Michael's just got better with the JoAnn's additions. I usually get great deals, especially on frames, paints, seasonal decor and holiday crafts for kids. I think some of the home goods are a bit expensive but the sales are amazing and my senior discount is an added bonus. Also the online shopping and pick-up experience is really great and easy.

If you are a "Planner" person and love being able to go in a store and get The Best Planner Ever, mousey on down to Michaels and get yourself some Happy with the Happy Planner. 10/10 recommend. Esp. if you are short on time and dont want to wait for shipping! I love being able to customise my planner and make it everything that I need and want for the next 12 months. This Disney Classic Vertical Undated Planner is all that I need to jumpstart the rest of the year. And dont even get me started on the stickers. I am SO disappointed with Michaels. Last week I took a poster there for framing and the finished product was shockingly amateurish. Thanks to a professional young woman who worked in framing, my print was beautifully reframed in a timely fashion and I was called to pick it up. However, when I arrived (a long drive) there was nobody servicing the waiting customers in framing. Ringing the service bell was useless. Eventually I had to retrieve my framed my print myself. I used to respect Michaels but management has dropped the ball in their hiring & training practices. I doubt that I'll ever return.

Went in one night super late and there was only one employee in the store that I could find, I can’t remember her name but she was absolutely fabulous with all the help we needed when the self checkout crashed and helping us look for sometime.

I like Michaels as a concept, but this particular store could use a little TLC. The overall layout is okay, but you can tell it needs an update. The shelves, floors, walls, and ceiling need an update. Otherwise, it's a decent store, as you would expect. There aren't a lot of associates floating around these days, and they have converted their checkouts to self-service. The last time we visited, there wasn't anyone working a register, so we were all checking out by ourselves. I did see a couple of team members during my visit, but they were already engaged or clearly heading towards a destination. But, beyond staffing, we found what we were looking for easily and a few other items. The prices are way too high for certain things (not everything). Cookbooks, for example. Yeah, okay, it's not a bookstore, but still... $30 for something I can find for less than $15 on Amazon?! And you wonder why businesses are shutting their doors. I mean, come on, your outrageous markups are the reason, be real. Anyway, it's a great artwork, crafting and decorating store, and we usually have a good visit every time we go. It's a little out of the way, so I'm really looking forward to the Crofton location opening up soon.

Their selection was not as expansive as I thought it would be but they had a very good sale going on for spring crafts. I went in for stickers but most of the selection was gone ‍ so I never found what I needed.

Let me tell you, so sit back and grab a drink. This Michaels used to be good about 10 years ago. Today in 2019 this is no where near the case. Store is just horrible. Every single cart makes a screeching noise. Not one employee in sight to help you. Outside grass looks like it has never been cut. Do not go to this location. Travel somewhere else trust me

Eh, Michaels is Michaels. I only come here for 3 things: styrofoam bricks, shrink wrap, and ribbon for my custom gift baskets I make. Oh and for the candles when they're on sale for $2 each. I don't know if it's me, but there never seems to be that many people working here. There have been times where I've wanted to ask a question and could find nobody. The lines seem to be super long and slow no matter what time I go in there. Furthermore, the cashiers in the front are responsible for answering the phones. What sense does that even make when they're already slowly ringing up the 10 ppl in line? I just don't get it. They need a better system, or to hire more employees. One of the two. I will say that this store always seems to have what I need as opposed to the laurel location. They always have my styrofoam bricks which is probably the main item I purchase from them. I just wish they carried pre-tied bows to tie the top of my plastic wrap! The laurel location def carries them.

In a pinch we had to run out to get another tri-fold poster board since the one we previously purchased wasn't big enough to display all the information. I did right by me and phoned first so I didn't send myself on a "ghost" mission (ghost mission is when you set out to get/accomplish something and the place is closed, don't have it or relocated). I even scored an online coupon for 50% off and if you're military they offer a 15% discount (one or the other for your extreme couponers). The store is well lit, organized and if you sign up you can get text alerts for coupons and store events. The parking lot is busy but you shouldn't have a problem parking if you don't mind a short walk. Michael's offers in store demos, custom framing and a plethora of ideas for seasonal decorating. You could spend an hour in this store easily just browsing but they have good prices, promotions and many locations.

Awful trying to check out. It's 10:15am on a Saturday right before the holidays start kicking off and they have two cashiers and right now I'm looking at 8 people in line. This is taking much too long. Everytime I come in the store there is never any one knowledgeable to help either. The store seems to look more bare every time I come in except during Christmas time when half the store is packed with holiday stuff. The floral section used to be awesome back in 2012 but I am no longer inspired by the arrangements they have.

I would give them a negative 1 if I could. I've always had a terrible experience with this Michaels, however it's the closet to my home. The line is typically always long, they usually only have 1 cashier working, and they never have anything in stock though website states otherwise. After placing an order for two items two hours prior to heading to the store I was never called and told they do not have the items it wasn't until I drove to the store that they then went to look to say they didn't have them. Completely inconveniencing as the next store who did have the items we're about an hour away with traffic. if the young lady had checked prior and reached out to me It could have saved me the trip.

If you are buying anything from them double check that they only scanned all of your items ONCE. They scammed me by scanning almost everything several times . I was there the other day purchasing paints and brushes, which should have totaled around $20-30, but the cashier scanned almost all of my paints 2-4 times, bringing the total of my entire purchase to over $60. Once the transaction was finished and I realized the mistake, there was nothing that I could do to rectify the fact that this shop basically scammed me $30+ for things I never did nor intended to buy.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I prepaid nearly $800 for the custom framing of three pictures. The job was supposed to take a month, and they were supposed to contact me on July 14th when the items were ready. Fine. It's now 10 days after that (so going on 6 weeks). I hadn't heard anything and called the store. I waited on hold for nearly 20 minutes, and no one from the framing department ever picked up. So I drove out there today. The silly young girl at the counter was sitting at the counter, bullshjtting with another employee. I asked about my items. She couldn't find them and was totally bewildered. I gave her my paperwork and looked in the computer. She said it looked like they hadn't been done yet. She said they had been so busy and were short-staffed- I reminded her that when I approached the counter, she had been sitting on her butt bullshjtting. She called the manager, and apparently they said the best they could do was try to work on my items. I'm going to try and get my pictures back and a refund. I have family members who died recently, and we were looking to have several pictures and documents of theirs reframed. I would NEVER trust these people to do it knowing what I know. Take your framing work elsewhere. These people are terrible.

Hi, I am very disappointed in the service at the Bowie Michaels. I tried to return a purchase. Couldn't find my receipt. The problem with my return was that I did not have a barcode on the item. When I purchased it, I asked the salesperson for that info. They said I was covered because I had the receipt. Well, turns out I was not covered. Even having a phone number in the system, and going back to the register where I completed my transaction with my credit card, the manager could not find my transaction. The most I was offered was 50% of the cost of the item. No apology. Nothing. I would be more understanding but the overall feeling as a customer is that I really don't matter. Most of the time there is only one register open unless it is time to close and if there is anyone on the floor, rarely are you asked if you need any help. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Will find somewhere else to spend my money. So much for the service in Gorgeous Prince George's County!

Pandemic or not I can actually say this Michael stay consistent long lines at 1 or 2 cashiers. I either go now to Hobby Lobby or to the michael's that's about 30 minutes away from me just to get great customer service and short lines.. What's the arontic about it is somewhat a manager's act like they don't even care the hand that they have been dealt, So we as consumers have to deal with It according to the last manager as spoke to employees walking around C in that the line is 35 people deep today one cashier and no 1 was called to help

Do not goto Michaels on mitcheville rd in bowie to do any framing or anything involving artwork. I dropped my pieces two weeks ahead of when I needed it for a birthday gift and was promised an October 3rd completion date. Not until multiple phone calls on October 7th was I told there had been a delay and that the pieces would be worked on today. After a few hours the store called to inform me that the pieces needed to be stretched and they did not have the proper equipment to accomplish this. I have now been on hold 30 minutes because I asked when will the piece be ready Daisha was the person who processed my work the people at this location do not have a clue what they are doing don't waste your money or time going there.

I've been going to this location my whole life, and I've never had a problem. I've never had any issues with the store, even when they're busy everything seems to go just fine. I'm almost always able to find what I'm looking for, which I think is impressive for any store, especially a craft store. I really can't say that I have any complaints.

There is one cashier that does not care for the customer. As I was entering my phone number for the rewards, the cashier did not let me finish. She said the total and I am hard of hearing, so I repeated her amount. She then proceeded to yell at me and asked if I was deaf. I gave her the amount and she snatched it from my hand! Will not be coming back if she is there. Just rude!

Any arts and crafts project that you could ever think about doing, you can find the materials, instructions and ideas for it here. They even offer classes for a minimal cost for things like floral design, knitting and cake decorating. I took the cake decorating course and for the most part, was pretty impressed with it. Their weekly ads include coupons that are helpful when purchasing anything in the store. I also noticed that they offer a custom framing section. The store is well organized and clean and the staff is always willing to locate any items you need. Cool spot!

Michaels is so overpriced. But when they have a sale things are reasonably priced. This location has framing but no fabric section. They do have most other craft supplies you may need. I recently brought in a print to be matted and framed. The individual who helped me was nice and well informed. She didn't try to rush us or have us spend more than we wanted. That being said, it is a bit on the pricey side. Most framing is done in 2 weeks.

I ordered items online for pick-up at Michaels in Bowie, MD. When I arrived the place was hopping with business. I actually didn't even realize that it was "Black Friday!" LOL!! The employees were working very hard to keep up with all the in-store customers in addition to the 300+ online orders! An overwhelming task by anyone's measure. Unfortunately they weren't able to locate my order. Tierra suggested that I cancel my order for a refund and she would continue to look for my order and call me. I did not expect that she would find it, and that would have been okay. What I appreciated was how hard they were all working to try to take care of everyone. Ended up that Tierra did find my order and called me as she promised. She also provided me with a discount for my "patience" which was no trouble at all. This store is probably one of the worst craft stores in Anne Arundel County. They are consistently out of stock on many things, the lines are absolutely horrendous, and many times associates are not able to help you find what you need (if you can find an associate, that is). It is also very dirty and could use some updating.

This store has appalling customer service. I placed an online order for in store pick up. I spent 30 minutes in the store and left with nothing due to lack of customer service from at least 5 different members of the store in different departments, including the store manager. I called Michaels' corporate customer service to file a complaint and there are tons more details as to what happened, but I wanted to let everyone know you are better off ordering from Amazon, going to AC Moore, or Hobby Lobby. I will never step foot in the Bowie Michaels again.

Cannot believe Michaels is still here and ACMoore is gone. This location is horrible. If you're not going to have employees on the checkout then get the machines so we can do it ourselves. Every time 30-40 minutes to checkout due to only two employees.

Wife was having a medical issue, nothing huge, but she is pregnant and we needed to leave. It's the holidays, mind you; so the line was an hour long to get to the register. I told Christina at customer service about our predicament, she was 100% sympathetic to our situation, checked us out right then and there, gave us a discount coupon and a happy holidays. I don't think I've ever experienced a more wonderful store and we were treated so well by her. Bravo to Michaels in Bowie. And thank you especially to Christina for all of your help! Lovely store and people.

Don't forget your coupons!! This location has all! I can find any craft need I want in this store! Sometimes the line can be extremely long, but at other times, not so much!! This location is clean and neat and their products are easily accessed! And if they are not, just ask an employee and they will be more than happy to assist you!! And the employees are friendly!! What's not to like about this location?

Horrible customer service!! I came in the store around 8:45pm just to get a few items. I was well aware that the store closed at 9:00pm, so i moved quickly. My basket was at the front but I forgot one last item. As I was getting the item, I'm going to assume the manager on duty at the time came around to let me know that they were closing. I was trying to ask her if she could help me grap the item I was reaching for and she promptly yelled at me "We're Closed!" I spent over $200 dollars last night and to get treated such a nasty way! If I didnt truly need these items, I would have left everything. This upsets me because I am an event planner and I frequent this store, but after last night, I think I will do Hoppy Lobby instead.

I thought it very odd that at this location there was no trash can on the outside of the entry door. I walked around and shopped while carrying my fairly small plastic trash bag. When asked at the cash register if there was a trash can available I was told that they have no public trash cans. I can imagine how much litter( water and soda bottles) among other items are picked up all over the store because of this.

This store continues to disappoint. I enjoy crafting and planning and Michael's sells one of the brands that I frequent (Happy P. For some reason though, this location NEVER has the most updated products in a timely fashion. I have to drive 20-30 miles to other locations where materials are fully stocked. It's frustrating when I live only 5 miles from this location.

I shop in this michaels 2-3 times a week to get supplies and things I need. I can NEVER find workers and when I do they are never friendly or go out of their way to help you. Thankfully I know my fair share and I can assist myself. I often help customers I see that look confused, the staff never seems to know anything about more than half the products in the store. The only time I ever feel like they know anything is at the register. That's when they are friendly, but for all the other workers I cant say the same. Dear Michaels.. HIRE PEOPLE THAT ARE FRIENDLY AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. The customer service was beyond horrible. Went in to find spray paint. Passed several employees, none greeted or acknowledge my presence. Thats fine. Found the spray paint was locked (for a safety reason I'm sure). Found an employee and asked her if there was someone who could open the spray paint case. She said that there was a button to press on the aisle that would have the manager come open the case. Mind you, she could have just used her headset to reach the manager. But I go back to the aisle and after searching for 2-3 minutes I find this magical button.......THAT DOESNT WORK!!! So i go to the back office and find who I am assuming is a manager, and he tells me to give him a minute while he gets his keys. I go back to the aisle and wait between 5-8 minutes where he never shows. During this time another woman employee walks by 3 or 4 times and never asks to assist me. When I have finally given up and am on my way out the door, I see the male manager and approach him. Of course he acts as though he has never seen me before. I say to him "Thought you were coming to open the spray paint case," and he replies "I sent someone over there with the keys." I tell him "I have been standing over the whole time and no one has come over." He says a few words into the headset and I walk over to the aisle. Naturally the woman who had walked past me 3 or 4 times was in the aisle with another customer with the spray paint case open. Literally a 5 minute trip to Michael's took 20 minutes. The only person with any quality customer service was the older woman behind the cash register.

The line is always SO long. Only two registers open with a line of 7 people. I usually have to wait around 10 minutes to check out. Ridiculous. Besides that, no complaints.

I had something framed. Within 2 weeks of it hanging proudly, the thing I framed fell inside the frame box. I took It back and got it back with in a week. Hung it up again and the whole thing fell off the wall because the wire attached to the back to hang it up with was insufficient for my heavy picture. They said that. They said they would fix it in a week it is now 9 days and for whatever reason their phone isn't working so I can't call. They did give me compensation. Not enough but that is why they get 2 stars. Hopefully I can get my art back.
