I have driven 30 minutes four times in the last eight weeks to come eat here. I selfishly want to keep it as a hole-in-the wall secret, but not praising this place would be a huge disservice. The house-made noodles are super bouncy and firm, soup broths are all spectacularly flavorful, the pork burger is a mouthwatering juxtaposition of juicy pork with bites of crispy spicy jalapeno. If that wasn't enough, the dumplings are explosively juice packed with meat and the thinnest wrapper possible. By far, the best noodles and dumplings in San Antonio. Honestly, I would put this up against any I've had in my life even worldwide.

Google
Wonderful hole in the wall noodle restaurant, offering dumplings and cold dishes as well. The food is fresh and it’s quick and very delicious. The kitchen staff was funny and waved at us several times while we waited for our food. We absolutely loved the staff here, our waitress was very good and friendly. The dumplings here are the best in San Antonio that I have found. Boiled or fried, I think they even sell them frozen to go. Our lunch was $45 for two amazing noodle soups, one order of boiled lamb dumplings with two iced teas. Very reasonably priced for such great and excellent food. We will definitely recommend to family and friends!

Google
This is by far my most favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Everything is always so fresh & so delicious. Service is always amazing. The waitress that’s always there always has such a lovely attitude & a beautiful smile. 1000000/10!!! Totally recommend! Our usual is the pork & scallion fried & boiled dumplings, pan fried pork & scallion bao buns, & the beef braised noodle is TO DIE FOR!!!!!

Google
I came from northern China, living in chicago, traveling in San Antonio, and can testify, the food is better than just being authentic. Although noodle isn’t manually made, the texture is great. The broth is full of herb flavor not just msg. The bread of the pork sandwich is a nice upgrade from the original version, more. The environment and service are nicer than other Chinese restaurants.

Google
Located on the way to San Antonio, this is a great spot to stop by for lunch. The atmosphere is clean, and the food comes out quickly. As you can see in the photo, the jjajang noodles were loaded with vegetables, but they blended so well with the dish that they didn’t feel overwhelming at all—just incredibly delicious!

Google
After having lived in Beijing for 10 years now, finding myself in San Antonio there are far a few places that have food that resonates with my time in China this place is among them. The value for money is excellent. The service is great, and the food is as authentic as an experience for their selections that I’ve had in China.

Google
such great food. absolutely authentic. All beef noodles are so good and dumplings as well. I didnt expect this good since Houston has so many good food. I guess I should come to San Antonio more😆

Google
I have come here at least twice with my sister for lunch 😋! And it has definitely exceeded our expectations 🌟😃! We usually order the braised beef noodle soup 🥩 🍜 and the chive dumplings 🥟🙂! The beef broth is very flavorful and tasty 😋, and is totally perfect 👌 for a cold winter day 🌧️❄️🥶! We just wish that this restaurant would serve hot tea ☕️ 🫖. It’s kind of unusual 🤔 that, for a Chinese restaurant, they only have iced teas, cold drinks and water. But overall, we love the comfortable ambiance ☺️, which makes for great conversation 💬😃! I would think this place gets very packed and busy on weekends. So it might be best to come in on weekdays when it might be less crowded, and you can be seated right away. There is generally plenty of parking 🅿️ since this restaurant is located in an outdoor mall with plenty of parking spaces. The customer service is excellent and we have always felt very well taken care of 🥰! We will definitely come back 😃!

Yelp
My favorite shrimp potsticker place in town! Seating is limited but service is always friendly and the restaurant feels very comforting/homey. Their noodles have good consistency too but the flavors are average. Favorites: 鸡蛋煎饼 ("Eggfilla") + 锅贴 (shrimp, pork and chives dumplings

Yelp
Great place for some noodle cravings! We came from Houston and wanting some noodles/ soup for lunch. Found this spot. It's got great menu and tasty dishes. I really like the beef noodle soup, the soup is yum!!! Other food tastes really great too! The only thing is pan fried dumplings, I wish it's more crunchy on the skins. But it's a place we will go back for sure! What about you?
google avatar

Yelp
This has been one of our favorite soup & dumpling spots in town. Have been here a handful of times, both to dine in and take out. Have had no negative experiences. There are telltale signs the spot is good when you have families come here to eat in unison, that's one of them. The inside is pretty quiet. The menu is pretty intuitive. The workers do such a good job with the food. Recommend trying this spot out!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the braised beef noodle soup and the pig ears. I also really liked the bean curd stick. My brother liked the minced pork noodle but I liked the braised pork noodles better. The chive pocket and the sliced beef were pretty good but I didn't like the green onion pancakes that much, I thought they were a little thick and didn't have that much green onion. The service was quick and there weren't that much seating but it was only a 10 min wait for a party of 5 (they had to pull some chairs together).

Yelp
Food was delish. My server was very informative and patient with me. I had dumplings and scallion pancakes, very nice.

Yelp
Comfort noodle soup was my jam for my Bday meal! : D Had to return as noodle soup and dumplings were calling my name. We were easily seated at a large table of 5 at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. We tried a few different items on this visit: Pork burger- delicious! A thin sesame seed bun stuffed with shredded seasoned pork. My fave! Pork dumplings boiled- really really good! Esp with a chili paste. They need more of a sambal, than the chili oil provided at the table. You get more bang for your buck if you order them boiled too. Pork bao- came as order of 2 Nice soft bread, but the pork was more of a small meatball stuffed inside. Not my fave. It would have been nice to see more of the bao stuffed with a lot filling instead of a ball. Original beef noodle soup- nicely seasoned light broth with plenty of veggies and meat. Others ordered the beef short rib soup and spicy lamb. The spicy lamb is personally my fave. With the beef short rib, be aware that you'll be eating meat off the bones in your soup. Overall great food. Service was busy when we left, we did have to flag our server down.

Yelp
SOOO surprised to find a good asian restaurant here. I'm so incredibly impressed. Dumplings were actually so fire... I almost didn't get them but so incredibly glad that I did. Noodles were good and so was the soup. The lamb one was a little too smelly for me but the broth was super flavorful. Spicy beef was solid not the best I've ever had. Overall Mian: 5/5 Lanzhou noodles and braised beef noodles, along with the steamed pork dumplings. Both noodles dishes were delicious with tender beef and flavorful broth, which paired well with the chili oil on the table. The dumplings were nice and juicy, the order was just a bit too big for us to finish as a side dish. Service was also good!

Yelp
I see why this place is always so packed. WOW!!! We started with the sesame pancake with beef. Holy smokes this was amazing.! We both ordered soups. The braised beef noodles, with thin noodles . And the stewed lamb with wide noodles. The meat was so tender. The broth was comforting. Hugs you just right. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Mian is a great classic Chinese noodle restaurant that is reminiscent of noodles and dumplings one would have at home during childhood. We've gone twice already and each time we were not disappointed. So far, we have tried the Lanzhou noodles, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and the Stewed Lamb noodles, all with wide noodles. The Stewed lamb is definitely spicy with that kick of numbing Sichuan spice. It's not too spicy and I did take a few spoonfuls of this broth to add to the non spicy bowls to add some spice. I do wish the noodles were thicker and wider. The pork and chive dumplings are delicious, a great size and a great side or addition to any noodle dish. We've gotten them steamed in restaurant once and then have gotten a frozen batch to go every time. They are just as good at home, boiled for 8 minutes, I just wish I had some fresh noodles to go with them, ha! We also got the fried Pork and Scallion bun. I thought it would be similar to a Xang Jeen Bao but it is not as crispy on the bottom and not as doughy but it is still delicious. Mian is an awesome noodle joint, sure to satisfy your classic Chinese noodle cravings. I will continue to return!

Yelp
Great noodles and dumplings. We came for the chicken noodke soup and tried the pork soup too. Both were amazing. The poached chicken did have a bit of a dry texture somehow but the broth was filled with wonderful flavor. The hand pulled thick noodles gave a slight chew that is unique to hand made noodles. The pork and chive dumplings were so good. The dumplings sauce on the table is a little bit more vinegry than I am used to but still good. Service here was prompt and good. There is a cool window into the kitchen so you can see the food being prepared. Overall a great experience and #1 place to come for noodles and soup.

Yelp
Place was very clean and the workers were super friendly. I ordered cold sesame noodles and it was really good and fairly priced. You can choose what type of noodles you want and it comes with carrots, chicken, and cucumbers. The noodles cost around $12 and was filling for me. My friends ordered the pan fried dumplings and they were also super flavorful. I would recommend this mom and shop to anyone visiting and want some good Chinese food.

Yelp
If you're craving bold, authentic Northern Chinese flavors, Mian Noodles and Dumplings delivers in every bite. I started with the Stewed Pig Ear with Homemade Chili Oil, and it was unlike anything I've had before--perfectly tender with just the right amount of chew, soaked in a rich, fragrant chili oil that balanced heat, umami, and a hint of smokiness. It was spicy, savory, and seriously addictive. Next up was the Shanxi Stewed Lamb with Spicy Glass Noodles. This dish was a showstopper. The lamb was fall-apart tender, marinated in a deeply flavorful broth that clung to the silky, glassy noodles. The spice level was bold but not overwhelming--exactly what you want when the flavors are this layered and intense. The space is relaxed and inviting, and the staff clearly takes pride in what they serve. Whether you're a longtime fan of regional Chinese cuisine or just dipping your toes in, Mian is a place you'll want to come back to again and again.

Yelp
This place is such a gem! Very authentic to northern Chinese cuisine, boasting handmade noodles and dumplings that are so yummy. We loved the pork and scallion dumplings, and for such a steal for 15 pieces at $9! These are just as good as my moms dumplings soo a must try in the stone oak area :)

Yelp
Driving through SA. Found this place. Looks clean and waitress was nice greeting us. 夫妻肺片 Slice Mix beef was really spicy and not bad. But then the Scallion pan cake and beef noodle soup came out. Scallion pancakes still RAW in the middle. Guess it was frozen when they pan fried it. The waitress walk around finally got back to us and say they will make another. I told her please make sure is nice and crispy and cook in the middle not doughy. So pretty much make it THIN!!! After I finished my beef noodle soup which flavor was nice and the meat was cook well the Scallion Pancake finally came out. I took a bite the scallion was watery and still doughy in the middle. I told the waitress again this is still doughy. She was not pleased and asks if I want it take it off my bill. Of course I told her yes. She got pissed at us and took off the Scallion Pancake then will not say another word to us. No sorry and thanks for coming. If you can't cook Scallion Pancake then take it off the menu, unfortunately many American have no idea what it really should be. WILL NOT BE BACK!!!

Yelp
First time and the food was amazing. Great value. We had N2 and N3. It was served in a bowl and we had to bring some home because there was so much served.

Yelp
A delightful neighborhood gem, Mian Noodles is a must try for fresh and delicious dumplings, noodles (hot and cold), and small bites (street food). Be sure to enjoy Mian's house sauce with your dumplings (chef's kiss). In addition to amazing food, Mian's staff is friendly, engaged, and happy to walk you through the nuance of the menu. I highly recommend... cheers!

Yelp
Came here at 3:30!in the afternoon. My noodles were fresh and delicious! The onion pancakes were SO GOOD! Very authentic. This is my second time here. Will defiantly be back!

Yelp
Great food in San Antonio. If you like dumplings, I am recommend this place. Fresh, good dumplings skin, tastes good. The place a small but enough for the local community. We start with N3 Shanxi Stewed Lamb. This dish serve with glass vermicelli noodles, lamb meat and pancake. I like this dish. The second dish we have is the sesame beef pancake. They give a lot beef. Worth the money. The pancake also good. The last dish we have is the shrimp pork and chive pan fried dumplings. Definitely recommend this dish. The food comes to the table very quick. Not much of wait. Service is good too. Definitely good home made dumplings place.

Yelp
You not only taste the authenticity but you feel it as well with the decor. I enjoyed the simplicity of this restaurant and the food was enjoyable; especially on a gloomy chilly day. Zero complaints and would be back try some of their fried options. Oh yea...almost forgot, the noodles are bigger than you would think so keep in mind when selecting the noodle type.
google avatar

Catrina C.

Yelp
If you want to eat freshly made Chinese noodles in a delicious broth this is the place to go. If you are lucky you might see them making the noodles as you are waiting for your meal. You can choose your noodles based on size ( thin, thick or wide). I also recommend the bao buns and scallion pancakes. The service is friendly and efficient. The place is small but worth the wait for a table. We have also ordered takeout and the package the noodles and broth separately and it was still delicious when we got home. This is one of my favorite places! Also the price can't be beat!

Yelp
This has become a frequent stop for me and my friends. The dumplings are beyond reproach! The portions are plentiful and the flavors are amazing. We have been here 4 times and I'd say my favorite was the stewed lamb with bun. Seasoned perfectly, loaded with diced lamb, tofu, and a bun to sop up what is left (if any). The lamb and carrot dumplings are a delight especially when you add the pepper sauce they have on the table. I've been here with friends several times and everyone walks away full and satisfied. Great staff with smiling faces ; kind , courteous and knowledgeable! Support your local small businesses. These people work hard and put out a marvelous meal at a fair price. I'd say one of San Antonio's best restaurants!!! Just a great place to have a meal and relax.

Yelp
This little gem located off Stone Oak Prkwy, in the Stone Oak Crossing shopping area offers a good variety of freshly made noodles and other Asian style goodies, like dumplings, baos and sandwiches, They even have a variety of Asian drinks. When we sat down a very sweet woman came by to take our order. We asked for water with lemon, but needed a little more time to decide. She brought us our waters in disposable plastic cups with slices of lemon on the side. My first impression - don't judge this place by the cups. We each ordered the braised beef bowl and it was delicious. The beef was so tender and the broth reminded me of being back home in Hawaii. I ordered thin noodles and my husband ordered thick noodles. When the bowls were served we couldn't readily tell the difference in size at first, but once the noodles started absorbing some of the broth then it became a bit more noticeable. Don't be fooled by the size of the noodle bowls. At first glance we thought it was an average size, but once you start eating you realize it's way bigger. We plan on going back to try other dishes, but I can say our first meal was very good! Overall I'd recommend this place.

Yelp
I don't say this often but this was amazing!! Looking for some good Chinese food at an affordable price!? Well this is it!! The service was good and the restaurant was clean!!! Very friendly staff and the wait wasn't that long for the food! The noodles only cost around 12$ which isn't bad for what you're getting! It was really yummy and honestly I need to come here more often! I highly recommend this place!!

Yelp
I was looking to get a quick bite to eat with a friend so we popped into this place. The restaurant is small, but the service is really great. We quickly ordered and definitely got our money is worth. We had to share some of the food because it was just incredibly too much for two people and definitely took some home. They offered to go so you can heat them up in your own home. Great weekday dinner spot. The place was buzzing.

Yelp
After going to Mian Noodles I moved it from my wishlist to my favorites. Fresh and wonderful.

Yelp
I love this place! This place is always clean and they serve delicious food. Shrimp, Pork & Chives Dumpling is my favorite among their three dumplings. Personally I like pan fried ones because they are more juicy. Stewed Pork Burger was surprisingly amazing! I like to add their chili oil which makes it even better and flavorful. Sesame Paste Cold Noodle is a perfect dish for Texas summer. It is very refreshing with great volume of sliced cucumbers and carrots. I like to have Braised Beef Noodle when I'm craving soup. I've been here at least three times so far. Last visit was a bit sad for me, because the food temperature was not hot enough, although food was tasty. I hope it was only one time.

Yelp
This cafe is amazing. It's a small little spot with maybe 10 tables but it's very clean and inviting. You walk in and grab a drink from the cooler or they have tea, and then you pick a table. They have a huge window where you can see them make the noodles and dumplings from your table as well. Our server was very quick and attentive amongst her being very busy. We just had street food as a quick bite but we will be back for noodles. The pork and scallion dumplings were fantastic with crispy skirts, which I've never had. I wish the Pork Bao had a little more meat inside, but the flavor and texture was perfect. I also order the mixed beef dish, which was my new favorite meal. Spicy cold marinated beef slices and tripe with hot peppers....absolutely perfect. try this place out!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Great place. The restaurant is super clean, open and inviting. The staff were super friendly and efficient. I had the braised pork rib noodles and it was so flavorful. Also had the pork and scallion steamed dumplings...amazing!

Yelp
Scale 1-5 (1 low- 5 highest) Food : Pork burger : 5 - great flavor and the bun was fresh with sesame seeds. Pig ears-- 5 great flavor and some spice to it . Beef braised noodles: 4 the noodles itself freshly made was great. Broth flavor was ok, I've had better. (Not a complicated dish) Bao- 3 the steamed buns was not what we expected for pork bao's. Service: 5 waitress checked on us periodically. Ambience: 4 nothing special Glad to finally have a traditional Asian noodle restaurant in the Stone Oak Area . Would come again and I do recommend.

Leah Y.

Yelp
Love the noodles soup here! It was the best Lanzhou noodle I've had in SA . Pig ears in chili oil wasn't too spicy nor oil, just perfect for me! Service was nice too. Definitely will be back.

Tia L.

Yelp
Use to love this place. last time I was there my noodle bowl had one inch slices of noodle. Yuck. It was all bland and seemed old. Never again.

Yelp
We first visited @mian_noodlesdumplings when it first opened. Good to see many patrons there for dinner tonight. I got Dad Lemon Lime soda, and my husband and I both had the Green Tea drink. We tried the Scallion Pancake. It was good but slightly greasy. Dad and I shared the Wonton Noodle Soup with thin handmade noodles. Good flavor on the wontons and soup. I feel that they've improved. My husband tried the Stewed Lamb with Vermicelli and bun. Good Kind of spicy and tender lamb. We all enjoyed the food.
google avatar

Jennine K.

Yelp
The service is great. It's cute and clean inside. The menu prices are affordable. But the flavor of the food I found to be mediocre. Not bad if you're just hungry but I left a bit disappointed.
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
A small, peaceful place with clean, fresh, minimalist decor, a simple menu, and flavorful food. We were in a bit of a hurry, so we just shared an order of dumplings and bao, but both were delicious. We look forward to a return visit and trying more of the menu.
google avatar

Steph W.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend and so glad we decided to come! The noodles were amazing, soup was on point and I'd order it again. We got the lamb soup with thick noodles, felt like it was handmade. The chives pancake was sooooo good! I don't even like chives but they tasted great, came in order of 3. Lastly the dumplings were stuffed adequately and delicious! got pork and cabbage, the wrappers were chewy and amazing. Pricing was decent, this place was so good! We'll be back to try the other stuff. Waitress were attentive and nice!
google avatar

Efren R.

Yelp
First time trying this place. We really enjoyed it. We maximized the dumplings by getting boiled, very tasty... so now we definitely need to try the pan fried ones We've had some bad bao but this one was very good. We can't wait till the next time we visit San Antonio to try this place again

Yelp
Really great noodle soup and dumplings! A small restaurant serving authentic Chinese food. I've tried the lamb with noodles and pork with noodles. Both have excellent flavor and taste. The noodles are springy and fresh while having the perfect texture to go with the soup. They don't get squishy quickly. That is a bonus! I love having the extra green bok choy and herbs. It provides extra flavor to the noodle bowl. I received free pickles on the side once out of the 3 times I went to eat here. The broth for the pork noodles has a light flavor and goes well with the rest of the dish. It also includes chives and some egg. A really good balance and the color is excellent as you can tell in the photos. The lamb noodle is spicier, but not extremely spicy. You can add more chili oil if you want to increase the heat. The lamb is tender and flavorful. As for the price, it's a little on the higher side for a lunch meal. However, they do give you quite large portion and a lot of noodles. The dumplings - I ordered the pork, shrimp, and chives pan fried noodles. They were excellent in flavor and the perfect balance of flavor and saltiness. The green onion pancakes - the style is a little thicker than what I'm used to. They tasted okay and were quite filling. I'm not sure if I would order them again, but that's because I'm used to the more thin Taiwanese-style green onion pancake.

Yelp
Small little place and we arrived JUST in time but since there was just one server, it took a bit to sit down with tables to be cleaned off- the food! -boiled pork shrimp and chive dumplings were delicious- the soy sauce on the table has vinegar in it - delicious 5/5 -fried pork and chives dumplings- was a meh 1/5 they did the lattice on the bottom but it was not crispy- kinda chewy and greasy. I really miss the epic dumplings from Tang Street before Covid got them -chive pancakes- another just ok-1/5 -Bao- soft bun tender insides 5/5 -braised beef soup- I liked this- got the thick noodles- they have thin, thick and flat noodles- I think the thin or flat might take on some more of the flavor 4/5 -the Lanzhou hand pulled noodle soup seemed to be of the same soup base- beef was flat 4/5 I would come back for the boiled dumplings- incidentally, you get more (15) vs 8 fried.

Yelp
Shhh. Don't tell anyone about Mian. I want it all for myself! A friend suggested Mian and upon a visit to the website I knew immediately that I *had* to visit. One step inside tells the tale. Good smells, happy diners, and very enthusiastic and welcoming staff equals a special addition to the San Antonio dining scene. Americas version of Chinese food is ubiquitous for dishes like sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, and fried rice. You'll find NONE of those here. Homemade noodles, dumplings, and sandwiches served fresh and hot. It's brilliant and a happy introduction to the cuisine of mainland China.
google avatar

Jim L.

Yelp
Finally got around to trying this noodle restaurant. And I am glad I did! The single staff was working the entire restaurant and was great and had a smile with everyone. The decor is welcoming and has one large long table for a large party. The noodles, baos, and dumplings are all well done and you can tell they are all handmade. For me the pork and chive bao are the winners. The wonton noodle soup is second and the dumplings which we ordered the steamed pork and chive filling, which was a kind of blessing and mistake because it's basically the same filling as the bao. The blessing is that we got to take it home and Air Fry it later. Don't get me wrong I ate the entire bowl of noodles, I just wanted more bao lol.

Ella W.

Yelp
Boiled shrimp/pork dumplings are fantastic! Pork rib noodle soup with bok choy was also amazing!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in stone oak. They do Taiwanese noodles, scallion pancakes, dumplings, bao and many other dishes. Very small restaurant with table service. You can see in the back and watch them cook. Your food. We liked the soup and the wide noodles.

Yelp
My bestie and I came here on an impulsive whim on a Saturday on our way to the Drafthouse for a movie. What a great place. Tasty and filling dishes. Comfortable chairs. I had the chive pockets and the wide mixed vegetable noodles. I will be back as often as I can be. Thank you.

Yelp
Amazing noodles and dumplings for a great price! The service was great and this place is well worth the drive I have to make.

Yelp
The food was ok. A bit hard on the pancake. The broth in the wonton noodles was flavorful the fried dumplings were clumped together. The peach drink was pretty good. Sweet. Just the way I like it. The inside was simple. Service was friendly although there was somewhat of a language barrier. We asked what type of sauces were available. We were told they only had vinegar and hot oil. Later we asked for soy sauce. It was available too but nothing else. That was kind of strange to me. Won't be making the top 10 on my list in SA. The place was quiet. We were the only two patrons dining on a Thursday early evening.
