Miami River Inn

The is not a hotel. This is a hostel. I paid close to $700 for 4 days and My third floor did not have a bathroom. The bathroom was on the second floor and it's shared with 8 other rooms. My room should have a washroom where I can keep my hands clean and do other cleansing that needs to be done outside of the shower. There are no elevators and my room was on the third floor. The ceiling was low and I bumped my head every day I stayed there. I am only 5'5. I am not very tall. Talk about a lawsuit. Also, they don't provide you with ice, water, coffee, or a fridge. If I am staying at a hostel the least they could do is price the room to a low standard. I thought this was a hotel. I would say this is a very low-quality place. I asked them to bring something to my room which they said I could pick it up in the morning. I showed up in the morning and they didn't have it available. $700 and you can't bring me the extension cord needed for the TV in the room? I saw that it was close to downtown and I was hoping there would be shops and cafes close by which there were not. Do not book here if you want a comfortable stay. They have trash everywhere, outdated/ broken seating, tables and heavy remodeling equipment laying around where people can get hurt. They should dispose or move the broken equipment to an enclosed space where people cant run into it. The pool is not usable as it is very cold even during the hot day. So sad, was hoping for a comfortable stay for four days.

This place is still being developed but when it’s finished (even as-is) it will be one of the best places to stay in Miami. Big self-contained community with event spaces and amenities spanning a huge property. The rooms are comfortable and have great views, and the service quality is excellent. It’s also affordable. This will be a great spot for young/social travelers especially who want the atmosphere of a hostel but the privacy, comfort and service of a resort.

I stayed here for one night before getting on a cruise ship in miami. I was super impressed with this place. First, being the price, it was in a great location only a very short ride to the cruise ship. In general it was really neat with lots of things to do on the property. There was a dance floor, a bar, the next morning people were taking a yoga class on the lawn. The rooms were very clean and nice. We ate at the little restaurant on the property. I guess I'd say that was the least impressive part. The food was a small amount for the price. I thought it was a little overpriced and just tasted okay. But everything else was wonderful and if I find myself in Miami again, I would definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone.

First thing when we arrived, there was only 3 people a head of us for check in and it took 20 minutes just for that. The first thing I wanted to do when getting into our room was shower, but unfortunately we didn’t have any hot water. The guy that was assisting with attempting to fix that issue was extremely nice and accommodating and gave us 6 bottles of free water, but the issue wasn’t resolved and I had to take a cold shower. I also noticed that after walking around the hotel for a while my bare feet which were clean to start were dirty from the uncleaned floors. When we were checking out, the guy that tried assisting us with the water heater, asked us to wait for him while he was fixing a door knob on someone else’s unit. We waited outside in 80° weather for him just to tell us our refund needed to be done through a third party, which we already knew so he wasted our time, but appreciated the thought.

We arrived at noon on 2/14, stored our bags with the front office. We were told check in was at 3, which I knew so we had plans to get lunch and visit another spot for awhile. Returned around 3:30, were told housekeeping was behind but they had to be done by 5. I’ve been a housekeeper before and it’s a hard job. Things don’t always go smoothly so I granted some grace. We accessed our bags to change into our swimsuits in the front office bathroom and visited the pool. There were 2 other groups of stranded guests at the pool and many others milling about in the courtyard. Shortly after 5, my phone was nearly dead so I returned to the front office to plug in and charge. I was hopeful because two people did get their rooms so I got in line. No room. She couldn’t tell me when we would have a room. Not even a guess. At this point it was approaching 5:30, we had dinner reservations at 6:45 and no place to get ready for them. One of the two other guests who got a room had returned to the office because the codes they were given didn’t work. I had been watching frustrated travelers store their bags with no idea when we’d all be getting rooms. I got on booking.com, found another hotel. I informed the front desk person at Miami River Inn we were canceling, we collected our bags, got a Lyft, and were checked in at our new hotel just after 6. Contacted booking.com about our experience so hopefully they don’t get any of our money for no services rendered.

These people clearly don't know what a 3 star hotel is -- had they rated as a 2 star, well, it'd be still a bit high but within range. Shared bathroom, room size of a prison cell, shoddy entrance ... just all around crappy experience -- but had they rated as a 2 star, you could argue you get what you pay for (and prices in Miami are high, so that's why we settled for this place for one sad night (certainly sadder than expected and compared to some of these idiot reviewers giving it 5 star reviews here - I clicked on one of them and he just gives everyone in sight 5 stars so next time we'll have to rely not just on average but see who's giving the reviews)). Bottom line: Crappy 2 star motel-level place, we sucked it up for one night before our excellent cruise -- thank god we booked a better place for after the cruise because this would've been miserable end to vacation.

Not at all like the pictures advertised. This place is old, run down and in ill repair. Piles of trash in the yard. VERY LOUD music playing from the bar area day and night. Very small parking lot which you may or may not get a spot. No maid service, no emptying of trash or soiled towels until checkout, piles up when you stay 4 nights. Less than helpful staff. No nearby coffee, breakfast spots. Do not recommend!

This place is likely the best to stay at in Miami. The staff is exceptional, the price is fair, the location is good and the made the place into a small oasis!!!!! I stayed in one of the rooms with shared bathroom. It's shared only among two rooms and it was really private. The bar was right outside yet it was quiet with the window closed. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel is so awful, I was compelled to write this review before I even checked out! Let's start with the fact that the entrance of the hotel is very difficult to find. I pulled up to a closed gate and was instructed to call a number from a flyer. I called once and no one picked up. I called again and someone answered, but they were confused about the closed gate. After a bit, they realized the main gate was closed and opened it for me. As I walked in, I immediately saw a DEAD RAT on the ground. The worst part is there were several hotel staff walking past the VERY visible rat. Disgusting! This hotel is absolutely not ADA accessible. There are no accommodations if you can't use stairs. The stairs feel like they're about to fall apart in any second. The rooms are incredibly outdated and don't have AC. They also were not clean - ours had OLD HAIR in the shower! The door to the bathroom door would not close at all. The music is also blasting outside and you can hear it clearly from your room. The fact that they charge a resort fee without having all of the amenities of a normal resort is criminal. We didn't even get hand soap to use?? PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!

If you're looking for a spot with a ton of Miami character this is it! I stayed in one of the private king rooms. Victor at the front desk was extremely welcoming and helpful and upgraded me for free! The room was very simple, boutique-like, very cute. There are not many amenities in the room. I did not see a hairdryer, but had brought my own, and there is no television, but it was very colorful and very clean. The bed was comfy! The best part of the hotel is definitely the walking grounds. They have a beautiful space with a pool, a coworking space, a large courtyard and a bar and restaurant. They offer yoga classes every day. I was in town for business and after my meetings my plan was to go explore Miami, but I ended up staying at the hotel for dinner and not leaving! The restaurant is amazing, there are so many great spots to take pictures outside, and the food was very high-end. I had some of the best cocktails in my life and would definitely recommend getting the ceviche and the chicken empanadas! They did play music outside but they ended it at a reasonable hour and it wasn't very loud from my room even through I was overlooking the courtyard. I would absolutely stay here again, and next time I will bring friends!

These are old apartments turned into hotel rooms. The smell of the entire apartment was close to a dead body. You must keep the air on very low at all times to keep the smell to a tolerable odor. The decor pillows on the sofa and the beds had disgusting stains and smells. Toss them off the bed immediately and stray your beds down. The showers need to be taken down and a little money needs to be invested. So much mold in the cracks of the shower. No wash clothes available for guest. No trash can in the kitchen. No iron or ironing board in the suites. No elevators for handicapped individuals. They put us on the second floor. If you need noise to sleep know that you can hear everything. Helicopters, people talking in office and outside, car accident all after the hours of midnight.

This place disappointed me. I had a very small room without a television,air conditioning or a bathroom. I had to share the bathroom with the other two rooms in the building. The window would barely stay open for a small amount. Luckily it wasn't a hot night or it would have been a lot worse. I asked for extra towels and they did not have any. It was only for one night and I am happy for that. I only paid about $80. The area was okay,but I will pay a little bit more to stay at a way better hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Spend more money and stay at a nicer place.

When the room was booked, it did not stated that the bathroom would be shared. I have an injury to my knees and asked for a first floor but was given a third floor with low a ceiling, that being said I could not walk freely in the room. I hit my head more than 10 times. Plus I was charged a resort fee, it is far from being a resort! I booked the room through Booking.Com and they dated I should have been charged.
