had to go to the front desk and ask them to clean it. The pool and surrounding area were extremely dirty, so we ended up leaving without being able to use it. The location is close to downtown, but a bit far from the beaches. The best part was the bar at the back.and the reception staff was friendly.

Yelp
This hotel is so awful, I was compelled to write this review before I even checked out! Let's start with the fact that the entrance of the hotel is very difficult to find. I pulled up to a closed gate and was instructed to call a number from a flyer. I called once and no one picked up. I called again and someone answered, but they were confused about the closed gate. After a bit, they realized the main gate was closed and opened it for me. As I walked in, I immediately saw a DEAD RAT on the ground. The worst part is there were several hotel staff walking past the VERY visible rat. Disgusting! This hotel is absolutely not ADA accessible. There are no accommodations if you can't use stairs. The stairs feel like they're about to fall apart in any second. The rooms are incredibly outdated and don't have AC. They also were not clean - ours had OLD HAIR in the shower! The door to the bathroom door would not close at all. The music is also blasting outside and you can hear it clearly from your room. The fact that they charge a resort fee without having all of the amenities of a normal resort is criminal. We didn't even get hand soap to use?? PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot with a ton of Miami character this is it! I stayed in one of the private king rooms. Victor at the front desk was extremely welcoming and helpful and upgraded me for free! The room was very simple, boutique-like, very cute. There are not many amenities in the room. I did not see a hairdryer, but had brought my own, and there is no television, but it was very colorful and very clean. The bed was comfy! The best part of the hotel is definitely the walking grounds. They have a beautiful space with a pool, a coworking space, a large courtyard and a bar and restaurant. They offer yoga classes every day. I was in town for business and after my meetings my plan was to go explore Miami, but I ended up staying at the hotel for dinner and not leaving! The restaurant is amazing, there are so many great spots to take pictures outside, and the food was very high-end. I had some of the best cocktails in my life and would definitely recommend getting the ceviche and the chicken empanadas! They did play music outside but they ended it at a reasonable hour and it wasn't very loud from my room even through I was overlooking the courtyard. I would absolutely stay here again, and next time I will bring friends!

Yelp
These are old apartments turned into hotel rooms. The smell of the entire apartment was close to a dead body. You must keep the air on very low at all times to keep the smell to a tolerable odor. The decor pillows on the sofa and the beds had disgusting stains and smells. Toss them off the bed immediately and stray your beds down. The showers need to be taken down and a little money needs to be invested. So much mold in the cracks of the shower. No wash clothes available for guest. No trash can in the kitchen. No iron or ironing board in the suites. No elevators for handicapped individuals. They put us on the second floor. If you need noise to sleep know that you can hear everything. Helicopters, people talking in office and outside, car accident all after the hours of midnight.

Yelp
This place disappointed me. I had a very small room without a television, air conditioning or a bathroom. I had to share the bathroom with the other two rooms in the building. The window would barely stay open for a small amount. Luckily it wasn't a hot night or it would have been a lot worse. I asked for extra towels and they did not have any. It was only for one night and I am happy for that. I only paid about $80. The area was okay, but I will pay a little bit more to stay at a way better hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Spend more money and stay at a nicer place.

Yelp
When the room was booked, it did not stated that the bathroom would be shared. I have an injury to my knees and asked for a first floor but was given a third floor with low a ceiling, that being said I could not walk freely in the room. I hit my head more than 10 times. Plus I was charged a resort fee, it is far from being a resort! I booked the room through Booking.Com and they dated I should have been charged.
