Stopped in today for lunch with a friend. We were lucky to find street parking right in front. The inside feels familiar to your standard casual Mexican restaurant in Chicago. I ordered the carne asada torta sandwich and my friend ordered the pozole. Right away we were served our drinks and a small sample soup that was perfect for warming up from outside winter weather. The horchata was as good as it gets. Shortly after our food arrived. The torta was a great size, and the bread was incredibly fluffy and delicious. I loved the torta. My friends pozole looked amazing and he only had good things to say. To finish up our meal I ordered the flan and the homie ordered a dulce de leche. Both desserts were perfection. Definitely recommend this place for some solid Mexican food.

Delicious! Perfect blend of flavors in the chicken soup. We really enjoyed the Cecina Campesina and Enchiladas de Mole. Mole sauce had just the right amount of spice. Tres Leches made a decadent dessert, and the owner, Mica, brought us some cups of corn in sweet cinnamon milk as a bonus treat. We will be back.

Do yourself a favor and put this on your rotation of favorite taco places. This was the photo of 4 mixed tacos before I absolutely demolished them. Steak- really well seasoned El Pastor- this was the gold star. Micas gives you a pretty good portion of hunks of el pastor. Chorizo- heavily seasoned. Really good but maybe a bit too heavy for me as a taco. Shrimp - a solid choice The service is so nice and attentive. Try their chicken soup it’s delicious for the upcoming Chicago winter.

Been back a few times now and definitely have my favorite dishes. Comfort food, their tortas are on point and the fresh bread really shines which is key BUT today I might have moved the pozole to the front of the line. Perfect for a winter day and those deserts, I warn you, once you take a bite you’ll order that flan, cornbread, and tres leches so you and your friends can share. I lastly got converted, as a Colombian who said he would never try a “cafe de olla” again but they make that coffee with JUST the right touch of cinnamon. Don’t knock it till you try it.

Really enjoyed our dinner at Mica's Mexican Restaurant. So much love and heart was clearly poured into all the entrees, desserts, and drinks - Our waitress is Mica's daughter, and she was so sweet helping us through the menu as well as giving suggestions. Additionally, she told us about her mom's recipes and what made them special. We enjoyed a carne asada torta, chicken mole enchiladas, and some of the desserts! You really don't want to miss this spot - I recommend giving them a try! We'll definitely be back.

I never write reviews, but this a 10/10 for me. If you want real Mexican food, go here. Everything including the service was perfect. Imma sleep good tonight.

Google
The best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! The food was delicious and made with love, and the atmosphere was so authentic and friendly. I will be back here again- this place is a real gem.

Google
Amazing food, even better service! I have had nearly every Mexican joint between Edgewater and Wilmette, and this takes the cake for the best enchiladas I have had. Also they gave me a cup of soup as an extra that was incredible. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Authentic Mexican abuela food made with love. Free chicken soup appetizer made us feel at home. Mica is so friendly & adorable. Her face is on the menu. She was careful about food allergies and offered plenty of vegetarian options for my mom. I loved the chicken flautas. This is my son's favorite Mexican restaurant. Please support them. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Very dry unseasoned tacos. I received my food cold and was charged extra for salsa . Poor customer service and very unwelcoming and poor quality of food.

Yelp
Picture this: In a simple storefront, Mica greets you with little bowls of chicken soup even before she takes your drink orders. Meat with mole - spicy, tart chocolate sauce. Crispy shrimp tacos. Tres leches for dessert. And that's just a sample. Mica - a true Abuela - will feed you well!

Yelp
This used to be Exclusive Boutique, remember that! I had rice and tortilla chips with salsa. The staff and service is micariffic.

Yelp
I wanted to say amazing service, they treated us very well. Started us off with chips and salsa, then soup. I got the super quesadilla with Horchata, and all of it was nothing short of delicious. We were also celebrating my friend's birthday and they gave us Tres leches and flan which was cherry on top of a great experience.

Yelp
What a gem of a restaurant! Our meal started with complimentary, yummy house-made chips and salsa, PLUS a taster bowl of a delicious Sopa Fino. Both the quality of the salsa and soup clue you into the care the chef takes with each dish. The Mixiotes De Pollo had a great cheffy-presentation in parchment and had just the right amount of heat. The fish tacos were yummy. Can't wait to try more menu items on our next visit.

Yelp
over priced . I picked up chilaquiles verdes . with carne asada meat . they charged an extra $4 for meat . on their website it shows a slab of the arrechera meat . when I got mines it was cut up and less the the portion of a taco ! eggs where runny and not cooked properly. didn't bother eating it . better off at honey bear . you pay same price for a way better portion all around . felt my money was just throw away . smh first and last time here

Yelp
This restaurant is a jewel . I had the huevos con Jamon and they were delicious . The salsas added a nice kick to the entire meal. I highly recommend the Cafe de Olla and if you have a sweet tooth, the pastel de tres leches is the way to go. Everything here is delicious and the staff are super friendly. Definitely a place to eat and feel at home .

Yelp
New Mexican restaurant on Howard. Super tasty food served by very friendly staff. Tacos were spot on! I'll be back for the ceviche and more.

So glad to see this new place in the neighborhood. Dinner was tasty. I enjoyed the pollo con mole. Mica, the owner, is very friendly. The service was great. We will definitely be back.
