We had a great experience. The food was delicious and tasty. All dishes we picked including dessert was fantastic. Sean seated us early for reservation. We got in a little earlier. Michelle was very accommodating. We loved her skill in pouring wine. Great place for romantic dinner.

My review is starting with an explanation of why I gave Michael Anthonys four stars. I pride myself in giving the most honest reviews. For me, the experience is as big of a part as the food is when doing a review. We have been wanting to try Michael Anthonys for three years! We visit hilton head yearly and have been intrigued by the debate between Ombre Cusina, Nunzios and Michael Anthonys. Saturday night we had a reservation for 7:30. Made well in advance to ensure that we had a table. We ended up getting done with our previous plans earlier than expected. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 with the intention of having a drink at the bar. Upon our arrival I explained that we were early and before I could finish speaking was told that there was no seating available. I explained that we did not expect this and that we wanted to grab a glass of wine at the bar while we waited. We were told the bar was fully committed and that we could not. (There was only two people currently seated at the bar). We then discussed walking across the way to the trattoria to see if we could sit at that bar. The host then said we can seat you now and offered us a table directly next to the door. I politely explained that we had requested a booth and that since we had waited for years to try the restaurant we would wait. I was then told goodbye and to have a nice evening. I explained that I still wanted my 7:30 table. We walked across to the trattoria where there was three people at their bar. We were also denied seating, stating that they too were fully committed at the bar. I asked the very nice hostess on the trattoria side if we could just get a glass of wine. She said, yes you can sit on the patio. They were very nice and served us a glass of wine. In about 15 minutes we were told that our table was now ready, (40 minutes early). So we paid, thanked them and went inside. We were sat… closet to the busy kitchen door and the bathroom’s. At this point I decided to concentrate on the food. First we ordered a bottle of wine and our server cane back with two glasses. No mention of the bottle. I did not say anything because we had already had the glass prior to dinner. We ordered the Caesar salad with anchovies and the caprese. They were both good, not great. Slightly under seasoned. For our entrees we ordered the Gnocchi di Patate alla Boscaiola and the Pollo alla Parmigiana con Salsa di Vodka. Both dishes were outstanding and hit 5 stars for both of us. The odd thing that happened in between courses was that we saw the other diners getting fresh silverware in between courses. We did not get this experience. For the dessert round we ordered the Profiteroles and the Sformata di Cioccolata. Both desserts were also 5 stars for both of us. We have never had a better profiterole in a restaurant. In total we spent $251 with the tip. (Total of 2 people) The entrees and dessert were amazing and worth trying Michael Anthonys, the service and the experience fell short for us. The food is 4.5-5 stars, I am being generous with my 4 star review due to the service/experience being a 2.5-3.

Amazing Italian food - the locals have told us this is the place to go…and we can confirm! If you arrive at 4pm, there are unbelievable specials on wine!! and the Chicken Parmesan is delicious!

Loved this place! The sauce to dip bread in is SO GOOD. We ate two loaves lol. Burrata and pear appetizer was delicious. Cesar salad creamy - my boyfriend always gets that salad and said it was excellent. Nice healthy lamb chop and quinoa entree plus a delicious vodka sauce chicken Parmesan. Sauces are amazing. Tiramisu delicious, sherbet very refreshing, panicotti also yummy. Cream puff needs more cream inside. Would go back!

We took the hands on cooking class and loved it! Our chef was terrific and allowed us to do some cutting/ and greeting with each other! Our group ended up creating a friendship that I hope lasts a long time! The experience is wonderful and delicious!

So we’ve been wanting to go to this restaurant for many years when we go to Hilton head. We always seem to go to another local Italian restaurant that we like. I’m so glad we finally got to Michael Anthony’s because the food and service was outstanding. We had so many good things. I can’t go into the whole list but just to say please check out my photos and know that everything tasted just as wonderful as they look. They also have a small market there where you can buy pre-packaged foods and take them with you.

The 3 of us went there 6/26/25 for dinner. We had a fantastic meal. I had the shrimp and scallop over risotto. It was the best I ever had. Perfectly prepared. My one friend had the lasagna which he raved about. The other friend had the bolognese which she said was excellent. Our sever was point one. Definitely worth the price.

What a fabulous dinner we enjoyed for my birthday. The grilled veal chop we exceptional and cooked to perfection. The heirloom tomatoes in the Caprese salad were so delicious and the raviolis were so light and the sauce with truffles was heavenly! The excellent service and ambience topped off a memorable evening!

Another fantastic experience at Michael Anthony's! Easily made a reservation and was able modify it within less than an hour of the original reservation time (pushed it back 15 minutes since we were running behind) on OpenTable. Seated right away on arrival, and received impeccable service throughout the visit! The prices here are reasonable considering the quality. Love the complimentary bread starter and the actual meal was delicious! I got the veal ravioli (Ravioli di Vitello al Tartufo Nero) and would get it again! Like last time, we finished with the affogato (sub salted caramel gelato) and left satisfied!

I ate their "cafe" area which is right by the actual restaurant (owned by the same) Absolutely incredible! I had a solo dining experience at a high top table (my fiancé's flight wasn't arriving till midnight!) It was the best dining experience!! I truly lived like Anthony Bourdain and tried multiple menu items, and got a pizza to go for the fiancé. I had the bread, calamari, crab and spaghetti, and multiple great drinks. The espresso martini was fabulous! All the wine I tried was great too. I felt so comfortable being there alone and it was a great way to kick off my vacation weekend. I highly recommend! Even if you are traveling solo or in town for business- go eat here. It's worth it. Extra special thank you to Gio, my wonderful server. He was so knowledgeable about not just the food, but also many of the local restaurants, things to do, etc for a person like me who was visiting and looking for recommendations and ideas. The service was really great! It was just a very very average Italian place in my humble opinion. If I were to go here and order again: Scallops - yes Crostini - no Ravioli - yes Pork chop - definitely no Deserts were all pretty average. Tiramisu was the best.

Reservations are a must For many years, this restaurant was in our top ten Great service, and often very good dining. Lately, we observe the ambience is that of a Tired, Old property. Dining is fine until one is challenged by new and newer properties For our experience, we have concluded that WE can do Better

Our first time attending a cooking class. It was such a delight we signed up for another the following week. The chef demos and makes your lunch menu, along with a capable staff, for the attendees. Each dish was perfect. The Beef Wellington was amazing along with the crème brûlée and potato and leek soup. Chef Place is engaging, knowledgeable and most of all a master in the kitchen. It's a great event for anyone that enjoys observing food preparation, dining and entertaining. Wine is included with each course and the portions are ample. Add a cooking class to your next HH Island vacation.

We have been to Michael Anthony's countless time, often for Sips and Bites at the bar. It is always delightful! This week's menu was the best ever...perfectly curated. We will be back soon.

Lovely ambiance although I found the restaurant to be quite cold. Lovely server (Sigorne? I think his name was). I didn't see too many pasta dishes that had a white or oil-based sauce AND that had seafood. Most of the pasta dishes were all tomato based and the ones that had a white sauce were vegetarian. No foccacia bread (which is my favorite at Italian restaurants) and the bread that they serve comes with a ricotta whipped which I don't think compliments bread as well as whipped butter. My love enjoyed his Bolognese though he noticed it did not have any cream which is standard for Bolognese. I had the Halibut, which was lacking in salt and I would've enjoyed a sauce on top to round out the dish everything. My love's Martini was very strong. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, we just both left underwhelmed and still hungry (but the plus size is that it's good we didn't overeat I suppose).

Had a wonderful meal here. Fantastic ambiance and service. Great menu with many things I wanted. Excellent wine. Highly recommended.

The best service, the most delicious food and even better wine! Can't say enough good things about this place. We are on vacation and I'm very particular when it comes to food especially Italian. The homemade pasta was amazing! Sergei was super attentive and ki, if you make reservations here you MUST ask for him! Can't wait to go back

My sister surprised me with a reservation at Michael Anthony's Cucina Italiana. We were greeted with great staff and seated right away. There was a 'Happy Birthday' sign on the table. Our server Juan Sanchez was truly the best. Juan was very knowledgeable on all the dishes and I even learned how to pronounce some of the food. Juan wished me a happy birthday and went to get fresh bread. He returned with 2 champagne glasses to toast my birthday. What a surprise! The ambiance was elegant with low dim lights and easy music. I ordered Vitello alla Scarparillo which was Amazing! Medallions of veal tenderloin w/ pan seared Italian sausage, wild mushrooms, onions, peppadew peppers, red wine vinegar w/ touch of Demi-glacé. Is your month watering yet?! It came with garlic mashed potatoes, robust but not over powering. Glass of moscato wine. The flavors and textures was amazing. Yup, ate the whole thing! Although I was very full, we ordered dessert to share, Tiramisu my all time favorite. You have to get this... you will not be disappointed. Little did I know I was greeted with a crème puff filled with vanilla cream w/ raspberry coulis and chocolate drizzle with a candle on top. Made my whole evening even more special. Yes, I ate it too. Good service is common, but service that leaves a lasting impression is priceless. Thank you Sis as this is one of my favorite restaurants. Thank you Juan and the entire staff for making my birthday a year to remember! One more thing, all phone calls are taken outside of restaurant which was a huge plus for me... glad to see people talking to each other, laughing and connecting.

Stopped here while visiting HH to enjoy the sips and bites menu. We sat at the bar and had great service. We enjoyed delicious cocktails before the tasting and really enjoyed the food/wine pairings. We finished with dessert which was tiramisu:) Would highly recommend this restaurant!

We have been to this restaurant several times when come to Hilton Head and it never fails to impress us. The food is excellent and the service is on point.

Had dinner at the market. We shared beef carpaccio, bolognese and a shrimp pasta dish. The food was perfect. It was obvious everything was made in house. All the food was excellent. The service was also excellent. Also, I have purchased the homemade pasta and prepared it at home. That was also great!

MACs is great option for Italian food on the island. It is tastefully decorated with lots of energy throughout the entire restaurant. We had a larger group so we had a somewhat fixed venue, however, the options were fantastic as we did a combination of individual orders and family style. I did not hear anybody have anything less than excellent for a meal

What a fabulous experience, as always at Michael Anthony's with Chef Robby Colson's decadent creations. Our server Samantha was fabulous, very attentive and added to the wonderful experience. Cannot wait to be back for another amazing dinner.

Dining here is sublime during each course. The bread is delicious, with a requested side of oil and herbs. Our foursome started with glazed scallops, carpaccio, calamari, and the special whipped gorgonzola and pear salad. Magnificent. Service was exceptional throughout the meal. The veal entree was delicious and the Sardi Alla Sardinogla pasta dish was something to savor! A couple days later, two of us had trouble finding a happening spot for Thursday night, so we returned for another glorious meal.

Ate in the cafe, food excellent as always!!! The waitress was horrible and rude. This was my second time witnessing her. Talks over you, very unprofessional!!!

I've had my eye on this place for quite a while, and I finally got around to trying it. I don't know why I waited so long, it was exquisite. I was able to reserve a high-top table by the bar just for myself. Looking at the menu, the item that most stood out to me was the involtini di vitello con formaggio e salsiccie. Veal medallions rolled up with spinach, cheese, prosciutto, and Italian sausage. Each bite was divine, all of the ingredients played together perfectly. The dish came with green beans and potatoes, these were good. My one gripe was that I left a little hungry after. I was hoping they would have bread to begin but I wasn't offered any. Also the whole experience was really quick, the food came out surprisingly fast--they must have a very efficient kitchen! Overall I had a great experience. I would highly recommend for a special dinner!

We ate dinner here this past Saturday for my birthday. We were able to make a same day reservation and I'm glad we did as they were quite busy. Our server was Juan and he was lovely. Very personable, knowledgeable about the food and the menu and attentive while not being overly intrusive. There was also a lovely young woman refilling water and she was very attentive. We started with their complimentary bread which was homemade and served with their delicious marinara sauce. Excellent!! I had a dirty martini and my husband had an old fashioned. Both drinks were well made, delicious and generously poured. We started with the appetizer special which was prosciutto wrapped seared scallops served with micro greens on a butternut squash purée! It was outstanding. We the split the burrata salad . Delicious, excellent vinaigrette and I appreciated that they split it for us in the kitchen. I had the house made tagliatelle with bolognese and it was beyond delicious!! My husband chose the daily special which was a pork chop served with a truffle sauce and accompanied by whipped potato and roasted Brussels sprouts. He loved it. The portions were excellent, we ate our fill and both took home portions that were large enough for dinner another night. Though we were too full for dessert, we did enjoy the complimentary profiterole filled with cream and served with chocolate and raspberry sauces that was gifted for my birthday along with 2 shots of delicious limoncello!! Ambiance 10/ food portion, quality and taste 10/ service 10!! We will certainly visit again when in the area!!

This is on our list of favorite restaurants we always visit when we are in Hilton Head. They never disappoint, the strozzapreti pasta dish, sandwiches, and pizza's are delicious. Never had a bad meal here, service is always good. See you next time we visit!

We had a great date night at Michael Anthony's. The service was impeccable, our waiters were attentive but not intrusive. They have an impressive Italian wine selection of varying price ranges and types. We started our meal with a caprese salad - the mozzarella was clearly fresh. We split the NY strip and the frutti di mare con risotto. The steak was tender and had a wonderful crust. The seafood risotto was certainly the star of the show. Everything from how the seafood was cooked, to the perfectly cooked and flavorful risotto, was on point. If you're looking for a romantic date night meal, definitely recommend this place!

Long time patron, unfortunately things have changed - food was mediocre, service was off. Disappointed to see our favorite go-to take that turn.

Food, service, atmosphere is unbeatable and delicious. Everyone on staff is so welcoming. I had a special and it was divine.

We just had the most magnificent dining experience at Michael Anthony's on HHI! It began with the warmest of welcomes from the host and hostess (forgive us for not remembering their names)who then escorted us to our table. Immediately we were greeted by our servers Michelle and Hunter who are absolutely best in class! Their sincere professionalism made our evening truly a night to remember. They were later joined by Sophia who further enhanced what was already exceptional service. That said, our entrees of Halibut prepared so succulently in parchment paper with the perfect blend of asparagus garlic white wine and sliced fingerling potatoes...WOW, so flaky moist and flavorful we can't recommend it more highly! Then there was the bone in veal chop parmigiana OMG! This was without a doubt the most incredibly delicious melt in your mouth veal I have EVER experienced! They give you a steak knife but trust me you don't need it the chop is SO tender the delicate breading marinara and cheese meld together so perfectly you barely need to chew! The only word to describe what Chef Robbie prepared is MAGNIFIQUE! We could have stopped there and been totally satisfied but NO we topped our evening off with the most decadent dessert ever...a dark chocolate molten chocolate center souffle accompanied by a scoop of vanilla gelato and berries...we were stuffed to the gills from such a fantastic huge portioned dinner, but you can be dang sure we polished off every last morsel of that dessert! It doesn't get any better than that!!!Many many thanks go out to VP & GM Ian Mason and everyone who made our night so relaxing and enjoyable...we REALLY appreciate it...so much so that we look forward to several more visits over the next few weeks! If you're in Hilton Head or even near by we recommend you do the same...you won't regret it!

4.5 stars Came here for dinner and although our goal has been to have two appetizers and share an entree we couldn't because too many tempting dishes. We had a shrimp appetizer and soft shell crab first at the bar (we were way early for our reservation). Both had incredible sauces, which meant I HAD to eat their delicious baguette to dip up the sauce. Extra fun, they had wine flights for $13. We first had the tasting of various Italian wines. Very generous pours for $13! We moved to the table and ordered shrimp tagliatelle (really really scrumptious), veal rolls (the only slightly underwhelming dish, but maybe veal is always a little disappointing?), and the Sangiovese flight and the bianco flight. Definitely experienced how the wine improved the food and vice versa.

One of my all time favorites best Italian food hands down. The atmosphere is beautiful and the waitstaff super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I have loved everything I have ordered, standouts are the steaks, seafood and pasta can't go wrong!

Food was excellent. A bit more expensive but service , food and ambiance were nice. I would go back for a special occasion dinner.

The food was good. Loved the carpaccio appetizer. And the service was really great. I just wish the atmosphere and entree had a bit more oomph for the price. Glad we went, but I don't think it will be a regular visit.

Horrible review warning. The lobster ravioli was so bad. But my husband was too afraid to complain. I sent it back. Told the waiter at the bar it was so salty I couldn't eat it. But my husband was billed and paid anyway and the waiter didn't credit us. I didn't know until we got back to our rental. I would have stayed and argued. So sad for our 40th anniversary. Otherwise it was a lovely dinner. I shouldn't have paid for bad food I didn't even eat.

On a suggestion we decided to try this restaurant instead of the other Italian restaurant that we had been going to. This is definitely our new favorite!!! The food and presentation was amazing! The service was spectacular. Their cocktails were on point!! Thank you thank you thank you

This was the best meal we had all week. Got the scallops with risotto and it was absolute perfection. Intimate setting great for date night.

Outstanding place.... great food and service RUINED by management charging a 3% 'convience' charge for using a credit card. TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!

I sat in the cafe part of the restaurant and it was really quaint and nice and it felt pretty casual which I love. The meatballs and the egg plant fries were delicious. I had chicken parm for dinner and it was very good. The service was excellent and it was an over very good experience.

This is one of our top 5 favorite restaurants of all time. The food is absolutely perfect - I really don't think there's anything that could be improved. The ambiance is very cozy and perfect for a special occasion or romantic date night. Tip: Order some half-portion entrees to share so you can taste more of the items on their menu. You won't regret it! Favorites: The veal chop and bucatini are both an absolute must.

We had the pleasure of attending their cooking school this past week for a three course cooking demonstration with Chef Trey Place. The food was outstanding, as well as the presentation. It's a wonderful way to spend lunch and learn about ways of preparing some "yummy" dishes. Seats are limited so I recommend early reservations.

The food was exceptional. Pasta from scratch. The Seared Scallop appetizer was as great an appetizer as I have ever had, and I have eaten some great ones in my 73 years. The sauce with the scallops was so, so good! My wife had the ravioli and I had the gnocchi. Both were excellent. Bread was good, but not great, and drinks were very good. The service was friendly and excellent. The atmosphere is very nice. The low ceiling takes away from the room, but helps with the acoustics, which are very good.

Absolutely perfect experience and the BEST Italian I've ever had. Tanner, our server, made excellent wine recommendations. He picked the perfect bottle based on what we were looking for. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and gave us an awesome experience. The pasta was incredible - you can tell it is made fresh in house. The dessert was incredible. We got the chocolate soufflé with gelato. You HAVE to try the gelato. Extremely underrated and delicious. Caesar salad was also amazing. Everything 10/10. Absolutely no complaints. The dining room was clean and the perfect level of noise/lighting for a quiet and intimate date night. We will for sure be coming back!

We made a reservation for dinner on a whim, as a parents' night out during our family vacation. 8:15 p.m. on a Wednesday night had a good-sized crowd, but we had a great table in the main dining room. We didn't wait to be seated. We were taken care of by Sergei for the duration of the meal, and I would recommend you request him and sit in his section! Sergei was very attentive, answered questions knowledgeably, gave wine suggestions, and kept our meal at the absolute perfect pace. It was truly a wonderful experience due to his attention. We started with a bit of wine (there is an ample list for all tastes), and the Caesar salad. Sergei advised that it was large enough to share, and that was certainly the case. Pasta-- we chose Sardi alla Sardignola. MAKE THIS CHOICE!!! This is a PHENOMENAL pasta dish-- my husband said it ranks at the top of his list of pasta dishes, EVER (including trips within Italy). Absolutely delicious. For entrees, I had the scallops. They were very fresh, cooked just right, with an ample amount of risotto (more than I could eat). My husband had the veal-- cooked perfectly and tender. The potatoes were a good, balanced side. We finished with the panna cotta and warm chocolate cake, both nice finished and just enough to complete the meal. This was our first time visiting Hilton Head, and we are glad we visited Michael Anthony's--- a delicious wonderful fine dining experience!

5 star service, 5 star food, 5 star ambiance on the patio. You must visit when you're on the island! Remember to make reservations. The staff was some of the best I've ever met in the industry and the food was definitely on point. I loved that they were able to cater to our vegetarian needs and modify all the dishes. We make Italian food quite often at home so it's not something I seek out often at restaurants, but Michael Anthony's was authentic and unique and I loved that they didn't just offer the basic variations. I also judge an Italian restaurant on their bread and butter and I think I must have eaten at least two baskets so that right there says how good it was :) The staff checked in often, service was prompt and I loved that even though we had to be split over two tables they still made our family feel like we were dining together. The whipped ricotta salad, truffle mac and cheese, the pasta special and tiramisu all hit the spot. My FIL is the only non-veg and he was raving about his scallops. This was our first time on HHI and we will definitely be dining here again next time we visit! Thank you for taking care of our family and making us feel so at home!
