Very friendly staff and the food came out quick and hot Sesame beef was good…everyone else in our party seemed to enjoy their meals as well—orange chicken, katsu ramen, Mongolian beef Not a lot of seating inside but me and my colleagues managed to make it work for lunch.

New great items on the menu! Udon noodles with shrimp. Ramen with steak plate- red & white onion, red bell pepper, snap peas, zucchini, water chestnut. Green onion pancake with a soy sauce/ oil dip- half eaten lol We also ordered some fruit drinks- lemon lemon tea and pineapple lemon tea All worth trying!

The food is very good but the little girl behind the counter is very condescending and rude. My first ever time here and I mentioned that something was incorrect about my order. She argued with me and made it a big deal. Then she brought the receipt to me, talked down to me like I was 5 and acted like giving me the rice that was $1.50 was coming out of her pocket even though I told her to forget it and was willing to let it go. If this is how they do customer service here then they need retrained or replace her in the front with someone else that knows how to speak to people. She seems to have an anger issue at the very least.

Google
I ordered duck dish today for the first time and I didn’t expect much but it was loaded with tender duck breast and it tasted drilled and amazing! Other usual dishes we get there were as fresh as always. My 5 year old loves Lo Mein. I never dined in because I like a minute from them so 4 starts for atmosphere is because the dining area is so small, they deserve to have a bigger restaurant, but I’ll say keep this one and expand. Overall, great food, great staff, never miss anything! I love this place!!!

Google
We read the many many great reviews for this place, so were looking forward to eating here. It is a small place with about 8 tables, on a concrete floor. Very little decor, so not much atmosphere. You order at the counter. This would be someplace to get take-out. I had the Spicy Noodle Soup, which was not spicy and was very bland. It looked beautiful and delicious, but I was very disappointed. My husband had Shrimp Fried Rice and it didn’t have many shrimp and he did not like the flavor. I know I’m in the minority, based on all the glowing reviews, but we did not enjoy the experience. The gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant.

Google
Never been here, 1st timer. Food was amazing! Went right before lunch, so not busy. Beef and broccoli was good and plentiful for the price. Eggrolls were okay, not the best I’ve tasted. Will have to try spring rolls next time. Love how everything is separate in containers. Will definitely go back!

Google
Excellent choice for both takeaway and casual dining. The cuisine is highly flavorful and affordably priced, making it a great option for those seeking quality without compromising on cost.

Google
Pho is a must here. Best broth so far in Abilene area. Spring rolls were good as well.

Yelp
Seven years? Update! Still my favorite Asian restaurant in town. We have multiple favorites so it's always easy to get something different. Glenda loved the sizzling shrimp or chicken. The sweet and spicy fish would be her next pick. I go for the spicy noodle soup or the curry Mei fun. The lo mein or the curry chicken are solid picks. Their newest dish is beef stew with rice or noodles. Mian is your place for some good Asian food!

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on Saturday and were pleased with the bistro. The food was fresh and tasty. The servings were very generous. While the place was practically empty, our 2 dishes came out several minutes apart. Overall we plan to enjoy this place more often, whether in person or take out.

Yelp
This is THE BEST Asian food on this side of Texas, I swear. The hardest part of moving to Abilene for me was the lack of food diversity, all I wanted was some quality fried rice. This is DELICIOUS!! Thank god for these people and their knowledge of flavor. Service was great, they're so fast. I went at lunch time and got to-go, was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Obsessed, I will be back!! (Maybe tomorrow lol)

Yelp
As usual, the food was very delicious and faithful to some of the food I grew up on in Japan and Hawaii. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous. It was a very quiet day while we were there but gent behind the counter was very cordial. Will always enjoy going there!

Yelp
Food was very good and the staff was nice. It reminds me of the west coast Asian places that are clean but sparsely furnished. I got the impression that they cater more to the to go crowd since you order at the counter and food is served in plastic to go containers. They do have a dozen or so tables for dining. Regardless, the food was very good. I had the beef and noodle summer special ordered somewhat spicy and that was exactly what I got. Ingredients seemed fresh. If you are looking for a good no frills Asian meal, this works well.

Yelp
Highly disappointed in this place. The dish was for sure not fresh nor did it have fresh ingredients. The egg had the weirdest texture. I had high hopes with all of the good reviews but unfortunately it's expected not to find any good quality ethnic food in a small town. The egg rolls were good. But $3.50 for 2 tiny rolls.

Yelp
I remember how wonderful and fresh the lettuce (pretty sure it was "Bibb" or Butter lettuce) used to be in the ginger-dressing small salad. Sadly, today, it was iceberg lettuce with brown edges that tasted old. I don't know how long ago that changed as I haven't lived here for a few years. All the other dishes today tasted great, however, no matter how great the food, being served in a plastic container with a plastic lid dramatically takes away from the whole dining experience. Very sad. I probably won't be back--too bad so much has changed.

Yelp
Food is always very good and a regular stop for us. Service is fast and efficient. Clean and relaxed dining room. Do wish the spring rolls with rice paper were bigger

Yelp
My wife and I tried Mian Bistro tonight for the first time. Let me just say: y'all don't know how good you have it here in Abilene! After living in such a big city (Phoenix) over the past few years, you would think that I would have found at least one decent Asian food restaurant while I was there. And trust me, I searched high and low! Nothing in Phoenix compares to the fresh delicious meal we had tonight. We tied the sesame chicken, orange chicken, spicy noodle soup, lo mein, and pot stickers. Yes, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Everything was amazing! The flavors were so on point! Nothing had that overly salty or overly sweet issue that you often run into at lower quality Asian places. The soup was spicy, but not just spicy to be spicy; it actually had great flavor as well. The pot stickers were definitely made in house and not frozen, which is always great to see. My personal favorite was the sesame chicken, but the orange chicken was definitely a close 2nd. Everything just tasted like a good home cooked meal that was made with love. I thought moving to a city the size of Abilene meant Panda Express would be the best I could find, but I'm very glad that's not the case! 10/10. We are for sure new regulars!

Darrell D.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot in Abilene! Have had the lo mein, curry chicken, and udon and every one is a suprise

Yelp
Great Asian in Abilene. Plenty of options for every craving. We love the spring rolls, Katsu Ramen, Wonton Soup, Pho, and Lo Mein. Only down side is the interior isn't a very comfortable sit-down spot and if you wait too long to eat the takeout anything will almost always get soggy quickly. It's hard to blame them for those things when it's a small business in a fairly desolate part of town, but that earns Mian's a 4-star none the less. Fast, no frills, wide variety, and nice staff. It's our go to Asian on the South side and honestly in our Top 2 for all of Abilene these days.

Yelp
I thought everything was sort of good. The scallion pancakes will actually change your life. They are not overly greasy and they have a thicker chewy texture, more similar to like a rice pancake or something, loved this. Want it everyday forever. The beef and broccoli was way over the top salty, but the broccoli in it was perfectly cooked. I found the meat itself to have that funny slimy texture that many other Asian restaurants have. I believe it's a technique they use to tenderize, where they brine in saltwater and cornstarch. Don't like that. The chicken curry was delicious, but again with the funny meat texture and very little veggies. Ratio of rice to entree is way too small. I don't even eat it and it wasn't enough for the rest at our table. I did not care for the spring rolls, the chicken had the funny overcooked flavor I don't like. Lastly, the disposable dinnerware is inexcusable. What a waste of plastic. It's understandable for to-go orders but for everyone dining in, what a trajedy. Also takes away from the integrity of the food and overall experience. Lame. *My husband enjoyed it all very much, he thinks I'm harsh on this one, but agreed about the plastic and not enough rice*
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious, fresh, every time! The summer special was full of fresh, crisp, veggies. My kids love the steak fried rice. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love this place. Food is very authentic and adorable. Love coming here and grabbing lunch. Staff is always nice.

Yelp
The food is decent however everything is put into plastic To go containers even if you order "for here." You'll get served piping hot soup and food in plastic with plastic utensils, which is a big no no for multiple reasons. #1 Putting hot food in plastics causes the plastic to leech harmful chemicals into the food. Plastics are known endocrine disrupters and mess with your hormones and health. Ingesting plastics contributes to multiple health issues, Google it if you don't believe me. #2 Presentation: any chef will tell you presentation is key. Serving food in single use plastic trays kills the presentation and makes it unappetizing or less appetizing. We asked for our food for here and during the pandemic the excuse was that they wanted to do it for health reasons (to go only) but they're still doing it in October 2023. With what we know about plastics and how harmful they are to humans if ingested after being in contact with hot temperatures, there is literally no excuse to serve hot soup in a plastic to go container with a plastic spoon. That's a recipe for leeching plastics into your food and your body. Google and YouTube provide multiple sources of info about how plastic is not an ideal container for high temperature foods you are ingesting. I suggest you look into it! All of their entrees are too hot to be safely put into plastic containers and ingested. If the owner sees this I suggest you switch to other Togo containers but also to serve your food in store on and in standard food safe plates, bowls and silverware appropriate for high temperature foods m. This will help us have a choice to not ingest leeching plastic onto your otherwise nice food

Yelp
The curry chicken is so delicious! Good portion for the price as well. Spring rolls were yummy as well.

Yelp
They consistently have good oriental food and noodles. One of my favorite places to call and pickup to go. They are conveniently located. They're inside dinning area is pretty small and I have only got to go orders.
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing surprised me more than finding the bistro. It was absolutely amazing. Id almost given up finding a good Asian fusion cuisine place here, but I'm happy to say I was wrong. The chicken curry was on par with some of the best Thai places I've been to. The sesame chicken and orange chicken were amazing. The mongolian beef was heavily sauced and flavorful. The egg rolls and cheese wantons were absolutely perfect! Now the scallion pancake, that was something that I never knew I needed in my life until now. Everyone was amazing and I will happily make this my go to spot from now on!
google avatar

Yelp
Sparse interior, but was clean. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Had greens with ginger dressing and that was delicious, so were the potstickers, YUM! My Aunt had the Orange Chicken and let me try it, it was good and I would order it, but I prefer Panda Express Orange Chicken if I'm being honest! I had the Mian's Curry Chicken. The curry sauce was watered down but still good. Wasn't a fan of how they sliced the chicken. It was flat if that even makes sense? I didn't think to take a picture at the time. It didn't change the flavor of the chicken but just made the texture weird. I would definitely eat there again and plan to do so! The greens with ginger dressing and the potstickers will definitely be something I always order!

Yelp
Food was very good; seasoned very well. Atmosphere was a little noisy, but to be expected in a small space. All in all, a very good place to dine!

Yelp
Yesterday I had the hunnan duck, chicken egg rolls, green onion pancakes, and matcha thai tea. The chicken eggrolls were crispy and well seasoned with herbs. The green onion pancake was crispy on the outside, slightly chewy in the middle. I would've liked it if the sauce they came with was slightly tangier. I would recommend eating this there because once they get cold and soggy they start getting too chewy. The hunnan duck was cooked to perfection. The duck melted like butter in my mouth. The veggies were stirfry crunchy and I loved it. They sauce was a little spicy for me, so I would recommend getting one of their milky teas to cool your mouth if you have a medium to low spice tolerance. The matcha thai tea had a sweet milky front note that would transform into a thai tea flavor and finish with a matcha after taste. I believe the average matcha and or thai drinker (or someone who wants to try something new) would enjoy this. However, I personally like a really earth grassy matcha flavor with little to no sweetness and it was too sweet for me. Though it definetaly helped cool my mouth after tasting the hunnan duck. This place has a 'hole in the wall' atmosphere. I love these kinds of places and will definetaly be eating there again.

Yelp
Food is alright. They seem like they still need to get over some of their COVID stuff. (ie they serve you with plastic disposable takeout containers even if you're dining in, etc). It kinda seemed like you were meant to leave and go away. Hopefully they stop that

Yelp
It was ok, coming from a big town where there are tons of Asian food this place doesn't not compare. It's ok if you don't know what real Asia. Good taste like. If I was very lazy to cook, desperate and since it's close to me, then maybe I'll go again. Lol the flavor was ok. The chow mein noodles were spaghetti noodles if u like that.
google avatar

Janet B.

Yelp
I like their chicken curry, the shrimp curry , vegetable fried rice, and grands love the orange chicken. I recommend this place.

Alexa V.

Yelp
maybe I didn't get a good night or the right dish. I got veggie fried rice because it's usually safe. It really didn't have no flavor except burnt
google avatar

Yelp
We were looking for Chinese food and this place has a great rating. They also serve Vietnamese food and Asian Fusion, whatever that is. My husband and I ordered two of our favorites, Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and two egg rolls for starting. The egg rolls were really good, but the dipping sauce was not what is regularly served with egg rolls. Every Chinese restaurant we've been to except this one has used duck sauce, which has a very good flavor. Their sauce was red, but actually had almost no flavor as did the rest of the meal. The Orange Chicken was a red color and didn't have any taste at all. The Sweet and Sour Pork has the usual meat, pineapples and peppers. It also had small ear of corn and zucchini (both a first). Usually the meat is cut up into cubes about an inch square. These pieces were small irregular pieces like you'd find if using scrape meat. Neither one of the dishes had any real flavor. We'll have to try somewhere else because for Chinese food, this place doesn't even compete.
google avatar

Jenna W.

Yelp
If you are looking to find some delicious Asian food- specifically pho in the area, go here. Absolutely incredible. From their orange chicken to their pho and ramen, it's all incredible. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it.
google avatar

Cathy N.

Yelp
pretty damn good! i got the sweet and spicy fish, cheese wontons, and a passion fruit green tea with brown sugar boba. the fish was so good, hot and fresh. it reminded me of one of my favorite restaurants back home in california. the cheese wontons were crispy but lacked on the filling and the sweet and sour sauce was typical. the passion fruit green tea was okay, the boba threw me off. it was like a crystal boba and had a hint of sweetness to it. overall good meal!

Avinash A.

Yelp
Absolutely enjoyed the food. We got the duck curry noodles and the beef flat noodles. Food was fresh and flavorful and exceeded expectations. I usually go to the thai place other part of town but will take more Trips here too on the future . We initially got only one boba tea, but it was good enough that we got a 2nd. Would recommend this place without a doubt. Only downside I would say is they serve all the food in plastic containers and silverware. I think it's a remnant of COVID times and it slightly hampers the dining experience. Would suggest to get rid of that
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
I have gone through a good bit of their menu and was disappointed on their flavors. The Mongolian beef and sesame beef add probably their strongest dishes. They messed up our order by never cooking it. So we had to reorder and wait longer for the food. If you do go, just order take out. The interior isn't that amazing. One doesn't miss out much by ordering take out.
google avatar

Irene L.

Yelp
I had beef Pho from here, best Pho I've had since moving here. Dumplings are awesome too. I'm planning on trying a different item every visit.

Karen F.

Yelp
The broccoli beef was mediocre. Plenty of it, but it had very little flavor. The cream cheese wontons were way to heavy with onion.
google avatar

L A.

Yelp
Recommend: orange chicken, beef pho! Very tasty and the chicken was crispy even when we got home to eat it! On the fence about: veggie soba The noodle dish was great! However, it came w slices of tofu that was so rubbery we could barely chew thru it! We took them all out and threw it away to enjoy the rest of the dish!
google avatar

Gayle K.

Yelp
Great good!!! Always consistent. My favorite is Curry Mei Fun and Orange Chicken. You should give them a try
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
Although I've been stationed in Abilene for about 4 years and I've purposely waited to review this. This place is the best place in Abilene to get sesame chicken. The chicken texture is what it's supposed to be, more meat than outside crust. Not like some places, that's vice versa. The customer service is always on point, and if I'm EVER in Abilene again, I will make sure to stop in. Thank you, Mian Bistro. It's been a blast.
google avatar

Mr. A C.

Yelp
Well, I had a taste for potstickers... so I ordered a salad with ginger which was good. Beef teriyaki.. which was ok, lots of fat on the beef but it was ediable. NOW... the potstickers..... i opened them up first just to see the filling and immediately said, what the hell is this. It looked like an old piece of mushroom or something. Absolutely worst potstickers I have ever had literally in my whole life. Salad and beef were OK.
google avatar

Brian And Christi S.

Yelp
Love to get the spicy peppers and chicken and the kids love the chicken on a stick. Getting pho to go is awesome, all elements are separated so you can build it how you like
google avatar

Vernon J.

Yelp
The food was good for Asian food in Abilene. The chicken lo mein was very good. The sweet and sour pork was good. The pot stickers were not very good, very little taste, and was pretty soft. The won ton soup was maybe a 3/5. It had a very strong mushroom taste. Overall one of the better dining experiences I've had in Abilene.
google avatar

Mezly L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food when I ordered take out. Very fresh and good flavors. I will definitely be trying this in house.
google avatar

Nathan D.

Yelp
Mian is an instant classic. I've sampled six or seven of their dishes, stuff I had eaten before at other places, but Mian's take on each dish felt fresh and bold. This is easily the best Asian food in Abilene for the price, and the staff were all friendly and professional. Come for the ramen, which features a really rich and tasty broth, and make sure to add an order of their hot, crispy cheese wontons and some mixed greens with ginger dressing. You also can't go wrong with the Cantonese egg noodle! Note: Even though it's not a formal sit-down spot, if you're eating in you should add a small tip for the staff when you pay, as the food is served in solid dinnerware and the staff clears the table for you once you're done.
google avatar

K B.

Yelp
This is our first time eating here && first impression is that this place is amazing! New favorite curry place in town. The employees are polite, the environment is fresh, and the food is both hot & delicious! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area that is wanting Asian food. We tried both the Kung Po Shrimp and Mian Chicken Curry (would recommend both to anyone). As your probably already know, if you have a peanut allergy ask before you order
google avatar

D L.

Yelp
Delicious food! We order a few items because we couldn't makeup our mind! Fresh spring rolls, cheese wontons, curry noodle and cantonese noodles... we were impressed! We will be back soon!
google avatar

Marshall B.

Yelp
This was an unexpected gem while traveling through West Texas. The spicy Udon bowl has great flavor and was served in a very large portion that easily could have served two grown men. The spring rolls are okay but not necessary unless you have more than one in your party. The price is just right and definitely worth a quick trip in for lunch!
google avatar

Cort A.

Yelp
Best Asian food in Abilene? We like to eat here often. Plethora of Asian food offerings. I've had a bunch of different dishes, enjoyed them all. My fav is probably the chicken curry. Great every time.

Nichole C.

Yelp
Pho is good. Noticed they are getting stingy on how much meat they put in it. Spring rolls are good, but very small for the price that they charge for them.
google avatar

Kristi A.

Yelp
Went in at an off time. No one there. Not greeted. No menu. Explained it was our first time to visit. Not happy that they had new customers. Most unfriendly place I've been. Did not eat the food. Walked out without ordering.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
This is a mix of asian fusion. Friendly staff and plenty of seating. The options were fresh and flavorful. The cream cheese wontons and hot sour and soup were great! I wish they had some spicy options.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
One of the best Asian restaurants I've had the privilege of eating. Defiantly the best place in town. They have dishes that can rival even the most authentic Asian dishes that I've tasted while abroad!
google avatar

Yelp
We were passing through Abilene on our way back to Dallas and were looking for some Pho. Due to poor map checking we didn't realize how far off of 20 this was but it was WELL worth the side trip, excellent food and service. From watching all the people come in to pick up orders it's clearly a local favorite and if we lived in the area we'd be repeat customers without question!
